Phobia
idea : your phobia relates to your boyfriend's gifted godly abilities.
word count : 0.8k
type : headcanons
pairing/s involved : Jason Grace / Percy Jackson / Leo Valdez / Frank Zhang / Nico Di Angelo x Reader
warning/s : phobia speaks for itself. personally, it's thalassophobia for me. 😓
here is my masterlist!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jason Grace | Acrophobia (Fear of Heights)
Due to having the same fear as his sister, Jason is completely aware of the dos and dont's when you're an acrophobic.
If you two are forced in situations where you need to be in high places, he always attempts to distract you with anything he can think of.
He prefers embarrassing stories over jokes. His delivery is too deadass and his 'i'm-trying-hard-here-it's-not-funny' look makes you laugh before the punchline.
Knowing that it can be associated with the fear of falling, Jason will reassure you every time that he's going to catch you.
If you did fall, during some battle for example, he will asks you to close your eyes and hold you tighter before slowly bringing you down.
He really lives up to that Superman nickname so much, the others started calling you Lois Lane.
Tumblr media
Percy Jackson | Thalassophobia (Fear of Deep Bodies of Water)
Percy would be bummed out. Being the son of Poseidon, he loves to be in the water.
Everything about him— from his favorite hobbies to his happiest of memories, revolves around it and he wants to share that with you.
He plans on taking you on trips underwater; introduce you to the majestic marine creatures nobody else has seen before, unravel mysteries the sea has to offer, and form a big bubble where you can do whatever you want without being interrupted (ehem👀).
But how can he make all of it possible when your fear is literally all of those?
Percy would want to help you get over it. He wouldn't force you but he will at least try convince you.
If you refuse, he will respect that.
But if you accept his help, he'll try to take it one step at a time. Probably by starting to show you how the sea, no matter terrifying it is, is also beautiful place.
Tumblr media
Leo Valdez | Pyrophobia (Fear of Fire)
Initially, Leo will laugh. I mean, who wouldn't?
You're a pyrophobic yet you're dating someone who is actually made out of fire?
After he notices that you're not joking, he will begin to be terrified for you. Expect that Leo will be extra careful when you are with him, especially when he is working on something.
His contraptions deemed too dangerous like explosives, will be kept somewhere far away.
As much as he thinks your presence will make Bunker 9 a lovelier workspace, he will understand if you don't want to go there. The essense of it is from the god of fire himself— I mean you need a blast of fire to enter.
He also will refrain himself from using his fire abilities in a fight, making do with his inventions instead.
While pyrophobia doesn't have specific causes, it may be possible that you had some traumatic experience relating to fire. Leo doesn't want to hurt you or make you feel worse.
Tumblr media
Frank Zhang | Zoophobia (Fear of Animals)
Frank is confused. He doesn't know that the fear of animals is a thing and would wonder why you agreed on dating him in the first place.
He will ask you tons of questions; what caused your phobia? Are you afraid of all animals, a few, or just one? What can I do? After your conversation, he's going to search more information.
If you're afraid of one animal only, Frank will forget it ever existed. He will never talk of that animal again even when you're not around.
The others will joke about it. Example, if you're scared of snakes—
"What is a snake, Frank?"
"What's that, Leo? I have no idea, so let's never speak of it again."
In the case that you're afraid of all animals (this is a rare condition), he will not use his abilities and will train harder in combat.
When he really doesn't have a choice but to shapeshift in a fight, you two will separate with your friends' assurance that they got your back.
Frank is a nice guy but if someone made an offensive comment about your phobia or hardcore pranks involving that animal? Expect the wrath and rage of Mars.
Tumblr media
Nico Di Angelo | Phasmophobia (Fear of Ghosts)
I'm sorry but Nico will slightly judge you. Really, a ghost? What are you, five?
Like Frank, he will ask you what caused your phobia.
He will feel terrible and comfort you if you have the same experience as Reina and Jason, who's loved ones turned into a mania. If it's because of horror movies, he will awkwardly pet your head.
You may think the subject is dropped but Nico will make sure that no ghost will ever come near you.
Having the infamous title 'Ghost King', he will not hesitate to torment and threaten the spirits who try to approach, scare, or talk to you.
He will take you on dates to McDonalds but he will not bring you to any 'ghost business'.
If you want to get rid of your phobia, Nico will summon ghosts who can entertain you; like singers, dancers, those that can do tricks, and stand up comedians.
He will also show you how easily he can bend any ghost to his will, proving to you that there's nothing to be afraid of.

The sirens are always rescuing Mc. But what if, for once, Mc was the one who came to the rescue of a siren...?
Amazing commission, courtesy of the delightful @our-brightest-stars. I love any chance I can take to write more arctic-based stuff!
---
You could immediately tell, upon entering the room, that they had been talking about you.
Despite the sweet smell of coffee, the air was heavy. The chatter you had been hearing through the door immediately stopped, like you were a teacher that’d walked into a room of gossiping school kids. Four of your colleagues were gathered together around the kitchen table, mugs clasped in their hands - Evan, who you already thought was a bit of a dick, put his hand up to his shut mouth and cast a wide-eyed look to Leo and Tom beside him. Antoni, who you considered something of a friend, had her back to you but sank sheepishly into her beige turtleneck sweater regardless.
You bit the inside of your lip. You could tell from their faces what they had been discussing before you interrupted. You had gotten to know their expressions pretty well, after so long occupying the same cramped arctic research station together.
... Yeah, figured they’d find out eventually. If anything, I’m surprised it took them this long.
You wordlessly made your way over to the coffee pot, shoes squeaking against the rubber floor. You put your rucksack onto the counter, grabbing your flask out of it, skin prickling from their staring. There was still a significant amount of coffee left - a bonus of working with people who were also coffee addicts was they generally respected the ‘never leave the pot empty’ rule.
You filled your flask. The coffee still had some steam coming off it. Stars, the silence was deafening.
“... Uh... going out?” Antoni asked, plaintively, as you screwed the lid back on and pushed the sealed flask into the mesh on the side of your bag. At least she had the decency to sound ashamed. Leo didn’t do a very good job of hiding his snicker.
“Yeah.” You hefted the bag back onto your shoulders, doing your best to not make eye contact with any of them.
Evan, clearly, couldn’t contain himself. “Gonna go track down mothman?”
You felt a flush of multiple emotions at the same time. Some embarrassment, some shame, all of it quickly washed away by aggravation. Heat rose to your cheeks, but you held your tongue. You wanted to point out what a stupid fucking thing it was to talk about tracking mothman (a cryptid from West Virginia) in the high arctic, but it was obvious he was baiting you, so you kept your mouth shut.
It wasn’t the first time you’d been made fun of for what you believed in. However... the words stung that little bit more, when it was coming from your fellow scientists.
“Evan,” Antoni sounded exasperated, “don’t be such a prick.”
Evan raised his hands. “What? So I’m not allowed to ask questions?”
You didn’t respond. You walked past them, headed to the main corridor; you weren’t going to let this spoil your plans. “See you guys later.”
As you left the room, you vaguely heard Antoni and Leo starting to berate Evan in low whispers. Someone definitely called him an asshole, cut off as the door closed behind you.
You sighed. The hallway felt a lot longer than usual. You passed through another set of doors, heavy metal ones, into the cold ‘buffer’ room between the warm research station interior and the outside world. After double checking you had all your gear, you stepped out of the doors, outside into the sun.
People didn’t realise how beautiful the arctic could really be. If you told someone to describe the arctic, they would probably just talk about the ice. And yeah, sure, there was a lot of ice, it would be unreasonable to say someone was wrong for thinking of that. But that was like describing a forest as ‘just trees’. The arctic at this time of year was endless slopes of rugged greens that rolled and swayed and disappeared far away into the horizon and beyond, carved into shape by ancient lakes and glaciers scraping the ground piece by piece once in a millenia. It was a sight to behold. Trees couldn’t take root, only the hardiest shrubs survived, and you were little more than a stone’s throw from the vast sub-zero ocean.
That ocean, a haven for the rarest kinds of sirens, was your goal.
You tugged your backpack into a more snug position on your shoulders, and continued trudging through the stones and bare grasses. Even now, with the sun high in the air and all but the most stubborn chunks of the ice gone, the arctic was... well, the arctic. It never got warm enough to be comfortable and it was a good idea to just keep moving if you wanted to make it to the shoreline with enough time to actually get some footage before sundown.
You loved your job. Some would call you crazy, for willingly spending months at a time in the arctic circle studying sirens. You’d always been interested in sirens. The mystery and culture wrapped up within them, the inherent danger, so little information could solve so much. Siren studies was one of those areas where even the most fractional of discoveries would be groundbreaking and important.
... Sirens weren’t your true passion, though. Your true passion was what Evan had probably just discovered, and shared with your teammates - why you were lugging such a giant cold-resistant camera kit in your bag with you.
You quietened your thoughts with a swig of warm coffee, and an increased walking pace.
Would some people call your Youtube channel conspiratorial? Sure. But cryptids were where your heart really lied. Cryptid study, cryptid research, cryptid sightings... you were incredibly proud of the modest following of like-minded people you’d built up online over time - there was no doubt your qualifications definitely gave your word some weight in the tight-knit community. Honestly, you considered your research work simply a way to fund your true passion. Every day when you had the free time, you took your camera out with you, out into the beautiful arctic land. There was so much to look out for. What would you find? You were giddy. If you found something truly incredible, your channel could blow up, and you could do Youtube full time. Today your mission was just to get some footage of the sea for a voiceover section you had planned.
... There was never a small amount of side-eyeing from people you knew, when they found out what you were passionate about. You weren’t sure what was worse; the ones who rolled their eyes and made stupid comments, or the ones who nodded along but looked at you like you were a particularly imaginative child. At least the more aggressive ones were honest about how they really felt.
Sirens, in a way, felt like they proved that you were right to keep wondering what else was out there. They were incredible creatures, not even fractionally understood, dangerous and magical - they perfectly straddled the line between science and fantasy and there was so much of them that couldn’t be explained by those who (so frequently) brushed you off. How did their songs lure people? How do their bodies consist of such strange combinations of beings? How do they effortlessly sink hunting boats? Why did so many cultures have matching stories of them that perfectly apply to real life? In your world, honestly, the existence of sirens meant that a lot of other cryptids didn’t seem like too much of a stretch.
You had dedicated your life to researching sirens. By studying them, you could follow a path that was suitably scientific enough to shut up the assholes who didn’t take you seriously... but also gave you the time and resources to pursue your real passion.
You had to admit, you took pleasure in people discovering you were a scientist and a strong believer in certain cryptids. The visual erroring on their faces was wonderfully karmic to observe.
There was plenty of time to spare on the arctic research station. Experiments were frequent but didn’t take literally all day. You were left with ample opportunity to do whatever you pleased. Like, for instance... go out and film for your Youtube.
Aside from wanting to take pictures and film some B-roll, you just generally enjoyed being able to be outside. It was all well and good in the spring and summer, but when autumn and winter rolled around you’d be lucky to be able to see out of the windows. There was nothing as endless as the darkness of an arctic winter; the screaming winds, the days as pitch black as the nights, the many weeks cooped up in one place because the outside of the facility was literally one of the most hostile environments on Earth. It was good to stretch the legs - soak up as much serotonin as possible before the winter months came.
After a decent amount of time walking, immersed in your thoughts, you found yourself able to see the flat expanse of the sea poking just over the snow-topped hills. You were finally approaching the shore. Even from where you stood, you could see the massive ‘islands’ of ice floating silently away in the far distance. It was a truly magnificent place to be.
You rifled through your pockets for your hearing protection as you came close enough to the water to smell it, eventually having to pull off a glove for the dexterity. Even just a few metres from the sea you had to be aware of sirensong. Sirensong was always something of a risk but it was an even stronger risk while you were somewhere as remote as the arctic.
... But just before you got your protection into your ears, you heard something. It sounded like scrabbling, a weirdly desperate scratching. You stopped walking, turning cluelessly and searching for the source of the noise.
A few yards to your left, a patch of snow was wriggling.
No. It wasn’t snow. You blinked in surprise; it was an arctic hare, a surprisingly large animal, lean and white and with beady little black eyes. The animals this far north were always so much bigger than you expected. When it saw you notice it, it scrabbled and flailed in a way that only a frightened animal could, clearly desperately trying to run away.
Something was stopping it. Upon closer inspection, from where you stood, you could see it had one back leg trapped in a small crack in the ice.
... Huh. You moved nearer, putting your hearing protection back into your pocket. The hare flailed again, wildly kicking its front legs, it reminded you of an injured bird trying to fly. Then it totally stilled; as if it could hide from you after all that movement.
“... I really shouldn’t help you,” you said, dejectedly, to the terrified animal, watching its little whiskers twitch, long ears pinned back against its skull as it tried to act indistinguishable from the ground. “Survival of the fittest, and all.”
The hare’s beautiful eyes stared up at you. You could see its little chest going up and down, heart beating wildly under its soft white fur.
...
You scanned the horizon. There was no one around for a long while. Sure, your GPS tracker told your coworkers where you were at all times in case of emergency. But until they thought there was an emergency you absolutely weren’t being followed anytime soon.
...
You pulled your bag off your shoulders, kneeling down and tugging your ice pick out of its strap holder.
“No one will know, right?” you told the hare. It was just one hare. Even though leaving it was the logical thing to do, you couldn’t genuinely bring yourself to abandon this animal to die slowly and painfully while lodged in the ground. Besides, it was just one hare, wasn’t it? And it wasn’t like it had been caught by a predator, or something. It must’ve got its foot caught by accident; this was simply a terrible stroke of bad luck. If you freed it, it could go on to be eaten by a fox or wolf. Better that than to just die and freeze solid.
Using your ice pick, you carefully went behind the completely still creature. You were impressed by its dedication to stay totally still even when you were close enough to potentially reach out and stroke its fur. You had to be careful it didn’t spin around and bite you - you gently chipped away at the ice, extremely cautious not to catch its tiny bony leg. The entire time you dug, the hare was as still as the ice itself, unable to shake its instinctive need to stay small.
It really didn’t take long at all. A few careful draws of the sharp end of your axe against the compacted ice... and suddenly, like a gunshot going off, the animal sprinted away from you. Its powerful legs sent up a spray of snow, some of which went straight into your eyes - by the time you staggered to your feet, hurriedly wiped your face, sputtered and looked back up again, the hare was completely out of sight.
... Well. That was definitely a story to tell. You sighed, grabbing your bag and hoisting it back over your shoulder. At least -
- splashing?
Your head snapped toward the sea, in the direction of the sound. Against the total silence of the icy glassy sea, the splashing was loud, loud enough for you to hear it several metres away from the beach. It sounded frantic, almost aggressive. What the hell? What was going on today? You pushed your hearing protection onto your head, and half-ran-half-jogged toward the shoreline. The bare rock, grass and drifts of stubborn snow sloped away into loose pebbles that crunched and slid underfoot, mirrorlike water lapping slowly at the tide line only a few metres away. Lumps of ice, mini-glaciers of their own, floated silently and ominously by. This was water that would easily kill you if you fell in.
You scanned the shoreline, searching visually for the source of the noise you’d heard only moments ago - and soon you caught movement in the corner of your eye, just around a ‘corner’ caused by a rocky outcropping that jutted up a little higher than the rest of the landscape. Behind the outcropping, you could see large ripples spreading out, fast and random like something was fighting just behind where you could see. It was easy to pick up, considering the rest of the shoreline was so millpond still.
Immediately, you jumped into action, running across the pebbled beach and scrambling up and onto the rock face. You weren’t even sure what you were expecting to see. Was it a person in distress?
... Except you could instantly tell it wasn’t a person, when the hidden section of the beach came into view, and you immediately saw a massive sleek outline that was easily twice as big as a person. It was for sure some kind of animal. But it took you a few crucial seconds of mind-whirring confusion to figure out what it was.
... Oh my stars. You ducked slightly, as if that would help.
It was a skeleton orca siren. A huge one. Partially beached, right there on the shore.
You couldn’t believe what you were seeing. All the breath left your chest at once. An skeleton orca siren, right before your eyes, bigger than you ever could’ve imagined, arching white markings and strong bones unmarred by any scars that could show a loss. Its sockets were sharpened with frustration - its body was against the shore at an angle, you could tell from how its tail was still able to cause those waves that the sea probably deepened extremely suddenly. It was thrashing, clawed hands digging into the ground, the force of its thrashing sending up showers of both stone and sea.
Your breaths were controlled. The closest you had ever gotten to seeing a siren before was spotting their distant tiny shapes breaching near your boat, or the blurry low-quality images from underwater cameras. You’d never seen one in person so close you could touch it.
Clearly, you weren’t all that sneaky. Its rounded skeletal face whipped around, and razor-like white eyelights in pitch dark sockets landed on you.
Both of you were the rabbit this time. You froze, all your hair standing on end, nerves prickling. The siren froze too, waves stopping, it glared your way. At least... you felt like it was glaring. It was impossible to tell, its skeletal features were devoid of any of the usual emotional tells you relied upon. Whatever it was thinking, it was definitely staring, claws curling into the ground. Just its arms, twice the thickness of yours, could almost definitely snap your body in half.
Man. Chills spread across your whole body. Good fucking thing you put your hearing protection in, huh?
You took a slow moment to take it all in. From the shape of the dorsal fin, you could tell it was male; male orca had a tall, almost triangular fin, while females had a much more sloped and curved appendage. Those sharp white eyelights cut into you, he was taking in you just as you took in him, clearly analysing every part of you. There was something so terrifying about his gaze - the eyes of a predator.
He watched you. He seemed... alert. Very very alert.
...
Your heart was thundering in your ears, the only sound you could hear in your hearing protection. You unglamorously pulled yourself over the rock outcropping, scrabbling down it, and - against all advice you’d read before - approached.
He was beached. You had to at least see if you could help, right? It was one thing to have an inner battle about leaving a hare to die, it was another when the potential victim was a creature just as intelligent and sentient and aware as a person. He was laid at an angle, but still laid, the highest point of his back coming up to about your ribs. He had lost the advantage of movement. You nearly tripped over yourself as you moved closer, nervous feet skidding in the loose rocks.
... As you approached, he seemed to get... calmer? His eyesockets lost their sharpness, his eyelights grew in size. It was the opposite of what you anticipated. He wasn’t any less intimidating, though, no less scary. Your eyes kept darting to his teeth.
“How the hell did you manage to do this?” you asked, though you weren’t expecting a response, unable to hear even your own voice through the protection. “Where’s the rest of your pod, you dumbass?”
Was he smiling at you? Surely not. You dropped your bag to the floor, a few feet from him, digging through it until you pulled out your thick waterproof overclothing. Some other items tumbled out as you removed the gear but you paid them no mind. The waterproof outfit was like a boilersuit, it could be put on over the top of your other items and zipped to create a (theoretically) waterproof layer. Normally, it was a pain in the ass to get on, but you felt that you were on a time crunch and had somehow manifested almost superhuman speed.
You zipped up the suit, now protected in case you got wet. The closer you moved to him, the more you wished you had time to stop and fully admire him. The water on his bones and skin made him almost appear like he was shimmering.
“... Ok,” you said, despite not being able to hear your own words, “easy big guy. Don’t bite. I’m just trying to help. I’ll get you back in the sea, and then I’ll go back to the land, and we can go on our way.”
He didn’t say anything. Because of course he didn’t, he was a siren, why did that thought even cross your mind? You blinked and shook your head, as if dispelling the thoughts physically. Of course he couldn’t talk. Something about his face felt so intelligent, somewhere deep down you had seemingly decided he could understand every word you said. And even if he did speak, it wasn’t like that’d be of any use to you.
Something about him was eerily calm, even as you moved around him, coming close enough to his side to be within touching distance. Surely, a stranded creature like him would be thrashing and fighting when you came nearer, just like the hare? Surely he’d be making angry, earsplitting sounds that you’d be able to feel in your chest? The wind was picking up, tussling your hair. The siren stayed perfectly calm.
“... I’m... I’m gonna need to touch you. Ok?”
...
... You reached out, and traced his skin with the tips of your fingers, extremely gently. It was cold. You immediately pulled back, turning and watching his face.
You expected something. Anything. A jump, a twitch, a lurch. Maybe even an attempt to fight you off. You expected him to swing around; hell, you expected him to even look at you. Any kind of a measurement of his reaction to you. Your legs were itching to leap back and flee.
But there was... nothing. No response from him at all.
You came in again, this time putting your palm against his back, just beside his fin. It felt like electricity was running up your arm.
Nothing. Like he didn’t even care you were there. He was looking over his shoulder at you with a bizarrely soft look. Like he wanted you there. You felt very, very strange. This wasn’t at all what you were thinking would happen.
It felt like such a naive thing to even consider, but maybe... maybe he knew you were trying to help?
Well, you didn’t have time to ponder the implications or reasons. You knew he was alright with physical contact. Now, you needed to figure out a way to get him back into the water.
You started by trying to pull - it only made sense, right? It kept you away from his front half, where the damage could be done. You looped your hands around the strong muscular base of his fin, using it like an anchor, digging your feet into the stones and throwing your whole weight backward. There was an extremely faint rocking of his body, literally about as much movement as someone trying to pull a car and only succeeding in making it bounce. Unperturbed, you tried again, pulling as hard as you could -
- the loose stones slid out from beneath your shoes. It kicked up the smell of wet seaweed and salt; if you hadn’t had your hands on his fin, your legs would’ve gone out from under you.
“Fuck,” you said breathlessly.
Did the siren laugh? Your head whipped around, he was looking ahead again. You felt like you saw his body move.
... It must’ve been some other kind of vocalisation. You stood and turned around, trying again, this time pushing with your hands braced against the same spot. You pushed as hard as you could, nearly forgetting to breathe out, feeling your shoulders and wrists starting to twinge in pain.
Once again, before you could make any meaningful progress, the force of your body made the slippery stones dislodge. You stumbled, all but falling flat onto his back, regaining yourself last minute and turning and looking over your shoulder at the siren’s head.
“You just gonna sit there and stare at me?” you asked, breathless and only half joking.
He was looking back. You really really got the feeling he was smiling at you.
You tried to push again, since it felt more solid than pulling. Yet everything you tried, the stones dislodged. The ground itself was fighting you. Frustrated, you dug your boot into the stones, trying to dig down and see if there was sand underneath, but there was just more and more loose wet rocks. Like the beach was making fun of you.
... Wait.
You thought back to the hare. Chipping at the ice around its leg.
You let go of him, scurrying back to your bag, then returning just as quickly with your pick in hand. The siren cast you a questioning glance, but still did absolutely nothing to stop your nonsense. Quickly, you dropped to your knees by his side, holding the pick by the head and jamming the wooden handle into the pebbles around where his tail met the floor. They came loose, of course.
You dug fast, using big scooping motions to pull the rocks out further each time. When you found a particularly large and difficult stone you flipped the pick and used the sharp edge to hoist it out of the ground. Seawater would occasionally slip into the gap you’d made, as the tide made the most minute waves you’d ever seen.
Excitedly, you ran around the siren, to dig on the opposite side. You didn’t notice how you ran perfectly within range of his arms, yet you dropped to his other side unharmed.
Your knees hurt. You were certain they’d be bruised. But you kept digging, and digging. You weren’t really doing anything more complex than making a ramp underneath him - but you were excited and flushed nonetheless, tired muscles full of hopeful vigour.
Suddenly, his tail splashed, you felt his whole body moving like an earthquake. You jumped away as far as you could, this time successfully falling flat on your ass - just like that, the siren drew away from you, moving backward into the water as he regained his grip and pushed himself. You were shocked by the speed and agility with which his huge body turned... and how he almost instantly disappeared, under the waves.
Holy shit, you thought, heaving, finally letting go of the pick as you stared out into the rapidly calming waters. It was like he’d never even been there. I actually... I actually did it. I just unbeached a siren. I...
Speaking of waves. Exhaustion, like a sudden tsunami, washed over you. Your shoulders sagged and your knees screamed in pain, you lifted your hands up to your face to see you had great crescents of red irritated skin on your palms. You were probably going to get blisters.
... The cold started to finally twinge at your fingers. You managed to draw yourself up to your feet, but you flopped right back down to your knees once you made it to your bag.
You opened it up, looking for your gloves, a lovely warm feeling filling your chest.
Amongst the dry kit, you saw your camera bag.
...
Wait. Your eyes widened.
... You forgot to take a picture.
Welp - that was the lovely feeling gone. Immediately, you let out a frustrated shout, falling onto your back and putting your hands over your face. You forgot to take a picture. What a fucking moron! You’d just been closer than almost anyone ever to a massive orca siren, and you hadn’t even thought to get your camera out. He’d literally been a sitting duck, you could’ve photographed every side of him, every scar and mark, stars you could’ve filmed a segment for your channel. But the idea hadn’t even crossed your mind, you’d been so determined to save him.
You’d probably never get another situation like this in your whole life. The universe threw the greatest possible chance at you. And you blew it.
... You dragged your hands down your face, staring up at the mottled sky. It wasn’t yet sunset, but you could tell the sun was beginning to inch toward it. If you wanted to film you’d have to do it right now.
...
... You couldn’t tell anyone back at the station about this. You folded your arm over your eyes. They wouldn’t believe you; they discover your ‘conspiratorial’ beliefs, tease you about it, you leave in a huff and then you conveniently come back a few hours later with an elaborate story about how you unbeached an adult orca siren? Yet strangely, you have absolutely no proof of the matter, despite having a camera on your person the whole time? You weren’t even sure if your followers would believe it. Sure, they’d believe you encountered a siren. But unlike what the rest of the world wanted to think, they absolutely weren’t stupid - they’d be hard pressed to believe you RESCUED the animal and didn’t think to record.
Eventually, you sat up. You were really and truly gutted. But there was no point fretting; not when you had daylight to use.
Might as well just get some of that B-roll.
///---///
Looking at the comments was always nice. When you weren’t busy, and couldn’t get outside, your second favourite thing to do was scroll through the comments on your videos. Of course you always got the occasional idiots who called you nuts, but those were few and far between, most were people being sweet or recounting their own experiences that you always read with complete rapture.
You imagined some might find it hard to believe that being tucked up in your tiny warm station room was your second favourite activity. Walking around in the wind and cold was much more fun. But that, of course, didn’t mean you didn’t enjoy curling up on your desk chair with a blanket and a mug of tea while reading people’s encouraging responses to your passion projects.
You’d only posted your most recent video, the one about your siren encounter, about an hour ago. You scrolled, delighting in the serotonin that came with having an active comment section.
... Eventually, you came across a longer one that caught your eye. You paused sipping your tea to read it.
@bluesaphii1996
I grew up somewhere where we constantly see sirens in our waters. I absolutely believe you saw a siren, because I’m like 99% certain I can see a siren in the sea behind you at 14:51. Look just to the left of your shoulder, about 2/3s of the way between the beach line and the horizon. Its head pops up for a second before it rolls in the water and dives again. Either that or it's a VERY weird seal. But I’ve seen enough sirens to recognise their behaviour. That siren is 100% watching you when your back is turned. Be safe!!
...
You had to read the comment three times over.
Huh? What?
Immediately, sitting up and setting your mug aside, you clicked back over to your video and skipped to the timestamp in question. In that part of the video, you had set up your tripod, and you were talking to the camera with the sea behind you. You stared hard at the screen.
... You weren’t really used to looking at the ocean. You were pretty certain that someone who grew up by the sea would be a lot better at seeing strange movements in the water than you were.
But sure enough, just like the commenter had said, you could just about make out a shape in the water. It broke the surface, then disappeared down again.
You had literally put your hands against that siren. You’d know it anywhere. That was definitely him; watching you from the water, many minutes after you’d rescued him and he could’ve swam far away.
...
You sat back in your chair. You weren’t entirely sure how you were supposed to feel about that.
... Probably not excitement.
You just couldn’t help it. A massive grin was spreading across your face. You were absolutely, utterly delighted.
Despite everything, you did get him on camera!

