Syril Karn (Cereal Corn) and Dedra Meero, creep me out so bad. They do not need to be romantic in any way to ME.
But his obsession with Cassian being taken over by his obsession with her, and her near-death experience probably making her feel in debt and him feel entitled to her attention could lead to a very interesting arc.

Disha, someone who can show you the right direction. Indeed she's the one who showed me direction in my poems through her eyes. But she's also a girl who can't decide between "Sita ramam" and "Laila Majnu" so we can tell that she's indecisive and has yet to find direction in her life. Hope, "disha" you'll find your "disha" as well as destination. <3

A little about her:
Sitcom enthusiastic, also can't get over tragedies. Someone who should have been born into black and white era but (fortunately for me) she's here.
Conversation skills zero just like her interest in human relations. Despite her less talkative nature she's a girl's girl through and through.
Her variety of music and her fake scenarios are unmatchable duo.
She thinks about doing something productive everyday but forgets to comply due to her deep friendship with procrastination.
According to her therapy is expensive so she believes in clicking/saving pictures of moon, sky and sunsets.
She reads and writes to escape reality, just like everyone else she's hopeless romantic for fictional characters.
You can find her under sath nibhana sathiya memes and reels either dissing gopi or ahem ji or under her friend's writing posts appreciating them.
She dreams about going to hills and live their happily away from humans and their drama.
Shit posting is her favorite, just like her coffee.

It disappoints me that the Doctor has never had an East Asian companion. (Chang Lee doesn't count; he wasn't around long enough to be a companion even if he didn't spend most of his time with the Master.)
The Doctor could have picked up that Japanese scientist from Aliens of London (a xenobiologist in the TARDIS please!?)
Land in Hiroshima the day the bomb drops, pull a Pompeii-style "just save one person" and snatch someone away just in time.
Drop by ancient China and meet a footbound woman who's always longed to travel, take her away and get her some mobility aids and/or futuristic reconstructive surgery.
Save Korea's first female civilian pilot Kyung-won Park from her plane crash and take her adventuring (and let her learn to fly all sorts of alien ships).
What about a temple maiden who can see spirits and yokai that turn out to be interdimensional aliens? (If we're leaning into the fantasy elements, make her ability to see across dimensions some kind of pseudo-magic, and when she eventually leaves the Doctor she becomes an acolyte in the Sisterhood of Karn to develop her powers.)
There are just so many cool options...

I have seen your posts about Draupadi, and that is why i think only you will be able to save me from the inner turmoil within me.
Today morning, i was talking to my elder sis abt MB, and she told me that the Draupadi liked Karn at first, Krishn manipulated her into liking Arjuna. Then only Draupadi called him Sut-Putra and did not allow him to participate in the Swayamvara.
I was like "WTF?!?!"
Then i proceeded to correct her and say that:
1. There is no such thing written in Ved Vyas MB, Draupadi did not like Karn. Of course, why would she even?
2. Karn himself lost the Swayamvara as he failed to string the bow by a hairs breadth.
3. Krishn manipulating Draupadi? Why would he lol?
She told me no, this did not happen and argued with me saying that there is an entire dance piece in Bharatnatyam for this episode. Nice arguement👌.
Then she proceeded on to tell me on that Draupadi said "Andhasuya Putra Andha" to Duryodhan when he fell in the pool in Indraprastha and took away his weapons. That is why Duryodhan was angry and attempted to disrobe her later on.
I attempted to correct her again. I said Draupadi did not say a thing as she was not even present in the situation. I referred to the VV MB again. She said that no, Draupadi said that and insulted him and Dhritarashtra.
The most outrageous thing she told me:
"No, Draupadi was a very prideful, egoistic and an angry lady, and the humiliation she faced was partially her fault. That is why everyone went silent in Dyut Sabha. It is because everybody knew it was the fault of her anger and the result for insulting Duryodhan and Karn. Even after facing such humiliation, she did not 'tone down' and still demanded for Dushasan's chest blood to be washed down her hair."
