i’m not familiar enough with you or your ocs to make assumptions yet so i’ve got a few questions :) from the fic writer asks: 8, 16, 21 from the non-apprentice asks: 4, 7, 18, 19 (for any/all of your ocs) sorry if this is too much or if you’ve already answered these i’m a relatively new follower and i just love your characters (〃^ω^) i can’t wait to get to know them all!

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

His shoulders relaxed, and he cocked an eyebrow, confidence returned. “Well, of course. I can’t just let talent like yours go undiscovered. It’d be a sin.”

“I’d hardly call myself ‘undiscovered.’” Alec crossed her arms over her chest, giving him a pointed look.

He laughed, stretching his arms out to gesture around them. “To the world of theater, dear Alec! You may have the musical world wrapped around your little finger, but you are just a little starlet to the stage.”

Alec pouted, shoving her finger in his chest just enough to make him step back. “Just you wait— I’m going to take over the stage! Starting with this play, and you.”

“We’ll see, won’t we?” He turned with a grin towards the front door. “Now, can I walk you home, out the front door, or do you want to fly out the balcony window into the night like a bat?”

Tapping her chin, she followed after him, having to step quickly to match his long stride. “Having you walk me home sounds good; I think my wings need some rest.”

He stopped, glancing back at her, eyebrows furrowed. “You don’t actually have wings, do you?”

“Julian!”

Probably longer than a snippet, and I am incapable of writing a paragraph of just straight dialogue, but I really liked this interaction from their first meeting! I feel like it sets the tone for Alec and Julian’s relationship and dynamic.

21. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

I usually finish writing, read it through once, upload it, and then read it through again when it’s on Tumblr. And the reason for this is because when it’s in the condensed/tight formatting of Tumblr (especially on mobile) it’s easier for me to catch things I would have missed while writing in Word (like using the same/similar words twice in one paragraph, or even misspellings).

Non-Apprentice Asks

4. Where were they during the plague in Vesuvia?

Miriam was at the palace, by this point she officially worked at the palace as their sommelier and also as Nadia’s secondhand (kind of like how Portia is now). She was asked to come back home to her family’s vineyard near Venterre but refused.

Camia and Leon left Vesuvia early on, not wanting to risk the plague. They traveled with some other band members before meeting back up with Jamil, who had tried to convince Alec to come with him, and the three of them traveled for the few months before learning about Alec’s death (which you can read here if you want some angst)

7. If you have an apprentice character, do they know each other? If you don’t have an apprentice character, would your OC be someone who knows/knew the general MC character or not (whether or not they would feature in the routes)?

Jamil, Camia, and Leon all know Alec, as they were the main three of the band that she traveled with before settling down in Vesuvia. The shop was Camia’s, she gave it to Alec when she decided to stay. Alec is close to all three of them, but maybe a smidge closer to Jamil (in most routes, I have it planned that she would remember him first of the three once her memories come back)

Miriam and Alec met once, around the time of Lucio and Nadia’s wedding, and I wrote about that meeting here! It is unlikely that either of them remember each other in present day, even after Alec gets her memories back, but they would still get along (especially in Nadia and Portia’s routes, where Alec is at the palace a lot)

18. Do they have any hobbies?

Leon: Aside from playing instruments like the rest of the band, Leon also likes pottery and gardening! Though, his plants are outdoor ones, the dozens of plants that sit inside Camia’s hut in the Catclaw Desert are all hers.

19. Who’s someone that they just can’t stand? (One of the Main 6, another OC, etc.)

Miriam: There’s an extensive list of royals that she just hates, but the courtiers are on the top of that list. She had to work too closely with them while Nadia was asleep and does not like remembering it. She can’t stand Valerius for the things he did during that time, but in most routes they’re able to iron or bang that stuff out.

Jamil: He’s generally pretty easy going, but his parents are the only people he genuinely cannot stand. Easiest way to make him uncomfortable is to drag him back to Prakra and sit him next to them. (If there was ever a reason he might not go to Nadia and Alec’s wedding it would be because his parents would be there and the internal war he would be fighting would be horrid.)

Camia: She can’t stand Lucio. She’ll be civil about it, and she definitely took advantage of his relationship with Jamil by attending the Masquerade every year, but she just can’t stand him one-on-one. She would never say that to Alec in his route, and for the sake of her happiness, would learn to stand him. Maybe he’ll grow on her. Like a tumor.

Leon: If he can’t stand someone, you’ll know. Does not cut corners. There’s a small handful of cities that have banned him from entering due to past altercations he’s had with the sovereign rulers there. Not a lot, but you know, the fact that there are any is concerning. Generally, anyone who has anything bad to say about his friends is on his shit list. He could care less about people who don’t like him, but the minute they turn on his friends, his family, all niceties are out the window.
