help why did my own tags on that post abt "don't exclude vets from the revolution bc we need all the guys that the state taught how to use guns" make me actually understand fullmetal alchemist better than i ever have before

#mp #fmab #i've always struggled w the fact that like 90% of the characters in that show were active participants in genocide #and yeah i got the point that ppl who do atrocious things are still people who can be funny and kind and good #and i also understood that it's answering the question of “how do ppl who've committed atrocities move forward?”#but i guess i finally get it now. that scar was right and was justified in seeking revenge #but that justification doesn't help improve things for his people going forward #u have to choose i guess. do you make the ppl who hurt your people suffer? or do you try and make things better for your people?#and it's unfair that we can't do both. but we really can't do both.