I was super angry and I did not say anything. It sounded like almost she was justifying the Kauravas. And:
1. She did not ask for Dushasan's chest blood to be washed down her hair. It was not, i repeat, NOT mentioned in the scriptures.
2. Why would she have to be toned down? If i was in her place, i would have too wished for my assaulter's blood and death and his participant family's death, if not, something even worse. Hell, Draupadi did not even want his blood in the og Mahabharat.
Then she told me to read the actual sanskrit mb and learn from the verses in it and not learn from the serials. Honey, you need to fucking read it and not learn from bitchy translations. I did not argue further with her as i dont like to argue with ignorant bitches. Like ma'am, if YOU had read the oRiGinAL Mb you would have been clear abt the fact that the bloody hair washing thing was absolutely NOT written there and it was mainly popularised by the tribal performance version of Mb. And the rest of the things, let's leave that out.
Okay, first of all, Hi!!!
It seems that your sister is a huge Karna fan. I personally cite BORI CE as my source, and it seems as if your sister is the one who is giving sources from serials.
Now, who is Krishna? Krishna is a very respected god, the 8th avatar of Vishnu, he is not a MAN. He is a GOD, and should be treated as such. He is not a manipulator. Many Karna fans tend to forget that their dearest Karna is a mere human, practically puny in front of Krishna.
While I will not delve into Draupadi's incarnation stories, since those are very complicated, I will like to state that she is one of the Panchkanya, the 5 most holy and pious women from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. The other members are Ahilya, Sita, Mandodari and Tara, so I do not think that Draupadi is an egoistic or arrogant person, even if all serials show her having these qualities to some degree.
I did not understand what you meant to actually ask, but still-
Draupadi did not like Karna, yes, though her feelings towards him are not mentioned. He clearly hates her, after all, he called her a harlot in front of so many people.
Why was the whole court silent? Maybe because they are spineless men, who find their own dharma of obeying the king more important than saving a woman. Still, many men did raise their voices against the event trying to prevent, which didn't help ofc. Even Dhritarashtra didn't like the disrobing part much, but he was not going to stop his son.
The Dushasana's blood thing did not happen, but I hope it had happened in real, since Draupadi or any other woman in her place had the right to ask for the killing of the man who tried to strip her naked in front of a whole court.
Duryodhan felt insulted as he had fallen into the pond, and the PANDAVAS had laughed (Which is a very normal cousin thing. They were the ones who had pulled him out of the pond.) Plus Duryodhan had felt very, very jealous of the Pandavas' wealth, hence the plot to get their kingdom was formed.
Now, even if Draupadi had insulted and rejected Karna and Duryodhan, it does not give them the right to sexually assault a woman. How are they any different from the acid-attackers and rapists of today, who deliberately hurt the women who reject/insult them because their ego is too fragile??
My final stand on this matter is that a) I will blindly support Krishna's cause, since he is GOD, and b) Whatever happened with Draupadi was WRONG, and she was faultless. People should stop bringing the arguments regarding her behavior to defend Karna and Duryodhana's actions. Admit it, they are horrible people, and even YOU wouldn't like them if you met them irl.

SAIYAN LORE & CULTURE HEADCANONS #1 - SOCIALIZATION.
In this post, socialization refers to how each Saiyans greet each other, common phrases, and other such things.
HANDSHAKES: THEY DO NOT EXIST.
Instead, Saiyans grip each other by the forearm, and shake roughly/firmly or gently up and down, twice. Three times is pushing it-- reserved for strained bonds or to quietly say "I don't like you", while four shakes is considered mocking/disrespectful. Most times this is done silently, but there can be verbal greetings to accompany this 'arm greeting' (or replace it entirely).
GREETINGS & COMMON SAYINGS.
"May Yamoshi guide you/her/him/your childling/sister/brother [insert other bond/relation here]." This is the Saiyan version of Bless you/May God bless you/Good morning or goodnight. There is a belief system/religion/spirituality amongst the Saiyans, and it is called Yamoshism. Depending on one's philosophical standing, Yamoshi is either a Patron Saint for the Saiyans or the equivalent of an Ascended Master/Saiyan who underwent a process similar to apotheosis. Either way, this is the best thing to hear if you are a Saiyan or carry Saiyan blood as it is usually impossible to utter it maliciously. It denotes a large amount of care and thoughtfulness.
