i gotta start designing disabled OCs who use outdated transport wheelchairs just to spite everyone who says it’s bad rep and no one really uses them. my OC will need 5 carers to push them and wont be independent at all. bc that’s how i lived life. it won’t be empowering rep, it won’t make disabled people look badass and gifted, it will just be what it is

it’s not inherently progressive to make your disabled character super active and skilled. it’s not inherently offensive to portray disabled characters as lacking abilities & resources. some of us are not independent but we are still entire complex humans i promise

1) just because someone does not look ‘stereotypically’ queer it does not make them any less queer and their identity any less fucking valid

2) it’s so incredibly important to give people time and space to figure out their sexuality, with all the support they need, to not be pressured into coming out before they’re ready, to let people come out on THEIR terms

and you all fucking watched the show which made those points loud and clear and apparently none of it fucking went into your skulls because despite ALL OF THAT you STILL wouldn’t shut up, and forced kit connor into coming out

Conversely to my previous post, I have another little thing to discuss. Pregnancy, childbirth, child rearing, and even just references to biological children can be very troubling to people. Societally, women are not just expected but outright forced into having children and having children is almost universally considered an end-goal with no choice in the matter, especially when it comes to romance. To those who do find joy in the idea it can be difficult to understand just how triggering these things are to some, but I implore you to look at this with compassion and understanding. This community is about wish fulfillment and escapism; for an enormous number of people, these are the very things they want to escape from.

For this reason I’d like to kindly remind everyone at large to tag their pregnancy & child rearing content so that it can be avoided when necessary. I would also like to kindly remind everyone to check blog rules when sending asks.

It is deeply importantly for me to emphasize that the hurt people feel when lashing out against pregnancy & child content really, fundamentally, has absolutely nothing to do with any individual making that content. It is coming from a far larger & deeper wound caused by the patriarchal society we live in. It doesn’t matter why a woman might make such a choice; that decision is, at every single moment of every day, by family members and friends and life partners and total strangers and every kind of media, constantly undermined, questioned, and dismissed.

Nobody wants to come on here and feel that feeling, too. Do not EVER assume that someone is comfortable with it. Do not EVER come into someone’s askbox to discuss something unless you are ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CERTAIN that they enjoy such topics. Especially do not FUCKING EVER bitch and moan and complain about someone writing something that makes them happy when the thing you want goes against their rules. Out of all of the things that have happened in Kidnapped, I never thought that I would see Alan Breck Stewart engage in a bagpipe contest/fight with a rival or an adversary because fighting with sword would end in a bloodbath.
