hi. im here to kamukoma ramble. ok so i reeaaly hate how all kamumeshi Fan Content (which is basically all kamukoma content) waters down izuru to being the dominant one and servant to being his cute little dog like i feel like its so much more complex then that.

izuru was created to be subservient, to be smart enough to see through manipulation tactics and yet not care enough about himself to do anything to stop them, always doing something to serve someone else’s interests - and even when he does do one thing in his own interest (the killing game), it was largely because of his obsession with junko, so we see her still pulling the strings on him from beyond the grave (emphasized by his convo with her in his udg cameo). he doesn’t have power and he’s been designed not to want it. he’s been robbed of his humanity over and over again and been taught to accept it. he even explicitly states all of this in talent dev plan with taka

komaeda, on the other hand, is always framed with such heavy control over the narrative - he heavily influences dr2’s ending and takes that same puppeteering role in udg too. although he has that inferiority complex, he still holds so much power over everyone else, manipulating them like chess pieces. he is just as dangerous as izuru is, considering he has not only the intelligence but the motivation to act out like this, something izuru lacks.

and so this creates a really cool complexity where servant believes he’s meant to be subservient to izuru but this may not be wholly reflected in the way he acts, and izuru most definitely does not care for/about controlling servant. and, if izuru does take a domineering role, it’s because that’s what servant wants (especially after junko’s death, when he has no one left to place himself beneath), and so izuru’s still letting himself go with whoever the people surrounding him want him to be. he’s not with servant for the power trip, that goes completely against everything he’s ever been - because, in reality, IZURU is the one who exists to serve. to serve his creators, and then junko afterwards, even after her death. his purpose has always been assigned to him, not created by him.

both characters are fucked up and morally grey. both characters are the man, both characters are the god.

this is what i wish people would focus more on when writing their general character development and the development of their relationship. because they barely get any screen time you get lots of creative freedom and you can take this concept in either a “they are going to heal and get better together” route or a “they are doomed to always hurt each other in their codependency” route or some weird thing in between; again, personal preference, and if you want to keep izuru and hajime separate postgame this opens a whole new plethora of dynamics and development to write about after komaeda becomes himself again. the flexibility of their dynamic is whats so intriguing to me - kamukoma is a very complex and fluid idea that i wish more people would mess around with like this join me and we can play with them like putty

Publication: August 20, 2004 (between episodes 29-30) Ryoji Morimoto (Hajime Aikawa) x Terunosuke Takezai (Kotaro Shirai)

"Currently, It appears that the two of you are not getting along within the drama."

Takezai: Hajime is reluctant to reach out, while Kotaro is. Kotaro wants to protect Amane-chan and Haruka-san, but can't even protect himself, and Hajime is the one to always protect us, which frustrates Kotaro……So now, he's taking it out on Hajime?

Morimoto: When he sees Kotaro like that, I feel that Hajime finds it very interesting.

Takezai: There's a part of Hajime that Kotaro admires, but he won't allow himself to feel that way. It's a complicated feeling.

Morimoto: Hajime is uncertain too. Being around Amane-chan makes his heart feel at ease and warm inside, but he still doesn't understand what it means "to be loved," and he doesn't even understand why he wants to protect her. As his human side develops, so too will the number of his problems, and I think Hajime is going to have a much harder time from now on.

"So, apart from your roles, what do you like about each other?"

Morimoto: He has good intuition, can immediately grasp the situation, and he's also very tolerant and considerate.

Takezai: I don't have anything to say about his performance, other than that I've learned quite alot from him. Usually, you act pretty silly, don't you? And when everyone's together, the tension really rises. But, when it comes to acting, he changes completely. I think, "Is this really the same guy?" The range of emotions, and the way in which he switches between them is amazing. I'm usually very reserved.

"Kotaro's becoming more and more quiet…or rather, it's more like he's becoming serious."

Takezai: There's alot of emotional ups and downs. Every time we get a new script, it's something new. I'm like, "Ah, so this time it's this emotion." I used to play Kotaro, but the range has become so narrow, that now, I'm pretty much playing the role of Terunosuke Takezai.

"Would you ever consider switching roles?"

Morimoto: I don't get to smile much, do I? Kotaro is a really cute guy, and he has a charming smile, I'd like to be able to laugh too.

Takezai: I'd like to try being Chalice. I rarely get to show my emotions. If you think about it, we're the complete opposite in terms of personality.

Morimoto: Yeah. I think Hajime is jealous of Kotaro because they're complete opposites. Hajime wants to smile, but his smile continues to be rather awkward. I want to hurry up and become human…..