"May Eelnana shine upon you/grace you/smile upon you/your troop, etc." It's the same as above except it involves the Goddess embedded in Yamoshism. Depending on one's philosophical slant, Eelnana either exists as a separate and real entity (hint: Maiz is a believer in this school of thought), or she's purely symbolic. To be told the Goddess of External Power, Inner Strength and Innovation/Change is smiling down upon you and/or guiding you is no small thing to say. This is explicitly saying you are trusted to know what you are doing, and who you must be.
"May our suns rise on you/never set on you." This is the non-religious/non-spiritual version of the above two sayings.
CHILDLINGS & PROPER CONDUCT.
Baby Saiyans are called childlings up until adolescent age (16). Other affectionate names are not translatable into Universal, or other dialects as easily, but the pronunciations are suspiciously similar to the following words: hellspawns, hellhounds, critters and runts. Childlings who stay on the planet are expected to learn hand-eye coordination as soon as they're able to talk. Childlings are who sent away, aka "infiltration babies" are typically abandoned/not talked about until they come back stronger. Until then, they are out of sight, out of mind. Childlings staying on the planet are treated nicer than their weaker counterparts (unless like Maiz, they have a visible birth defect that can impede their ability to fight and defend themselves). In this case, they are pushed harder to overcome their limitations and only then, are they treated with more grace than their counterparts. Outside of that, childlings are typically encouraged to interact with their environment and make connections. If it turns out they're the type of Saiyan who cannot bond easily, this is when they figure that out and plan "ahead." If they can bond, their lives will be a bit easier-- they'll have a second family to fall back on (Team Bardock as an example). However, just because a Saiyan can bond doesn't mean they will get close with everyone. (Ex. Karne was atypical in this regard; she was warm and bubbly on the surface and actively sought out friends, but she was picky about what bonds she wanted. She was insistent on becoming Bardock's first friend* even when he was being difficult. She genuinely loved and doted on Seripa/Fasha, who took over as the more "hot-headed personality" as they both grew up. She ruthlessly killed Artichoke after confirming her pregnancy with Maiz, who she actually wanted. She was emotionally available for her daughter and spoiled her rotten with love and affection. She loved her so much to the point of shoving her into a space pod to save her life during the Genocide). Maiz is the same way, and she's aware of it to varying levels**.
Most Saiyans were either trained to be independent or part of a collective. Individualism spiked post Yamoshi's generation, but especially under Frieza. Incidentally, King Cold didn't do much meddling; he found their ability to work as a collective amusing and intriguing. It was Frieza who took issue and thus, started nitpicking at them little by little until a schism was later created-- one that would give rise to the very thing he feared; a union of Saiyans. (This union and their old, ancient traditions that were taken underground would later give rise to the legend he tried to erase: the Super Saiyan).

Okay, now Im gonna need a scenario where y/n accidentally exposes her chest in front of Death and someone else (honestly, probably Draven or Karn, hell Strife too, cause those they give me a vibe that they won’t be able to look away lol) and Death is not happy, not at our dear y/n, but at the other person for looking and not being able to stop looking 😂
It wasn't as if you'd meant to give poor Draven a heart attack. Far from it, in fact.
In your defence, you hadn't expected that an arachnid native to the Dead Plains would scuttle right up behind you and climb up and under the hem of your shirt.
The almighty shriek that explodes out of you is loud enough to be heard all the way through the Eternal Throne's courtyard and out into the desert beyond.
And to think, mere moments ago, you, Death and Draven had all been lounging quite happily in the undercroft, discussing - with no particular degree of investment - the Chancellor's uselessness.
Seemingly out of nowhere, you all but fly from the barrel you'd been leaning on, almost startling Draven off his own barrel. Death's head snaps up from where he'd been glaring a hole into a nearby brazier and raises one, ebony brow when he sees you tearing at the hem of your flimsy shirt, twisting and writhing in the most perturbing ritual he's seen from you yet.
