The concern on Emma's face was palpable. Lysithea was heavily relied on in battle, and more often than not the chosen offensive magic user for the Professor's missions. On top of that, the other was always delving into some research or other. Emma had remembered peeking into the younger woman's notes once, blown away by the complexity of the work and her mind numbing quickly by concepts that were way over her head. More than once the former songstress thought about asking if Lysithea needed a break... though always gave up on asking because she was certain she'd be shot down immediately.

But today Emma had come to the library looking for something to do some light reading, only to find the younger woman passed out over a book. She didn't want to startle the other woman by waking her up, but the paleness of her face didn't sit right with Emma. Carefully, she nudged Lysithea's shoulder until her eyes peeked open.

"T-This is normal? But this really isn't healthy..." She hoped she didn't come across as demeaning, Emma had only the utmost concern and respect for the other. "Maybe eating something first would help. When was the last time you ate a proper meal?"

I did it, I thought of a ridiculous little oc question to grace into a ridiculous poll. Don't ask for the context, it doesn't exist. "I thought it'd be funny" is the only reason.

Call me paranoid, but I cannot stop thinking about how Imogen's line of thought with the gem has progressed something like:

"I need to look a little more at this gem, I just need to make sure its not going to hurt me and my friends, just need to check." to

"This is definitely bad business, its promising things that are too good to be true- unless? Unless? What if it can mutate things from good to bad" to

"If it was going to corrupt one of us, it might be too late already, I might as well keep holding onto it, its probably better if I hold onto it."

Even with Imogen being careful, recognizing her doubts and instincts about this gem being dangerous and suspicious: There is a very specific blend of Imogen's anxiety, caution, and self sacrificial tendencies that feels like its being twisted to give the gem exactly what it wants- to be kept close, to be used, to be relied on.

And it is fucking terrifying.