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
content: leo valdez x daughter of poseidon! reader warning: language, too much fluff for the soul to handle author's note: i just realized i had been teasing this story for so long on my masterlist...deepest apologies. it's been sitting here done, collecting dust, and just waiting for me to post it lol. my bad lol. here it is, i hope someone is getting excited for this like a taylor swift album being teased for a long time lmao
leo liked to be romantic whenever he could. he needed y/n to know she was loved, every moment of everyday. he sharpened her swords without being asked, he learned how to braid and always carried those rubber elastics just in case. hell, he figured out how to make her a ring that could turn into a shield when she rubbed it a certain way. he loved y/n like it was breathing, it just came naturally to him. y/n, on the other hand, struggled when it came to showing her affection. leo knew she loved him, she was just unsure of how to show it. in her defense, she had never seen it before, blatant or subtle displays of love being something she thought was only in the movies. leo has distinct memories from the start of their relationship, y/n stomping up to him and shoving something against his chest before promptly running away. it turned out to be one of her gold shell bracelets, which he proudly wore everyday. she’s gotten better at it, though she had her moments. like today.
“there she is! hey, mi amor,” leo mused as y/n made her way up to him, pressing a kiss to her cheek. the girl blushed, shoving him off her with a small laugh.
“are you…are you free tomorrow?” y/n asked, averting her eyes and rocking on the balls of her feet. leo looked over at her with a wide smile before leaning against the wall of bunker nine, raising a brow at her.
“depends. i think this pretty girl is planning on asking me out, so i might need to cancel,” he flirts and y/n shoves him again, shaking her head in an effort to hide her rising blush.
‘fine, be that way. i’ll just take percy with me to the aquarium instead,” the girl huffed back, raising her head high and beginning to walk away from him.
“oh, no, you don’t. i’m going alright. you and me and all the fish in the sea,” leo mused, singing in a pitchy way. y/n laughed, weakly attempting to leave his arms to no avail.
the next day came, y/n and leo easily sneaking out of camp and catching a bus to new york. y/n was happily curled up in the bus seat, her eyes trained on the view and leo’s eyes trained on her. he’d argue his view was better. they each had one headphone in, listening to the same songs and occasionally talking but they were mainly just enjoying each other's company. finally, they arrived a few blocks away from the aquarium, y/n growing excited. she began yapping, talking about what made this aquarium stand out and what not. leo couldn’t help but look at her like she was the most important thing in the world as she talked about the size of tanks and osha regulations.
y/n presented her pre-paid tickets to the lady once they reached the aquarium and the two were off and running. leo’s hand was firmly in the back pocket of her baby blue cargo pants, watching as she pointed out a rare breed of sea cucumber. there was a tour going on next to them, but leo felt no need to listen as y/n must’ve already known everything. but then his adhd kicked in and his ears zero’d in on the guy’s voice.
“and these are butterfly fish. fun fact: these little guys mate for life, something that’s decently common in the ocean. if they happen to get separated from their lover, they will swim up higher to get a better view to find them. cute, huh?” the guy prompted before moving his tour along. leo brought his attention back to y/n, who had clearly also gotten caught up in the tour guide's speech.
“wanna be a butterfly fish with me?” leo smirked and y/n laughed, leaning up and pressing a kiss to the corner of his lips.
“couldn’t see myself doing it with anyone else. as long as you promise to swim upwards to find me,” y/n giggled as she began to walk away. leo followed, lovestruck and enamored. note to the reader: leo would later reference this in his wedding vows to y/n.
later, the two stood in front of one of the larger tanks, watching the fish swim around and around. throughout the day, y/n would randomly burst into giggles, before leo even had the chance to say something funny. she would just wave the boy's glance off with a sneaky smile, like she knew something he didn’t. y/n leaned over to leo, who’s eyes were currently trained on a school of bright orange fish.
“the fish like your shirt, by the way,” she whispered to him, like this was a normal comment. leo’s brows furrowed as he looked down at her smiling face.
“what?” “they like your shirt. the colors and graphics are nice. at least, that’s what they told me,” y/n shrugged this off, her eyes turning back to the tank. leo looked down at the vintage harley davidson shirt that piper had ‘thrifted’ for him. (he was certain she stole it, considering she had to pull it out of her shirt to give it to him.)
“tell them thanks, i guess?” leo replied, unsure, with a light laugh. y/n seemed to be lost in thought for a moment before she turned back to leo, her smile back.
“they said you're welcome. something about them being fashion experts or whatever. it’s those fish over there,” explains y/n, waving at the school of orange fish that caught his eyes earlier. despite the fact he knew he looked stupid, he couldn’t help but wave with her. at least they’d look stupid together.
“and you’re sure it was the fish and not just your subconscious telling you to compliment your boyfriend?” leo questioned with a smirk, watching the blush dust y/n’s face in waves. she gently shoved her elbow into his side, shaking her head up at him.
“whatever. you should’ve heard what the stingray was saying about you earlier, hammer head,” y/n huffs at him, crossing her arms and turning away from him. leo wrapped his arms around his waist and rested his head on her shoulder, still smirking.
“oh yeah? did he not like my pants or something?” “no, he thought you were very handsome. perhaps the most handsome demigod he’d ever seen. he just didn’t like that you don’t take care of your hair,” y/n replied and leo rolled his eyes, knowing the ray did not say that.
“liar,” he whispered into her shoulder. “hmm. you’ll never know,” y/n smirked back, turning her head slightly to rub her nose against his. leo shot forwards, pressing a short kiss to her lips.
the two left after that, y/n cuddling a shark plush to her chest proudly. she had squealed when she saw it in the gift shop and leo’s main goal in life was to make her happy. they caught the bus back towards camp, y/n’s head resting against leo’s shoulder as she squeezed the plushie to her chest. leo kissed the top of her head, watching as she lazily blinked.
“thank you, for today,” he whispered to the drowsy girl, who hummed in response. “ ‘course. we could be dumpster diving and i’d love it if you were there,” the girl replied, extremely candid in her sleepy state.
“i know, that’s how i feel too,” leo muttered back in tandem. “good. then the sharks were right,” y/n hummed against his shoulder, leo’s brows furrowing.
“about?” “how perfect we are for each other. some of them even started contemplating mating for life because they wanted what we have. they were very sweet…we should go back and free them,” y/n murmured, somehow wiggling closer to leo, who couldn’t seem to lose the dopey smile on his lips as he looked down at the daughter of poseidon, the love of his life.
“whatever you want, y/n l/n,” he whispered before realizing she’d lost her battle against hypnos, her breath evening out like waves lapping against a beach and grip loosening on her shark but never letting go.

Nico Protection Squad
WARNING: Use of hateful slur
Nico, coming home from school with Percy: Hey, Reyna. Hey, Jason.
Reyna: Hey, Nico.
Jason: Hey, Buddy
Percy: Hey, guys. Uh, Nico, why don't you go to your room and rest. We need to talk.
Nico: Mkay. *leaves*
Percy: Make sure to do your homework, alright?
Nici: Uh huh!
Reyna: What happened?
Jason: Is he okay?
Percy: ...we need to call the team
---Later---
At one of their rooms:
Percy: Good day, everyone. I know it's late and it's unusual for me to call a meeting at this time but this is an emergency
Annabeth: But first, an attendance check. Annabeth? Here. Bianca?
Hazel: Oh, she comes back next week
Annabeth: Ok. Jason? Here. Thalia? Here. Percy? Here. Hazel? Here. Piper? Here. Reyna? Here. Will? Here. Grover? Here. Leo? Here. Frank? Here. And Mr. D? Present! Ok, that should be everyone. Take it away Percy
Percy, clearing his throat: Okay, I need you guys to swear that you will not go berserk right after this and you will remain seated until we have a plan.
Everyone:
Percy: So, I was picking up Nico from class. On the drive back, he...
Hazel: He what?
Percy: He...asked me what a faggot was.
Everyone:
Thalia: WHAT THE FUCK?!?!
Will: Is he okay?!
Hazel: Where did he even learn that from?!
Jason: Did someone call him that?!?!?
Reyna: WHO THE HELL WOULD CALL HIM THAT?!?!?
Leo: Every single douchebag in school, of course!
Piper: You think they'd learn their lesson after the first time
Percy: *gavels* Order! Order!
Grover: I think we're all missing the point here. How's Nico doing?
Percy: He's fine. I asked him where he knew the word from. He said someone was calling him that, a couple of students a year above him apparently.
Frank: What happened then?
Percy: I asked him if he knew their names. He didn't and he asked me again what it meant.
Will: What did you say?
Percy: I didn't answer. There was a McDonalds right there and I went for it. He took the bait and has been quiet for the whole car ride.
Grover: So...what do we do?
Leo: OH! *raises his hand* WE'LL SET THEIR LOCKERS ON FIRE!
Thalia: I think what Grover meant was what do we do for now? We don't know these guys, and we don't know how much it's affecting Nico.
Reyna: Thalia's right. We need to have a plan to protect Nico and catch these bastards.
Annabeth: Percy and I already thought about it.
Percy: Introducing the Pick up/Drop off Nico Chart. We each get a schedule of when to pick him up, and when to drop him off
Annabeth: And to make sure we catch these guys, we think it would be best to see Nico off to his classrooms or at least the building.
Thalia, raising her hand: Uhm-
Percy: Don't worry. We adjusted it for times you guys are away. Which is why we used magnets to represent us. See? I'm the water droplet, Annabeth's the owl, Grover's the goat, Leo's the fire, you're the tree, Hazel's the-
Annabeth: They get it, Percy. All in favor of the chart say aye
Everyone, raises their hand: Aye!
Leo: So how are we gonna get back at these guys?
Jason: We could tell them off to the dean
Percy: You'd suggest that, wouldn't you, Mr. Goody Two Shoes?
Piper: I can charmspeak them to do embarassing stuff
Percy: Eh, we need something more
Annabeth: I'm writing that one down, it sounds funny
Mr D.: I am the God of Insanity. I can just drive them crazy.
Annabeth: Mr. D, no.
Percy: Not a bad idea though. I'm writing it down.
Will: Wait. I think I figured out another problem
Percy: What is it, Will?
Will: Who tells Bianca?
Everyone:
Percy: ...all in favor of keeping this a secret from Bianca, say aye?
Everyone, terrified: Aye!
Will: Whu- Percy, no. Remember that time you didn't tell her about how you accidentally destoryed Nico's mythomagic cards and made him sad for nearly a month?
Percy: *shivers* I still get nightmares from that.
Annabeth: Fine. Who tells her?
Everyone: *looks at Reyna and Thalia*
Reyna: No
Thalia: Absolutely not.
Mr. D: Hang on. If Bianca is so terrifying, why not just give the guys to her?
Percy: Mr. D, although that's a tempting plan, there is no telling what Bianca will do to those guys if we let her get near them.
Mr. D: She can't be THAT scary.
Everyone: Yes, she can.
Percy: With what she did to me? She might as well have sent me to Tartarus!
Frank: Gods, what did she do to him?
Annabeth: She took away all the blue in our apartment and replaced them with orange.
Percy: It took a month before she put them back! There was no blue food for a month!

Weapons also have souls au
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Did I just simply make 2012 & rise crossover? Yes, yes I did!
Did I also add some ✨mystic✨ to it for spice? Yes I absolutely did!!
Am I gonna do this one post and never return to this idea ever again(like I did with my rat au)? I really fucking hope not!!!
The idea itself is that one of 12!turtle’s enemy got so fed up with them that they got their hands on some mystic stuff to capture brothers in weapons and banish them to another dimension. Anything to “never see their stupid turtle faces again!”
To everyone’s surprise it actually worked. And unfortunately for turtles …. That’s how one, what seemed like normal, mission turned into catastrophe. One by one brothers got separated and locked up in their own weapon: Leo in ōdachi, Mickey in kusari-fundo, Raph in tonfās and Donnie in some strange bo stuff (I have no idea what the name of the weapon was in first episode, if you know tell me) . After this they were just dumped through the portal in whatever dimension, those bad guys couldn’t care less honestly.
And that’s how 2012 Leo, Raph, Mickey and Donnie got into Rise!dimension. But…!!! They happened to appear in Hidden city long before Draxum’s mutant warriors were even in plans. Weapons were passed from hand to hand, but never stayed long with one holder. Different yokai complained about seeing and hearing strange things the more they used the weapons. But with every next holder it was getting more and more obvious that these weapons were not just haunted, but possessed mystic powers. With this rumours going around Hidden city about ōdachi that can creat portals and tonfās that make you bigger and stronger, that’s how Baron Draxum found out about them and decided that he wanted them in his collection.
And would you believe me when I tell that that’s where Draxum got the idea for his human-destruction warriors to be turtles? When he tried to use kusari-fundo and saw a vision of a ninja-looking turtle yokai that was yelling at him to be freed and was challenging him to a fight! He was mesmerised by this creature’s body structures, the possibility of a shell to be a natural protection, ability to breathe underwater. It was a perfect choice of an animal for a warrior to be mutated from!
That’s where 13 years later, our rise!bois are coming into view! Story goes the same as in the “Mystic mayhem” episode, except…. When rise!turtles tried to use their new mystic weapon and it was malfunctioning, it was mostly cause it was their first time using it, but also cause 12!brothers were being kinda salty about not being used for over a decade and they were trying to get some fun out of all this situation. After all, who could have known that their new holders are gonna finally help them reunite with each other. Not right away, but in time…
And if you’re asking yourself right now “But what about Donnie?” Well…remember how he didn’t take the “glowy weapon”? Yeah, at some point in the story they’ll have to go back to Draxum’s destroyed lab and hope that 12!Donnie and stuff he’s in did survive the explosion.
But for now R!Donnie is just like:

Can I please get some headcanons of the bayverse turtles and how they act when they see their s/o starts hanging out with a friend who clearly has feelings for them but s/o is a bit oblivious🙏
Ooff! I smell trouble! Can someone keep them away from the knives? Also, I'd like to clarify that I support Donnie in his rights and his wrongs.
Leo
He's initially too cocky to be jealous.
And then you start bringing this person up all the time.
You have a friend whom you watch movies with? Cute.
Oh, you went to a bookstore the other day and then got ice cream Fun! They can take you to public places, haha, not wrenching at all.
He's totally chill about it!
He would be so passive-aggressive about the matter 💀
It's pretty funny watching him struggle to keep composure when all he wants to do is swift his katana across their throat.
"Wait- are you jealous?" you ask at some point, in disbelief.
He snickers.
"Me? Of course not. But you do realize they have feelings for you, right?"
He's so bitter
You snort. "What? No! They're just a friend."
"He looks at you like you're a snack," Leo insisted.
"And am I not?" you tease.
"Yeah, but you're my snack."
Raph
Breaking news! That guy's not your friend anymore.
At least not if you wanna keep him as a boyfriend, because how are you gonna go around hanging out with someone who has feelings for you?
"Come on babe, you're overreacting. He's just a friend."
Oh, he will freakin' lose his cool. Narrowed eyes, deep frown, clenched jaw. All the package. How can you be so oblivious?
"Look, I know it sucks for me to ask this, but, would you stop seeing him?" he would ask, cringing at himself. "It makes me uncomfortable," he added, for once in his life following Donnie's advice, as he was working on being a healthy boyfriend for you.
You smile, touching his cheek, "I would never do something that makes you uncomfortable, Raph. I'll talk to him. I can't promise you I'm cutting contact from one day to the other, but I'll do my best."
Yeah, that's enough.
Donnie
Donnie doesn't follow his own advice.
That guy was glued to your side all the freaking time.
"He's just a friend!"
"Please, even Casey can tell he has feelings for you. You're smart. I don't know why you're the only one who won't see it," he grumbled.
You dismissed it, but Donnie had a master plan to get rid of that prick.
"I'm building this new machine to prevent electrocutions in areas with protruding wires in the lair. I just need to test if the insulating materials work," he tells your friend casually. "Do you want to help me test it?"
And what you see in the future of that interaction is your friend electrocuted.
"Donnie, hun, can we talk?"
After you distance yourselves a couple of meters you begin:
"Please tell me you weren't planning to electrocute him."
"As I said, I was just testing my new creation. Any side effects it may have caused would have been a sacrifice for scientific purposes."
"Donnie!"
"Alright! I'm sorry. It bothers me, okay? I can see him lusting for you, and it bothers me. But I didn't want to appear controlling, nor did I want to hurt you by forcing you to cut off a friendship."
You sigh. "No, I'm sorry. I should've known it made you this uneasy. I won't keep it up." you assured.
He gives you a tiny smile. "Thank you."
"No need to. Let's go back," you say before chuckling. "I can't believe you were gonna do that."
Donatello scoffs. "Please, it wasn't gonna kill him."
Mikey
Your best friend is fun to be around! :)
But he has feelings for you :(
And you haven't noticed! Mikey doesn't want to have that conversation just yet.
Yeah, it doesn't sit well with him, but Mikey, you know, he has excellent self-esteem, and he's sure that you love him and him only.
So, while it isn't the most fun situation, he's willing to tolerate this friendship as long as you always give him his place as your boyfriend.
And as long as you and your friend don't hang out alone. Not because he doesn't trust you but because he wants to avoid this friend making a move that might make you uncomfortable.
Such a sweetheart, 10/10
But don't betray him bc he'll dump your ass.