"Let me guess," he says drily, his eyes tracking your erratic dance around the undercroft, "This is the infamous game of 'Charades' you so enjoy playing?"
Far more concerned with your sudden and inexplicable shift in demeanour, Draven takes half a step forwards and regards you cautiously, calling, "You all right there, love?"
"GET IT OUT!" is your shrill reply.
'Expect the unexpected.' Death has always tried to abide by that motto. But for all his millennia of self-taught wisdom, the Horseman never could have expected your ensuing course of action.
Evidently having decided that your odd behaviour isn't quite odd enough, you suddenly grab the hem of your shirt and, without further preamble, you yank the article up and over your head in one, desperate tug before tossing it away from you as if it had caught fire.
All at once, Death's bemusement takes a steep nosedive into the realm of shock.
There you stand, one hand clutched over your racing heart and your chest heaving up and down with each, gasping breath, wearing nothing above your waist save for a cotton brassiere.
Death is quietly, dangerously still, staring at your discarded shirt and only vaguely registering the little brown blob that scuttles out of the sleeve and vanishes between a crack in wooden floorboards.
You've just disrobed.... in front of Draven.
Draven! The very undead who's been vying for your attention ever since you stepped through the archway and into the Eternal Throne's courtyard.
"Bloody hell!" the Blademaster breathes, allowing his jaw to tumble shamelessly open until it's in danger of detaching from his skull.
Death's neck creaks around to glare icily at the side of the undead's face. "Draven. If you don't avert your eyes in the next two seconds-!"
Before Death can stop you, you turn towards the undead and drop your hand back to your side, giving both of them a full-frontal view of your chest.
"Sorry about that," you sigh, blowing out an awkward chuckle, "There was a-"
You're interrupted by a sudden shout.
"DON'T turn this way!" Death blurts, throwing a large, skeletal hand up to block his mask's eye sockets. Draven, he notes, makes no such effort to avert his own gaze.
Growling low in his throat, the Horseman throws his free hand out and snags the Blademaster by the scuff of his cloak. Then, furious, he whirls about on his heel, dragging a gormless Draven along behind him.
"Put your shirt back on, for goodness sake," he calls back to you, ignoring the Blademaster's utterance of protest, "And you, lech, you and I are going topside to have a little chat about that hanging jaw of yours."

I have another AU on my hands! Yay! And no idea where to take it! Double-yay!
anyways. to sort my thoughts but also if anyone wants to chime in PLEASE do my brain is too empty recently.
Main duo are ATSV!Hobie and Comics!Hobie. They're funny okay, let them cause C H A O S. Comics!Miguel is there basically anytime they mess with the Spider Society because damn if he doesn't want to deck ATSV!Miguel for good.
Billy and Anya are gonna be there bc they, well, they're the leaders of the Web-Warriors. And I think ATSV!Hobie and Billy would have a blast with another British spider-man around.
Also Karn. Because I love Karn, okay? Let it be a little messed up and filled with anxiety and guilt and all-seeing bc Master Weaver. (also it/its pronouns). And Noir, because he's also a silly miserable little guy and he and Hobie are absolutely besties. At some point in the, uh, future, SV!Noir will also show up. I'm a 19 yo Noir-truther but imagine comics!Noir calling ISTV!Noir old,,,,,, they'd be bloody hilarious. Correction, will be, if once I get there.
Semi-regular appearances will be Lady Spider because I love her and her aesthetic and the Pavitrs bc they're so different from one another?? dunno if i'll have them meet but ATSV!Hobie sure knows both of em. Also also also I might let ATSV get into the plot as well? I'm ignoring spider-geddon bc no and also I can't find the comics, but ATSV??? Imagine 2099 (ATSV!Miguel) going like, "YOU WILL NOT SAVE YOUR FATHER AND DISRUPT CANON" and Hobie goes like oh fuck it, I'm not letting u do that and comic!Miguel zaps in to deck his alternate self bc TF U TRYING TO MAKE THAT KID LET HIS DAD DIE
Bonus Gwen learning that there's another Gwen Stacy out there who did get a good ending (idk if i'll write comics!Gwen on screen tho tbh). The ATSV and ITSV gang get introduced to some of the Web-Warriors. The Spider Society learns that what's really messing with those worlds isn't "cAnOn" being disrupted but the fact that their tech messes with the strands of the Web.
