5. How affectionate are they? What are their top love languages?
Faie vacillates wildly between very affectionate (verging on clingy) and stone-cold. It's the trauma and fear of rejection or abandonment. When he's in the mood, his love languages are acts of service and physical touch. He just wants to be held and have nice things done for him. He wants to be taken care of and to take care in turn.
9. What was their first kiss like?
Bloody. Rough. Desperate. He and Quinlan had a bit of a close call on the battlefield and then afterward they kind of said fuck it. Faie ripped his helmet off and they kind of crashed together. He didn't even get the helmet all the way off, it fell off when Quinlan tried to push his hands through Faie's hair.
18. How has their hair changed over time? What is their favorite hairstyle?
Faie starts growing his hair out in the first month of the war. It's a little act of freedom or rebellion, to do something non-regulation and non-Priest-approved with his appearance. He let it grow kind of haphazardly until it got long enough to tie up, then trimmed the split ends. He kept doing that for the rest of the war, keeping it long enough for a short ponytail, which is his favorite style.
There's always a vod (or a Quinlan) who's in the mood to fidget with someone's hair, so sometimes he ends up with it braided. He's not too picky about who touches his hair, surprisingly. He knows he can take pretty much anyone on the ship in a fight, so he's not worried about being attacked. The fact that having his hair braided is soothing has nothing to do with this. At all.

“Faie.” Something gentle in the way his name is said makes him start. Reality fuzzes its way back to in front of his face. Shiny’s shirt is still taut and gathered in his fists, his eyes are round and looking at Faie in concern.
Nowhere to Run Nowhere to Hide Sequel:
Fox blinks dully, and slips his hand into Wolffe. He’s totally compliant as Wolffe follows Healer Che to small bedroom. Wolffe helps Fox into the bed, and he just lays there as Wolffe arranges the blankets comfortably around him.
Long coming Ni Su’cuyi Nu Kyr’adyc Final Chapter (Fives POV):
He poked a little deeper at Echo, trying to figure if he should pack extra painkillers today. Echo brushed him off with a bit of irritation. Fives packed the painkillers.
They finished at the same time as usual. Fives grabbed the crutch and tossed it to Echo while Echo tossed his cane over so Fives could put it away. Then they traded Fives’ lunch for Echo’s stuff.
Shadow Twins WIP:
Silently, everyone lines up in standard order to appease Bric’s wrath. As far as trainers go he isn’t the worst… but he is far from the best, and is known to be physical in his reprimands. No matter how angry they are with each other, they will never leave a brother to a trainer’s mercy.