How and what happens if the reader was pregnant during mating season and had all of the other kids?
Big family and big… week? Lol
Sudden Mating Season (18+)
Bayverse!Turtles x reader
Tumblr media
A/N: I think that most of the kids are products of some… successful mating seasons. I mean, that’s what the mating seasons are for, right? It is also my belief that the guys' mating seasons will take a bit of a back burner after they’ve had children, but that doesn’t mean it’ll last forever (I mean, haven’t you noticed the 10 years between Valentina and Gerardo?). But honestly I think it would be somewhat well planned out, with the kids going to their grandparents for the week.
Tumblr media
Warnings: Implied sex, planned/unplanned pregnancy.
Tumblr media
Leonardo:
Tumblr media
After you and Leonardo’s third child, his mating seasons seemed to have taken a calm for good. Leo’s animalistic instinct to spread his seed in order to create offsprings calmed with the birth of Gerardo. So that was it, you and Leo thought. No longer would you have to send your kids off to their grandparents for a whole week, so you and Leo could go at it inside your shared bedroom. So for the next many years, you and Leo would bring your kids along to April and Casey’s farm house for a family vacation, leaving the lair to the other turtles and their partners as they went through their season. That went on every year, until Leo’s brothers too no longer felt their season creep upon them during the spring. And with that, none of the people in the lair seemed too concerned about spring time, thinking that those days were nothing but the past.
But then, 10 years after the birth of your third child, things changed once again. Leo woke up the day before May with a strange feeling inside of him. His senses were heightened, and he felt the intense need to… oh no.
You woke up to Leo shaking you awake in the early hours of the morning, almost seeming frantic, stress painted over his face.
“Call your parents”, he said urgently.
“What? Why? What’s happening?”, you asked in confusion, feeling concern take the place of your tiredness.
“It’s back”, Leo said, already sounding very drained, breathing heavily as if he was suffering. “I’m not sure how or why, but it’s back. It can be here at any moment”.
You stared at him for some time, trying to figure out what he was talking about. But then it clicked in your head, remembering the last time you had seen Leo like this. Spring time 10 years ago.
“I’ll call them, and tell them to take the kids”, you said, quickly grabbing your phone before leaving for the hallway.
“Thank you”, Leo sighed, rubbing his hands over his face. He already felt horrible. Like he was a young teenager experiencing his first mating season all over again. Here he thought he had heard the last of it, but nope. He could feel his season creep closer and closer, threatening to take over at any moment.
Luckily for you and Leo, your parents agreed to take the kids for the week. You did not have to tell them what was going on. They understood straight away, having been through this several times before.
Your parents quickly came by and picked up the kids, Leo’s brothers quickly understanding what was going on, making sure that none of their kids would walk too close to your hallway. You hugged your boys goodbye, calming Gerardo’s worries quickly, when he asked if his father was okay. Poor boy, he had never tried this before, and he had obviously noticed that his father wasn’t doing too well. Romeo and Marcello had looked at you with a grossed out expression, exclaiming loudly that they did not want to be the ones that explained the season to their little brother. Luckily you didn't have to worry about that, before your parents took the boys out of the lair.
You and Leo found yourselves locked up in your room, in a way you hadn’t done in years. And when the week was over, Leo was once again calm, excited to be with his boys again the next day. But as you cleaned yourself up and decided to take a pregnancy test, just out of pure mating season habits, you were shocked at the outcome. You were now pregnant with your fourth child, and never again would Leo experience another mating season.
Raphael:
Tumblr media
You woke up to the feeling of Raph’s lips traveling down your back, his big hand massaging the flesh of your hips. You hummed and tried to push Raph’s hand away, pulling the blanket up around you.
“Not right now, Raphie”, you mumbled, your eyes still closed. “The girls can wake up at any moment”.
Raph chuckled in his raspy morning voice, grabbing onto you a bit firmer pulling you closer to him, his breath fanning over the side of your neck as he spoke into your ear sending shivers down your spine.
“Have you already forgotten your parents picked them up yesterday?”, he asked, burying his face against the crock of your neck, trailing kisses down your shoulder.
Your eyes opened in an instant, remembering what Raph was talking about. Your parents had been over yesterday, eating lunch with you, Raph and the girls, before they brought Joan and Mini with them, just like they did any other spring. And that’s when your sleepy brain caught up with Raph’s hand that was running down from your hip to the inside of your thigh. It was springtime.
“I guess I have”, you smiled, focusing on the feeling of the thick green finger that was playing with the edge of your panties. “What about the others? Are they home?”
“Nope”, Raph smiled, taking in your scent like it was a drug he was addicted to. “They are either with the inlaws or in April and Casey’s farm house”.
“So we’re all alone?”, you asked with a hint of amusement in your voice.
“Yup”, Raph hummed, pulling your thigh closer to him, the back of your thigh coming into contact with his now slick cloaca. Excitement building up inside of you, knowing that he could drop at any moment. “So I’ll not let you hold any of your beautiful sounds back”.
You turned, just enough so that you could look at Raph’s face, his pupils blown out with lust as he buckled slightly against you in an attempt to create some friction where he needed it the most.
“Do your worst”, you teasted, giving Raph the green light, letting him jump on you as you let out a playful yelp.
Around a week later, your parents brought Joan and Minerva back to the lair, greeting you and Raph with big hugs and bright smiles, along with new toys and many detailed stories.
7 year old Joan was telling you and Raph about a movie she saw with your parents over lunch, while 3 year old Mini played with the new monster truck she had gotten, making it jump over her plate of apple slices.
You and Raph were engaging Joan in her story, while keeping an eye out for Mini’s monster truck, but then a scent made its way to Raph’s beak. He did a few sniffs before turning his attention towards you, the gear turning in his head as he tried to remember the last time you had smelled like that. Then he realized what he was smelling, what hormones were starting to flow through your system and what it meant.
“You’re pregnant?!”, he exclaimed, looking somewhat shocked, you and your daughters staring at him in confusion.
But Raph was right. When you took a test later that day, you were delighted to learn that you indeed were pregnant once again.
Donatello:
Tumblr media
For the first few years after Galileo’s birth, you and Donnie did not think that you wanted more children. After Gali came to the world, it took four years before Donnie’s mating season came back, and with that, a desire for more children. However, much to you and Donnie’s dismay, you did not become pregnant with his first returning mating season. After a whole week locked up in your bedroom, you were still not pregnant. But that didn’t stop you and Donnie from trying. Even during the outside of your husband’s season, you would try whenever it was possible.
But then, when spring came around once more and Donnie could feel his season creep up once again, your parents happily took Gali with them to their vacation home out of state. On their way out, you and Donnie pretended not to hear their comment about how they were hoping that this would bring them more grandchildren. How lucky you were that Gali didn’t seem to catch on. That was not a conversation you were ready for yet.
After a whole week of non-stop sex, you were more than sore. Your whole body ached as you moved around in the bed, still not willing to get up. Donnie chuckled at the sight, pulling you closer with a pleased smile.
“You okay there?”, he asked, pressing a soft kiss to your temple.
“No”, you muffled, hiding your face against his plastron. “Everything hurts, and-”. You cut yourself off with the sudden nausea that fell over you. Even though your body hurt, you wasted no time running towards the toilet. Donnie was right on your heels, holding your hair back as you started to throw up into the toilet bowl. Though your discomfort was obvious, Donnie could hold back his smile when the scent of your hormones reached him. You were finally pregnant.
“It looks dark”, 5 year old Gali said, watching the monitor in front of him. You and Donnie chuckled at him. How adorable could a child be?
“I haven’t even started yet”, Donnie said as he turned on the ultrasound, the monitor coming to life.
“Then huuuuuurryyyyy!”, Gali whined, jumping impatiently in front of the monitor. He wanted to get a view of his new younger sibling as fast as possible.
Donnie placed the ultrasound on your stomach before moving it around over your almost second trimester baby bump. A picture formed on the monitor, and Gali smiled excitedly.
“You see that?”, Donnie asked, and pointed out a slight circle on the screen. “That’s their head, and here… is… another head…?”
“What did you just say?”, you asked somewhat alarmed.
Donnie moved the ultrasound a little further to get a better look, his confusion turning to shock and happiness, his eyes looking to you with joy written all over them.
“Twins”, he mumbled, tears of joy forming at the corners of his eyes. “We’re having twins”.
Michelangelo:
Tumblr media
“So!”, Mikey said, turning to you with a mischievous smile, closing the bedroom door behind him, making his way closer to you. “Your parents have just left with Sunny, and the others are either hiding in their rooms. You know what that means”.
“Cuddles and a good movie?”, you asked innocently, knowing very well that wasn’t what Mikey talked about. His blown out pupils and his flaring nostrils made it very clear that he was fighting not to jump on you, his instinct taking a stronger and stronger hold on him. It wasn’t long before he couldn’t hold back anymore.
“Wrong!”, Mikey exclaimed with a smile, wrapping his arms around you as he pulled you closely against him, his lips finding yours in a heated kiss. “It is baby making time!”
You chuckled against Mikey’s lips, soon finding that your chuckles turned to pleased hums as he backed you over towards the bed. The same bed you would be stuck in for the rest of the week.
For a long time now, Mikey had been wanting another child. While his brothers seemed to have calmed down a little after the birth of their children, their mating season being absent for a few years afterwards, Mikey’s did not. You went straight from one pregnancy to yet another mating season, where you and Mikey did your best to become pregnant once again. But nothing had happened for the past two years, so you were now hoping that the third time would be the lucky time. So when Mikey pushed you down onto the bed, you welcomed him with open arms, giggling as he crawled in between your legs.
A little over a week later, you, Mikey and Sunny found yourselves resting in the living area. You and Mikey were seated on the couch with Sunny between you, the 3 year old keeping herself entertained by walking back and forth between you, her legs wobbling on the soft couch cushions, laughing loudly whenever she would tumble into one of you. You and Mikey couldn’t help but laugh along with her, happy to see your daughter smile as bright as she did everyday, warmth filling both of your hearts.
Sunny then tumbled on the soft couch, her head butting straight into your hip, making you worry that she had gotten hurt. But Sunny did not cry. Instead she stared at your hip area in confusion, giving no thought to you and Mikey’s soft hands on her head or your careful words, asking if she was okay.
“Why do you smell like that, mommy?”, she asked, her small face contorted in a small frown.
“What do you mean?”, you asked, looking to Mikey for an explanation. Could he smell anything?
Mikey gave the air a sniff, trying to figure out what his daughter was talking about. He then jumped from the couch, his eyes wide with happiness and a joyful skip to his steps, making Sunny laugh once more.
“Babe!”, he exclaimed. “You’re pregnant!”
“What?!”, you asked in disbelief, but before Mikey could answer you, he pulled you and Sunny from the couch, holding you both close as he spun you around in circles, Sunny continued laughter, ringing out in the lair, catching the attention of the rest of its inhabitants.
“You’re pregnant!”, he yelled out, placing a quick kiss on your cheek. “We’re gonna have another child! Did you hear that, Sunny? You’re going to be a big sister!”

