sometimes I'm like I should socialize more then I remember the time I was at a party and 2 complete strangers I had been having a conversation with started talking for like 10 minutes abt their abusive exes while I stood there silently before one of them actually turned and asked me if I had ever had an abusive ex

#HOW IS THAT AN OK THING TO SAY TO A STRANGER AT A BIRTHDAY PARTY #i was like uhh and then smth loud happened and they got distracted thank god #did not want to awkwardly explain to these strangers that im a 20 something whos never had an ex lmfao #i just poured myself another drink and tried to stick to the wall #unfortunately this was one of like 4 times during that party that someone i had just met asked me an extremely personal question #and/or talked at me for 15 minutes abt their trauma w/o prompting before going 'haha sorry for trauma dumping lol! u know how it is!'#no the fuck i dont! why would i be telling a stranger abt my trauma at a birthday party at 9pm 😩
