My post about Marvel having less teen sidekicks then DC was today followed up by me googling Dick Grayson and Bucky Barnes on wikipedia, and comparing ages. Dick Grayson was 8! Bucky Barnes was 16! Maybe I'm just dumb, but isn't one of those ages far worse!? Again, it's a miracle nobody ever child protective services on batman for having an 8 year old bot fight killers with guns and knives and more.

At least Bucky was 16, so he counts as an older teen. Was Robin even a teen, if he wasn't ten!? I.. I'm just going to quietly ignore this now that I know it. Because that's messed up. Add that to the list of reasons not to like batman, I guess.

Question: Does anyone ship Ruth and Max / accept them as a ship? I don’t necessarily ship them but I have seen ZERO CONTENT for them at all. Like I think I’ve seen them shipped with anyone BUT eachother.

Because I feel like there are a couple moments in NPMD that if Max had a redemption arc, point to Ruthwell being the funniest situationship ever (ei: them both being very blatantly horny and the only two in the show to talk about watching porn, the fact that he specifically calls out the skele’un as being ‘really special’ and Ruth BLUSHING over it, Max’s weird petting of her underwear after he kills her and puts it over her head?? This is probably super niche but fuck it, this is gonna be a long one so buckle up lmao. Have y’all ever had someone in your life claim that they are something that you are, just so they can excuse themselves?

I am autistic, and have some other autistic family members. But I have someone in my life that claims to also be autistic while also getting angry (full on screaming and punishing) whenever I or someone else shows traits of being autistic. But then will turn around and cry/complain about how awful it is for them and how they need all these accommodations (when they throw an entire temper tantrum if they have to be accommodating towards me or the other autistic people in my life).

I am the type of autistic person that is EXTREMELY GOOD at pattern recognition. So much so I have diagnosed myself accurately with every psychological/physical ailment that I have been diagnosed with long before any professional looked at me. And because of this I feel like this person in particular is not autistic, they don’t really “fit” in the spectrum. But the problem is idk if I am just being an asshole about it or not.

Obviously I don’t want to gate keep or anything. Ive had my fair share of people not understanding/believing what I go through. However, it still feels wrong that this person is parading as an autistic person when they absolutely REFUSE to recognize any autistic traits in those around them. Actively punishing and berating everyone that shows any signs of neurodivergence, then turning around and complaining that they are just “too neurodivergent” to deal with anything.

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I just being an asshole about it?