Four days of Leo.
You were upset that Din was leaving you but you got over it rather quickly with the promise of his hasty return.
The morning he’d left you’d gone back to bed, you couldn’t think of anything to do without him so you just slept, dismissing the girls when they came to dress you. Your makeshift bed is colder than ever as you toss and turn for a few minutes before finally rising. You managed to find a dress that wouldn’t require much assistance to put on, stepping into it before leaving only to find Leodall waiting outside your door.
“Can I help you?” You give him a perplexed look as he clears his throat.
“I’ve been tasked with protecting you while the Mandalorian is away.”
What the hell is Leo supposed to do if you’re in danger?
“Is this Kodo’s doing?” You fight back the frown that threatens to form on your face.
“No ma’am. The Mandalorian instructed me to keep an eye on you.”
Bastard.
Of course he didn’t tell you Leo was going to be watching you while he was gone, he knew you’d be livid, which you are. You know better than to fight this, Leo’s terrified of Din, he’ll do whatever he asks of him. With a sigh you begin to make your way to the library, hearing his flustered steps behind you.
You don’t want to be stuck with him in the library all day so you simply grab a handful of books before making a hasty return to your room. Much to your chagrin, he follows you in, keeping a watchful eye on you as you read.
He does all sorts of nonsense.
He sweeps, and dusts, and fusses. Nothing is ever clean enough for him. You tell him it’s fine dozens of times but he just won’t stop insisting. He takes the sheets off the bed to be washed despite you telling him you don’t even sleep there.
His orange complexion goes damn near white when he discovers that you’ve been sleeping on the closet floor. You explain to him with as much patience as you can muster that nothing he can do will stop you from sleeping in there and you find a compromise where he thoroughly washes every single blanket, sheet, and pillow while you try not to scowl at him.
And he won’t stop talking.
He doesn’t seem to take the hint. You can sigh and groan as much as you want to when you look up over your book at him but he just keeps going.
The only time he goes silent is when you have to attend dinner with your husband. Leo accompanies you as Din would, standing behind you as you take your seat at the dining hall table.
Kodo looks… tired?
You’ve seen plenty of emotions on that smug face of his, but exhaustion? Never.
“Let’s make this quick.” He doesn’t even look at you as he takes a swig of whatever’s in his mug. You don’t grace him with a verbal response, just a nod and a hum as you take a sip from your own glass, hoping the water will soothe your nerves.
They don’t even bring out any food as he writes something down, shuffling through the papers in front of him.
“I don’t have a lot of time today…” He finally looks up at you, there are bags under his eyes and you can’t help but wonder what’s gotten to a man who seemingly cares about nothing. “Let’s get started, shall we?” He sits up a little straighter, giving you that smile you’ve grown to hate more than anything else in this castle. “My father is ill.”
“I’m so sorry, my prince.” Your sympathies are emotionless, you don’t remember what his father is like. If he’s anything like the rest of his relatives you’re certain you wouldn’t care for him.
“Don’t be, this is a good thing.” Of course his father’s sickness would be a positive to him. “They’ve already transferred many of his royal duties over to me.” Hence the exhaustion. “This is a very good thing, wife. You could be queen by the end of the month.” Your stomach lurches at the thought.
Being queen means making heirs.
“How wonderful.” You stare at him, really taking him in for the first time in a while. Maybe it’s just because you know exactly how ugly he can be but right now you have to wonder how anyone considers him attractive. You don’t even know what Din looks like but you know that purely based on his actions that he’s more attractive to you than this.
“I don’t have much else for you, you are excused.” You blink at him a few times as he says it before shooting a confused look at Leo who looks as puzzled as you.
“You don’t want to have dinner?” You try to not sound excited at the idea of leaving already as he nods.
“I already ate.” He’s already ignoring you all over again, his eyes back on his work as he waves you off.
So you go back to your room, smiling the entire time.
You read, you eat when Leo brings you food, and you sleep.
And that’s the routine.
For nearly a week that’s what you do.
You wake, you let Leo in when he knocks, you deal with it when he fusses, and you sleep.
But really what you spend most of your time doing is missing Din.
You miss the way he smells, and the way he balances you out. It feels like you’re missing an integral part of yourself, you’ve grown so accustomed to his constant presence and the sudden lack of it is jarring. He made the castle feel like home and without him it returned to its former glory, a prison.
Just as promised he returns, you’d hoped it would have been sooner but you’re just happy he’s back. You’d assumed the moment you laid eyes on him that you’d jump his bones immediately, but all you could think about was just how happy you were to see him.
You just want to be with him.
So you do just that.
And you take care of him, because it makes you happy to care for him the way he does for you. You don’t ask him about the trip, you know he’ll tell you about it when he’s ready.
In the morning you hold him tight, and you tell him what you were told at dinner. That the king is sick, and you both know what that means.
Despite the looming darkness, the morning is relatively normal after that.
Until you get to the library.
He’d been staring at you for some time and you were just about to ask if he was okay when he spoke.
“Do you know what riduur means?”
Spouse.
You’d seen it in the book while he was away. You’d focused on learning words that would most likely be relevant to your life with him.
“No, I don’t think I learned that.” You’re mostly just curious if he’ll actually tell you.
“It means partner, or spouse.” He sounds nervous, it makes your heart skip a beat.
“Oh. Okay…”
He nods and you can’t help but be disappointed at his lack of followup. You try not to stare, keeping an eye on him as you return to your own book, in your peripherals you can see that he doesn’t even try to pretend to read, he’s just staring at you again. You get ready to shut your eyes when he starts playing with his helmet controls but he doesn’t remove it, instead he takes your face in his hands.
“Can I ask you something?” There’s no modulation as you hear his raw, unfiltered voice. His thumbs rub small circles into your jaw.
Is this happening? Now? Or is he joking around again?
“Of course.” You’ve been ready since the first time you thought this was happening.
“Do you remember when I described the fear of love to you?”
Definitely not a joke.
“Yes.” You couldn’t possibly forget it, you still feel it everyday.
“Do you ever feel that fear?”
Every single second of every single day.
“Yes.”
“I don’t want you to.” He releases your face, taking your hands in his instead. “I don’t want to either.”
If he’s about to break up with you again you’re gonna kill him. You might actually push him out the window, he’ll be fine, he has his pack.
“I don’t want our lives to be that. I want to leave, soon.” You sit up in his lap, the nook is a mess of tangled limbs and fabric from the skirt of your gown at this point. “B- but I want us to do something before we leave.” He’s usually so put together when he talks to you like this. Slow, well calculated words, but he’s stuttering a bit now, his voice nearly cracking as you give his hands a reassuring squeeze.
“Okay.”
“Okay.” He repeats, nodding to himself before the helmet tilts up with a whisper of your name, it’s the first time you’ve heard your real last name and not Harand, in a long time. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” You really do.
“I have lived my entire life in hiding, behind masks and walls.” He takes your hand, bringing it to the lip of his helmet as he takes your fingertips, bringing them under it to hold them to his lips. “I can’t, and I won’t do that forever. I have said it before and I will say it again, I have no secrets from you.” Are you holding your breath? The tightness in your chest makes you feel like you are. “And you deserve a much more profound proclamation of devotion but I’m worried that if I try to do that I’ll lose my nerve. So instead I’ll just say it, and I’ll spend the rest of my days after this showing you just how devoted I am.” He reaches under his cowl, producing a small chain from around his neck, he fiddles with the clasp for a moment before holding it out towards you. Two silver rings hang from the chain. “Sarad’ika, let me spend the rest of my days with you.” He sets the rings in your hand.
You’re briefly waiting for formal words but you realize those aren’t coming. This is more than a marriage. This is an oath to each other, a permanent bond of devotion.
“Of course.” You whisper, closing your hand around the bands before swiftly removing his glove, pulling him to your lips to place a kiss to his palm. “Of course, Din.”
You stare into that thin black visor, the both of you just taking a moment to take each other in. And for a brief moment you get a glimpse of the life you could have together.
A chance at something real.
Freedom.
A house.
A family.
“Mhi solus tome, mhi solus dar'tome, mhi me'dinui an, mhi ba'juri verde.” He murmurs, barely above a whisper.
“What’s that mean?”
“Mandalorian wedding vows. I can teach them to you if you’d like.”
“What does it mean?”
"We are one when together, we are one when parted, we will share all, we will raise warriors."
You want him to take the helmet off.
You’ve never felt such a strong urge to be face to face with him, to really truly see him in this moment. To know him and to be known.
“And I want you to look.” He voices your own thoughts as he brings your hands to his helmet and you lean forward on instinct, pressing your forehead to the cool steel. You stare at the beskar mask. You’ve spent so much time wondering what lies beneath it but now you know that you don’t care, you imagine him as you’ve felt him beneath your hands. You tumble forward, wrapping your arms around his neck. You lift his helmet just enough to kiss him, to feel that warm familiar heat against you.
“I want to do it soon, I don’t want to wait any longer.” He murmurs once his helmet is properly situated once more.
“Absolutely.”
“One week from today. Elaine and I will plan everything and we can leave that night.” A week?
“So soon?”
“It’s for the best.” You settle against his chest so you’re staring out the window at the palace grounds. Just holding each other for a few minutes until you finally speak.
“It’s silly, but I actually think I’m gonna miss this place.”
“Really?”
“Not this place specifically, I won’t miss this far too large castle, and I won’t miss the arranged marriage of it all, but I’ll miss all the other parts.” You twist around in his arms to face him. “I’ll miss Lysa and Elaine, and the cabin, and being here, in the nook.” His grip on you tightens in an attempt to bring you comfort. “I’m really going to miss the people.” You are suddenly aware of just how fond you’ve become of the people of Naboo. You truly love and care for your subjects and a part of you is going to miss them terribly.
“I’m sorry.” He truly sounds apologetic.
“Don’t be. None of it compares to you, Mr. Djarin.” You don’t want him to dwell on any sadness you may have because none of it compares to how badly you want to spend the rest of your life with him.
“Whatever you say, Mrs. Djarin.” He mimics your tone.
“You can’t call me that yet.”
“But it suits you.”
You wear your ring like he does. On your necklace. He keeps his on the thin silver chain and you keep yours on the cord with the silver flower charm.
You have one full week to prepare.
Din assures you that he’ll take care of all the logistical parts of your escape, he says he’s got a plan and you leave it at that, trusting him to handle it. You make yourself a five day schedule.
Day one, which is today, your engagement day, you will spend packing and gathering whatever you wish to take with you, you both agree to each take one bag and nothing else to make things as easy as possible.
Day two, Elaine is going to fit you for a gown while Din finishes his preparations for your departure.
For your third day you’ve convinced Din to take you into the city to say goodbye. You want to see the markets and you want to see the people, one last time.
On day four, you will have to attend your final dinner with your current husband.
And on day five you will be married. Elaine supposedly knows a pastor who works in a chapel just at the edge of the castle grounds. She has told him that the Mandalorian wishes to wed a servant girl, when the sun sets you will meet him there, your face concealed and just like that, you’ll be wed.
When he explains it to you it all seems so simple but actually making it through the week is much harder.
You don’t pack any clothes, Din says you’ll just get new ones when the two of you find somewhere to settle. You plan on wearing a simple tunic and pants, you’ll change after the ceremony and you’ll have your honeymoon once you’re safe and off planet.
You’ve been wearing the necklace Din got you for a while now you don’t have to worry about that. Otherwise you don’t honestly have many belongings. You grab a few books from the library you’ve been meaning to read, tucking them into the canvas bag he brought for you. You pack a blanket and a few pieces of jewelry you think might be valuable before buttoning it shut, handing it off to Din to be tucked away in the cabin.
You can’t help but feel like you’re forgetting something but you push the thought away.
That night, when you’re laying with Din in the closet you hold the rings up together, staring at the intricate detailing in a way you haven’t gotten a chance to do yet. You rest your chin on his chest in the dim lamp light as you watch the way the flickering bulb reflects off the silver.
The outsides are rather pretty, matching patterns of swirls and vines, miscellaneous flowers adorn the band. The insides are different though, both carved with the same word you vaguely remember from your book.
Riduurok
It represents a love bond.
The difference is specifically that yours has a very small carving of a mudhorn, a sigil you recognize from his armor, while his is engraved with a flower. A piece of each of you.
“They’re beskar.” He says softly. His helmet resting on your bare chest.
“Like your armor? Isn’t this only supposed to be used on Mandalorians?” You drop his ring and focus back on your own.
“They make exceptions.” He yawns, he still hasn’t fully recovered from the exhaustion of his trip and you wonder if he slept at all when he was gone.
“Is this why you left? To get these?”
“Not just anyone can forge beskar, I needed to seek out an old friend to do it.” He adjusts himself a bit, fiddling with his helmet.
“They did a beautiful job.” You close your eyes as you say it, hearing his helmet hit the floor and his face taking its place against you as he lays back down.
“She always does.” He reaches over, turning the lamp off.
“Why a mudhorn?” He laughs when you ask, rolling over so he’s on his side, still holding you.
And before you fall asleep, he tells you a story.
In the morning Din leaves you with a kiss on the forehead to go handle the final preparations of your departure while Elaine arrives with her seamstress kit and bundles of white fabric.
You want your own dress for this.
Not one of the ones tailored to you and paid for with Kodo’s money.
She takes your measurements in silence, her face contorted in concentration as she notes everything. From the looks of it, she already has a good portion of the dress finished.
It’s gorgeous.
Pale, sheer fabric lined with dainty little dots. The skirt is layered, flowing freely when she pins it against your figure, fitting it to you perfectly.
“Elaine… this is beautiful, when did you find the time to make this?”
“I started it a while ago, I hoped you’d like it.” She smiles and it feels almost normal. Like two friends just looking out for each other.
“I love it, thank you, I don’t know how I’m going to repay you for everything you’ve done.”
“You’ve done enough just by being kind to me, princess.” He manages to speak clearly even when she’s holding pins between her teeth.
“Please, you don’t have to call me that, call me by my name.”
And she does.
When she finishes the dress you have to fight back tears, not just because of how wonderful of a job she’s done, but because of the sentiment of it all.
“Will you come to the wedding? You and Lysa?” You take her hands in yours, as you stare at yourself in the mirror, white lace falling off your shoulders in beautiful layers.
“If you’d like.”
“Nothing would make me happier. You give her hands a squeeze and she helps you out of the gown, after about an hour Din returns from his day spent finding you passage off of Naboo, laying down beside you in the closet, you’re in only your undergarments since you didn’t bother changing after Elaine was done.
“I missed you.” He mumbles as he crawls across the sheets towards you.
“You always miss me.” He just laughs when you sit up on your elbows to smile at him.
“I got us a ship.” He murmurs, you barely get a chance to cover your eyes before his helmet is off, his mouth on yours as he climbs on top of you.
“Where’s it taking us?” You gasp out when he finally pulls back, tugging at the latches on his armor as he sits up on his knees.
“Wherever we want. It’s a cargo ship, making multiple stops throughout the outer rim, we’ll be able to get off whenever.” You listen, eyes still shut, counting as each piece of armor is set on the floor until the last one is off.
“What about our great escape? What’s the story?” His knee slides between your legs as he crawls back on top of you, holding himself above you so you have to strain your neck to kiss him.
“The princess ran off on her own volition. She was unhappy for a long time and finally couldn’t take it anymore.” He pulls back just enough that you can’t find him without your sight, whining as you slump back against the pillows. “Elaine will spread whatever rumors she needs to to make it true.”
“What about her loyal Mandalorian bodyguard?” You reach up, opting to just pull him down to you instead of trying to find him yourself.
“He was embarrassed, ran away with his tail between his legs because he accidentally lost the princess.” He lets you pull him against you, his face finding a place under your jaw, his stubble brushing against your neck as he does.
“Didn’t realize he was such a coward.” You let out a breathless laugh as his chin brushes against a particularly ticklish part of your throat.
“Apparently he was a real baby about that kind of thing.” You feel a soft bite emphasizing his words as his teeth graze your skin.
“What a shame.”
“Truly.” He ends the back and forth when his mouth dips between your breasts, licking a strip of the skin there before sliding lower. “Do you have any other plans tonight?”
You just cleared your whole schedule.
“Nope.”
“Perfect, I thought we could do some married couple practice?” He lifts your legs up, resting them on your shoulders as he presses several tender kisses to your thighs.
“Married couple practice?” You’d do just about anything he wanted you to right now as long as he doesn’t stop what he’s doing.
“Well we’re gonna be married in just a few days, we should probably practice.” There’s a brief shuffling as he tosses his gloves aside before hooking a finger on your panties, you’re waiting for him to tug them down but instead you just hear a few rips and feel his breath against your mound.
“I don’t exactly get what that entails…” Your words are shaky as he runs his thumb along the crease between your thigh and your cunt.
“Well I was thinking all day, you know, while I was busy missing you.” He finally puts his mouth on you and it’s barely enough. His fingers spread you open as he leans forward, placing a single chaste kiss onto your clit that makes you jump a bit.
“Of course.” Your voice pitches up a bit.
“And I was thinking about how I’d probably come back here and we’d talk a little like we normally do, and then we’d probably have sex like we normally do.” He still doesn’t put his mouth on you, you just feel his breath against you, making your pussy ache and your clit throb.
“So far so good.” Are you even speaking loud enough for him to hear you?
“But then I realized that we’re gonna be married soon, so I thought we should probably start acting like it.” He leans forward just enough for his nose to bump against your clit.
“Yeah?” Your hands tangle in his hair in an instant.
“Yeah. You know, typical married people things, I ask you how your day was, you tell me it was fine, and then we have boring married people sex.” He tilts his head to the side a bit, just enough to relieve any of the pressure against your core as you try desperately to pull him into you.
“What is boring married people sex?” You ask, strained and breathless.
“You lay on your back and I do my thing until I finish inside you, because married people have kids, that’s what they do.” Finally, finally, his tongue drags along your seam before dipping into your weeping hole, your back arching as you groan.
“Obviously.”
“You probably won't finish, I’m pretty sure that’s part of it.” He mumbles against you before pressing his tongue deeper into you.
“Well that doesn’t seem fair.” Your eyes are squeezed shut as he works you open, slowly, your cunt leaking as he laps at whatever he can.
“Marriage is all about compromise.” He pulls back, a little breathless himself now before wrapping his arms around your legs, nuzzling his face between your legs before wrapping his lips around your clit, leisurely sucking until you can’t hold back the obscene moan that forces its way out of you.
“How is that a compromise?” You finally manage to grumble through your haze, the coil in your stomach tightens just as he comes up for air, resting his head on your thigh.
“I don’t know, it just is- dank farrik- missed you- your taste.” His own voice is nearly as needy as your own as he leans back down into you, his tongue swirling around that little bundle of nerves until you feel like you're about to explode.
“Being married… sounds awful.” Your chest heaves and your thighs tighten around his head as he sinks two fingers into you, briefly pulling back with a small gasp.
“We’ll make it work.” He curls his fingers, chuckling when you tighten around him.
“Maybe that’s the compromise.” You muse as he flattens his tongue against your clit.
“Making it- making it work?” You’re so fucking close, if you could just get him to stop talking and focus you’d be able to finish.
“Yeah, maybe the compromise is making boring married sex work for both of us.” You stammer again, desperate for him to just send you over that edge.
“I suppose we could try that.” He flicks his tongue against you one last time before withdrawing his fingers, you whimper the moment he does. “Are you going to come?” He knows exactly what he’s doing, and that you are. You nod with a breathy whine and he pulls back entirely, sitting up.
“If you want me to marry you you better stop whatever it is you’re doing.” You spit the words out quickly, desperate to pull him back in.
“If you want to come you better not make jokes like that.” He teases but you know he’s incapable of denying you anything.
“Fine, fine, just- come here.” You hold your arms out towards him and he eagerly crawls back into them, slotting himself between your thighs as he spreads your legs wide to accommodate him. You arch your back and shift your hips to the best of your ability, trying to get some kind of relief against him but he pulls back just enough to prevent it.
“How was your day?” You can feel his grin as he leans down, kissing along your jaw slowly as you paw at his chest.
“It was great, wonderful.” You gasp out as you feel him drag the head of his cock through your folds, coating himself in the abundant wetness there.
“Now ask me about my day.” He notches himself at your entrance, not pushing in just yet but enough to make you squirm in an attempt to take matters into your own hands unsuccessfully.
“I’m gonna kill you.” Your voice is already ragged and strained at this point but when he still doesn’t move you sigh. “How was your day?” The moment you finish your sentence he pushes into you in one smooth motion, burying himself to the hilt with a groan from both of you.
“It was fine.” He mumbles before almost immediately finding a rhythm, pumping himself inside you with deep deliberate thrusts. His forehead presses against yours as he lets out a breathy whine.
This certainly doesn’t feel boring.
He takes hold of your hips, raising them slightly so he can angle himself to slam against your g-spot, twisting your body until you let out a particularly strained moan and he knows he’s found it. Your brain is already mush just from the sheer speed at which he started fucking you, giving you no time to adjust, so all you manage to mumble is his name.
“You- you want me to fill you up? He rasps out.
You nod for a moment until you remember the darkness that you’re both in and you manage to find your voice.
“Yes, please.” Your hand slips between your legs as you begin to rub slow circles into your clit but he takes your wrist and slowly pulls it away.
“I- I wanna see if- if you can come just like this.” He stammers out as he continues jackhammering into you, purposefully pushing himself into your g-spot as your walls flutter around him.
“Din…” You whine but he just keeps at it.
“I bet you can, I bet you’ll come when I do, when I fill you up, when I’m spilling out of you.” Your head is spinning from the repeated stimulation as he continues to focus on that sweet spot until you’re both falling apart. He’s exactly right. He comes first, snapping his hips forward until he’s nestled against your cervix. And when he’s done he slowly fucks his cum deeper into you, reveling in the lewd wet sounds and it only takes a moment more before you finish as well, gasping and strangling his cock as you clamp down on him.
When your breathing settles he turns onto his side, holding you against his chest before mumbling a sleepy I love you, so much. The two of you have been laying in silence for quite some time when you finally speak up.
“You know, married people sex is subjective.”
“Hmm?” He hums softly.
“Any sex we have after we’re married is married people sex, because we’ll be married people.”
“Mhmm.” He sounds like he’s barely awake but you just keep going.
“I don’t know why you assume it has to be boring.”
“Mmhm.” He continues to hum against your chest, a low rumble.
“Do you spend all your time away from me coming up with over complicated ways to put a baby in me?” You finally blurt out with a laugh, rubbing his back as you do.
“It worked, didn’t it?” He finally sits up a bit and speaks, his voice is heavy with exhaustion.
“Maybe I spend all my time thinking about the same thing and you just make it really easy for me to get what I want.” You’re still laughing softly.
“Does that mean you want to have more boring married people sex?” The fatigue in his voice dissolves quickly.
“Only if you stop calling it that. We aren’t boring married people and we are never going to be. We’re just going to be married people.”
“Mmm, I can make that work. Do you want to have more married people sex?” He starts to sit up on top of you again but you put a hand on his chest, pushing him so he’s laying down on his back.
“Absolutely I do.” You straddle his hips before reaching out into the darkness to take his face in your hands.
Today is the only day you’ve woken up sad since Din proposed.
Today you have to say goodbye to your favorite part of Naboo, the people. When you wake he’s already dressed, attaching the last of his armor before helping you up.
“I thought you might want to leave early, so we can spend as much time in the city as possible.” His voice is still thick with sleep as you get to your feet.
You tell Leo to bring you as many coin purses as he can before you leave and he returns with five rather hefty bags of credits that Din slips into his bag before you head out. You go through the usual process, bracelet and all the other hubbub before you begin your walk through the streets.
There’s a dull ache in your chest as you look around at the people. Your people.
The thought of never seeing them again, and never getting a chance to really help them. If you were queen you could do something about all of this, but you can’t stay long enough to do such a thing.
So you settle for this.
You hand out credits to anyone who will take them, saving a bag for Vivian's family. You embrace anyone who will let you, and you hold the hands of everyone you give credits to. And once four bags are empty you go to Vivian’s store and you play with Theo, and even though she protests for the better part of an hour you give her the fifth coin purse. And when the sun starts setting you hug her.
And you fight the urge to say goodbye because it doesn’t matter how much you trust her, no one can know that this is your last time visiting the city.
When you leave the store it’s clear how upset you’re becoming about all of this so Din takes you to the markets just as the sunsets and you get to see the changeover. You can’t technically go to the Lunar Markets without your cloak, it wouldn’t be a good look for a princess to be wandering through such a taboo place, but you stand just outside the first street and you watch all the lights flicker on.
Each string light going on at its one speed, dazzling flashes of light all dancing through the air until the entire street is illuminated.
It’s beautiful.
Yet you don’t feel better.
You just feel sad. Because you’ll never get to see it again.
So you walk, quietly with Din, back towards the castle.
“You’re upset.” His voice fills the silence almost immediately as you walk the empty street back.
“A bit.”
“Why?”
“Because I didn’t do anything. I’m royalty, I should have helped these people when I had the chance to.” You sigh, resting your shoulder against his.
“You did the best you could.” It sure doesn’t feel like it.
“And it still wasn’t enough.”
“You did more for them than any other member of the royal family has done in decades.” You have to fight the urge to take his hand in yours after that.
“You always know what to say.”
“Aren’t you that bitch from before?” A voice breaks through the small moment of peace and you and Din both turn quickly to see a vaguely familiar face. “Didn’t realize that you were royalty, doesn’t seem like much of a guard for a princess, one guy.” He nods at Din who immediately steps in front of you, silent.
You squint, trying to recall where you know him from when two other men step out from a nearby alley, flanking him. That’s when it clicks.
You recognize his welding goggles. And his greasy black hair.
He had accosted you many moons ago, in the market, Din had knocked him flat on his ass for it. Din takes a few steps in their direction, deliberate and deadly. It doesn’t matter how capable you know he is, you still don’t like the sight of him going up against a group of three.
“Look man, this doesn’t have to be a problem, we’ll even pay you for just a couple minutes with her.” The one you recognize quips and you feel sick at the insinuation.
“I’ve never been with a princess.” His friend on the left sneers and you instinctively take a step back. That’s all it takes to send Din over the edge though, you don’t even see the first hit, he moves so quickly. You just see the guy on the left hit the street, a gush of blood shooting out from his nose.
The other two hop into action immediately after, both standing with their arms held up defensively but it does them no good.
The one on the right is stupid enough to strike first, his fist hits beskar and he stumbles back with a yelp. Your eyes go wide when Din kicks his legs out from under him, he follows the first man as he hits the ground, his head knocking against the stones, in an instant he’s out cold.
You gasp at the suddenness of it all.
The one with the goggles loses all his bravado in an instant, he turns and you’re sure he’s about to run but he doesn’t get the chance, Dins hand wraps around his throat and he’s on the ground beside his friends, except he isn’t as lucky as his friends because the Mandalorian doesn’t relent. He boxes him in with his legs as he kneels, his fist slams against the other man's face repeatedly and your ears fill with a sickening crunching sound.
In all honesty you aren’t worried about anyone but Din right now, it isn’t just the man's face that’s making the breaking sounds, it’s his fist as well.
You rush over to them and put your hands on Din’s shoulders, he stops immediately before turning to look at you, his shoulders relax immediately and he reaches for you but he winces when he wraps his hand around your arm.
“Sorry, I don’t know what came over me.” He whispers softly and you nod.
“It’s okay, but we should go.” You rub his back a bit as he stands.
“I just need a second.”
“Okay. You nod, watching as he leans down, whispering something in the barely conscious man's ear, you don’t catch a word of it but when he’s done he stands and you both begin walking back towards the castle.
“I’m okay, I promise.” He groans as you usher him into the cabin. You’ve been fussing over him the entire walk back.
“Being married means not lying about this kind of thing.” You snap back at him as you open the door.
“I’m not lying, trust me, I’ve had much worse.” You know it’s true but that doesn’t mean you aren’t going to worry.
You frown, having him sit at the kitchen table as you carefully pull his gloves off, both knuckles are jagged and bloody.
“Kriff… do you have a first aid kit?”
“I promise, sarad, it’s fine.”
“Marriage means compromise.” You glare at him as he sighs and you cross your arms in front of your chest.
“Fine. In the fresher, there’s a loose board in the cupboard, pull it back and bring me the case that’s in there.” You cock an eyebrow at him before hurrying off to follow his instructions and sure enough you find it, a small metal case. You return to the main room, setting the box down on the table, watching as he fumbles with the lock. He flips the lid open before sliding the box over to you. Your jaw goes slack as you stare at several vials of bacta.
“Why do you have so much of this stuff?” You cringe at the memory of having to apply the sour substance to your split lip.
“For emergencies, which by the way, this is not.” You grab one of the vials as he gestures at his hands, uncorking it and dipping your finger into the slimy liquid before taking his hand in yours, applying a thin layer to it, watching the blood slowly mix with the bacta in crimson swirls.
“You’re hurt, this is an emergency.” He just sighs, letting you do your work, not even wincing one as you do so. When you’re done you recork the vial before putting it back in the case and returning it to its hiding place.
“Thank you.” He whispers when you come back to him, kneeling in front of the chair and helping him out of his armor as he keeps his hands on the table.
“What was that?” You grin up at him as he sighs again.
“Thank you.” He says a bit louder.
“You’re welcome.” You take the last of his armor off before standing. “Now come on, let’s lay down.” You wrap an arm around his waist as you walk to the mattress, helping him down as you keep his hands away from the sheets before laying down beside him, resting your head on his chest. You lean over and flip the lamp off before settling in beside him.
“Did you have a good day?” He whispers against you as you lay your head on his shoulder.
“I had a sad day, but it was still good.”
“I’m sorry you had to see that.” He mumbles in the darkness, his tone quickly turning to one of shame. .
“What? The fight? You were just doing what you always do, you were protecting me.” You let your fingertips roam across his chest in small circles in an attempt to soothe him.
“I should’ve- I shouldn’t have snapped like that. You shouldn’t have seen me like that.”
“Hey. I want to see you like that. I want to see all the parts of you, not just the pretty ones.” He doesn’t respond, and for a moment you have to wonder if you’ve upset him, but then you feel his chest rise and fall sharply a few times. Your hands fumble around until you find his face, the apples of his cheeks are a bit damp as you run your thumbs across them.
You aren’t really sure what to say. So you just go with what you know will make him understand just how okay everything is right now. It hasn’t been an easy week so far for either of you.
“I love you.” You whisper before leaning down to kiss him, your mouth thankfully finding his. “And I can’t wait to marry you.” You lay back down and feel his arms tighten around you, after a few minutes his breathing steadies out and you know he’s okay.
“I love you too.” Is the last thing you hear before you both fall asleep.
One last dinner with Kodo and then you never have to see him again.
That’s what you keep reminding Din as he tries to convince you it isn’t necessary, to which you remind him exactly what happened last time you didn’t attend dinner. Not that you aren’t just as worried as he is, of course you are, you’re just internalizing it better. Most people probably spend the day before their wedding stressing, it’s only natural.
So that’s exactly what you do today.
You stress.
You pace, and you stress until the sun is setting and Din is trying to persuade you one last time into not going which you ignore before the two of you walk the familiar trail to dinner.
You never know what to expect when you walk into the dining hall, but today you couldn’t be more pleased to find Kodo positively swamped. With his fathers condition worsening a fair amount of his royal duties now fall under his son's jurisdiction. He doesn’t look at you or Din when you arrive and you’re thrilled when you see they didn’t set the table for dinner. The entire room is silent save for Kodo scribbling something on a piece of paper, when you go to sit he raises a hand and you stop dead in your tracks.
“No need to sit, this will be quick.” He stands and you feel a sudden urge to stand behind Din, to put something between you and Kodo but you resist. “My fathers condition is worsening, that is the only news I have now I must be off.” He snaps and a servant helps him put on his coat as you watch in stunned silence, he shoots you one last glance before walking out the door. “That will be all.” And just like that he’s gone. When the door shuts behind him you can’t help but burst into a fit of laughter purely spurred on by your disbelief as Din walks you out of the room.
It was just that easy.
You’d spend hours stressing today and it was that kriffing easy.
You’re grinning ear to ear when you turn to Din once you’re safe and out of the dining hall.
“We never have to do that again.” Your voice and excited whisper.
“Never.” He repeats, you can practically hear his own smile.
“Can we go home now?”
“Home?” He looks behind him before wrapping an arm around your waist.
“Sorry, the cabin.”
“I still haven’t fixed the bed frame you know.” He’s still walking you in that direction as he says it so you just laugh.
“That’s okay, I don’t mind.”
“Then let’s go home.”
And that’s exactly what you do. And when he opens the door to let you in you realize with a profound sadness that this is your last night in the cabin. A place that is the closest thing you have to a home here on Naboo, besides Din. But he’s a person, not a place. This is your home. His home. You can’t help but wonder if the sorrow is getting to him too, leaving is hard, no matter how much you hate certain aspects of this planet there will always be parts that you love.
But you don’t want to be sad the night before your wedding.
So you do your best to clear your head.
“Aren’t we supposed to spend the night before our wedding apart?” You tease as you kick your shoes off, eager to just go to sleep, turns out spending all day being worried is exhausting.
“Why would I want to do that?” He’s taking his own armor off, turning to glare at you.
“I don’t know, tradition?” He helps you out of your dress and you quickly climb into bed.
“That’s not my tradition.” He lays beside you and you on the mattress, groaning as he kneels to crawl in beside you.
“Lights off?” You whisper as your fingers trace the edge of his helmet.
“On?” His voice is soft and hopeful and you smile before promptly closing your eyes, the action is swiftly followed by the sound of his airlock. He kisses each of your eyelids before your lips, pulling you into him completely.
And he loves you like it’s the last time he ever will.
He makes every time feel like the first time with how gentle he is with you, even when he’s being rough. There’s always the tiniest spark of tenderness to him.
But tonight is different.
Tonight he loves you like he’s loved you his entire life.
It isn’t another first time, this time feels like the thousandth, like he knows your own body better than you do. Like he still loves it even after all this time. His hands can’t hold enough of you, his mouth can’t savor enough of you, and his cock can’t fill enough of you. He chases more and more, wanting only to make you happy, to unravel you and wind you up just so he can do it all over again.
However you want it.
That’s what he says when you climb on top of him, sinking down on his length with a groan. So you do it exactly how you want it, which is every way. He takes whatever you give him and you give him whatever he wants. And when he gasps in your ear the single word, posed as a question, inside? You nod, pulling his face closer to kiss his cheek.
“You don’t have to ask, you can just do it.” You murmur, and he does.
A part of you knows just how reckless that is but it matters less now that you’re leaving. Any children who would be born from this union no longer have to live in fear of your current technical husband, because they won’t be anywhere near him by the time they’re born.
So you let yourself stop being afraid of that possibility.
And you let Din love you.
Today’s the day.
Your day.
It feels perfect already, the sun shines in through the small windows, you’re still tangled in each other when your eyes flutter open. Based on the way his breathing sounds you know his helmet is still off so you shut your eyes, letting your head rest on his chest as you relax against him for a few more minutes.
It’s going to be a hard habit to break after today.
Not looking.
Shit.
By the end of today you’ll have seen him. You’re meeting him at the chapel before the sunsets, and you’ll be off planet before morning. And in between that you’ll look. You’ll know every part of him.
You feel him stir, his breathing picking up just a little as he lets his hand wander up and down your spine.
“Good morning, sarad.” He murmurs, leaning down to kiss the top of your head.
“Morning.” You kiss his collar bone, squeezing whatever parts of him you can get your hands on. “What time do we have to start getting ready?”
“Lysa will help you get ready and Elaine and I will set up the church. We have to explain our circumstances to the pastor.”
“Like tell him that your bride is married?” You groan, just wanting to stay in bed with him.
“Like tell him I’m marrying some random servant girl, but more importantly tell him no one will see your face during the ceremony because of the creed.”
“Is that a real thing?” You sit up a bit, remembering to keep your eyes shut just in time.
“Not at all, but he doesn’t know that.”
You pull each other close, your movements synced as you do.
“Are you ready?” His tone is light but you know that if you said no right now he wouldn’t be bothered, he’d wait. It’s a good thing you’re more than ready.
“I have been for quite some time.”
The two of you stay like that for quite some time, for as long as you can actually, until Elaine is banging on the cabin door. When that happens you both sit up quickly, Din helps you dress and in just a few moments you’re both ready.
The next time you see him will be at your wedding.
You both stand by the door, unopened, when he takes your hand.
“I love you.” He brings your hand to his chest as he says it.
“Ni kar'tayli gar darasuum.” You do your best with the pronunciation, trying to mirror how he says it.
“I will know you forever.” He whispers out and you tilt your head to the side. “That’s what that means. It’s our version of I love you, but it means I will know you forever.”
You squeeze his hand on last time before dropping it and lifting his helmet just enough to kiss him once.
“I will. I have big plans to know you forever.” You smile at him one last time before opening the door, Elaine and Lysa waiting outside.
After Lysa walked you back to the castle things were a bit of a whirlwind.
It was a long arduous process, she insisted on making you perfect one last time. Her sentiment made your heart clench so you allowed her this, considering it a parting gift, one last day staring into the vanity.
She spends the day getting you ready in every way possible and you spend the day missing Din.
Until she gets to your hair and you finally speak up.
“Can we leave it down?” You clear your throat and turn to her as she nods.
“Of course.”
Despite how much time Lysa has spent dolling you up you’re happy to look in the mirror and see you. Clear as day. Not some unrecognizable woman being dressed to the sake of her husband, you just look like you.
When the sun is finally beginning to set outside your window she helps you into your dress.
Elaine really outdid herself.
It’s simpler than some of your other gowns but it’s exactly what you wanted. The dress isn’t wearing you, you’re wearing the dress. You’re standing in the full length mirror when Lysa produces your veil, helping you clip it into your hair so your face will be completely concealed.
“It’s time to go.” She whispers as she adjusts your dress once, smiling gently at you.
“Could I have a minute alone?” You whisper back before she nods and rushes out, shutting the door silently behind her.
You lift the veil and look around the dimly lit room for what will be the last time. Your hand subconsciously wanders up your necklace, you twist the ring hanging there between your fingers as you open the closet door, flipping on the lamp to stare at the bed you’ve made.
You sort of wish you could bring it with you. Your little blanket bed. But you know better than that. As much as you’re going to miss it, after today you’ll have a real bed. A shared bed, with your riduur.
So you say a silent goodbye to this bed. Your first shared bed. And you leave to find Lysa.
You know the plan by heart.
Lysa will walk you in. It’ll be a quick ceremony and then you will get your things from the cabin and leave.
Simple.
Easy.
The church is nestled in the woods, only a few servants ever attend but it’s a quaint little place, covered in vines as you stand outside the large wooden entryway. This is it. You will walk out of this church married to a man you actually love. Just as the sun hits the horizon you know that’s your cue to enter. You take Lysa’s arm, holding her close as she pushes the door open. You’re holding your breath as you look around the church, waiting to lay your eyes on him.
Empty.
You tense up, your grip on Lysa tightens immediately as you both step inside.
Completely barren. Not even a pastor.
“They must be running a little bit late.” You can tell by the tone of her voice that she is just as uneasy as you are right now.
Din wouldn’t be late.
Not to this.
“Let’s wait a few minutes, they’ll be here soon.” She insists before walking you into the church, you both sit in one of the pews.
You wait.
And you hold her hand and you wait.
You wait until the sun is completely set and you’re both bathed in darkness before you can’t take it anymore and you stand abruptly, pulling the veil from your hair and handing it to her.
“Go back inside, hide this, I’ll take care of this.” You walk with her back to the entryway with small frantic steps.
“Ma’am, are you sure-”
“I’ll find them.” You give her a reassuring smile, one that brings you no comfort before watching her rush back in the direction of the castle. The moment you know she’s far enough away to not hear it you finally let out the sob that’s been building in your throat. You don’t have time to break down right now though, you need to find Din.
He didn’t abandon you.
Your mind wants to go there, a part of you whispers that he’s left you all over again but you know with absolute certainty that that isn’t possible.
Something happened.
So you search.
Your heart threatens to burst from your chest as you begin your hunt.
You go to the cabin only to find it just as you left it this morning. You wade through the waters, silently letting your eyes scour the darkness before you run through the gardens. Yet you come up empty once again. Not so much as a trace of either one of them.
So you go to the only other place you can think to look.
The place you had told yourself just a few hours ago that you’d never go back to, and you return to the castle. It’s desolate when you search the halls. Not so much as a guard in the dark stone corridors. It makes your stomach twist in knots. The rooms are empty, and the lights are off.
What the hell happened?
Your lungs burn from the constant running but you can’t stop now, you won’t stop until you find him, and if you search every corner of the castle and he isn’t there then you’ll start searching the rest of the planet.
Whatever it takes.
It probably won’t come to that though, you quickly realize when you finally find a room with the door cracked and the lights on. Any sense of relief it brings you is gone in an instant though as you realize what room it is.
The dining hall.
Your feet carry you towards it before your brain can comprehend what’s happening and you slowly push the doors open, stepping inside. You have felt a range of temperatures since your arrival on Naboo but right now all you feel is a blistering cold that smothers your flesh and bones.
The table is set, and as is the case on all nights where you’re expected at dinner, Kodo sits in his usual place.
Except this isn’t a night where you’re expected.
And he isn’t the only one sat at the table.
Elaine sits on one side of him, looking like she’s about to be sick, Leo on the opposite side, downright refusing to look at you. You feel like you’re going to pass out the moment you see them and you can’t help but note the fact that Kodo’s guards aren’t here.
“Don’t you look lovely.” The nasally bellow of his voice fills the entire hall as you take a step forward. It takes all of your focus to keep yourself from trembling as you stare at him.
“Did I forget we were supposed to have dinner?” You keep your voice surprisingly steady considering the circumstances.
“You didn’t get my invitation?” His voice drips with malice as the doors behind you promptly shut, his tone is enough of an indicator that there was no invitation.
This isn’t some coincidence, you didn’t just happen to stumble upon Elaine and Leo dining with your husband, no.
It’s an ambush.
“I must have missed it.” You murmur.
“Take a seat.” He says it like it’s an offer but you know better than to refuse, not now. You sit at your usual spot, every muscle in your body is tense as you look across the table at him. “Tonight was supposed to be a celebration.” His face contorts into a sneer as he stares right back at you. “But I’m afraid our night has been ruined by some rather upsetting news.”
Maybe you should just run.
His guards aren’t here, you could probably outrun Kodo, especially with how much adrenaline is coursing through your veins right now.
Not without Din.
“Are you okay?” He doesn’t sound concerned, the question burns a hole into you, what could he possibly mean by that?
“I’m fine.” You swallow the lump in your throat, turning to look at Leo, and then Elaine, Kodo following your eyeline the entire time.
“Don’t worry, she can’t hurt you, not anymore.”
“I’m sorry?” The more confused you get the more the feeling of suffocation in your chest grows.
“Your servant, she can’t hurt you anymore, I was actually about to dismiss her right before you arrived.” Your brows furrow as you try desperately to make sense of any of this and he grins. Teeth fully on display as he smiles at you from across the table. “You don’t know?”
“I’m sorry, my prince, but I’m not sure about anything that’s happening right now.” Might as well say it, maybe it’ll get you some answers.
“No need to apologize, not after what you’ve been through.”
You know better than to ask a follow up question to that.
Something is terribly wrong and it would be best to learn as much as you can before giving away any of your own knowledge.
“Leodall told us everything.” If it’s possible for Leo to somehow look at you less, he manages to do so when Kodo says that. “You don’t have to worry about any of it now, I’m going to take care of everything.” Nothing about the faux soothing tone he takes on relaxes you, you’re getting more and more upset with each passing second.
“What did Leo tell you?” The bewilderment in your voice isn’t an act as you fight to keep your voice from cracking.
“About the Mandalorian, dear wife.”
It’s a good thing you weren’t holding a drink, if you did it would be on the floor. You don’t have anything to say, any words you might have to say die in your throat.
“We retrieved him from his quarters and he confessed to everything.” Kodo’s eyes raise briefly as he gauges your reaction.
Din confessed.
“Everything?” When you find your voice that’s the only word you can manage to produce as your stomach churns at the thought. What did they do to him to make him admit what the two of you have done?
“It’s better this way, there’s no need for a trial.” He takes a sip of whatever dark ale fills his glass. Maybe your last act of defiance should be to aim the vomit rising in your throat at him, or at the very least at Leo. “Thank the gods Leo found that book, who knows how long this would have continued if it weren’t for him.”
The Smitten Paladin.
You knew you were forgetting something.
Maybe there isn’t enough time to run but you could definitely jump across the table and strangle Leo, it probably wouldn’t even be that difficult.
Or maybe you should just beg.
Kodo is a man of ego, if you appeal to him maybe he’ll spare Din. That’s unlikely though, the best you can hope for now is a swift death for both of you. Should you just beg for that instead?
“I confessed as well, to all of it.” Elaine turns to stare at you, she looks pained and Kodo’s smile drops the moment she speaks up.
“There’s no need for that.” He hisses, his chair squeaks as he stands but she isn’t deterred.
“The Mandalorian and I both confessed to our crimes, I’m sorry.” Elaine is strong. The entire time you’ve known her that’s been the word you’d use to describe her, but right now she just looks small.
“That’s enough.” His voice rings through the hall as he snarls at her. “You’ve done enough.” But she doesn’t stop, tears form in the corners of her eyes as she reaches a hand towards you.
“Mando told them what he did.” Her words become more and more rushed as Kodo begins to walk towards where she’s seated. “We told them all of it, what he made you do, how I helped him keep you quiet, how he took advantage of you.” Her voice is strained and broken as the loud crack echoes throughout the room when Kodo’s hand comes in contact with her face.
“Not another word.” He growls, his eyes icy and cruel, his hand still raised in silent warning.
How he took advantage of you.
Oh Din.
He didn’t.
You just stare at her. The weight of the world is starting to crash down on you bit by bit as your heart begins to beat frantically.
Kodo sighs loudly before returning to his seat, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“You’ve ruined the big reveal.” He mumbles before looking back up at you. “Might as well get to your present since she’s ruined the surprise.”
This can’t get worse.
That’s what you’ve been consistently repeating to yourself as this dinner has carried on yet somehow it does.
Everything gets worse when Kodo calls out for his guards.
Six battle droids enter from the door behind Kodo, but you barely have eyes for them, you don’t have the brain capacity to notice them because you only see him right now.
Your Din.
Din who would do anything for you. With his hands cuffed in front of him, his ankles attached with a short chain. Din who is pushed to his knees, a man who should never be in such a position before anyone who isn’t you. Din who only looks at you, even now.
Din who made up a lie, to protect you one last time.
Your Din.
There isn’t a facade you can put on now, nothing can hide the anguish on your face as you stare at him, you aren’t exactly proud when it consumes you entirely.
And you vomit.
The tension in your chest finally bubbles over and you expel the contents of your stomach onto the table. Nobody moves, only you, hands gripping your chair as your chest heaves. You’re vaguely aware of Kodo standing beside you now, he’s speaking but you don’t hear a word, you only hear a ringing in your ears until you look at Din, who nods at you, just once, and everything comes back into focus.
“He can’t hurt you.” Kodo’s voice is sickly sweet in your ear as he hands you a handkerchief from the table set up, giving you a moment to wipe your mouth as you fight back the urge to be sick all over again. “His restraints are state of the art, it doesn’t matter how much of a fight he puts up, he isn’t getting out of them.”
Your brain is trying desperately to come up with some genius plan to get all of you out of this but you're coming up empty.
There is nothing.
“I’m thinking guillotine.” Kodo’s voice is a whisper now as he bends down to speak to you.
“You do public executions on Naboo?” Your voice matches his in volume, but your eyes never leave Din, he’s struggling against them, but six battle droids? It wouldn’t matter if it was six Mandalorians.
“I’m the king now, I can do whatever I want.”
“Tonight was supposed to be a celebration.”
Oh.
“Defiling the queen is considered an act of treason in my eyes, so yes, it will be a public execution for these two.” He points at Din and then Elaine and at this point you have a headache as you try desperately to make the pieces of this demented puzzle fit together. You take a shuddering deep breath.
Leo found the book.
He told Kodo.
Kodo had Din drawn and quartered. He would have been with Elaine, she was taken as well.
He told them he took advantage of you.
That he defiled you.
So you would be guiltless.
And Elaine corroborated his story.
Said she helped him.
They had saved you.
And now they’re going to pay for it.
“Why don’t we see the traitor’s face, guard?” Kodo’s voice tears you from your mental gymnastics as he snaps, pointing at Din and you can’t help it as you shoot up to be standing.
“No!” The word is punched out of your chest, all the air leaving your body with it.
“No?” Din stops struggling as everyone turns to face you now, Kodo’s question rings throughout the room as you try to come up with something, anything, to stop this.
“You wanted to surprise me? Then we should wait, we should save the reveal.” Your words are rushed, you will do anything to keep that helmet on his head right now.
“The reveal?” Kodo hisses.
“No one’s ever seen his face, we shouldn’t waste this opportunity on some random dinner.” Is this even worth it? At this point you’re probably just getting yourself killed.
Now no one speaks. You finally manage to tear your eyes from Din to turn and face Kodo.
“We should save it.” You whisper, you don’t even care if this gets you killed, you just want to keep his helmet on his head until you can figure out how to keep his head on his shoulders.
Kodo’s sneer turns into a smirk.
“What a good idea.” You let out the breath you’d been holding in. “Maybe you aren’t completely bland, wife.” He puts a hand on the small of your back and you manage to keep yourself from recoiling. “Well then, I think we’re done here.” He whistles, once, clear and sharp and a pair of guards take Elaine by the arms, dragging her away but not before you manage to shoot her one last look of gratitude for what she’s done for you.
You finally look back at Din.
Thrashing against the hold that the droids have on him until they yank him up into a standing position.
What you wouldn’t give to be able to say anything to him, even just a single word.
“You don’t have to worry about him anymore sweet wife, it’s over.”  Kodo’s words are hot and vile against your ear as he puts a hand on your shoulder, hovering over you as you watch Din being dragged out of the room.
He puts up one hell of a fight, one final reminder of just how strong your Mandalorian is, it takes all six of Kodo’s droids to keep him down.
You don’t like the sight of it.
There’s something fundamentally wrong about Din being overpowered.
You manage to swallow down the sob that threatens to rip through you as you get one final look at him as the doors slam shut, you fight the urge to recoil when Kodo leans down to plant a kiss on the top of your head.
“Your little nightmare is over.” He mumbles, his voice filled with an underlying joy.
It’s just started.

