got a contacts prescription and was *so excited* to finally be able to see without getting constant migraines (the space between my eyeball and the glasses lens really fucks up my brain and causes heinous eye strain)

only to discover that contacts in my prescription don't actually exist for any price that's even remotely affordable for me

#i don't even have that strong of a prescription #it's just that one eyeball is -1.75 and one eyeball is +1.75 #and apparently lenses for farsightedness just like don't exist outside of a handful of brands #and if i got those brands it would be well over 1k usd every year because i don't have insurance #the fact that i paid 250 to get this contacts prescription in the first place because my eye doctor insisted it would be helpful #and they didn't tell me until after the appointment that my insurance wouldn't cover it #genuinely trying not to cry rn #i'm usually so good at dealing with the health grief #but i've had a migraine since last tuesday and the fact that something that might have fixed it is out of reach just because i have no money #i was also really hoping to get colored contacts for cosplay so that i don't gotta fuck my makeup up with glasses #but those don't exist for farsightedness either