Takezai: Then you'd be a monstrous human (laughs).

"What's the most interesting part about Chalice?"

Morimoto: Because I don't have many lines, the lack of dialogue makes it much more difficult to communicate through my eyes and facial expressions. That's why I'm looking forward to seeing how I'll show the process of becoming human.

"Come to think of it, have you been working out recently?"

Morimoto: When I watched 555's movie, there's a shirtless transformation scene, so I was worried that something like that would be in our movie, so I just thought......I don't want to look like a matchstick if I have to take my clothes off (laughs). I do think Hajime is strong, even in his human body.

"What about Takezai's role in the film?"

Takezai: The movie takes place 4 years after the TV show, and I've become a stuck up guy after selling my books and becoming rich……

Morimoto: Kotaro seems to be much more active in the movie.

"Do you ever have time to go out drinking together or just hang out?"

Takezai: Now that you mention it, we've never gone out drinking together once, have we?!

Morimoto: We all go out to eat together, don't we?

"Do you share any common interests, like soccer or motorcycles?"

Morimoto: We do. We both like comedy.

Takezai: I like to laugh. Although, I'm better at being laughed at than at making people laugh.

Morimoto: I'm more of Tsubaki-kuns type.

Takezai: I think you're right

Morimoto: It's better if no one notices me doing it. So I try to do it secretly.

Takezai: There are times where the audio crew picks up on it, and then they'll suddenly start laughing. It makes me happy when they laugh.

Morimoto: I can't help but sometimes joke in front of everyone! Sometimes I do it too much and get pulled aside.

Takezai: Lately, no one comments on your jokes, so you've been forcing them.

Morimoto: I'm like, "…wha, hey!" (laughs).

Takezai: That's…it's alittle bit funny.

"You share a similar hobby, but do you have any differences?"

Takezai: Yeah, I love soccer, but I'm more of an indoor type of person. I recently had 3 weeks off, but during that time, I stayed inside for a whole week. It was tiring, but I do like to just space out at home.

Morimoto: I'm about ready to get out of here! (*he can't imagine being indoors for that long)

"Well then, finally, for you two complete opposites, please give a yell of support to each other."

Takezai: Yell? Support? Don't want to.

Morimoto: No (firmly).

Takezai: With Ryoji around, I can focus on acting with a sense of ease. I trust him.

Morimoto: I'm at ease too. I feel he gives off alot of confidence.

Takezai: The truth is that I have alot of work to do. And yet, everyone says it doesn't look that way…..

Morimoto: I can see you're nervous. Your tongue tends to do this, right? (he licks his lips)

Takezai: Yeah (laughs).

"Well, we're looking forward to it!"

Takezai: Please look forward to watching Chalice this August!

Morimoto: That's right! From now on, the relationships will continue to be very interesting!

Me venting a bit. (My personal experiences with Chiaki, and the fandom's perception of her.)

(Posted on Reddit as well, so my bad if some wording is a bit off.)

Hi everyone.

I wanted to make this post to let out some steam and to sort out my mind, and maybe some people here can relate/feel the same.

I want to start off by saying that in no way am i directly targeting someone with this post, or people who have some sort of differing opinion on her, you are allowed to dislike Chiaki, i just feel that the fandom is really downplaying her character.

Anyway, let's start with my initial reactions to Chiaki in both DR2 and DR3. My very first impressions of her was very... Eh. On the very surface to me she looked like a "waifubait" type character, really just made to make specific anime fans happy. I was wrong. I was SO wrong. Those feelings began to change around 2-4, when she became a lot more active and made her presence a lot more well known. The moment where i was like "Please don't die" was during the moment Chiaki convinced Hajime NOT to go in the final dead room.

It was also during those chapters where i started with her FTE's (although i was kinda late, and i never had the time to finish it). 2-5 was THE moment i shed my first tear in the series, the way they built it up, how the survivors reacted to it, Usami's last words, Sonia's Rebuttal Showdown. it became the most memorable moment in the series for me. And after finishing it a day later, 2-6 extended that.

So, great right? That alone gave me a pretty damn good reason to make her my favorite character just for memorability alone. a few days later i started watching DR3. I was already semi-spoiled by her fate thanks to youtube, but i never watched the full execution to keep that a surprise for me still, good lord, somehow DR3 EXPANDED everything i love about Chiaki and more. Her sense of acting more "human". her friendship with Hajime, and Chisa, just. All of it. And I KNEW the writers knew, which is why they gave her such a cruel fate.