Hi Terra! Sorry this is a bit late, life has been, well, life. Anyway, here's my boy Hemlock.
📙 What kind of subjects (of conversation, of discussion, in school or whatever) does your OC find interesting or engaging or that they can talk for hours about? What kind of stuff do they just find fun?
So Hemlock is very serious, but he's also a huge dork. This is a carefully guarded secret that nobody knows except half the Guard. They pretend they don't, though. Hemlock has all the STEM potential that I never had. He's a trauma surgeon by training, and he's really into medical stuff in general. You'd think doing the job he does would kind of ruin the subject for him, but it doesn't! He spends his off hours combing the holonet for cool new papers and surgical techniques about trauma surgery but also just whatever catches his eye. This is definitely useful for work, but he also just likes it. He likes to memorize little facts and statistics so he can quote them later. It's his love language.
He also really likes math and, more specifically, statistics. Sorting through data is very relaxing for him and often, numbers have lower stakes than patients. It's nice to have something to do where he gets a tangible result AND no one dies in the process.
He’s also a fan of ‘debates.’ Yes, Hemlock is one of those assholes that likes to argue. He’s not ashamed.
📀 How easy is it to shock your OC? To confuse them? To lie to them, to manipulate them? How are they with feelings of trust? Can your OC be trusted?
Hemlock may be a bitter bastard, but he trusts vode easily and, once he trusts, he trusts for life. Betrayals shock him, in part because he’s very committed to the people and causes he loves, and he can’t imagine ever doing something like that. The news of Slick disturbed him.
In his natural state, Hemlock’s not too hard to lie to. He’s not like Thire or Stone, who have built-in bullshit detectors, or like Fox, who just assumes everything is a lie and/or a trick. He’s just kind of vibing. HOWEVER Holly is extremely susceptible to lies and deceit of all forms, so Hemlock’s learned to sharpen up. It’s decently hard to sneak things past him because he’s usually paying pretty close attention.
Hemlock would like to think he’s seen it all (and he’s right, it’s pretty hard to shock him), but sometimes things happen that just shake him in a way he can’t describe. A brother takes his hand and his dying breath and Hemlock’s cold for the rest of the day. A battalion is wiped out and he can’t sleep. He sees a natborn child his own (chronological) age and something in him is unsettled.
🍐 What is your OC’s mentality? Are they overall positive? Negative? A bit of both? Describe their thought patterns and reasoning behind their choice making!
Hemlock’s a bitter bastard. It’s not even the trauma, he’s just like that. Trauma just put a sharper edge on it lmfao. He doesn’t really like people and he doesn’t get lonely, so he doesn’t seek out company. He’d rather be reading or working out.
He tries to be ready for the worst. It works a little too well. By the end, it’s hard for him to see the bright parts of life. He’s always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
A lot of Hemlock’s personality is shaped by grief. His anger is grief. His sadness is grief. His bitterness is grief. He’s lost a lot and he’s seen others lose more, so he’s gotten to a point where he’s always ready to lose the next person he loves. He tries to hold people at a distance, but it just makes him feel more alone. It’s a vicious thing, and he feels empty inside.
🎀 Do they wear a specific accessory with a special meaning behind it? What is their usual fashion sense like? What do they wear when they want to be comfortable and what do they wear when they’re going to a fancy party? Or do they just not care?
Hemlock doesn’t get much chance to exercise his fashion creativity in his day-to-day life, but he does have a few things he likes. He has some really pretty black tattoos that scroll up his arms in kind of a swoopy sharp way (I’m thinking of a specific symbol for balance that I wear around my neck. I’ll rb with a picture for general vibes). He also wears black stud earrings. They’re shiny and hands-down the fanciest thing he owns. A ~lady friend~ gave them to him on a night out. There is a betting pool around whether or not they still meet up and also how much the earrings are worth (guesses range from 2-2million credits, with a bonus category called ‘stolen’).
When he goes out, he just wears his greys. I would say he doesn’t have anything else, but I hc that the Guard is one of the few battalions that actually accumulates Stuff because they’re landbound (this comes up in a fic or two of mine I think). Slowly, illegally, they acquire what might generously be called a communal wardrobe. Hemlock is partial to greys and light blues. He likes clothes he can move in, but he’s also proud of his physique, so they’ve got to be somewhat fitting. Definitely a wearer of white Air Forces.

Drift doesn’t make a sound when General Tarn pins him to the wall, doesn’t cry out when the Togrutan’s sharp claws pierce his face. He scrabbles at the massive wrist, desperate to find some sort of catch or give in the lightblade mechanism mounted to Tarn’s forearm.
Then the General starts to speak, and his voice is a deep timbre of devastation. It hooks behind Drift’s ribs and pulls, slowing his heart and curling through his mind.
His fingers freeze along with the rest of him.
“Do I know you, clone?” Tarn muses. Drift shakes his head frantically, tries to say no, but the words can’t leave his throat.
That dark voice holds a hint of amusement. “I do,” Tarn says, “don’t I, Deadlock?”
Part of @kkrazy256 and my Transformers MTMTE AU - Separatist General Tarn confronts Corrie Guard ARC trooper Drift. Unbeknownst to Drift, he’s been an unwilling part of Sidious’s Sith experiments, including a precursor to the Purge Troopers called Deadlock squad whose chips are activated early in order to carry out Sidious’s will. Big thanks to Terra for letting me use her blorbos!

Too lazy to go grab my phone, so I looked at the last song I listened to on Spotify, which turns out to be Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) and I assign it Faielan vibes (I assign most things Faielan vibes).
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
Dragging my brain out of OC hell to avoid the Penchant and Faie answer. Rex and Cody! I love them so much they deserve the world. And just because I have to acknowledge other Star Wars content, I also love Jynn and Cassian's relationship (I know it's debatebly pre-relationship but shh), Han and Chewie's relationship, and Rey and Finn's relationship. I have so much love in my heart for friends.
W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.
FUCKING FLOWER/COFFEE SHOP AU. I don't know why, it just bores me to the point of anger. There's nothing wrong with it! I have read AUs like this that were objectively good! I understand that other people love them! I just don't, for no particular reason.
Also pregnancy, but that's more of a personal squick thing and if I really like the characters, it doesn't bother me (for instance, I have soft ideas for Penchant and Sarah).

