I am trying to think very hard about the mystery in Only Murders in the Building, but unfortunately I ship Theobel and this episode confirms they've been hanging out a lot and she's learning ASL to properly talk to him and that is Doing Things to me

37“You seem somewhat familiar. Have I threatened you before?” or 109 "Such big evil in such a little thing.” for Mabill
Given the souce material for the first quote, have a Pirate!AU!
-INCENTIVE
Mabel often found herself getting in more trouble than her family would like. In particular her twin brother often admonished her behaviour since usually he ended up getting pulled into her shenanigans and involved in some way or another.
Which is why it was a nice change of pace when trouble found her instead of the other way around for once.
The teenager was overseeing the small trinket shop her uncle ran whilst he attended this morning’s hanging in the town square. Her brother had also popped out to go grab groceries which left her alone. In a shop. That was empty.
This was so boring.
Nobody came and shopped when a hanging was going on! What was the point of even being open? She groaned, draping herself over the counter as she pressed her face against the cool solid wood. Ah, that felt nice, especially with the morning sun filtering through the window and across her face.
The brunette was just on the cusp of falling asleep when the bell above the door rang out, stirring her awake. The abrupt slam of the door that followed finished the job by yanking her the rest of the way to wakefulness.
‘Huh, what? I’m awake, I’m awake!’ She straightened up to attention, for a moment thinking it was her uncle. But when she looked in the direction of the door, she found herself staring at a ruggedly handsome young man dressed in dirty attire.
‘Heyyyy there,’ she gushed, offering a wide smile as she leaned over the counter. ‘You seem familiar.’
He tensed.
‘Oh, right.’ She slapped herself gently on the head. ‘That must be because you’ve been running through my dreams all night.’ Wink.
The stranger gave her a flat look. But before he could respond, the sudden sound of raised voices came from outside and he turned on his heel with panic. She blinked as he began shoving one of the shelves of stock in front of the door.
‘Hey, don’t do that! If you break stuff, you gotta pay for it or else Grunkle Stan will be mad!’
‘Shut up,’ he grunted.
She frowned. She’d said it as a pick up line earlier, but he really did seem like somebody she’d seen before.
‘Oi, where’s the exit in this place?’ he snapped, shooting her a desperate look.
Mabel was still regarding him curiously when somebody knocked on the door.
‘Hello? Is anybody in there?’
The stranger looked towards the door with alarm, and it was then Mabel caught the flash of gold around his neck as the golden chain sporting a triangular pendant was knocked about. Her eyes widened.
‘Ohmygod, you’re that pirate they caught!’ she cried, recognising his face from the posters. It was his hanging Stan had gone to see! ‘Bill Ciph- ummhphph!’ She released a muffled yell as he leapt over the counter in a second and slammed a hand over her mouth. Her back collided against the wall behind her as he glared down, and she heard further commotion from outside as what she assumed were the authorities tried the door only to find it blocked.
‘Open the door this instant or we will be forced to knock it down!!’
Bill cast the door a side glance, and Mabel took the opportunity to distract him. His face immediately cringed as he withdrew his hand. ‘Did you just lick me?’
‘Yeah.’
He scowled. ‘Show me where the secret entrance to the basement is. I know all the shops on this street have one and that they lead to the sewers.’
‘Huh? How do you know that?’
‘Not important.’
‘I mean, it kinda is. Have you been stalking us?’ She thought he only entered town three days ago before being swiftly captured.
He frowned, eyebrows drawing together. ‘...You seem somewhat familiar. Have I threatened you before?’
‘Uh, I think I’d remember if I’d met you before,’ she replied, meaning that in several different ways.
A loud thud suddenly came from the door as they began to ram it from the other side. A second later she found a knife in her face as the pirate hissed at her.
‘Show me. Now!’
‘...Jeez, fine.’ She stepped around him and led the guy to the back room. Wasn’t like she had much choice when she was being threatened. The authorities would definitely believe her if she said so anyways what with her being a girl and all. She used a switch to shove the fake fireplace aside, revealing a small set of steps behind. ‘There.’
He looked from the tunnel and then back to her, gaze scrutinising. ‘Seriously, where have we met before?’
‘Hmm, is this your attempt at a pick up line? You are attractuve, but the knife in the face kinda ruined the vibe.’
He scowled.
‘Okay, okay, I might still be interested.’ A pause. ‘Except no, Dipper and Grunkle Stan would throw a fit if I swanned off with a pirate.’
His eyes widened. ‘Your brother is Dipper Pines.’ A second passed. ‘Tch, of course, you both have the same stupid look in your eyes.’
‘Yeah, you know him?’
His face suddenly darkened like thunder and it was the first time she found him genuinely threatening and fearsome. ‘That little brat stole my treasure from me! Where is he? Is he in this town!? He took a step closer, towering over her.
‘Huh? What? No way, you’re definitely lying. Dipper wouldn’t do that, he’s boring as hell.’
‘Your brother lied and cheated from me,’ Bill hissed, eyes alight with malice.
‘Nuh uh.’ Dipper fraternising with pirates? That was ridiculous! When would he even have the time? He’d just recently got back from a months expedition to deliver some important documents for his job!
…A job he was very vague about.
A job where she’d never even met his boss or colleagues.
A job that had him away for long periods of time at the most random moments.
…..
Well damn, what a liar.
As the realisation slowly dawned on her face, he snorted. ‘Looks like I’m not the only one he lied to.’
‘No way…’ she muttered, but this time there was no energy behind her words.
‘What’s the matter? You thought he told you everything?’
‘Of course I did!’ she yelled, catching him off guard with her sudden eruption of emotion. ‘I tell him every little thing! Why wouldn’t he tell me? Does he not trust me!?’
He blinked. ‘You’re that close, hm?’
‘I thought we were!’
‘I see.’ He paused, and a calculating look came into his eye as the door in the shop began to be broken down, men tumbling in. ‘Well then, maybe if I kidnap you he’ll have an incentive to return what's precious to me, as well.’
‘Yeah!’ she cried, before his words registered a second later. ‘Wait, huh?’
‘Alley-oop.’ He grabbed her around the waist and tossed her over his shoulder with ease, vanishing down the stairs as the fireplace closed behind them.
Huh, seems like the trouble she'd gotten in this time was a lot more serious than usual.
Oh dear.