And then idk. i don't have any idea for a plot. i desperately need a plot. please helpp me i'm obsessed but my brain won't plot

So, Ajani and Nissa are healed or saved from phyresis. Like Venser did for him, Karn gave up his spark to cleanse the sparks of Ajani and Nissa. Though more so to Ajani as Nissa's spark began to crumble before being returned to her body. What this means for Nissa, who knows? Can we just let her evolve into an elemental already ala Elspeth into an angel and get her out of the story?
Tally by end of MOM story: Zhalfir and New Phyrexia switch places. New Phyrexia is now cut off from the Multiverse. And Zhalfir is now part of the Multiverse but on it's own rather than returned to Dominaria? Is that right?
Wrenn had an acorn that Teferi took before she burned out. Teferi planted Wrenn's acorn in the now returned Zhalfiir and, apparently, Wrenn will return once she's all grown up again.
Tamiyo still exists as magical story characters and lives with her family, Tyvar succeeded in killing the phyrexian sea serpent, phyrexians on Kaladesh shut down before they could kill Chandra's mother. The only thing not confirmed was whether Nahiri was still alive or was she really crushed to death. I guess that's something that might be addressed in Aftermath, but if she did survive somehow she's basically shut down like Ajani and Nissa were but under a pile of rubble.

mtg story spoilers ahead.
...in stark contrast to my last gigantic rant about MtG's story, the stories for March of the Machine were actually really good. by simple virtue of having more time and space to tell them, the consequences felt more real, the character's motivations and states were more explored, and the events that happened felt earned and were delivered well. characters actually died, and some lived - but not without cost. Nissa and Ajani get to live on, but at the cost of Karn's spark and Melira's life. Jace and Vraska's fates are unknown. Nahiri and Lukka are just plain dead (couldn't have happened to better people, tbh), and Tamiyo is...a...text-ghost?? which I presume is kind of like being dead - I can't imagine she still has her spark or her magic like that. it all feels very much like there was an *actual* gigantic battle, and it was costly to win, but there was a victory unquestionably.
the vignettes about the invasions of various planes were, on the whole, very good and really brought up the tension and fear of the Phyrexian invasions - making absolute monsters out of the invading zombie-robots that rightly inspire terror in everyone unfamiliar with them. the one about Zendikar was the Big Suck, but I'm gonna gloss over that one because it was mostly about Nahiri and honestly she gets what she deserves - not just narratively, but in quality of writing as well.
despite a really, *and I mean really* rough lead-in, I think March of the Machine is MtG finally getting the "epic, grand-scale battle" story right. Battle for Zendikar felt tropey and overhyping of the Gatewatch, taking out Ulamog and Kozilek *way* too early and frankly too easily. War of the Spark was--actually you know what let's just pretend War of the Spark never happened. but MoM felt good. The length of the story was just right, with plenty of ups and downs, rises and falls for the heroes, and - and this part is key - a lot of characters getting to matter. characters normally relegated to being B-list actors got to be major players and do things that were huge for them - Wrenn speaking with Realmbreaker and convincing it to save the planes (what a great moment, so obvious and yet I didn't think of it), Karn fighting his pacifism and guilt to kill a true evil that absolutely needed to die for the sake of everyone (yes!), Ral Zarek whopping Vraska in one blow (my boy), and all the legends of the planes fighting against the invasion in their own ways and in ways that fit the themes and tropes of those planes - not just throwing spells on a battlefield.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I really enjoyed reading this, and I hope we retain this level of quality for any future stories. and for god's sake please give the writers this much room to breathe for *everything* from here on - letting the writers have more chapters to write and more space to explore makes the writing *so* much better.

I studied something called Toxic Beta Masculinity for my Dissertation. I covered toxic fan culture, gatekeeping and incels, inspired by my experiences in the Star Wars Community. I could talk for hours about so much stuff, but I want to talk about Syril Karn.
