A huge octopus farm is unfortunately set to open in the Canary Islands, murdering a million innocent kind smart creatures each year. There’s more info about the farm in the link above, but please take a minute to sign and share the petition! Demonstrations are also being organized for world octopus day (October 8th) all over, so reach out to contacts in the link to get involved!!

The fic by Rockity Sock is still an unpublished WIP so far, but it's really nice and will hopefully be completed and published later.
It begins at the end of the Ultimate Enemy episode, with Dan getting trapped in the thermos. And... I'm not sure how much I can say without spoiling it, but a lot of really cool stuff happens. It's a psychological type of fic, about different types of prisons and punishments, and has time stuff and pocket dimensions, and redemption stuff. (I was only planning on drawing one illustration for IB, but when I saw the WIP, I wanted to see so many things animated. So many awesome visuals. I wish I could've animated them all.)
This is the part I did animate:
He just walked for now, searching for the tiniest crack. The darkness went on for seemingly forever though, and no matter how far he walked it kept on going
Dan kept moving
He tried his best to break through the walls but every ectoblast he formed fizzled out. Fading into the darkness.
Oh, now it makes sense.
His powers are being limited, it takes him a few more tries to believe it. The fact that he’s trapped with nothing whatsoever. Endless hours spent, and wasted. Powers he has built up from the ground with no mentor, ones he trained endlessly after a decade.
Gone, disappeared, muffled. Limited. Dan let out a laugh, one with no humor. A laugh that turned into a cackle, he couldn’t stop.

been thinking about the liyue gang and how id draw their physical builds so here are some thoughts i had for xy cy and gm in particular
- xingqiu, unsurprisingly, would be quite lanky. i like to think he has broad-ish shoulders, like a thin athlete's build? hes a long boy to me haha, long face, neck, limbs, fingers etc, so naturally hes stands (comparatively) tall at 5'6" or 5'7"
i like to think hes most physically attractive one and has that handsome princely and boyish charm to him because it adds a lot to his fuckass duality LOL
- chongyun is a lot like xiao imo! short stature but with muscular arms. he seems nimble and flexible because of his normal attack animations (which bears a lot of similarities to xiao's actually! this + the fact that chongyun's normal attacks create gusts of wind further reinforces my hc that xiao trains him). sometimes i watch high energy choreography vids on youtube and some dancers look incredibly light on their feet, almost like their body is inherently bouncy? and i imagine chongyun to have that agility to him. chongyun has a delicate face and aura and i let that bleed into my hcs for his fighting style and physical capabilities hahaha. hes kind of like a cat who's deceptively strong. as for height.. just a few inches taller than xiao, so perceptibly short at 5'4"
- ga ming my new beloved. pretty much similar to chongyun but more muscular and stronger just because he wields his claymore with ease. theres a noticeable weight different between cy and his claymore the way he lugs it up after he swings (or even other claymore users like razor who, on his last hit, bounces from impact). meanwhile ga ming literally slams his to the ground LOL. i love his movements though hes very swift and expressive and radiant.. if cy has delicate movements then ga ming's is fierce and (charmingly!) assertive
ga ming is wonderfully charismatic though, i know hes not well known in liyue harbor yet, but he seems like the type to gain a reputation from his friendliness. how could no one adore him hahaha. 5'5" for height! just between xy and xq
i've fixated on the sticks for the past 7 months and i also just finished watching the first half of rottmnt s1 and also the movie, and i have come to the following conclusion:
this venn diagram is almost completely just straight-up a circle
Something something, my human Andromeda 5 are only them wearing ID masks, yada yada, the ID mask can’t hide nor translate everything flawlessly- The Andromeda 5 get to be fucked up human-but-wrong (some more than others) as a treat :)
SJHSUEHENHEJSHSHSHSH THE JENNA'S ROUTE MOTEL FRIDAY SCENE DJSJJSJSKS
(no spoilers) theres like. a scene thats very obviously supposed to be tense and creepy as shit but. THEY ANIMATED THE SPOOKY SPRITE WALKING IN SUCH A FUCKIN WACKY WAY SJSBDKSNSJ
I just saw your post about how there’s cgi in a lot of animes nowadays and while I get that they use cgi, I don’t get how in the hell they induce cgi within 2D animation ._. by any chance do you have a way of explaining that ?? cause I’m confused and I feel dumb lmaooo :’))
I’m rather curious cause that would explain how so many animes are coming out within a short timeframe and because of that a lot animators and such are overworked :( I just want a clearer understanding of how cgi works in that industry cause it sounds interesting but also confusing :’)
OO okay i'm not TOO educated about how it works but from what i remember reading somewhere mappa uses cgi but also rotoscoping and draws over them to make their animations more lifelike. sometimes they can make the model base and draw over it to save time on say figuring out the movements by hand drawing in each frame.
for rotoscoping, it's super noticeable in the opening/ending animations for jjk, aot, and csm and why people think they "look like movies"
this is just based on shows that I've watched and im sure there's plenty other shows that used cgi but ill use AOT as one of the bigger examples. the most noticeable cgi moments were even under WIT studios specifically with certain titan animations (i think rod reiss's titan was a very obvious one) and some scenes where the scouts are riding altogether with their horses in s3
the fight scene with eren and the Warhammer titan was CGI too, looks very 3D and not as like...flowy/fluid? (at least on first release, not sure how the DVD/blue-ray ver looks now) the movements come off a bit stiffer, things kinda look wonky whereas if you use like...levi's chase scene in s3 it's SUPER fluid
my personal problem with it is that 2D animation just looks a lot more fluid and natural, but with the CGI that's used in anime specifically it doesn't look as good IMO. granted hand-drawing 2d stuff takes literal MONTHS and is tedious as hell (i.e levi's chase scene...i think that took like 6months?? it's no wonder they used more cgi on other stuff in s3 to make up for the lost time)
i'm actually not exactly sure what kind of programs they use for CGI for anime specifically though, I'm just familiar with companies like Pixar/Disney/Dreamworks who all pretty much use Maia... IDK hopefully this KINDA helps? i think if it's still hard to tell what could be CGI and what couldn't..just think of like anime video games where the models look super 3d compared to the anime counterpart, which would be 2d! omg this is all over the place but hopefully some of it made sense LOL dfglkjdfkljg
I've been listening to hours and hours of music, so I've got a music diary update! I've been exploring a bit, there's definitely a tonal shift with this one. The first four are power metal, fifth and sixth are melodeath mix, Blackbriar is a new favorite and they are gothic/symphonic rock/metal (and their stuff is very pretty and movie worthy...like genuinely just check them out), and the last three are gen/mix:
1) Waterfall by Dynazty
2) Power of Will by Dynazty
3) Dancing With the Dead by Powerwolf
4) Out Of My Life by Cyhra
5) Amongst Stars by Amorphis
6) Abyss of Time by Epica
7) Fairy of the Bog by Blackbriar
8) Selkie by Blackbriar
9) Faded Out by Asking Alexandria/Within Temptation
