Dozens of women were arrested from their homes and refugee centers, taken to Yarmouk Stadium in Gaza, their hijabs were removed from their heads, blindfolded, and they were searched. Many of them were subjected to sexual harassment, beatings and abuse. [@/mhdksafa on X. 12/28/23.]
I won't forgive ANYONE who calls themselves a feminist -for remaining silent about this genocide -you ARE complicit. During any and all instances of institutionalized and systematic violence, oppression, and abuse being executed by all imperial and colonial forces around the world -for you to say nothing -shame on ALL of you for cherry picking your 'issues.'

In case you haven't heard yet: There are officially no Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh also known as the Republic of Artsakh, the survivors of the "Anti-terrorist offensive" attack in September of this year (2023), all the skirmishes since 2020, that killed hundreds of Armenians, have been driven out by Azerbaijan. Armenia has had to decide the fight to return them is a lost cause and would only result in more Armenian death.
The Armenian Genocide in that region is complete. Over a thousand years of Armenian history in that area is done. The Republic of Artsakh will be officially dissolved starting January 1st 2024, this was officially signed by Samvel Shahramanyan. But by the 1st of October, so for a month now, it was considered an empty Republic anyway.
Please consider giving to the Armenia Fund who have pivoted to helping the Artsakh refugees as much as possible.

this post sucks so bad massachusetts takes its name from the indigenous massachusett people who were genocided and whose land was stolen and that would be obvious if you would think for a single second and look up the etymology before posting. mocking a native language that was eradicated for centuries and is only now beginning to be revived is not fucking funny it is ignorant and racist and cruel

you motherfuckers have no concept of what "land back" or "decolonize" even mean. you're too busy demonizing entire groups of people, terrified, shitting yourselves, that they'll do even half of the horrors to you that you've done to them for decades or centuries. this shit comes off as hella racist for real. you hate arabs so much. you hate first nations people so much. you hate black people so much. even if you sympathize with them, you can't fucking bear the idea of them gaining freedom, independence, autonomy, safety, because you're so, so scared they'll hurt you back and cause chaos in the streets. these same people who just want to rebuild. who just want to go home. who just want to see their families again. who just want food. who just want medical care. who just want dry, warm shelter. you're so focused on the ideas of colonization, of "us vs. them", of one people displacing the other for a state to exist, that you cannot comprehend coexistence, and your only idea of peace is if an entire group of people were just gone and dead.
grow the fuck up. for the love of GOD, grow the fuck up.

There is no version of a conflict between two historically oppressed peoples who both claim one piece of land as their ancestral homeland that isn’t nuanced & complex. The only simple “solution” is genocide.
Israel-Palestine is complicated. Anyone telling you differently is selling you genocide.

“Yeah, the cops shouldn’t have killed him, but I heard he tried to use a fake $20 bill.”
“Prison conditions are terrible, but don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time”
“Systemic racism isn’t the problem. Just look at the black on black crime statistics.”
“If she doesn’t want to be misgendered or hatecrimed, she should really work on passing better”
“Those rednecks deserve to be poor if they keep voting for republicans.”
“If gay people want to be accepted, they need to stop being so loud about it. It’s annoying”
“Their culture just doesn’t value education as much.”
“If he didn’t do anything wrong, why was he running from the police?”
“American companies use sweatshops and child labor in other countries, because those countries don’t have good enough labor laws”
“I don’t give homeless people money, they’re probably just going to spend it on drugs.”
“What was she wearing? What was she doing out alone at night? Why didn’t she fight back?”
“The Natives traded away their land for beads and trinkets”
“We are here to discuss the 15,000+ Palestinian civilians killed by Israeli carpet bombing. First things first, do you condemn Hamas?”
“Bombing hospitals is a war crime, but Hamas is using hospitals and schools to hide military personnel”
“A humanitarian cease fire would favor Hamas.”
I could go on and on. Stop blaming the oppressed for their oppression!

Encouraging everyone to continue making noise for Gaza, even after today's shutdown is over.
Spread the word, contact representatives, protest, donate to fundraisers/charities, keep the momentum going!
Even just a click can help: https://arab.org/click-to-help/
If you've ever made, or even profited off of, stories/characters revolving around freedom and fighting oppression, you have a responsibility to practice what you preach and not remain silent.

Btw for people who don’t use Twitter, here’s Charlie’s tweet on Palestine, if you want to go and look at the charities in the thread, here’s the link to the original tweet
For those confused as to why it’s not posted on his Main, he got locked out and doesn’t have the 2FA to get back in right now.

honestly one of the things that's been wild for me to learn lately is that israel was responsible for enforcing the idea that the holocaust was an unparalleled genocide that stands apart from everything else that's happened in the course of human history. even before i understood well enough how deeply interconnected all genocides are, when i was a kid, i really fucking hated it. it felt so wrong to me for the holocaust to be The Genocide of human history. it felt disrespectful to other groups who had gone through genocide and it felt like weirdly dehumanizing and tokenizing to us. i didn't want to think of jews as The Group Who Went Through A Genocide, i wanted to see us how i was familiar with in our culture our holidays our art our singing our prayers. that's how i wanted other people to see us too! not that i was ashamed of what we had gone through but i just didn't want people's perception of us to just be that we were victims and i didn't want other peoples victimhood denied to them through that either. but yeah kind of wild to learn that israel and zionist rhetoric seems fairly responsible for this pet peeve of mine from childhood before i even really had a greater consciousness of solidarity or anything.

You know, if you watched Star Wars and claim to be a fan of it, but your takeaway of it is "this specific small group of people deserves to be murdered down to the last child" then I'm fairly certain the only thing you have ever enjoyed about Star Wars is the pew pew aesthetics of it because the overarching message seems to have completely blown right over your head. I can't imagine watching Star Wars, with its very very obvious symbolism and messages, and then coming onto someone else's post to advocate for the genocide of a minority cultural group. I'd be embarrassed. I'm embarrassed FOR YOU.

really do not think people understand the extent to which palestinian sites/landmarks (especially muslim ones) were destroyed, beginning in 1948 until now, even in cities. the oldest extant mosque in jaffa (al-bahr mosque) was built in 1675, even though islam came there in the 7th century