The morning after Tyler had caught them Y/n snuck out of the room first, leaving Harry with a soft kiss and blazing hot cheeks after what they’d just done.
“Where were you?” Leo’s voice suddenly caught her off guard as she gripped the coffee carafe so it didn’t fall from her already shaky hand. Shaky because she had no idea what she was going to be facing once she saw Leo. Had he heard her and Harry?
“I slept in one of the guest rooms. Didn’t want to disturb you when I went to bed because seemed like you really needed to sleep,” she half lied. She was definitely in one of the guest rooms. But she was most certainly not sleeping alone.
“I called for you and everything. Was downstairs looking for you too,” he scratched the back of his head and chuckled, “but I guess I was pretty sloshed. Barely remember much else.”
She gulped down the sand in her throat and licked her lips. So he didn’t hear them. Or if he did he couldn’t remember it.  Either way. This bought her time to get her affairs in order and figure out the best way to break to him the news.
They had been careless the night before but part of her thought that if he did hear them, that would get the ball rolling. Surely that would be one way of delivering the news to Leo. But she preferred to tell him on her own time when they were both ready, prepared. The truth was going to come out. She was in love, and playing around with his son in secret needed to come to an end as soon as possible. Because it was no longer play. They were serious about one another. It was insane but they were going to make it work. However, best after vacation, she figured.
“He didn’t overhear us.” She closed the door to the room Harry was in and stepped toward him.
He let out a breath in relief, “Thank fuck. But now what? What’s the plan for the rest of our time here? And then after?”
Y/n stood to her toes and draped her arms over his shoulder as he grabbed her by her waist, “We’ll tell him after vacation. Once we figure out a plan. I’m not going to be sleeping with him or next to him again. I do need to at least make that clear to him soon.”
“You could bring up Parker to him? Tell him you heard him talking to her.”
Grinning she nodded, “Actually, that’s a great idea. Tell him I know he’s started to get feelings for her. That can be the excuse.”
Leo did try to initiate sex, as was expected, but she’d already made up her mind that she was with Harry. She wouldn’t be sleeping with Leo again. Ever again. And Harry’s idea about using Parker as an excuse was perfect.
“What’s wrong?” Leo asked after she nudged him away from her. He’d tried hugging her and kissing her neck but she moved out of his arms and said no.
“I just…” she had to really put on her best act. Even though she didn’t care one bit about Parker she needed to state what she was about to say in such a way that it would put the kibosh on his advances again, “overheard you on the phone. With Parker. And… you’re allowed to do what you wan–“
“What? How?” He stopped in his tracks, a surprised expression, eyes wide.
“I was in the bathroom the other morning and you were on the balcony and I heard everything you said clearly because the window was open.”
Leo let his eyes wander to the edge of the bedroom in thought as he began to nod.
“And anyway… you can sleep with whom you want. We agreed to that but, Leo,” she paused until he finally looked back at her, “it sounds like… I don’t know… kind of like it’s more than just sex with her. And if that’s true then that crosses a boundary I’m not comfortable with.”
Leo was quiet for a bit as he paced back and forth. Y/n could see he was figuring out how to respond. He finally stopped and turned to look at her, “What exactly did you hear?”
She sighed for dramatic effect, “That you missed her, called her honey, said something about how many more days it would be, and that you wished it was her that was here with you.”
Blinking his eyes and looking down at his feet he nodded to himself, “Wow. I…” he looked back at his wife and ran a hand through his hair, “Y/n I’m sorry you heard that. It wasn’t… I don’t know what to say. Maybe we can talk about this when we get back home,” he took her hands in his, “Let’s not let this ruin our vacation. Okay?”
It was a sweet gesture, she felt. He wasn’t normally so gentle about things and she could tell he felt bad. Perhaps this could work in her favor. In their favor.
It was also the perfect excuse to not sleep in bed with him. She moved her clothes to the guest bedroom and Leo didn’t question it once.
And Harry was relieved his dad hadn’t overheard them. Having a little more time to figure out everything would be ideal for them both. He was set to graduate at the end of Fall that year, which meant he’d have his degree and he could get a good job. He imagined both he and Y/n renting a small apartment, whatever they could afford because he was sure his dad would cut him off once he did find out the truth.
Everyone, including Tyler, noticed the sudden change in Leo. He withdrew slightly but was polite and kind. Y/n felt a little guilty about it but it was better than Leo knowing about her and Harry and trying to finish off the vacation with that hanging over them.
But both Y/n and Harry couldn’t have been happier deep down. They maintained a healthy distance from one another during the day or anytime Leo was around. Which turned out to be a bit harder than they realized. Because once they’d both admitted their feelings they just wanted to indulge in the newness. It didn’t stop the lingering glances or quick whispers with promises, a cheeky hidden pinch, or hot stolen kisses.
And once the lights were off and everyone was in their rooms, Harry would join Y/n in her room, or she in his with the door closed and locked.
Keeping quiet was no fun but being able to imbibe in one another every night and every morning before they parted was worth covered mouths and muted moans.
Harry woke up feeling warm with Y/n’s back against his chest. She was sighing and slowly fidgeting under the sheets as she was just beginning to rouse from her own slumber.
He grinned to himself as he inhaled her scent and brought a hand up over her bare arm, “Morning.”
Her eyes were still closed when she heard his raspy tired voice in her ear, “Morning.”
Waking up early was not something either of them enjoyed, but it had been worth it to savor one another before the day began. Before anyone else woke up.
Harry’s warm hand traveled down her hip and over her thigh with purpose as she felt his mouth sponge wet kisses on her neck. Reaching behind her to pull his arm to her front she brought his hand up to her bare breasts.
They didn’t even need to say a word to know what would come next. Y/n reached down to lazily rub her clit when she felt Harry’s cock digging into her bum.
She barely even needed to touch herself to get worked up. Harry’s lips on her neck and his hand manipulating and pinching her nipples were quite enough.
Angling her hips and pressing herself back onto Harry he felt her wetness and groaned softly as he lifted her thigh and placed his cock to her wet hole, pushing through the tight muscle as he continued kissing the sensitive skin on her neck.
Stunted thrusts into her pussy were met with her own hips pushing herself down over him. Harry began to whine at the way his tip was being fucked and how tight she felt on him. It was hard to get in long deep strokes in that position but for Harry, it was sending him over the edge too fast, “Gonna come… fuck!” He spoke his words in a frantic whisper.
Y/n’s mouth dropped open when she felt him suddenly throbbing and pumping into her as he stilled his hips and tightened his grip on her thigh. He gasped and pasted his lips over her neck to keep himself quiet as he came inside of her embarrassingly fast.
When he lifted his face from her neck he groaned, “Sorry, Y/n. I didn’t mean to come so fast. Felt so good…”
Grinning she turned her head and moved herself so she was on her back and Harry was next to her, “It’s okay. You’ve been so good.” She spread her legs as a hint for him to finish her off.
Harry breathed out a shallow laugh as he watched her lift her hips and lick her lips, “I try to be good for you. I can still make you come,” he grabbed her thigh, positioning himself in between her legs, pushing them apart to watch his orgasm slowly drip out of her pussy. Pressing his fingers into the warm come he pressed it back into her, watching the filthy act as his fingers disappeared into her.
She moaned as he began to curl his fingers and stroke her insides slowly. He looked from her eyes to where he was fingering her, his digits coated in her arousal and his creamy come. A bit of sperm dripped down her ass he plunged his fingers in and pulled out.
“Fuck, baby. You like fucking your come back into me with your fingers?” She whispered her words.
“It’s so pretty,” he moaned his words and then lowered his face to suck on her clit and lick over her in wide, flat strokes with his hot tongue.
The moment his head was in between her thighs she pushed her hand into his hair and gripped a hold tight, “Good boy… right there. Don’t let your come go to waste, baby.”
She loved watching him eat her out. But he was good at it too, now that he’d learned exactly what she liked the most, “Yes… Lick it like that. Uughh… fuck…” She didn’t dare throw her head back like her body wanted. Instead, she kept her eyes locked on Harry’s lewd act. His mouth sucking and licking her (and consequently himself) up, his fingers pumping into her.
Harry pressed his shoulders into the back of her thighs and began digging in as deep and hard as he could like she liked. Her soft pants and gasps in the room, and the slick, sticky sound of her pussy being eaten were surely quiet enough for the early morning stillness of the house.
And when she came she covered her mouth and squeezed her eyes closed, dropping her head back into the pillow against her will. She had wanted to keep her eyes on her pretty boy but he had her coming so hard her body shook and the will to keep her eyes open wasn’t strong enough to overcome her body’s natural inclination.
Harry softly licked over her as he watched her heave and tremble under him. He loved gently tonguing at her clit until she pushed him away when she couldn’t handle it anymore.
She softly giggled and bucked her hips up, sliding away from his mouth with droopy lids and a lopsided smile as Harry sat up, “How was it?”
Rolling her eyes she pulled him over her body to glue their mouths together as an answer. It was good. It was always good. She and Harry had an intrinsic connection. Something that couldn’t be forced or imagined. It was real and natural. This was her lover, her man, her soulmate.
Ending their vacation in Greece was bittersweet. Of course, it was time to get back to reality.
“I’m gonna be sad when I can’t have you in my bed every night,” Harry spoke as he sat on her bed next to the suitcase she was stuffing with her clothes. They had another hour before the driver was to pick them up and bring them to the airport for their long day of travel back to California.
“I know, baby. Me too. I think Leo isn’t going to question me being gone more often, though. Knowing what I know about how he feels about Parker. So I was thinking maybe every couple of days I could go to your dorm? Stay with you?”
That would have to do. Until they could figure out how to tell Leo.
“And how long do we do that until we finally tell him?” Harry watched her put her shoes into a shoe bag before placing it on top of the pile of clothes.
“I don’t know. Maybe Tuesday night I can come over and you and I can really discuss our plan. With you graduating soon, that might be something to factor in, you know?”
He nodded, “Yeah. We could rent an apartment together. I’ll get a job.”
“And me too. I’m gonna start looking for work,” she looked at the young man and stopped what she was doing, placing herself in between his legs and sticking her fingers into his curls, “This won’t be easy but it’s gonna be worth it. I love you.”
Harry tilted his head back and closed his eyes to bask in the feel of her fingers on his scalp. He smiled and hummed before opening his eyes to look back at her, “I know it’ll be worth it. I love you too.”

PJO characters realizing they have a crush
Leo Valdez:
-This man falls fast and hard… -You smile at him? Head over heels.
- God forbid you compliment him, because he’ll work 10 times harder to try and impress you.
-He’s hard at work in bunker 9, finding himself drifting off in thought. Mostly of you. Alright, almost all about you.
-Your laugh… Your smile… How you scold him for working too hard…
-He goes bright red covering his face, Oh he was down bad…
Frank Zhang:
-He’s so shy about it… He really doesn’t know what to do…
-He recognizes right away that he’s more protective over you…
-He may know about it sooner than the others, but it takes him a while to come to terms with his feelings.
-He’s getting frustrated that he can’t transform like he wants… He has to be able to protect his friends, to protect you…
-But you’re constantly on his mind and that makes it hard to focus…
-He sighs heavily as he comes to the realization he’s going to have to confess to you sooner than later.
Percy Jackson:
-This man doesn’t understand at all.
-You’re a good friend! Of course he’d want to protect you!
-He’s a flirt and doesn’t even realize just how many demi-gods have eyes for him.
-He cares deeply for you and only during a time of peril does he realize just how much he cares for you…  He couldn’t imagine a life without you…
-He falls hard after he realizes. Honestly, you were concerned he didn’t like you anymore as he didn’t seem to flirt as much as he used too…
-He’s just too embarrassed now that he knows he really does like you…
Annabeth Chase:
-She knows right away. She’s the first to realize her feelings for you.
- Does it make it any easier? Of course not! She wants everything to go perfectly!
-What if you didn’t like her back? What if you didn’t want to be friends anymore?
-She struggles with her own doubts, but the doubt of you not liking her back? That scares her.
-She decides to sit down and work on a plan. It was something she was good at and something she could focus on…
-She’s blushing the entire time as she writes down at least ten different ways to ask you out. Yet none of them seem to be good enough…
-She’s going to be at it for a while.
Hazel  Levesque:
-The two of you were just enjoying a nice picnic when her mind started to wander.
-This felt like a date… Her cheeks would go bright pink. Was this a date!?
-She was a blushing mess the rest of the trip and only sighs in relief once she’s back to her room.
-She slides down the door covering her face, feeling just how hot her face was.
- Was that a date? Did you like her? Did she like you!?
- She’d be up all night debating these questions.
Jason Grace:
-Honestly so clueless it’s painful.
-He’d think you guys are just great friends and buddies! No matter how much you flirt with him.
-Kiss on the cheek? Just some friendly affection! Clinging to him and hiding into his chest while he flies? Well you must be scared of heights! He felt bad for that one though.
-He wouldn’t realize it until you stand him still and confess to him.
-He’d take a few seconds to process it, he has a lot on his mind after all but he can’t help the smile and blush that crosses his cheeks as he thinks back and realizes all the flirting. -He’s so embarrassed he didn’t realize sooner, but thankfully you find it cute.
Piper Mclean:
- You’re both on the Argo ll watching the clouds go by. Just enjoying a peaceful moment.
-She glances over at you and sees your calm expression soaking it in. But she feels her cheeks heat up.
-??? Why was she blushing!? She quickly excuses herself and rushes off to her room, quickly closing the door.
-Her heart was pounding, cheeks were heating up… She takes a look in the mirror to make sure.
-Oh no… She really was falling for you.
-She sighs heavily and plops down into her bed thinking about all the moments you shared together… Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to fall for you…