So, those where my initial reactions of Chiaki, and after finishing V3 i was finally unshackled from the horror called spoilers. It was also around this time i started becoming an actual fan of the entire series in general. I made my DR oriented Twitter account, i joined r/danganronpa, and began reading fics (Extra Life is one of the best DR related fan projects i've ever read, seriously.)

But, something was off. It seems to me that a lot of people didn't share a lot of the same things i felt. Now of course, i'm fine with that you know? People have differing opinions so i don't expect everyone to feel the same as me, but some where like, outright hostile or completely slandering the character, like "Chiaki was meant for fans to masturbate over" or "DR3 Chiaki is a character that shouldn't even exist in concept", and even in appreciation posts she gets shit on in the comments. Which is like, so weird to me, a lot of attention was put into making Chiaki such a subtle character, from the way she was written in both DR2 and DR3.

I felt completely and utterly alone in this for a while, and it made me feel really sad. It was not too long after where i met some people on tumblr chat, i prefer to keep their names anonymous, but they as well felt very similar to the things i was feeling, and we started to talk more. I learned they had their own server to vent about stuff like this, and we've been talking a lot more since. One of them told me that around 2017, they outright ditched the entire fandom altogether, and really only talk DR with the people they know. The other has pretty much ditched reddit and moved on to other social media websites, deemed a lot safer to communicate Danganronpa with. I've talked with some artists as well, who weren't even aware this was "still" happening.

So, that begs the question. I've seen a LOT of people straight up hating her, even outside reddit. Why does she keep being so popular? If i'm right, r/ultimategamer has THE most members out of ANY DR Character, she was placed #2 at the official character poll, and probably even more that i forgot to mention.

Am i wrong about this? Do people really praise her for the character she is? It can't just be because of her looks right? There has to be more than that, right?

I left that subreddit yesterday. I decided that it does not offer any value to me other than the fact that Danganronpa Kirigiri got fully translated. And really, it feels like constant negativity and "unpopular opinions/tierlist" posts.

...That's all i wanted to say. I also want to make it clear that aside from SOME characters, I really like almost every single one lf them, flaws and all. I've become a lot more cynical on the franchise lately, like the negatives of DR3 overpowering the positives, and becoming a lot more hostile and negative as well. I hope that stepping away for a bit will improve it. I hope that anyone reading this felt some sort of relatability in regards to this, it would make me pretty happy to know I'm not alone in this.

Hakuoki Yuugiroku 2 - 《Autumn Shinsengumi Sports Day!》——Closing Ceremony?

I apparently have bad allergies of some sort that causes irritation in my eyes according to my optometrist... also Toronto Fan Expo's this week so expect me to not respond to messages in a timely manner.

Anyway, here's the last part of this story! I mention what I'll probably translate next in the notes.

Hakuoki Yuugiroku 2 - 《Autumn Shinsengumi Sports Day!》——Closing Ceremony?

The quiet fall of night gradually erased the traces of the fierce fighting from the day.

After the matches were over, Chizuru, who had finished tallying the scores, turned towards Kondou and spoke.

Yukimura: "Kondou-san, please look at this. Although the results has been decided, this…"

Kondou: "……Oh." It appears that each team has the same score? This is completely unexpected."

As a result of the competition, the three teams of red, white and oni, had all tied. Kondou, who was serving as the referee, crossed his arms and contemplated for a moment before slapping his palms.

Kondou: "Oh, since the competition ended in a tie, there's no way around it. There's no need to distribute prizes…!"

Heisuke: "Wa-Wait a sec, Kondou-san! How can there we not get prizes after working so hard!"

Shinpachi: "That's right, that's right, we put in a lot of sweat!"

Heisuke and Nagakura made a noisy argument in protest. Seeing this, Kondou had an embarrassed at this breakdown, and finally shook his head gently and compromised.

Kondou: "Oh, I'm a man too! Even if I have to pay out of my own pocket, I have fill everyone's wishes! Yukimura-kun, help me collect everyone's wishes!"

After a while——

Chizuru was putting a brush to paper, and one by one, wrote down their wishes. The first object of inquiry was Hijikata.

Yukimura: "Then I'll ask you first, Hijikata-san of the read team, what is your wish?"

Hijikata: "Me? I don't have much desire. Unlike those reckless guys, how could I possibly put more of a burden on Kondou-san?"

Yukimura: "Pfft, that's really like HIjikata-san's style of handling things. Then what about oni team's Shiranui-san?"