3. How would they fare in a zombie apocalypse?
For the most part, I think Amber would survive the zombies. He knows how use a gun and other weapons, can go a while without food, and is in good physical condition; any weak points he has, well, he'd just make sure he's working with someone so he can throw them to the zombies instead so he can get away.
I think his downfall would be the other survivors. It's not as easy to cover your flaws and weaknesses with desperate survivors. Additionally, he has a need to be seen as the best in everything, so if he's working with someone who shows him kindness and empathy, it'd be a toss-up between throwing them to the horde or throwing himself so he can be remembered positively.
30. What's their political stance?
Amber...doesn't really care about the politics behind the Clone Wars. He'd play along with whichever side advantages him the most. Since he's a soldier in the GAR, he mostly acts the typical "For the Republic!" attitude. If, for some reason, he came in contact with a Separatist, he'd play along with their side.
50. Do they have any insecurities?
With how much he thinks the world of himself, it's hard for people to see if he has any. Those who have been around him the longest know that it was originally just a mask he played up for his brothers and the Kaminoans. Over time, and the more Amber played his role, the more he believed it to be true. If Amber isn't considered to be the best at something, he cannot deal with it and will play absolutely dirty to be seen as the best.

20. In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?
Ho boy. Penchant’s used to having to be pretty self-sufficient, so he’s got decent self-esteem. He doesn’t make a habit of tearing himself down by comparing himself to other people. Most of the time, when he compares himself to others, he’s looking for ways to improve. What could he do better? How could he prevent something bad from happening next time? He’s looking at others in order to improve himself.
Most of the time.

Hi Terra!
H: How would you describe your writing style?
(Already answered this, so I'm just going to copy and paste)
Hmmmmm how dare you ask me to perceive myself (/j). I'm going to answer this for my fanfic (and fiction at large tbh) and then again for my nonfiction, "serious" work, because they're different.
My fanfiction style is succinct, I think. I don’t linger on stuff for a long time, hence why my fics are usually short. I know I can be a bit longwinded, but I think plotwise I keep it short. I use a lot of descriptor words.
My nonfiction style has been described as “biting,” “blunt,” and being heavy on good description and explanation. My ability to explain complex topics in understandable ways is my pride and joy and I’m always working on it.
L: Which of your fanfics was the most emotionally challenging to write?
I’m going to list a few because they were all hard to write in different ways.
Lighthopping is one of the only fics I’ve ever cried while writing, but that’s just because it was sad, not because it was particularly personal.
‘Cause You Did It (tw sexual assualt for the fic) was very, very hard to write because it was extremely personal. It was cathartic, though. DISCLAIMER: not an accurate retelling of events. though I projected my feelings and some of my situation onto the characters, the story does not represent real events or real people. Fuck off <3
Over This By Now is one of several fics that I’ve deliberately either triggered flashbacks or engaged with triggering material on purpose to write. I wouldn’t recommend doing this without knowing yourself, though. I’m in the long-term phase of my recovery and have a lot of good coping mechanisms, and my reactions are pretty mild now. And I have a great support system! Some of what Fox says to Thire in this fic is stuff my mom said to me after I triggered myself trying to write the fic aldkfjlkfjslkjf.
X: How would you categorize your fanfic reading? Are you a voracious reader? Do you carefully pick and choose? Something in between?

Definitely voracious. If it looks even remotely okay, it’s going in my brain. This is a curse because sometimes I cannot get the things back out of my brain when it turns out they’re bad. I have regrets. I will continue the patterns of behavior that led to these regrets.

Oof. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I NEVER have any idea what’ll be big on AO3. Sometimes, as with fics like Lighthopping and OCTYFMS, I was satisfied and knew the fic would be a hit before posting. Other times, I post (what I think is) shit and it does great!! I don’t know!!
Sometimes, I’ll deliberately write things for the interaction boost if I’m bored alkdjlfkhj (*cough* Side Effects May Vary *cough*)