part nine: the plan, the failed plan and the distractionsㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ   ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ   ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ  ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ   previous. next. masterlist
  xxi. the plan
you supposed it was some sort of karma for your and jungkook’s poor judgement to be put in this position. the two of you confirmed over text that there was a long overdue talk needed between you guys, but it’d been over a week now. every time it seemed like there would be a spare moment, something would always find its way between the two of you.
one random thursday afternoon, you ran into jungkook coming back from the riding trails with leo. you thought this was your chance, until namjoon came trailing behind them. then, at the saloon the next night, jungkook was whisked away by a last minute shift coverage at work. it was growing frustrating, trying to identify an opening in both of your schedules.
“who are you texting? you look troubled,” asked yoongi, trying to look at your phone from over your shoulder.
you instantly put your phone down on the table. “stop being nosy.”
“if it’s jungkook, just say so, so we can all stop stressing about you,” namjoon interjected from across you.
it was now nearing the end of july, which meant the midsummer fair was around the corner. the last of preparations weren’t difficult, but you figured namjoon could need the help. everyone else seemed to be working or, in jungkook’s case, preparing for the show jumping competition at the fair. it was apparent that he was rusty and was training last-minute. meanwhile, you and yoongi were recruited to help namjoon with miscellaneous tasks.
“yeah, he hasn’t had time because he’s been hanging out with you,” yoongi said, as he wrapped some ribbon around a prize basket.
you ignored yoongi, too focused on your current text conversation with jungkook. he and namjoon exchanged looks, then sighed in unison. you raised an eyebrow at the two of them.
“so, you guys are going to the fair together, right?”
taken aback, you replied, “what do you know about that?”
this was the first time it came up and was definitely not something talked about between you and jungkook, especially with the latter’s insistence that you were simply just friends. now, of course, the situation was vastly different. there was no way to shake off the kiss you shared a week ago - though neither of you acknowledged it over text and only implied it was to be talked about in person.
“enough to know that you should just ask him. it’s so obvious that something is going on between the two of you and,” namjoon paused, “you guys took an awfully long time to smoke outside last week at the saloon.”
at this, your face turned cherry red and you threw a roll of tape in namjoon’s direction.
meanwhile, yoongi was chuckling under his breath, as he let out a low whistle when namjoon just barely dodged your attack. “look, y/n, we’re your friends. we’re also jungkook’s friends. if there’s anyone who can help, it’s us.”
this would have been another excellent example of why you needed some female friends. it was difficult to take namjoon and yoongi seriously, looking like they were capable of doing nothing but cause trouble with their matching vexatious smiles. you rolled your eyes, realizing you had no choice.
“fine. fine! i have feelings for jungkook, are you happy?” you admitted through gritted teeth.
even though confiding in these two idiots was the last thing you wanted to do, that was actually the first time you were able to admit it aloud. up until now, you’d endured teasing from some of your friends, who were insistent on your behalf. you mostly just kept your mouth shut, since you’d been toying with the idea in your head without confirmation. after several missteps and mixed signals, you were finally letting yourself speak the truth.
yoongi’s expression remained unfazed. “okay, that was obvious.”
“hey! that took a lot out of me to confess,” you shot back.
little did you know, jungkook was going through the exact same thing as you. unfortunately, it was one of the busiest times of the year. he was the reigning show jumping champion and paid his entrance fees for the competition months in advance, so there was no way he couldn’t show up. it just so happened that life kept getting in the way, but he was trying.
“he got sad when i told him that you’ll be helping me today, since he’s busy with work,” namjoon remarked, giving you a pointed look.
even with the boys rooting for you and on your side, life still proved to be a major obstacle itself. it was growing almost comical, the way the next few days would pan out. like in the months, every time it seemed as though you and jungkook got close to confronting your feelings, something always got in the way.
when the next day rolled around, you thought today would be the day. as jungkook dropped off jiwon at the farmhouse, he promised that the two of you would talk when he came back later that day for her. it was no problem - except for the heavy feeling in your stomach that you carried for the entire day.
“what’s wrong?” jiwon asked, tilting her head slightly at you.
there was a certain determination when it came to being the best babysitter in the world and most of it had to do with impressing jungkook. you loved jiwon and you wanted to show him that you were good with her. you decided that there was nothing kids loved more than sweets, which is how you and jiwon were stationed in your kitchen making homemade ice cream.
to your left, she wore one of your aprons and it came down to her knees. jiwon stood on a step stool, as she helped you whisk ingredients together and you didn’t notice that you’d been frowning at your phone for the last few minutes. you were reviewing your emails related to the farm, as business was picking up the more established you were.
you smiled, shaking your head at her. “nothing, sweetie. just work.”
at that moment, you heard the front door open. you knew it was jungkook, since it was coming up on the end of the day and he never knocked. he announced his presence, voice echoing throughout the big house.
“hey, it’s me,” he called and you could catch a glimpse of him from where you stood.
jungkook approached closer, hands in the pockets of his jeans. you could tell he just finished riding from his helmet hair, flattening out his jet black locks and he still somehow made it look good. he raised his eyebrows at the sight of your kitchen, where various bowls were sprawled out alongside bags of sugar and fresh milk in jugs.
“we’re making ice cream!” exclaimed jiwon, grinning from ear to ear.
“oh, yeah? nice,” he nodded and glanced at you, impressed.
you said, “we’re just about done. jiwon, why don’t you pop the bag into the freezer? it’ll be ready for tomorrow.”
she nodded with enthusiasm, following your exact instructions. it was a pleasure watching over her - despite her antics at the beach, you saw that she was genuinely a good kid.
“you did such a good job with her,” you whispered to jungkook, as the two of you watched jiwon clean up without being asked. “so polite, so bubbly.”
“i know,” jungkook answered, a proud smile stretching across his lips.
this was the most that you and jungkook had been able to talk in person since the kiss. it was hard to ignore the beating of your heart when you stood next to him, as it only consumed you the longer he was there. his eyes flickered back to you and a meaningful gaze was exchanged.
  then, your phone rang.
you furrowed your eyebrows, wondering who could be calling you so late into the afternoon. when you took a look, you saw that it was a vendor from the other part of the country. you sighed, biting your lip.
jungkook noticed. “you have to take that, don’t you?” he sounded disappointed, but he didn’t let it show.
“i do, i’m sorry,” you responded, walking over to where your phone was on the counter.
he waved you off. “don’t be sorry. is it going to take a while?”
“yeah. . .” nothing was for sure, but the business calls you took ranged anywhere from five minutes to an hour and you didn’t want to keep jungkook waiting for you.
you picked up the call, but your focus went elsewhere when you felt a hand at the small of your back. jungkook had taken several steps towards you, chest to your shoulder. your chest buzzed with electricity and you looked up at him through your eyelashes, as the words the person on the other end went in one ear and out the other.
“i’ll see you later,” he whispered into your ear and something about his tone left goosebumps on your arm. it was an immediate flashback to the kiss you shared the week before, where his whispered dare pushed you beyond your limits.
jungkook knew it, too, judging by the satisfied smirk on his lips. the two of you stared at each other momentarily, just standing in each other’s presence and relishing the spark. you cleared your throat, snapping out of the daze when the person on the phone asked you a question.
he then took a step back, as you mouthed the words “i hate you” to him. jungkook chuckled and walked over to where jiwon was, innocently collecting her belongings from the living room. the last thing he mouthed back was “book club.” despite the bad timing of the call, you couldn’t help but smile at him.
  xxii. the failed plan
it was no longer funny. there was nothing to laugh at when it came to your luck this week - though, you caught taehyung and seokjin were secretly fist bumping at being relieved of book club and you had to have a small giggle at that. thankfully, it was just a malfunction of the fire alarm and there was no real danger at the saloon. the only danger was you, about to burst at any second for another stolen opportunity to be alone with jungkook.
like the two of you agreed, book club was intended to be d-day. it was somehow the only block in your schedules where you could be together, since work and training with leo came before and after. it was supposed to be a quick sneak away from the main group during the session, in order for the two of you to have a talk.
you were the last to arrive at the saloon where the meeting was taking place, twenty minutes into the season.
“you’re late,” yoongi scolded, but your eyes were trained on jungkook, who broke out in a wide smile the instant you walked in.
at the same instant, a painful blare attacked your ears. you brought your hands up to shield them from the sharp ache, as the boys and the other patrons got to their feet. confused, you looked around.
  “FIRE!”
the establishment was small and it didn’t take long for everyone to scramble out into the street. hoping to not get trampled, you tried taking your time, but there were too many people at once.
“jesus, are you just going to stand there?” a voice asked and you felt an arm snake around your back, supporting you from teetering over amidst the sudden movements of others around you.
it was jungkook, who rolled his eyes at you and gave you a gentle push forward, encouraging you to move. you followed his lead, as his arm moved from your back to reaching for your free hand. he grabbed it, clasping his grip to keep you steady and he successfully led you out of the building.
you said, “i was trying not to fall.” you were nearly hugging jungkook’s arm, clutching onto it with your whole body like your life depended on it. it wasn’t that serious of a situation, of course, but this was an excuse to hang onto his muscular body.
“yeah, whatever, you would’ve gotten your face stepped on without me,” jungkook quipped, opening the door for you without letting go of your hand.
the two of you found your friends at the back of the crowd, walking over. you realized that you were still holding hands with jungkook and upon reaching the boys, snatched your hand back fast. your hands went cold when you did and you didn’t like it, but it was hard to ignore the way your cheeks went hot when the two of you walked over, holding hands.
if anyone noticed it, it was hoseok, who sounded too happy for someone who just had their fire alarms set off. “there you guys are,” he sang, clapping his hands together and looking between you two.
“uh, why aren’t you worried right now?” you pushed the feeling of jungkook’s hand in yours away, furrowing your eyebrows at hoseok.
he responded, “huh? oh, there’s not actually a fire. the alarms malfunctioned.”
even though he wasn’t the owner or even an employee, you could make out namjoon talking to his dad a few feet away, likely explaining the situation. somehow, it looked like jungkook got roped into that conversation, now also nodding and speaking to mayor kim alongside namjoon. you sighed. there went your chance.
you walked over to where taehyung and seokjin were. “what a waste,” you grumbled under your breath.
“oh, you sound like yoongi. he was also looking forward to book club, too!” seokjin commented.
on the other hand, taehyung took note of your expression and laughed. “yeah, y/n, you seem real disappointed about book club,” he glanced over at jungkook as he spoke and you could tell he knew why you actually came.
“i don’t think the next meeting is until after the fair, what a shame. . .” seokjin mused, tapping a finger on his chin.
“right, the fair,” you said, kicking a pebble. it was difficult to think about the midsummer festival coming up, with all that was on your plate.
without everything on your mind, you should have been looking forward to the fair. it used to be your favourite part of the summer when you were younger and it was always your and jungkook’s place. you wanted to experience the same freeing bliss you associated with the fair and the summer season, nostalgic for simpler times. instead, it was lost in the shuffle with the farm, jungkook and life in general.
“are you going to ask jungkook?” taehyung’s question was sudden and it made your eyes widen.
  “uh, well - “
taehyung smirked. “jungkook’s been telling me since you got here that he wanted to take you, if you didn’t know.”
reflecting on the events of the past two months or so, it was something you definitely did not know. then again, between all the mix-ups and unclear communication, you didn’t know anything until the kiss with jungkook.
“say, taehyung,” you began, pondering deeply. “did jungkook ever say anything else about me?”
“just that he thinks he’s in love with you, nothing much.” it was seokjin who interjected, smacking his forehead. “he says you’re his first love and that he thinks it’s fate that you came back to the valley - i was going to ask you what even happened between the two of you for a falling out to have occurred.”
  your jaw dropped. “what?”
  “nothing.”
“no, i heard what you said!” you argued, in disbelief that seokjin just said that aloud.
he replied, “then, why are you asking?”
because you were shocked. love was a strong word and it stuck to you like invisible tape. this was your childhood best friend you were talking about and although the kiss you shared was otherworldly, you stood frozen when you contemplated the idea of being in love with him. however, the taste wasn’t foreign in your mouth. you thought about how much you cared for each other, how in sync your energies and personalities were, how you could never get rid of the butterflies in your stomach whenever you saw him.
taehyung groaned and shook his head at seokjin, who held his hands up in defense. “i mean, well, yeah. jungkook may have said something like that.”
“wait, what?” you then turned to taehyung.
“that’s really all he’s ever said about you. talks my ear off about you,” he slowly spoke, looking over your shoulder as if jungkook were to pop in at any second and deck him for exposing their conversations.
you were stumped. “that’s really all he’s said about me?” you narrowed your eyes, thinking of the time jungkook suggested that you ask out taehyung. “so, he never mentioned taking me to the fair as your date?”
taehyung’s eyes widened. “me? no, he’s never said such a thing!”
“that little shit,” you spat, squeezing your eyes shut. “he told me to ask you out! it bothered me for so long, i thought he didn’t like me!”
“what?” he asked, fighting back a laugh. “are you serious? no way, he definitely panicked.”
  “yes.”
then, both seokjin and taehyung fell victim to a fit of laughter. there were still others outside of the saloon, gathered and talking about the situation. they looked at you three strangely, including jungkook who gave you a questioning look from afar. you could only glare at him and he cut back to his conversation, as if he knew he was caught. meanwhile, the other two men were still doubled over, clutching their ribs, and you could only swallow your frustrations.
  xxiii. the distractions
at first, you thought it was only coincidence after coincidence that kept you and jungkook apart. by the next week, you were certain there was a greater plot against you that prevented your schedules from lining up. you also had a hunch that your friends were in on this plot.
the midsummer festival was now days away and you were growing anxious that you wouldn’t be able to catch jungkook before. you were really, really hoping that you and him could talk things out and have the day to yourselves. unfortunately, it looked as though you were going to run out of time.
it was getting to the peak of the season that required you to be working longer hours and you rarely had a free moment to yourself. on your first day off in a while, you were determined to finally track down jungkook. except, your friends had other plans.
“oh, good morning guys. what brings you here?”
you realized that you had yet to invite any of your friends over to the farmhouse. they preferred to gather at a community space like the saloon and rarely to anyone’s own house - mostly because none of the boys wanted to partake in the cleaning that inevitably came with hosting people. you had yet to visit any of the boys’ houses, apart from jungkook and taehyung. that’s why you were taken aback to find jimin and hoseok at your front door step.
“hey!” hoseok greeted and you immediately grew suspicious at his high-pitched tone. “are you busy right now?”
you’d just texted jungkook if he had any free time today and he had yet to reply, so you figured that you had time to kill. you noticed that they were both holding. . .paddleboards? you stared at them blankly, but shook your head.
jimin cleared his throat. “we should go to the beach.”
“the beach?” you asked, looking up at the grey skyline. it was definitely going to rain and you’d been prepared for this rainy day all week, adjusting your tasks around the farm for the weather, so you were sure it was not going to be good weather.
hoseok and jimin exchanged looks, before the former spoke again. “yeah! paddleboarding!” hoseok exclaimed, holding up a bright red paddleboard.
“guys, it’s going to rai - “ you started. after feeding the livestock, you were looking forward to spending the day indoors with a book.
“ - great, we’ll meet you in the car!”
and before you could say another word, the two dashed off to where jimin’s mustang was parked in your driveway. thinking back to seokjin’s surprise party, you knew something was up. but, you decided to humour them - a mistake you would pay for the next few hours. regeardless, you had the day off and paddleboarding did seem fun. you sighed and retreated back into your house to change into more appropriate attire before meeting them outside, wondering what they were up to.
to no surprise, the chaos didn’t stop there. for one, today was the day you realized you were horrible at paddleboarding. you spent the majority of the time flailing around. second, it started raining, as you predicted.
“run!” screamed jimin, once it started pouring.
huffing and puffing, you used hoseok’s stupid paddleboard as a shield from the rain, as the three of you ran from the water and back to the car. you opened the door to the passenger seat, thinking you were safe. your heart nearly leaped out of your throat when you glanced at the rearview mirror and found seokjin politely sitting in the backseat.
“jesus fuck!” you yelped, jumping out of your seat. “where did you come from?!”
suspiciously enough, neither hoseok or jimin were shocked to find seokjin randomly sitting in the car.
“hey guys! wanna get lunch?” seokjin was too happy-go-lucky for you to dismiss - or maybe it was the fact that he just gave you a real-life jumpscare.
“jin hyung, buddy! nice to see you!” jimin waved happily, as if seokjin didn’t just break into his car. “what a nice surprise. i’m down for lunch, what about you guys?”
you blurted out, “what’s going on here?” you looked at the three of them.
“how’s pizza?” hoseok ignored you, also smiling too wide for comfort.
you were suddenly too distracted to answer, as you patted down your tote bag for your phone. wide-eyed, you began checking your seat and below your feet for any sign of it. while this was happening, the boys seemed to be in agreement without you and as you were looking, jimin already backed out of the parking space.
without your phone, you couldn’t see if jungkook replied to you. did you even bring it with you in the first place? jimin noticed your panicked expression and asked what was wrong.
“my phone. . .” you mumbled, but figured you would be able to grab it after lunch.
you didn’t have time to question seokjin’s sudden appearance because you were worrying about your phone the entire time you and your friends gathered for pizza. however, it was clear that they were trying to distract you the entire time, seemingly throwing more suggestions left and right for what other activities you could partake in during the day. some of them proved too nonsensical to even consider.
deep in thought, the four of you sat by the window of the local pizza place in the valley, while the others talked away.
“hey, why don’t we go for a hike?” suggested seokjin, despite the fact that it was still pouring outside.
jimin then piped in. “or, we could go see a movie!”
“there’s no movie theatre in town, where did you even get that idea?” you responded to jimin, blinking slowly.
then, a buzzing noise interrupted the conversation. it was hoseok’s and he glanced at the screen, eyebrows raised.
“oh! looks like the theatre is closed - y/n, why don’t we take you home?”
and then, as quick as you were pushed out the door, the boys pushed you back out into jimin’s car. you weren’t sure where the need to rush suddenly came from, considering it was obvious that the boys were trying to keep you in one place for whatever reason.
everytime you tried to speak up with a question about their behaviour, someone shot you down by changing the topic entirely. the group had already talked about aliens, princess diana, baseball, and the mandela effect - this was all just during the short car ride home, nontheless. the amount of other random conversation changers throughout the day was endless. you lost count of the amount of conversation topics that were brought up in order to distract you.
“are you reading off a list?” you questioned hoseok, who seemed to be sneaking a look at his phone every time he wanted to interrupt you. you thought you saw the words ‘list of conversation starters’ at the link of the website.
the car came to an abrupt stop, giving hoseok an opportunity to dodge you once again.
jimin jumped in before hoseok could reply. “look! we’re here! have a nice day, y/n,” he said, rushed in all one breath. you sighed aloud, seeing it as a lost cause.
as the car came to a stop in front of the farmhouse, you unbuckled your seatbelt and promptly whipped around from the passenger seat to face the boys. they all jumped at once at your sudden movement. you narrowed your eyes.
“i don’t know what you guys are up to, but i don’t like it,” were the final words you said, as they all pretended to not hear you and waved you goodbye with smiles plastered on their faces.
you grumbled some profanity under your breath when you exited the vehicle and to your luck, the rain mostly stopped. it was now mid-afternoon now and most of your day was gone. the first thing you did was make a beeline indoors, to the living room, where you remembered leaving your phone.
when you arrived indoors, as if on cue, your phone began ringing. at this point, you were well prepared to tell off either namjoon, yoongi or taehyung. stalking over, you were pleasantly surprised to see jungkook’s name flash on the screen. in fact, you were so taken aback that you froze, forgetting where you were and what was happening for a second.
shoulders tensed, you snapped out of it and slowly picked up your phone. pressing the ‘accept’ button felt as if you were setting off an explosive.
“hello. .?” you said, wincing when your voice cracked ever so slightly.
a soft chuckle on the other end made you bite your lip. “hey, bunny,” jungkook’s voice filled your ears.
“hi. what’s up?” you asked, praying to the heavens above that he was calling you because he wanted to see you. you would have done a full sprint to his house at this point, if he confirmed your suspcions.
  he said, “you’re home now?”
you played with a random lock of hair, having now sat yourself on the counter and swinging your legs like a school girl. “i am,” you tried keeping your voice steady.
  “come out to the back.”
it took everything in you to not scream. he didn’t say more, only hung up the phone after his request. that’s when the panic settled into your stomach.
in a hurry, you speed walked to the bathroom, where you took a full-body scan of yourself. your hair had dried funny after going paddleboarding, salt clumping the strands together. the outfit you wore was a ratty old t-shirt and there was no time for you to run upstairs and change without it being obvious you were changing clothes just to come see jungkook. rapidly, you threw your hair up into a bun and splashed water on your face to snap you out of your anxiety.
then, like nothing, you sauntered casually out the back door. from a distance, you could hear your name being called.
you followed the voice, realizing it was leading to the old tractor garage. confused, you approached closer and were surprised to hear the sound of whirling. as soon as you stood in front of it, you saw that the door was no longer stuck halfway and it slowly raised up, revealing jungkook on the inside.
“surprise,” he smiled, though you could tell he was nervous by the way his hands were shoved into his pockets and he rocked back and forth on his heels.
your jaw dropped. “you fixed it. you fixed the door.”
the tractor garage had been the bane of your existence since moving into the farmhouse, with all the other minor repairs being covered by the man in front of you. you’d attempted to examine it multiple times and figured you didn’t have time for the next little while, despite knowing that you could use the money from selling off the tractor.
like a guardian angel, jungkook stood in front of you, saving you one way or another. this was the first time in over a week that you were able to get a good look at him. he took off his stetson hat once you came closer, revealing his bashful face. dressed in jeans and a flannel rolled up to reveal his tattoos, this was the first time you could admit that he was the source of your racing heart.
“i thought it would make up for all the bullsht i’ve put you through these past two months,” he said, looking down at his feet.
you ignored jungkook and instead, walked right up to him to pull him into a hug. you weren’t sure what overtook you to do such a thing, but he immediately wrapped his arms around you and you melted right into him. jungkook’s addictive scent of sage and leather was unmistakable and you could have indulged in it for forever.
although it was nice to have the garage fixed and have its annoyance wiped off of your to-do list, you were more so touched by jungkook’s gesture to surprise you. like he always did, even when you were kids, he always made it a point to make you smile.
in a low whisper, you said, “you sent those idiots to drive me around town, didn’t you?”
“did they really come up with paddleboarding? i told them to distract you, i didn’t think they would come up with such crazy ideas,” he chuckled into your hair.
it was difficult to pull away, but it was made easier when jungkook grabbed your hand when he did so. locking his fingers around yours, you thought time stopped for a moment.
“i’m sorry about everything,” you said, brushing a loose strand of hair away from his face with your free hand.
his cheeks tinted pink ever so slightly. “it’s been hard to find time to talk - but, would it be too much to ask if you could wait just a little bit longer?”
“sorry?” you responded, confused. the two of you had been going back and forth for nearly two weeks, trying to make time to sit down in-person with one another and he still wanted to delay it? even though you were standing right in front of him, on your day off?
“come to the fair with me. as my date.”
when you were a kid, amber valley meant a lot of things to you. of course, you loved your grandpa more than anything in the world. retreating to the sleepy town away from the city lights also meant two constants: your best friend and the wonders of a festival that celebrated your favourite season. you thought you would never see it again through the years. today, jungkook gifted you both these things once more.