Shiranui: "Huh? I don't have any expectations for humans. I just got dragged into this, that's all."

Yukimura: "Oh, Shiranui-san doesn't have a wish…. next is the white team's Nagakura-san…."

Nagakura: "I said it at the start, of course it's sake! I don't want the cheap ones that I normally drink, I want to drink good sake!"

Yukimura: "Okay, then we'll prepare some good sake for you to drink later! Um, then Amagiri-san..."

Amagiri: "I also have no desires. If insisted upon, then I hope that Kazama can become a bit more calm."

Yukimura: "That's not something that I can accomplish….. Next, um, is Kazama-san's turn…"

With a face full of worry/horror, Chizuru looked at Kazama.

Kazama revealed a wicked expression that was difficult to describe in words, and spoke with a crooked mouth.

Kazama: "Then allow my wife to spare a day for a tryst with me. I originally wanted you to hand her back over, so you should thank me for being so magnanimous."

Yukimura: "Tryst……. uh, ehh!?"

Souji: "Put your hands up——Chizuru-chan. My wish is to have that oni's babbling nonsense made into a scroll then thrown away."

Yuimura: "Th-Thrown away...?"

Saito: "Then give me the right to be Yukimura's bodyguard for a day."

Yukimura: Saito-san is going to be my bodyguard....?"

Heisuke: "Ah, you're too cunning, Hajime-kun! I was just about to say that!"

Yukimura: "He-Heisuke-kun, you too!?"

Harada: "Then let's just go take turns. That is to say, schedule Saito for the morning, Heisuke in the afternoon, and my turn in the evening. Please arrange it like this, Chizuru."

………………………………

And so and so forth.

Kazama: "You bastards........ to go as far as demanding a mile after giving you an inch.......!"

Hijikata: "It's all your fault for saying all of those outrageous things!"

The angry tongue-lashing of Kazama and Hijikata overlapped one another.

As the party involved, Chizuru was panicking while Sannan and Yamazaki, who were watching from side, sighed softly.

Sanan: "......Yamazaki-kun. Let's take Yukimura-kun and retreat first?"

Yamazaki: "Yes. Seeing how things are right now, Yukimura-kun's personal safety will be threatened..."

The fight between this group of people continued and they refused to stop until they noticed that Chizuru had disappeared.——

rough coe thoughts re: my first impressions of hajime + utsugi and how they've changed, i will maybe write something a bit more coherent later

on first watch of coe i thought utsugi's devotion was a lot more genuine (=not self-serving) (or not 'aware'?) and i took hatsutori's moment in the garden + moment at the very end as the same kind of 'genuine devotion' but reciprocated.

i…don't think it's 'not' reciprocated in the sense that utsugi being Around At All is unwanted or that hatsutori did not at some point encourage The Bit but as i went through dlc i guess i came to realize that they weren't on the same page at all--and while i don't think it was out of active malice in either case (neither of them were just Intending to use the other without caring about their wellbeing/what they really want) that doesn't quite matter

i like the stupid hajime and the utsugikun who never says anything and how their priorities were different from the start i like how hajime wanted to not be a monster and utsugikun wanted someone to depend on him i like how they were exactly what the other person 'wanted' from the start but not what they needed and unlike utsugikun and mr harada where mr harada wanted to reach out and understand him but was too late and too much of a coward hajime and utsugikun never quite 'tried' in the same way from the start partly /because/ they were what the other person 'wanted' and to change would be to not be what the other person wants and to change would be to admit that they didn't /want/ to do what they ended up doing and that they were wrong

i think what hajime hatsutori 'wanted' was the praise and admiration from being a star i think what noriyuki utsugi 'wanted' was the reassurance that came from knowing that someone would always need him, there would always be someone who couldn't stand on their own two feet (metaphorically although) and who needed him to do everything.

i think what hajime hatsutori /needed/ was someone to say you're human stop doing this shit enough with the experiments. i think what noriyuki utsugi /needed/ was to not be the leader of a cult and instead be overly naggy and micromanaging with someone who would call him overly naggy and micromanaging but kind of like it anyway and like /him/ anyway.

but if they get what they need--if hatsutori gets what he needs, someone says he's human, then he is a human with dirty hands who, by his own inaction, did wrong things and allowed horrible things to pass. he wouldn't be praised and admired. he wouldn't get what he wants and would have to give up on that forever.

if utsugi gets what he needs--someone who doesn't need him, someone who can stand on their own two feet, someone who 'could' leave him or refuse to reach out at any point, then that means it won't be someone who can't stand on their own two feet, someone that /could/ leave…well, he'd have to trust that that person liked him anyway. he'd have to give up on the security of what he 'wanted' forever.

to be human or a 'person', in the end, is both to love yourself /as/ yourself and to take responsibility for your actions. neither noriyuki nor hajime call themselves human in the end. that's all. well it's my thoughts anyway.