I basically studied men like him, so seeing it playing out on my screen every week has been truly wonderful. TV and film only ever show the extreme vilified side of things when actually, it’s much more subtle and nuanced and harder to spot in real life.
(I’m gonna use some very broad statements here but I can clarify anything if people want. I want to make it very clear I am not defending anyone’s behaviour, this is just purely my take from an academic point of view)
What we’re seeing is something called Toxic Beta or Toxic Geek Masculinity. Masculinity is not bad. When you break down the core values of what makes a ‘successful man’ a lot of them are positive.
They’re things like “be able to provide for your loved ones”, “be physically fit and healthy”, “Protect your loves ones”. This translates to simply, have a partner, have a good job so you have money, have money so you can buy a house, etc. People who can do these things are categorised as Alpha males, those who cannot are Beta.
(Again, using very broad terms here)
Due to modern life, ‘Beta males’ are becoming a lot more common. A lot of us can’t afford our own place so we have to move in with our parents. It’s a lot harder to find any sort of job, and finding a good paying one is almost impossible. We’re stuck in bad jobs, living with our parents, making barely enough money to survive.
Just because you are in that situation, does not mean you are toxic. But it's very easy to fall into that trap.
Toxic Beta masculinity happens when these men realise that they do not possess the traditional masculine tropes. But instead of accepting that, they choose to vilify and blame those who do have them, or decide it’s someone else's fault. However, they’re not going to try and attack alpha males, because they are higher up than them. So, they instead project hate towards people who they think are below them (women, POC, Queer people) This is why the Star Wars Community has such problems with bigotry and it’s where gatekeeping comes from. (I’ll probably do a more in-depth post about this one day) Sometimes it’s malicious, but a lot of the time it is subconscious and they won’t realise they’re even doing it.
But, we’re not talking about that, we’re talking about Syril.
Going back to the living with parents and no money thing. Millennials and younger generations will very likely never own property or make investments. After our living expenses, we are left with very little money and very little time to indulge in our hobbies. So, we have the choice to try and save up, or, what mostly happens is, we invest our money and time into something that brings us joy or we deem important.
However, when we do this, we’re essentially deciding that our passion for something outweighs everything else and naturally we get defensive and over protective over the things we love. This passion can manifest itself in different ways, from a need to become an expert in it, to a need to lash out and be aggressive.
Syril is this situation now. His life has started to crumble and worst of all he can pinpoint the exact moment when it happened. He can see all the people who are to blame, Cassian for killing his crew, His mother for pushing him too much, Meero for not letting him get any further in the investigation. The fact that all of these people are minorities is subtle, but very important.
(He has nothing but respect for the older white men of authority he runs into, whether it be his old boss, or his new one, and always does as he’s told. But when it comes to people who are ’lesser’ than him, he feels that entitlement to take what he wants. Yes, he respects Meero as an officer, but not enough to respect her boundaries.)
We see he has figurines in his room, much like a lot of us do. He has become obsessed with justice and fighting for what is right in his own warped way and he has started to become fixated and defensive about it. His beta masculinity is starting to become toxic.
He is not an Incel, he is not a racist bigot or a raging misogynist. Yet. He has the capacity to be all these things, but that doesn't mean it’s set in stone. There are all the pieces for a truly great redemption story, or a truly powerful descent into villainhood. We’ll just have to see how the writers choose to go.
I hope Star Wars Fans watch Andor and see themselves in Syril, and view his descent as a warning. I am not ‘defending incels’ or playing devil's advocate, but there are a lot of stages before someone gets to that point that I think people need to be more aware of so that you can spot it in yourself, or in someone else and act before it’s too late. You can stop radicalization, but it is very hard to undo it.
Anyway, it’s truly wonderful seeing the thing you studied and nearly went insane over being portrayed on TV and being portrayed in such a brilliant way. People are not binary, there is no black and white, no one is 100% good or bad. Anyone is open to radicalization. Andor has captured this better than any piece of media I have ever seen and I am so grateful for its existence.