"Billy?" You think as you walk down the aisle of the grocery store towards the tall man in a dark suit, his hair almost the same as his had been the last time you saw him, "can't be him." You try to reason, he's probably still overseas and you haven't seen him, since… well, since he walked away from you all those years ago. You're just about to turn, having talked yourself out of it when the man turns and sees you.
"Hi,” he rakes his hand through his hair, “is that really you?" he squints, his head tilting to the side in curiosity.
"Billy," you smile, trying not to melt at how happy he seems to see you, “Hi.” you give him a small wave.
"How've you been?" He asks, stepping towards you, "I didn't know you lived in this neighbourhood." Billy lies. He knows you and your little boyfriend just moved into the apartment building next to his.
He wasn’t surprised that it only took a week to memorise your new routine. You always moved like clockwork, just like you did when he knew you all those years ago. It was only when he spotted you last night staring out into the city lights that he decided that it needed to be today. You have been living on takeout for a week and you always did hate that. You’ll need a home cooked meal after a week of moving and unpacking. It's perfect. A perfect place for a chance meeting of old flames.
"I've been okay," your eyes glance over him. He looks good, better than good. His suit is so perfectly tailored and shit, is that armani? Billy's shiny dark hair is combed back in a way that looks effortless but you know he would have taken years to perfect. You’re so focused on ogling him that you forget to say anything for a second, "We just moved here."
"Good choice,” he says, like he isn’t just itching to reach out and touch you, “it's a nice neighbourhood." He pauses, taking a step toward you, "we?" He asks, trying to feign ignorance like he hasn't kept tabs on you since he got back. Like he doesn’t know about Ash the guitarist or Leo the bar owner or Bobbie the artist. All of them, useless, appalling mimics, comparisons, terrible shadows of Billy and none of them as useless as James the entrepreneur who always claimed he was one shot from making it big.
"Yeah, Jim said there’s opportunity in the city. So we decided it would be easier to move," you shift, why is he looking at you like that? “Be where the action is and all that.”
"Jim, huh. Sounds nice." He takes a step back, hoping that you're going to follow his movement like you always used to. You’re looking at him almost like you used to, except now your eyes are darting to the left, seeing if anyone sees you, if you can run maybe?
"He is." You step forward, "he's a really good guy." He is, he’s nice, reliable, he loves you and he isn’t going to fuck off to a war the moment things start to get real.
"I'm happy for you." His hand reaches out wanting so badly to touch you after so long. But instead of holding your cheek like he wants to, it lands on your shoulder. Billy smiles so sincerely at you, and says the one thing he’s always known to be true, "all I ever wanted was for you to be happy."
"Hmm. Yeah " you step back from his hand, his intense gaze getting a little too much for you. Your stomach and heart swirling from the way those pretty brown eyes stare into your soul, "well it was nice seeing you. I better run."
"Wait," he calls as you turn to leave, catching your wrist in his hand, “before you go. I'd really like to catch up for coffee sometime."
"I don't know Billy."
"Please, it'll be fun. Can’t we just- It’s just coffee. It’s been what? 5 years?” 7 years, 6 months, 1 week and 3 days. “I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to.”
"One coffee." You give in so easily like you always have, scribbling your number down on one of Jimmy's business cards and handing it to Billy, "in case you deleted my number."
"I didn't."
"Just let me know when you're free."
XXx
"Hey,” Billy smiles as you answer on the fourth ring, “just wanted to see if you were free tomorrow?" Billy says as you answer the call and when you stay silent he keeps talking, "if you're not, that’s cool. We can catch up another time."
"I ah-"
"What's wrong?" He says, instantly recognising your tone. The tone that says you’re angry, but you don’t want to show it. Billy knows you're with him, he saw James. He watched the both of you go up the evaluator ten minutes ago.
"Now isn’t a good time." you stutter out, hanging up the call.
Billy picks up his glass, swirling it as he leans onto the large window of his apartment. He spots you in a second. Your hand on your hip while James turns away from you. Billy sips at his whiskey as you pace your apartment. James follows you, his arms flying around wildly. You spin on your heel, as Billy clicks open his phone, easily selecting your number and calling again under the guise of concern.
He knows the moment your phone starts ringing and you flip it over on the counter. James looks like he's yelling now. When the call rings out, Billy flicks open a message as you sit down in what looks like a huff.
Hi, you seemed upset. Hope everything is ok.
James is still swanning about, flapping his arms about as you sit on the sofa. Billy smiles, it took a lot of work to get you an apartment directly opposite his. It was worth every penny to get to see you argue with the man you up tried to replace him with. Like you could ever replace him, he sure as shit had a hard time trying to replace you.
Billy smirks as the theatrics of the rest of the argument unfolds, the scotch in his hand empty as your boyfriend starts to throw clothes into a bag. You follow him, trying desperately to get James’ attention. He should have put mics in your apartment, so he could listen to this man tell you how insecure he is, how he knows he’ll never compare to the love you shared, tell you he knows how much better you’d be without him and how it eats away at him.
You’re crying, Billy hates it, but it needs to be done. He pours another drink as the idiot finally leaves with his bag. Billy waits. Waiting for the call that he knows is coming. Who else could you call? You don’t know anyone else in the city, there's only one person in this city of millions who knows you well enough to make you feel safe. So, he waits. Waits for the call that he knows is coming.
It only takes 2 hours. He’s been watching you, you cried into the couch for 30 minutes before grabbing a bottle of wine and slipping into the bedroom. He resists the urge to go to you, to wrap his arms around you and dry those pretty tears. An hour later you reappear with a tub of ice-cream and lay down on the couch. He’s on his third glass of whiskey, when his phone starts to vibrate. He waits a moment, setting his glass down before reclining and reading the text.
Kitten: Billy, are you free now?
Billy: I am. Is everything alright? You seemed upset
Kitten: Fine, just have some time to kill.
Billy: Do you know Cool Beans? It’s on the corner of-
Kitten: yeah, The red brick place? I know it. Can we meet in 30?
Billy: I’ll see you there.
Billy arrives a few seconds after you, following you down the street will do that. He watched you, your shoulders hunched over, your pace quicker than he thought it would be. You must be desperate to see him. Good.
He enters the cafe, immediately spotting you sitting at a table near the back wall. You look so beautiful in those yoga pants, your pretty hair tied up in a bun. He only sees that your face is still fresh from where you tried to wash the tears away, when you lift it from your hands.
"Didn't mean to be late,” Billy lies as he approaches your table, "got caught up with a work thing.” his face changes to concern as he gets closer and he can see the red in your eyes. “Are you okay? You look like you’ve been crying?”
"Yeah,” you rub your eyes and smile up at him, “I only just got here."
Billy spends the next hour asking you a million questions, like he doesn’t already know. Sure, he doesn’t need you to tell him, but he loves to hear you talk and the way you tell your story. He loves how talking distracts you and you start to smile.
You’re on your second cup of coffee and your third piece of cake when you let out a sigh. Small tears run down your cheek as Billy reaches out to hold your hand. “You can tell me, maybe I can help?” he tries to comfort you, without reaching too far too fast.
Resting your head in your hand you look up at him. Whispering about how your boyfriend decided to go on a fishing trip with his friends suddenly. How you thought you’d be spending the weekend together and now you’ve been left in a city you don’t know by yourself. You leave out some of the hurtful things James said to you, brushing them aside as you squeeze on Billy's hand. You really want to talk to him, to sort this out, but he’s screening your calls and all because you had a call from an old friend. You confess all this to him and he just stares at you, his eyes sympathetic and you feel like you’ve crossed a line. “Sorry, you just wanted a coffee and I’ve dropped all this on you.” you start to pull your hand away, but Billy gives you a tight squeeze.
"Why don't you come hang out with me? I don’t live far from here."
"I don't know. I’m sure I’ve already ruined your day.”
“Don’t be silly. It'll be fun. We can watch legally blonde and eat junk food.”
“You promise?” you wipe the tears from your cheek, “I feel like I just lumped all my problems on you and now you’re just trying to make me feel better.”
“I am. I just thought you might wanna see a friendly face,” he pauses, standing up and grabbing your coat, “maybe not be alone.”
“I really don’t want to be a burden.”
“You could never burden me.” Billy helps you slip on your coat, and when you duck away from him he steps in front of you, “I mean it. Never.”
“Thanks,” you give him such a tiny smile.
“I’m just down the street.”
“Alright, lead the way.” you agree, thoughts of sitting alone in your apartment looking over everything. Replaying the fight over and over again/ Wondering where James could actually be, is he going to come back? This is exactly what you need, a distraction and if the distraction happens to be a tall, handsome, expensive suit wearing old friend, who are you to complain? Maybe today is just the luckiest unlucky day ever.
You walk together, your shoulders brushing as you make your way down the busy street. Billy walks you in a circle, around several unnecessary buildings hoping that you don't notice that his apartment building is opposite yours. But as you approach the glass towers you point out your new place on the other side of the road.
“Weird, what are the chances,” you ponder, thinking it must be fate that Billy lives just across the way from you. Maybe moving to the city was the universe's way of telling you things are looking up. Billy’s changed so much since the last time you saw him on that cold winter night. He’s grown, seems more mature, more at ease in his own skin. But the way he looks at you, the feelings that swim still inside your heart, maybe this wasn’t a good idea. You glance over at him and he’s still smiling at you, in that soft, warm way that calls to you.
“Yeah, that is weird. Small worlds huh?”
“Mm, must be.” You shrug, following him up to the elevator.
When you make it to his apartment Billy tries not to be smug about how much bigger it is than yours. About how his huge windows have a clear view of the city and how you're already taking off your coat and making yourself at home.
“Do you want a drink?”
“Yeah that'd be nice. Do you gave any-”
“Prosecco? I think I have a bottle here somewhere,” He opens the fridge with 3 bottles in it, ready and waiting for you.
“Thanks,” taking the glass he offers you. You relax into the large sofa, resting your drink on your knee.
“So you had a fight and he left huh?” Billy asks, sitting down next to you. A drink in his hand as his arm spreads out behind you on the couch, “Seems a bit extreme.”
“Basically. I can't believe he'd be so jealous.” You huff, taking a sip of your wine, “we haven't seen each other in years. And he just- I don’t get it. That he could think-” you roll your eyes, trying not to see the way Billy is looking at you.
“I wouldn't have called if I knew it was going to be a problem for you.” he gives your shoulder a squeeze, “You should’ve just said.” like he would’ve listened, like he wouldn’t have tried again and again.
“I know, he's just being irrational. Hopefully he'll come around.” you shuffle, adjusting yourself on the couch and resting your head on Billy's shoulder. It feels nice, safe. Like for the first time in hours you can breathe again.
“He's an idiot if he doesn't,” he moves to wipe away a tear that's falling down your cheek, “he'd be an idiot to lose you.”
“What does that make you?” you ask, peering up at him, forgetting just how close your faces are with your head resting on his shoulder.
“Biggest idiot ever,” his sincerity beaming into you, “or luckiest man alive, to run into you in that store. Take your pick.”
“Billy.”
“Kitten.”
“Haven’t heard that in a very long time,” the mention of your old nickname sends a shiver down your spine and the blood pumping into your veins like it always did when he called you that.
“Haven't said it in a long time either.” his hand brushes along your cheek, “I missed you, Kitten.”
“Billy.”
“Do you want to watch the movie?” he asks, so softly his fingers gently stroking over your cheekbones, “I can move, if it makes you more comfortable.” he doesn’t want to, doesn't want to ever let you go now that he’s finally got his hands on you. "Or you can yell and scream at me," he suggests, "like old times. “Take some of that anger out on me." He hopes you take the bait, desperately wants you too. But this is important, you need to choose this. Even if he had made getting you to this choice possible.
“Is that what you want?" you ask, pulling your head back.
"What I want? I told you already, all I want is for you to be happy."
"Oh." You stand, hands on your hips, "how could that possibly be true?" You turn from him as you start to walk away, "I know that's a lie."
"It's not a lie, Kitten."
"It fucking is." You spin, your eyes glaring daggers into him. Fuck, you're beautiful, "you want me to be happy?" You stomp, "I was happy. Once. A long time ago." You shout, stamping towards him with your finger pointed at him. So pretty when you're angry. "You were the person who took that away from me."
"I miss you."
"You miss me?" You slap at his chest, "it's your fault you don't have me!"
"I need you."
"The only thing you ever needed in your life was violence. You never needed me!" You feel the fury in your hands start to shake as Billy lets you slap at him.
"I always needed you," he stops your hands holding them close to his heart, "I needed you so badly it scared the shit outa me."
"So you ran." You pull your hands free, glaring up at him with such defiance in those pretty eyes.
"I did." He reaches out for you, but you step back, "not my finest moment. Probably the stupidest thing I ever did."
"So what now, Billy? We’re just meant to be friends?" You throw your hands up in the air, "pretend like whatever we had is gone?"
"Don't look at me like that."
"Like what William?"
"Don't."
"What William? Tell me I'm wrong."
"I think we’re getting too heated. We just need to take a breath." He hopes you take the bait, that you see his lie for what it is. So he turns away, " you don't mean that."
"This conversation is not over, William." He can hear you stomping towards him, "don't you fucking turn away from me again." You shout grabbing him by wrist and slapping in his face when he turns back to you.
"You feel better now?"
"No. You asshole. I don't feel better!" You attempt to slap him again, but he catches your hand in his.
"Stop."
"Fuck you."
"Yeah, fuck me. I'm an asshole." He stares down at you, watching your eyes as he releases your hand. "What are you going to do about it?" His eyes trace over your tongue as it slips over your lips.
"William." Your hand wraps onto his collar pulling his lips to yours and you melt into his kiss. Shit, did he always taste this sweet? Yeah, he did. But with the tang over whiskey on his tongue you may become addicted. His hands slip into your hair, holding your face so close as you cling to him. His heart soars as your body presses into him, his hands unable to control the way they roam over your body.
You can’t stop kissing, neither of you saying anything as you rush to undress each other as he guides you both towards his bedroom.
You fall back onto the bed together, both panting from the lack of air. "Are you sure about this Kitten?" He asks you, he needs to know. He craves it, the knowledge that you want him just as badly as he wants you.
"Is It wrong to want this?" You ask, your hand already travelling down his torso towards his cock, "that I missed it?"
"You miss me too or just my dick?"
"I missed all of you."
"Are you worried he will find out?”
“I hadn’t even-” he cuts off your train of thought.
“We keep this between us." He slows down the pace of your hand, gently pressing kisses into your neck, "I won't tell a soul, just tell me you want me."
"I want you." That's all he needs to hear as he grabs your legs wrapping around your waist as he leans down over you.
“Tell me again.”
“I want you, Billy.”
"Fuck, you’re so wet already."
"I am"
"For me?"
"Yes, Billy."
"Good girl, now open up for me." He says as his cock prodding at your pussy, itching to get inside. He swipes it up and down, gathering your wetness on his cock, "let me in, kitten." He moans as he reaches the end of you.
He kisses you fiercely, the feeling of coming home overwhelms him as he thrusts into you. His hands gripping tight at your hips, his chest weighing down on your as your fingers roam over his back.
"I missed you," he breaks the kiss, his nose bumping yours as he stares down in your eyes, "did you miss this?"
"Missed you, so much." You moan in reply, your nails digging into his back. You need him closer, need his hands all over you and his marks on your pretty skin and his name on your lips.
"You're so fucking beautiful."
"Billy, you-" you pant his cock grinds into you, brushing against your g spot.
"That's it. Clamp down on me, Kitten." His hands slip up from your thighs, grabbing a better hold at your waist so he can pound his cock into you, "Shit, you feel too good. I need to- slow."
But you're so close, you can't slow down. You grind your hips into him, feeling the head of his cock flexing inside you and making your legs start to twitch, "you're getting close"
"Please don't stop, Billy."
"I won't."  He moves you, grabbing hold of your waists and pulling you up onto his lap. "I got you." His strong arms lift you, fucking you onto his cock, your head barely hanging on as your clit starts to brush against his lean torso.
Your arms wrap around his shoulders, your fingers in his hair, pulling his head back from your tits and making him look up at you, "I missed you."
"I love you." He admits as his fingers bite into your side, "I love you." You free his hair and his face slides into your tits, exhaling into the soft flesh, biting and pinching with his mouth.
"You-" you try to breathe, "you can't mark me Billy."
"Say that you love me." He moves to the other breast swirling your nip in his mouth, his eyes not leaving yours.
"You can't- he'll"
"Mean it."
You grab at his hair again, pulling him off you as your hand connects with his face, "I love you."
"Do it again."
"I love you." You slap him again, this time following it up with a kiss as his hands slip up your back and cradles you close to him.
"My Kitten." He sinks you back into the mattress, his whole body towering over you as he moves faster and more desperately. "Fucking perfect Kitten." His cock is so deep inside you when he starts to grind down into you, "cum for me." He keeps it in, the grinding sends your legs wild as your back arches underneath him, "what a pretty girl," he whispers as his lip brush over yours, "cum Kitten." He grips at your thighs, holding your pussy over his cock when you try to squirm away, "cum for me."
You moan his name, along with a garbled cry that sounds like a chicken let loose as your back arches all the way off the bed, your tits push into his chest and your eyes start to cross.
"Keep cumming Kitten," Billy's cock throbs inside of you and the wave still going, "fuck I'm so close." He pulls out just a little, before plunging back in, "where do you want it?"
"Insi-" you try to say as another wave of pleasure washes over you.
"Kitten," he smiles, as his own pleasure is reaching its peak, "you want to take my cum inside you?"
"Yes."
"You want me to fill you up?".
"Please Billy."
"Good girl." He starts to shake, his eyes open wide as he watches you still riding out your own pleasure, "I love you." He screams as he floods your insides with his cum.
He doesn't stop and within seconds you feel a third wave washing over you and your whole body starts to twitch as your mind goes numb, "I love you." You whisper ,your words hoarse and breathless as you start to gently comb your fingers through his hair.
"Kitten," he whispers into your shoulder as his whole body drops on to you, "you ok?"
"Great, beyond great."
"Not angry anymore?"
"No."
"Good, I'm going to roll us. You ready?" You give him a small nod and Billy rolls you on top of him. His fingers dance along your spine as you rest on his chest. "I'll grab you some water in a minute. I just wanna hold you a bit longer."
"Mm, this is nice." You start to pepper kisses on his chest, "I missed this the most."
"The angry fight sex?" He laughs, brushing your hair from your face when you look up at him.
"No, the cuddles after." You reach up and boop his nose, "you're always so sweet after."
"How could I ever stay mad at you when you take me so well? My pretty Kitten." He holds you tighter, like if he doesn't you're going to drift away again. “And then you smile at me like that.”
"See, sweet."
"Only for you."
"Hmm," you ponder, still wrapped up in your afterglow, "no one ever loved me the way you do." you whisper the throw away thought.
"They couldn't.” he gives you a tiny kiss on your hand,  “Noone else appreciated how spectacular you are."
"I'm not, I-".
"You are the most incredible person I've ever met. And I never knew what you wanted with me or what I did to deserve you, but I know that my life is not right without you in it. In whatever way I can have you."
"Billy what are we going to do about-" he cuts you off with a kiss.
"Don't." He pleads, "not while I'm still inside you. This is all I need," he gives you a squeeze, "to know that you're mine, that you love me too."
"I'm not yours."
"You have always been mine, Kitten."

Sooo do you think if the rise turtles had a human or fluffy mutant so when it’s cold and snowy and the heatings not working, do you think they’d brag to the other turtles that their s/o is their own personal oven and their brothers should be jealous? (Donnie messages them to brag about this rather than speak it in person. Probably locked him and his s/o in his lab so Leo can’t fuck with them in revenge). Also can I get something on s/o offering their turtle cuddles in bed cuz s/o is 100% fine and their boyfriend are freezing?
Thank you for this request!! I really love this one Ilysm <33
Tumblr media
Ice cold
——————————————————————————
You met the turtles through big mama. Let me explain. When big mama asked the turtles for help and they set off for the task, you were called into her office. You knew this wasn’t good. As you sat down in her chair you could feel all her eight eyes on you.
“Hello fluffy-poo I have just sent some turtles out to do a curtain job for me. I want you to help me capture them when they get back here. Understand?” You froze. You didn’t like her plans you only stayed here because you had no place to go to. People hated your kind. Mutants. Well you were actually a yokai. A very fluffy yokai. “But big mama I don’t really wan-“ you could barely finish before she interrupted you. “Are you disagreeing with me? After all I have done ! I gave you a place to say , your my best fighter you know. I want you to do great things fluffy-poo don’t you get that?” You looked down and nodded. You felt sick helping her , but she gave you a place to stay when no one else would. She’s the reason your probably not dead right now. As the turtles came in you took the ooze-squitos from the red ones hand you couldn’t help but listen to their words. “She’s…. Adorable” *your turtle of choice* whispered. You smiled at you contemplated giving the green coloured bugs to big mama. Her smirk to you and signal meant you now had to try and capture them. The two body guards moved towards them and the turtles, they could fight !! Pretty well. As they got thrown onto the floor you held off the guards. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING Y/N , I have you home and I can take it!!” You pushed the guards away and knocked them out one by one. The turtles watched in awe as you fought so well ! As you fought the last guard you ran the turtles to help them up. You turned on the elevator and pushed them inside. “Go , get out of this place ! It’s not safe for you. I will take care of big mama.” They gave you a sympathetic look as they all ran to the elevator. The orange one turned around to see you smash the glass bottle of the ooze-squitos and sent big mama into a hissy fit. You turned around to see the brothers running to you as big mama tried to strike you. You ran with a confused look on your face. “We can’t just leave you in here with her, not after you just saved us” you smiled and thanked them. You all moved into the elevator going down to your room to grab your stuff. You only came last month so you still had your suitcase full of things. You Grabbed it and ran with them. Suddenly the blue turtle seemed to have met up with you guys and gave you a questioning look as you ran outside the hotel. The 3 brothers explained what happened and they all took you to their lair. Later that day you met April. Who happened to be your childhood best friend! You two bonded quick and she soon let you stay now at your guys apartment. But , one of the turtles really caught your eye. And apparently you caught their eye as well! You two started talking and now you’re dating ! He loves your fluffiness and your warmth ever since winter came around…
Raph❤️
- he would absolutely love it
- He would text you to come over just because he is cold
- He would be a bit scared about you catching on his spikes but you prove him wrong
- Because your so so fluffy you couldn’t even feel the spikes!
- Cuddle and Jupiter Jim marathons in the winter are to die for
- Also I see him coming up behind you while your doing something and just brushing his face in your fluffiness
- In his eyes , your his personal heater during those chilly months
- When you come over when it cold he would brag about how no one else will get warm because he has his own heat pack
- You!
- They would all roll their eyes at him but once you two get to his room , you two are not coming out soon
- You love it due to your fluffiness being too much warmth so he is the perfect temperature to cool you off while he gets warmed up
- He would carry you around just so he can be close to you and feel the heat!
Mikey🧡
- in my opinion he is the coldest turtle out of the four brothers
- Once he actually realises that your a walking heater
- He will none stop cling to you
- He is just walking around freezing when he sees you cooking
- Mikey would climb your back just to get a piece of your fluffy warmth
- Cuddle sessions after a mission are amazing
- He would always fall asleep on your chest
- The brothers would soon catch on to what he was doing
- The clinginess seemed a bit too much for mikey
- They felt your fur and soon became aware of Mike’s little secret
- He was the coldest turtle by touch , but with you he felt as though your heat could lull him to sleep
- Would defo go on the brothers group chat and brag about how warm he is
- Especially when it snows
- That boy is all over you
- He loves you very much
Leo💙
- omg
- This boy.
- When he finds out your secret heat
- He is all over you
- He would send photos to his brothers of you two cuddling captioned “you guys feel that ? Oh yeah sorry would that be the cold because I definitely can’t 👹”
- Leo would wait at your apartment freezing as ever
- When you walk through the door he is sweet talking you to the couch
- He is smooth , ngl 😩
- He would set you on the couch and fall asleep on your chest floof
- ok , so you have two options
- One take a pic and use it as blackmail
- Orr you can leave him be
- Because he is not going to get up anytime soon
- Sooo get some popcorn because you are in for a long ride
- He would run up and hug you just to feel your floof and heat
- He is physical touch depending
- So you two are a total power couple
Donnie 💜
- as he spends the most time in his lab
- It’s is naturally cold in there
- Soo he did the next best thing
- He has a heater in their
- But one time
- During New York’s biggest snow season yet
- After a huge explosion in his lab
- It broke his beloved heater
- As he sat in his lab
- Inevitably waiting his cold doom
- That’s when you walk in with some hot coffee
- You see him on the ground shaking
- His body Aches for warmth
- You help his get up onto his seat
- You instantly know what to do
- You put the coffee on his desk
- Which he thanks you for
- And sit in his lap
- At first he stiffs up, but when you tap your arms around him he gives in
- He finally felt warmth for what felt like the first time ever
- He hugs you back and falls asleep with his head atop of yours
- Now , he texts you a secret code to indicate he wants warming up
——————————————————————————
Hope you guys enjoyed this one
Phew ! Another one done !! Keep the requests coming !!

