autumn chill- s. rogers

pairings: steve rogers x reader warnings: short, ooc?? i’ve never written for steve before fdjh i hope this is okay! about: for my sleepover! what it would be like cuddling with Steve Rogers on a chilly autumn day

steve has always stood on a fine line between running cold and running hot.

the serum that pumps through his veins pushes his skin to warm faster than yours, thus always welcoming the cold of your hands to flood them with his own heat. but the decades stuck in the ice always make him tremble a little harder than he probably should when a cool breeze ruffles his hair, makes him pull you closer when his breaths come out in visible white puffs, aching for the warmth that blooms underneath the layers of fabric you need to leave the compound.

right now, he’s teetering on the line, one of your many blankets draped over him as you’re gathered up in his arms, watching reruns of i love lucy as he asks questions he probably already knows the answers to, the only real intent behind them being the craving for the sound of your voice.

your head is laying on the hard plane of his chest, your hands wrapped around one of his as you absentmindedly blow warm air on his fingers once he complains he’s cold. fluffy, mismatching socks rest on his feet, the left one decorated with the symbol of captain america’s shield, and the right colorful with your own emblem. you poke at his foot with one of your own covered toes, rubbing his hand in between yours while your attention remains on the show. “are you still cold?” you ask him, looking up at the gentle blues of his eyes that are already looking back at you.

“a little,” he responds after a moment, and you huff, thinking about the large pile of blankets you keep in your closet before ultimately deciding you don’t feel like trudging over to your room. steve doesn’t seem to want you to do that either, so you resign to wrapping him in a bear hug, squeezing him as close to you as you possibly can.

a startled chuckle slips by his lips, the beginning of questioning what you’re doing barely seeing the light of day before you shush him, hugging him tighter. “are you warm now?” you whisper, tucking his head in the crook of your neck. the cool tip of his nose touches the sensitive warmth of your neck, making you shiver and tuck the blanket over him tighter.

“yes,” he smiles against you, his hands sneaking inside your shirt to reach the welcoming heat of your skin. “very much so.”

you hum, a finger softly dragging on his neck. “we’re gonna need to get you some sweaters,” you comment, cheeks raising in a smile. “you’re gonna look so cute,” you realize, enjoying as you watch the tips of his ears redden. “cold?” you tease.

“little hot, actually,” he replies, “but you knew that.” his eyes flicker to the arm that belongs to the hand sneaking inside the neck of his shirt, tracing small figures into his skin. you cock your head at him.

“i did,” you admit, bashfully removing your hand to lay it on his cheek. you press your lips to his cool nose, “but i gotta make sure i’m warming you up.”

he nudges his nose against yours before kissing you slowly, “this cold thing ain’t so bad,” he lets you know when he pulls away. you can’t help but agree.

so basically for any bucky angst, you can scroll through @wkemeup 's masterlist because most of it is angst and all of it is amazing, but here are some of my favorites: (this was hard?? i had like ten fics lmao) lavender, soldat, and in shades of purple

@pellucid-constellations also has the things we carry with us, can't get the words out, and haze

and finally, @shurisneakers has an amazing angsty fic but beI warn you cause it is so painful- was, wasn't

Hiii, congrats on 1k that’s amazing and you def deserve it! For the sleepover thing can I get 💍 with some blogs you recommend. And can I do ❣️for a ship. I’m really bad at describing myself lmao but I’ll try. I’m an 18 year old girl, I’m a psych major. I think I’m smart and funny, and I’m generally out going. I’m pretty energetic and I’m sarcastic but I think I’m a nice person for the most part. In my free time I either hang out with my friends, party, or obsess over mcu stuff and write. idk what else haha
