annoying guy is being obnoxious about logic hangout time again but i definitely would have the majority on my side here if it came to it and this fills me with righteous vindication
#the context is i'm going to be giving a brief overview of basic definitions and stuff for logic-adjacent people#i thought it was for next week but i can do it this week since it's not til thursday#(which i told him this morning when i realized he'd been expecting it this week)#but then he started talking about how we probably don't even need to do it#since it'd be better to ''focus on making this a hardcore logic space''#like ''super useful for us'' and if other people want to join they can figure it out on their own#and like. sure. but 1) i think it would be more useful for me to spend one (1) session getting ppl up to speed#(bc they have different perspectives and backgrounds and that can be super helpful too)#and 2) i know for a fact that what he considers ''super useful'' is often not relevant to what i'm doing#and that he considers anything that isn't actively interesting to him ''pointless'' or ''nonsense''#INCLUDING things that me and other logic folks are literally working on#so i am strongly in favor of doing the intro talk and he can just suck it up and deal with not getting anything out of this one session#(also like he's off teaching this semester so he has plenty of time to work on his own stuff without focusing the seminar on it)#anyways#ollie talks#i should make a tag for this guy#davidtransgressions#<- that's how i've been referring to all my complaints in my head so that's what we're going with