💙The Mutant Mayhem boys with an ftm boyfriend/crush💙
Tumblr media
Leonardo
- Bless this guy's heart. With the way you nervously pulled him aside during a hangout at the lair, hands shaky and eyes escaping his own, Leo seriously thought you were going to break up with him.
- You could tell he was starting to panic and quickly de-escalated it, comforting your anxious, teary-eyed boyfriend by hugging him close.
- After calming down, he asked you what was really going on, and, well... you told him. Openly, with scattered giggles and stuttered words, as well as a few stray tears.
- Leo was quick to place his thumbs on your face and rub the tears away, listening closely as you told him everything.
- Proudly proclaims (when you're comfortable with it) about having you as his sweet, wonderful boyfriend.
- Constantly checks his internal alarm clock (as well as his phone) whenever he knows you're wearing a binder. Leo worries he's being too overprotective, but that thankful smile of yours whenever he does bring it up washes all the bad thoughts away.
- Reassures you whenever you're feeling down about yourself (best boy) and claims that he'd physically fight your dysphoria if he could.
- You're saved as "Prince💙" in his phone and his brothers never let him live it down.
- Totally relates to your insecurities of not being "manly enough" and so, you two hype each other up, in your own cringy, dorky lovestruck way.
- "You're so handsome!"
"No, you!"
- If you have a similar taste in clothes to him, get ready to be dogpiled by his brothers for the crimes of "dressing like bestbuy employees" and "looking like you're gonna sell them an insurance plan"
- With the way you laugh it off, Leonardo can't help but join you, adoring your new-found confidence and the loving look you gave him as you met his eyes.
- Cringefail boyfriends fr
Raphael
- He was kind of confused at first, but listened intently as you explained how you felt, occasionally taking your hand in his and toying with your fingers.
- Raphael never gave much thought to his orientation, even after falling in love with you and getting together. He may need some help understanding a few things, but he's thrilled to call you his boyfriend.
- Like... Nothing changed. You're just a boy to him now.
- You were a little nervous about him not making a big deal out of it, but it quickly turned into relief once he crushed cuddled you for the rest of the night, occasionally making some VERY crude gay jokes to make you laugh.
- Will not let up with the "no homo" jokes after you tell him. The both of you could literally be kissing and-
"I love you so much, Raph"
"Love ya too. No homo though right?"
- Loves it when you laugh and/or scoff at these jokes
- Since you're a guy, Raph figures he can tell you all about gross guy things like he does with his brothers. He's just that comfortable with you.
- If you're trying to put on muscle, he's all smiles and already dragging you to the training area. You're not getting out of this. (affectionate)
- Raphael actually has a pretty good fashion sense and would be really flattered if you asked him for advice. He'll never admit that though, obviously.
- One time, you came home with a pair of matching red and black jerseys, in yours and his respective sizes.
- Raph.exe stopped working
- Like... Face redder than his mask type of gay panic.
- Offered to steal testosterone for you more than once.
- Noogies you/threatens to shove you into lockers affectionately. When you confront him about his nerd/jock thing, he just malfunctions and denies it.
- Would beat up anyone who gives you trouble for your identity in a heartbeat. No one messes with his man.
Donatello
- It was late at night at the lair, during one of your hours-long gaming sessions with your best friend, Donnie. He laid in his tent, shifting side to side excitedly, relieved that you couldn't see how much of a mess you made him whenever he heard your voice.
- And yet Donnie made the effort to hide his feelings, because you two were friends. Wait, no. He was your BEST friend.
- ... Who had been crushing on you for ages now. Painfully so.
- Much like his older brother, Donnie misinterprets your anxious tone and stuttering as something different, thinking you were about to tell him you've always loved him and wanted to be together forever-
- "Donnie, I'm trans."
- A choked sound comes out through the other end of the call as Donnie faceplants into his pillows, face flushed in embarassment.
- "T-that's okay. I, um... Totally cool."
"You sure? You sound weird."
"*voice cracks* ..yEP!"
- Really supportive, but in a chill sorta way.
- Donnie is easily the most casual about it. Barely questions it - before you know it he's already complimenting you, telling you how well you pass.
- If you're self conscious about your voice, Don makes sure you know that he loves it and also jokes about his own, saying that you don't need a deep voice to be a man.
- "I mean... Look at me! I'm pretty much a falsetto and you like me anyways!"
- Donnie says that last part lightly, but he listens intently for your reaction, and is relieved when you laugh; he successfully cheered up his crush. Score.
- Compares you to various anime guys he thinks resemble you - given that you may not know much about the characters or Donnie's knowledge of them. His brothers, however, noticed a pattern - they're always the anime boy archetypes he seems to favor the most.
- And so they tease him, relentlessly, mercilessly, about his crush on you.
- "Donnie's got a tyyyypeeee!"
"Quit it, Mikey!"
"C'mon guys, maybe he wants to go see his boyfriend!"
"H-he's not! Shut up, Raph! You know what? I'm gonna go."
"What, you miss your senpai already?"
"WHAT THE HECK LEO!?"
Michelangelo
- You sort of came out to Mikey shortly after becoming his friend. Being a member of drama club, you were lucky enough to find yourself in a supportive environment and you were finally free to be yourself, much like the turtles.
- Mikey always tiptoed around the idea of what romance could be like and, well... you were just his type.
- You didn't mock him, or treat him like the weakest one of the group or anything. You took him seriously.
- And so Mikey was seriously obsessed with you.
- So much so that when your group was tasked with dressed rehearsals for the play you'd been practicing together, he can barely look in your general direction as you slip off the stage garments to reveal black underarmor.
- It was chill. You were just friends. Totally chill. Be cool. Mikey could do that, right?
- "W-wait, where are you going?"
- He was struggling with removing his shirt, the thin cotton getting caught on his shell. Mikey stood there, watching you step out of the changing rooms and into one of the bathroom stalls, face flushed and arms raised awkwardly as he fiddled with the shirt.
- "I just gotta get this binder off. S'been knocking the wind outta me!"
"O-Oh..."
- Unexpectedly, Mikey's kinda paranoid about you binding. It leads to some awkward questions, but he's genuinely worried and means well.
- Mikey gets very passive aggressive whenever someone misgenders you on purpose; you may have to hold him back a bit.
- Does his best to cheer you up when you feel down about yourself. This man will NOT rest until that handsome smile is back on your face.
- Tries to low-key sneak it into conversations that he likes guys. And that you're a guy. And that he REALLY likes guys. And-
- He's just a gay mess, forgive him.

So here’s what went down…
Ah, yes.
Tumblr media
The infamous “Splinter passes on the mantle of Sensei” scene.
Possibly the most misinterpreted scene in the history of 2012turtle scenes. (Perhaps I shall get to the others someday.)
I’ve always assumed that the verdict for this scene was the same for all, and I never knew people hated, or even disliked, Splinter for his choices in this until recently. And it has been eating away at me, because I don’t think ya’ll understand what’s going on here.
Maybe you do, but…
Tumblr media
Can I point out exactly what I saw happen here?
Yeah?
Thanks. 🤎
1: Splinter is not sleeping and is ‘distant’, making Leo worried enough to inquire about his health. He’s clearly spending every second agonizing over what’s coming, and meditation is probably his only solace from the burden of his fears. (I do the same thing when I’m anxious. Distract and distance, it helps me feel a sense of- control, I guess.) 2: Splinter does not address Leo’s question. He’s already tried to tell Leo what was going on before this, and now he wants to focus on what he feels is important. His family. He immediately changes the subject (limping in a way that has me suddenly concerned because GUYS HE HURT AND OLD AND GOING TO FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE PLEASE NO-) and asks Leo why he made him leader. 3: Leo awkwardly repeats what he said, “Because I asked to be… You said it wasn’t because of my skills…” (THAT’S ONE INTENSE OF A WEIGHT TO CARRY IF YOU REALLY THINK ABOUT IT, THE HECK-) and Splinter corrects, “I said that only to temper your ego at the time. I knew even when you were a small boy, that you would one day grow up to be the leader of this team.” -Can I just add that he’s not saying this literally. He’s the cryptic, wise, know-it-all sensei. He’s not saying, “I planned to make you soldiers and for you to lead the fight”. He’s saying, “You have always been the one to teach, protect, and lead your brothers, and there was absolutely no one else as perfect for the job.”
Seriously. Lookit baby Leo guarding them while daddy’s away. 💙💙
Tumblr media
4: And then he throws everyone watching through a loop: “And when I pass on, to be like a father as well.” And just like us, Leo’s got a whole lot of “EXCUSE ME, WHAT?!” going down.
Tumblr media
5: But Splinter’s going stay his cryptic self by clearing no air. (Okay, but let’s think about WHY for a moment. We know our leader in blue by now. If Leo knew exactly what he knew, martyr instincts would kick in hard core, and he would do everything it takes to make sure their father survives. And Master Splinter isn’t going to sit here and let Leo go on a suicide quest. From his POV- He’s old. He’s lived his life. He can try to accept his own death. He will not accept Leo’s.)
6: Splinter imparts this saying that I love with everything in me. “Leonardo. If I can only impart one piece of wisdom that will remain with you forever…” (Ergo, Dude, this is Important. Pay attention to what Imma about to say) “Remember. Giving guidance to your brothers and friends does not come from here…”
Tumblr media
“It comes from here…”
Tumblr media
THIS IS DEEP, YO. IT SAYS SO MUCH AND IT’S SO SIMPLE-
And people are MAD AT HIM FOR THIS?!
Sorry, sorry- emotions. I’m breathing. I’m breeaaathing… Okay. Yes, I get the gist of the arguments. ‘Splinter made Leo head of the household and that was a terrible thing for him to do. Leo’s too young for that responsibility, he already has the weight of being leader on his shoulders, and that’s a burden his mourning heart can’t carry. It’s cruel for him to do such a thing.’
Or-
Tumblr media
And-
Tumblr media
@tmntforeverinmyheart and @stardustartist, everyone’s opinion is built off of observations, beliefs, and their own POV on events, and every opinion matters. Thank you for yours. 💚
Now onto mine-
I don’t know what this quote from Splinter means to you guys, but to me, it’s his way of trying to fix things!
I think he finally realized that he done messed up. He knows that he put Leo in a position of ‘I am leader, and mission always comes first’. He’s had plenty of time to see the damage he’s done, and he’s worried of what will come off his family if he doesn’t fix it.
Leo is too far into his head. He isn’t thinking with his heart- “what will happen to my family with me gone?”. He’s thinking with his head, “lives are at stake and I’m the leader- self sacrifice it is.”
Every mission, every step, every choice is a plan, and his life is simply a factor in it. A pawn to be thrown away to complete the important task. It doesn’t hold meaning because of what Splinter told him all the way back in season one, and his father is finally realizing it. (ABOUT FREAKING TIME-)
He’s not telling him “don’t think”.
He’s saying, “Think another way.”

I feel you, @sr200916. A friend of mine said this exact same thing, and I wholeheartedly agree. And here’s some depth into why.
Kids without parents attach themselves to role models. Mother figures, father figures- kids need to be guided, and led, and hugged, and need that one person who can say “it’s okay” and magically the world is a little less dark.
And they’re just. KIDS. They left the sewers three/four years ago! Everything is still so wide and new and confusing and there’s still so much they haven’t learned or experienced- they’re kids.
And yes. Leo is a kid too. But who else are they supposed to turn to?
Karai?
She’s not a parents. She’s gone from enemy, to somewhat friend, to sister-in-college-who-drops-by-sometimes. She’s living her own life. They aren’t going to see her as anything more than their equal. Much less look upon her as a guardian.
April and Casey?
Best friends/honorary siblings. They aren’t going to fit that role.
Mutanimals? Leatherhead? Bishop?
Friends. Equals. People that they trust. But not anyone that they’re immediately going to lean on as a guardian. They need someone who they already look up to and trust to lead and guide them. They need someone who already has their well-being as a number one priority. They need someone who they can feel comfortable going to talk to when he can’t be there to lend advice.
-And I know what some of you are still thinking. But what about Leo?! He’s just a kid too!
And, hey, I’m not arguing. He absolutely is, and in a perfect, fair world, he would continue to have an adult to teach and guide him- but their world is neither perfect nor fair.
All his life, he’s had two solid goals: Make sensei proud. Protect my brothers.
He’s seen as the most mature brother for a reason. He’s had to grow up in a world where finishing school and getting/keeping a job isn’t his main concern. For about three years, he’s spent every night making sure that his brothers stay alive. In fact, he starts doing it almost unconsciously- taking responsibility of his brothers and their missions without filling Splinter in, as shown in Annihilation: Earth! Part 1, when he’s laying out the plans, and Splinter straight up asks, “What is going on?” and Leo brushes him off, essentially just telling him that there’s trouble, but they have it covered.
Splinter is speechless for a moment, but then consents, telling Leo that he’ll be near the cheese phone if they need him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a huge change if you really think about it, and done very subtley. They show us how their relationship has changed- Splinter no longer has the control to give the okay. Leo no longer feels like he needs Splinter guidance or permission. He’s grown up, and he’s leading with a firm hand, just as he was born to do.
And Leo also has experience raising his brothers- who do you think was acting sensei while they were in space?
Fugtoid was Donnie’s mentor, sure, but it was Leo who the brothers turned to when things got out of hand. It was Leo who had to talk sense into them, who always has the last word, who seemed on edge 24/7 as the season progressed, seeing the dangers space held and sending away his team when the evil space station was sent to go boom.
Whether fans like it or not, a leader, a sensei, is simply who Leo is.
There’s a reason he always gets heated and offended when he thinks his place is being challenged-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leo thrives under that sense of control, and his brother thrive knowing that the control lies in someone else’s hands.
Now, with their father gone, it’ll lie in the hands of the brother that they trust with it most (whether Raph admits it or not) because he’s proven himself time and time again to be able to handle it.
Splinter isn’t stupid. He knows his boys. He knows exactly who Leo’s younger brothers are going to turn to after he’s gone for good this time, and he needs Leo to realize this too. Perhaps he hopes the burden will be easier to bear if it’s given slowly, instead of chucked out of nowhere.
Splinter was not purposefully ‘parentifying’ Leo. There’s a reason he waited so long. Maybe he was never going to say anything at all. Maybe he was struggling with the choice, and when Leo walked in to ask if he was okay, he made a last-minute decision.
Splinter knew it was going to happen. Leo was going to become head of the household, whether or not he said anything about it. It’s how their family dynamic always shapes out- there’s a reason the fans call Leo a mother hen!
It was always going to happen. So instead of standing by and letting fate play out, Splinter decided to interviene.
He wasn’t putting the burden on Leo’s shoulder. He was reassuring his son that he could handle it. He was giving advice on how to take care of his brothers. He was trying to help, not to hurt.
Obviously Leo is going to end up hurting. Obviously, it’s going to be hard. Obviously, it’s going to be a lot to adapt too. For Splinter’s sake- their father is going to die!
But his brothers will be there for him. He may be acting sensei, but we’re shown that they have his back. (Raph’s talk with Mikey on the rooftop is a very prominent piece of proof.)
Splinter knows that no one else can do the job better, and by voicing that he’s sensei, no one else should be able to take Leo’s family away from him. At the end of the day, as the eldest, he will be the one who bears the Hamato legacy (remember, Karai is busy shaping the Foot legacy anew), but unlike Yoshi, Leo will not be alone. He’ll have family and friends to back him up when things get difficult.
It’s a heavy title, but one that Leo is ready to carry.
Except… For one pretty major flaw. A flaw Splinter encouraged, and a flaw that he knows cannot stay.
The martyr complex.
That, is what I believe the “use your heart and not your head” phrase is meant to squash. And I believe with everything in me that it does. Leo’s life is no longer just a chess game. If this pawn doesn’t come home from a mission, his team suffers. His brothers suffer.
He is no pawn, and he can’t afford to see himself as one. He cannot afford to treat his life like it’s expendable. There’s more at stake then just the mission, and deep down in his heart, he knows that. He’s no longer just a leader. He is a father, and he has a family to live for.
And… Can I just add that Splinter’s not just up and abandoning him?
When Leo doesn’t know what to do next after his father is gone- Splinter is there. When it looks like he’s been defeated by the Shredder- Splinter is there. When they face their first real threat since his passing, and Leo is in the dojo struggling with what to do- Splinter is there.
“Leonardo, I know you feel the weight of leading your family, but remember, I am always with you.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean- come on! Even in the afterlife, he’s looking over him!
He knows the burden on his son’s shoulders, and he’s come to help and warn to relieve it, if only a little.
Should he also have appeared to his others sons? ABSOLUTELY!
Could he…?
Well…
Don’t get me wrong- They’d have every right to be upset if they find out that Splinter appeared to Leo and not to them. But I’m sure there was a good reason- Leo mentions “meditating for weeks” after his father’s death at one point, so his spiritual strength, place in front of the altar, and need to speak to his father could have urged down “Mr. Higher Spiritual Plane”.
That’s why Donnie couldn’t see him when he walked in. This wasn’t a ghost doing his own thing, this was a spirit summoned down by Leo. When Donnie startled him, Leo lost concentration, and Splinter disappeared.
But, it’s still going to hurt, knowing he appeared to Leo and not them…
And should he have told his other sons that he was going to die?
….No. Just, no.
For one: He only hinted at the fact with Leo because he felt it was necessary to pass on certain information, to help him prepare for what’s coming. He didn’t give him specifics, no matter how much he begged.
If he told any of the brothers- Donnie would not rest until he pressed him for every ounce of information, Mikey would not have been able to handle the thought of something happening to Splinter, and Raph probably would have died that night on the rooftop trying to stop the prediction from becoming reality.
All of them would have wanted to stay with him after the warehouse fire, and I believe Splinter separated them for a reason.
As the youngest brothers, Donnie and Mikey needed to be shielded from memories that their analytical and photographic minds would not have been able to handle. It would have broken them to see their father die.
Leonardo would spent the rest of his days hating himself for being there and not preventing it. He’d drown in the guilt and fear- because if he couldn’t doing anything, how can he be certain that he’ll be able to keep his brothers safe? How can he be trusted with their lives when he couldn’t even save their father?
This way- Leo knows he’s been sent away, and he knows Splinter’s the reason that he couldn’t protect him. The blame isn’t as strong because he wasn’t there, and that was Splinter’s fault. It’s easier to manage when there’s another to pass on the blame.
Splinter didn’t let him protect him, and by doing so, protected Leo.
Now, Splinter’s sons would have put up a fuss or gotten suspicious if one of them didn’t go with him, so he made an educated choice.
Raphael is the strongest of the brothers. Out of all of them, he’s the most likely to mentally and physically survive the battle. He doesn’t let guilt swallow him like Leo does- he turns it into anger, and uses that anger to defend his family better next time. Out of all of them, Splinter hoped that Raph would be able to handle the memories, and the show basically tells us that he does- his maturity to accepting Leo as sensei was both shocking and relieving.
Now, I’m not saying every choice made here was inherently a good one. There’s a lot of choices made in Splinter’s life that are questionable- but every choice he makes is only in his sons’s best interest. At one point, Splinter was going to run the last of his clan. He was raised to prepare for war. His sensei could have groomed him with a leader mentality, and the notion to never put his life over the sake of his clan’s, since he was supposed to lead them one day.
He’s a single dad living in the sewers who doesn’t understand the internet and fears human contact- the only way he knows to raise his children are based off experiences with his own family, and his culture. Making Leo a martyr was a mistake, and he sees that now.
So to summarize:
No one was being made a parent. Leo is a verified mother hen, and he will lead. Period. It was always going to happen, and Splinter was trying to help lead the way. He probably would have given a lot more advice had his other children not interrupted.
Yes, he made a huge mistake years ago, but now he’s trying to fix that with a simply offering of advice. Follow your heart, not your mind, because at the end of the day, the heart will always lead you and your brothers home.
No, the entire family should not have known. They would have done everything in their power to stop what could not be prevented, and that could have gotten them killed. Splinter would never allow that. Their time was not up. They would not needlessly suffer because of him. Not his boys.
Just a side note: Taking care of his brothers might not be the worst thing for our mourning boy. Not only does it give him something to focus on, but, as an older sibling, I know it sometimes brings me comfort to comfort a young sibling. Maybe it’s some buried instinct in my being to keep them happy and healthy taking over, maybe it’s because I have a tiny bit of control in the moment, or maybe it’s a feeling of accomplishment that helps battle against the aching hurt eating away at me- but it helps. It really does.
It’s not like their infants, or little kids. His brother’s can fend for themselves, and they understand their place in the world much better than they did years ago. They can protect each other.
In reality, the only thing that will change is the hovering knowledge that someone is missing.
Holy chalupa, I just wrote an essay…
Back to the episode!
The rest of this isn’t too deep. So have some reactions:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I don’t understand… You’re fine, father-”
🎶I can see what’s happenin’ here🎶
HE CALLED HIM DADDY IN A DOJO SETTING AFTER ASSURING HIM THAT HE WAS WELL!
POOR BABY BLUE KNOWS BUT IS STUCK IN DENIAL- 😭❤️‍🩹
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Is there something you’re not telling me?”
Leo, he is trying to tell you! And he could have! If not for literally MILLISECONDS after he asks, Mikey interrupting. Splinter might have clarified! He might have said more! Hinted how he knows! Said he was so proud! Given advice! Cleared the air! THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS-
Ah, these poor naive boys and their bad timing….
Tumblr media
Okay, but like, how am I supposed to be annoyed at these faces. AND WHY IS RAPH OH-SO JOYOUSLY COPYING MIKEY- AND DONNIE WHAT IS THAT DEAD-EYED STARE- 🤣🤣🤣
YA’LL ARE MESSING UP MY EMOTIONS IN THIS FREAKING SCENE, YO
I’M TRYING TO BE SERIOUS IN THE MOMENT
BUT EVERY TIME THEY POP UP- 🤣
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, but is Splinter immediately taking the invitation to spend time with his sons because he knows that he doesn’t have much longer not the most wholesome thing ever?
He can’t continue this talk with the brothers present, and they’re clearly excited to go, so why not attend and make a few more bright memories before he’s gone?
Also, I deem it illegal for rock music to be this ominous-
I blame Leo for looking despondently after them and triggering bad things are about to happen emotions. Poor blue boi.
Anyway
Splinter is not a bad father. He is imperfect, but every choice he makes is for his sons’ good. They are his world. Their lives will come before his every time, even if that means giving heartbreaking advice before he has to be taken from them. He only wants what’s best for his family.
They are his sons. He is their papa.
And that’s all there is too it. 💚❤️💜💙🧡💚
I freaking love this show…
Thanks for reading!! I did my best to double-check everything that I wasn’t sure about, so that I could be as accurate as possible! Even if I didn’t change stubborn minds, I hope I gave you guys some things to think about!
Every opinion matters! Thanks for checking out mine!

Donnie
He overworks himself
So you decided to take him out on a getaway
He's suspicious because you go radio silent for a while
You only told Leo about it because the other two (especially Mikey) are bad at keeping secrets
When you guys got there
Donnie was shocked
Silk sheets, champagnes and wine, anything he could want
He was very confused as to how you afforded such a nice hotel in the Hidden City
When you told him that your parents owned it he nodded and mumbled a little
Then dove into the soft sheets
He really loves how they feel on his skin and shell
(And how pretty you look on them)
Leo
He stresses out a lot
So he take a few vacations with you every once in a while
He can teleport you anywhere in the world after all
Leo normally hand a rough plan of what was you guys were gonna do
But after a while of hardly seeing each other and a few stressful weeks
You decided to surprise him with a getaway
With the help of Raph, you kidnapped him
He woke up, confused and alert
But felt the soft sheets and saw you
He immediately relaxed
Leo enjoyed the spa, the alcohol, the pool
Everything
It was one of his favorite trips
It'll be one of his favorite memories forever
Mikey
You decided to take him away to get away from his brothers
We all know he desperately needs it
It was a fantastic get away
Mikey never felt more relaxed
He thanked your parents over and over
His favorite parts were probably the hotel room itself
The beautiful decor and bouncy mattress made it the perfect hideaway
In fact, you hardly left the room the whole week
Raph
Does this man need a break or what?
Well luckily, he has you
He was very stubborn, not wanting to leave his brothers
Worried about the mess they'll make while he's gone
But they promised to be on their best behavior (they weren't)
That first night, he hadn't slept that well in months maybe even years
Raph feels so refreshed and energized
Definitely goes hiking and other outdoor activities
He also really enjoyed the pool
He was a lot more active and alert
It made for an interesting week