The tales of Ferrix Forest
@laz-laz-ace-pilot and me both saw this amazing Robin Hood art and were like - this looks so much like Melshian though? Then we had the same realization which is that a Cassian Robin Hood AU is too perfect :O Like this, maybe? catch us putting every character ever in this ...
--
Cassian and Melshi escaped the horrid dungeon of Castle Ferrix together, then went on to live a life as outlaws, no longer fit for society. The night they escaped, they swore to each other to take revenge on their captors for the death of their friend, Kino, and to not rest until they and their own would never have to live as serfs anymore - and they sealed the oath with a kiss.
They take from the rich and give to the poor, along with their merry band of outcasts - Bodhi, who used to collect taxes for the Sheriff until he was caught being lenient to a poor mother of ten; Chirrut and Baze, knights who left their liege lord when they grew disgusted with their habit of hanging 12 people every month; Cinta, whose family was slaughtered by the king’s men; Skeen who always used to be a petty thief and only joined because he knows where his next meal comes from; Taramyn, the former royal guard turned the fiercest of outlaws; and Bix, who was tortured by the Sheriff for information about the thieves in the forest and got rescued in a daring plan.
Luthen is their secret leader, a seemingly humble monk from the monastery who frequently passes out handouts to poor and oppressed farmers and serfs. Cassian and Melshi live in Ferrix Forrest, but come to the little town of Ferrix disguised as poor laborers to get food and messages from Brother Luthen or sometimes from Vel and Kleya, nuns at the monastery. Vel sometimes breaks out to meet up with her secret love, Cinta.
Cassian’s father Clem was hanged for hunting in the forest to provide them with food, since then he has a bitter grudge against the reigning Lord or Lady, whoever it might be. He pulls off the most daring capers and gives the people stories of hope, the likes they haven’t had since the legendary outlaw Saw Gerrera ruled over Ferrix Forest.
Lady Mon, the bishop Tay and others are secretly plotting revolution against the usurper Palpatine on the throne, as the rightful heir is stranded in the Holy Land, but - as little Brother Nemik (who used to be a monk, but had to escape to live in the forest after it was discovered that he translated the bible into english) reminds them - for them the matter of who sits on the throne, lawfully or not, is the wrong question to ask. Whoever it will be will charge the working men and women with taxes that take their hard earned earnings from them, while they do all the work on the fields and in the shops.
One day, Cassian and Melshi meet with Brother Luthen, who gives them a mission - a young lady will arrive at the nunnery, to be married to Sheriff Dedra’s protegé Syril Karn, who is loyal to the usurper. It would be an opportunity to kidnap her, and press the Sheriff out of the collected taxes of the whole county, maybe even make her set three villages of people free from serfdom.
But Luthen doesn’t want Cassian to do it - “It’s not the right work for you, the Lady needs a gentler touch. Get Cinta and the knights Baze and Chirrut to do it. Vel will be traveling to the harbor and accompanying the Lady and her chaperone, Lady Leia, who is secretly in league with us, back to Ferrix. Vel will be happy to see Cinta, too.”
There is another reason Luthen doesn’t want Cassian to take Lady Kerrianne for ransom, though. The thief might not be able to do what needs to be done, in the case that the Sheriff will not agree to save Karn’s fiancée, as soon as he realizes who their victim really is. The monk tasks the both of them with raiding an outpost where the fearsome giant Kay wields the law with merciless precision instead, to keep them out of the way. When Cassian slips away for an hour to visit his old friend Brasso the Smith at the forge, Luthen tells Melshi the truth, though. He is to keep Cassian away from their band of outlaws and the kidnapped girl at any cost - he even tells Melshi where to find Saw, deep in the forest. Melshi has never thought that he would have to divide his loyalties like this, between the man who saved him from a doomed life in shackles, who he loves more than anything; and the cause of liberation he swore a sacred oath to.

Also, Laz had the best take ever on how this could go on:
Also Luke is literally just a farmboy who blew up one of the most fortified castles and now everyone thinks he's the next Joan of Arc with supernatural powers from God or something