'i want you to write that an inhuman, foolish, blind zealot went to hell. that's the way it should be.' 'i no longer need to be human.' i guess…well, i guess if i had to say, reading these lines again now…i don't think either of them took full responsibility in the end. that's really all.

But yeah, this one made my cold dead heart happy. Pets and snuggles galore! But who exactly is getting and giving these pets and snuggles? Read and find out!

Enough rambling, Naga time!

Nagito recalled all he had said the previous night with perfect clarity. He knew he had finally told Hajime verbally and explicitly that he ‘loved’ him. And because of previous reactions to his advances, he was sure that the brunette would need a little time to process this. Probably in his home on his own. So Nagito didn’t fret when morning came and Hajime was nowhere to be seen.

But that didn’t stop him from inquiring about him to his twin. “I trust he is doing alright in there. Flustered?”

Izuru had come out with a mug of tea, ready for the day with his hair tied back. “Correct. I suspect he didn’t expect your boldness. Though he really should have seen this coming.”

“Ah, so he told you? Do you approve?” the naga asked, tilting his head.

“I do. You are a good match for him. Though I might not feel those kinds of sensations myself, I understand that this makes my brother happy. And that’s all I want to see.”

Nagito smiled, his fangs in view. “I appreciate it. It means so much to hear that from you. I’ll do my best to ensure he continues to be happy.”

Izuru nodded. “See that you do.”

A few moments passed between them, Izuru taking a sip of his tea. Then Nagito backed up a bit to begin ascending. “I will need to go scent the border of my forest today. I shall be back by your lunchtime. Could you tell Hajime this? And tell him not to worry.”

The red eyed human hummed as he watched the giant creature rise above him. “Very well. I’ll inform him. I expect he will be anxiously awaiting your return. Travel safe.”

With a small wave, Nagito began slithering away to his forest. He kept his smile up even as he faced away and when he crossed the forest boundary. How could he not? He was so happy. And he didn’t think much could bring his mood down.

And he was correct. The hours he spent navigating through his woods were full of positive feelings as he accomplished his set task. He tried to be thorough in his scenting ever since the clash with the gray naga. And it seemed to have worked with keeping more potentially dangerous creatures at bay. Sonia was the exception, as she had proved to be a valuable friend. But he was fulfilling his promise to his beloved, making sure his territory was properly marked.

He had nearly finished by early afternoon, proud of himself for the speed and efficiency of his work. He couldn’t wait to boast to the humans of his good job and receive the well deserved praise. However, his premature celebration was interrupted by a strange scent. One he had never encountered before.

He lowered himself to the ground, silencing all movements as he observed. What could this creature be? And so close to the human road, too. Not many creatures dared to come this far, so he was perplexed by this creature’s choice in location. Although, the scent seemed to get stronger by the second, indicating that it was approaching. It smelled young, so most likely not a threat. So Nagito simply waited and watched.

Sure enough, the creature came bounding through the bushes, bumping into his face with a startled whimper.

Blinking in surprise, Nagito pulled back to observe what had run into him. It looked like… a dog? At least, that’s what he thought it was from Hajime’s previous descriptions of the species. It was light brown and quite small, so it was probably a puppy. It didn’t look to have any injuries and was walking just fine. In fact, it’s composure was fine as well. It barked excitedly, wagging its tail at a rapid pace as it looked at him.

“No fear, huh? You certainly are a brave little one,” Nagito whispered. His voice excited the puppy more, who ran up to him and placed its paws on his cheek. It reached forward and licked him over and over again. And just like that, Nagito found himself completely endeared to the young dog.

“You are… so adorable. I love you already. Hey, how about you come with me to Hajime’s house? There’s food and water there,” he asked the puppy, receiving a happy yap in response.

He was grateful that the forest edge wasn’t far away. Only a few minutes of traveling. The puppy wasn’t exhausted by the time they made it. The little one had eagerly followed him, keeping up while yipping. And soon, both the naga and the puppy were in the sunlight. Glancing over to the human’s home, he saw both of the twins out on the patio. And they had for sure noticed him.

Once he was close enough, he waved to them. “Please come over! I have someone for you to meet!”

This piqued their interests, so they put down their drinks and made their way over, though Izuru kept ahold of his yogurt container. Both widened their eyes in surprise when they saw the brown puppy running around the naga.

“Nagito, where did you find a puppy?” Hajime asked with bewilderment. It seemed like this event had overridden the possibility to be flustered.

“It was near the fence line that is close to the road! I’m not sure why. I couldn’t smell any more dogs. So I think it was on its own.”

Izuru and Hajime exchanged a very quick glance, as if they knew something. But Izuru returned his gaze to the puppy who was now at their feet. “May I do a quick examination? I would like to determine its health and overall condition.”

Nagito nodded, lowering himself onto his stomach again. “Please do! I want to make sure it’s okay.”

Thus, Izuru got to work. He looked over the puppy with a keen eye, petting it and allowing it to eat his yogurt while doing so. Hajime joined the naga while this was going on, leaning against the soft cheek. “What to do now? I didn’t think this would ever occur while living here.”

Nagito raised one of his hands to hug the human to his cheek. “Can we keep it? Please? It’s so cute and friendly! Can it stay with us? Please? Please?” he begged, doing his best to convince the human.

Hajime’s cheeks reddened at the closeness, which he would have teased about if he wasn’t pleading to keep the puppy. But his efforts paid off, as Hajime sighed. “I… guess we can. Izuru and I can go get supplies in a bit.” He looked over to his brother, who had allowed the puppy to run back over to them. “What’s the diagnosis?”

Izuru brushed the dirt off his knees before standing. “A wolf dog. Female. No sign of injuries or illnesses. A bit underweight, but not dangerously so. A good temperament, too. And she clearly feels comfortable around people, be it human or naga.”

“A little girl, huh? A precious sweetheart. Yes, you are,” Nagito cooed, carefully petting the soft fur with a finger. In response, the puppy flopped over onto her back, exposing her belly for more pets.

Hajime laughed a bit, joining him in petting the puppy. “So, now that she’s going to be living with us, what shall we call her?”

Nagito hummed as he pulled his hand back slightly to curl around the wolf dog. “I don’t know! Can you choose for me?”

“What? You’re making me choose. Ugh… I’m bad at this kinda stuff. But fine. Hmmm…” Hajime repositioned himself so that he was laying in the shawl, getting comfortable as he thought. The puppy rolled back onto her feet, jumping up to lick his face. The brunette laughed a bit as he pulled the dog off of him. “Huh, she has a clover sticking out of her fur. And it’s a four leaf clover. Man, she’s just as lucky as you. Oh wait. That’s an option. What about Clover as a name?”

“Clover. It’s very cute. Very fitting for our little girl,” Nagito said cheerfully. “You are now Clover, and this is your new home.”

The puppy barked and spun in a circle. She clearly was overjoyed.

Izuru cleared his throat from where he was standing. “The name is finalized, correct? Then I shall go procure the necessary items from the store. I have memorized her sizes and shall have a collar made for her. Hajime, you may stay here and bond with Clover. I shall head out now.” The raven haired human turned abruptly and headed to his car, getting in and driving off with no additional words.

The three watched his car disappear, a bit surprised, but not too shocked. This was typical Izuru behavior. So they settled back down, relaxing in the warm sun.

“Thank you, Hajime. I feel like we are building a little family now. It makes me so happy,” Nagito spoke quietly, watching as Clover wiggled her way under his hand and popped her little face up close to his nose.

“Y-yeah. I'm glad you are.” Hajime pet the neck near him tenderly, the motions so soft and full of care. “Hey, about what you said last night… I do feel the same. I just… can’t say it aloud as easily. Give me some time, I’ll try to work up to it, okay?”

Nagito’s smile grew so wide. “This moment could not be more perfect. I am truly the luckiest naga. And yes, I can wait forever. Please take your time. I’ll be here.”

Hajime pet his skin a final time before relaxing back into the shawl around him. He would likely fall asleep there, as he had in the past. Nagito was more than fine with this. He had his treasures here with him, both of which loved him back. He couldn’t possibly ask for more. So he too relaxed, closing his eyes as his family soaked up the sun’s warmth.

I was a huge Tolkien nerd at one point; it’s on the back burner for me right now but I still know stuff and have feelings on it.

I don’t watch much visual media, but I do enjoy some anime (right now mostly One Piece and Hajime No Ippo) and occasionally get excited about a movie.

Makoto Naegi Birthday Headcanons

Today is Makoto Naegi’s birthday, and I made some headcanons! They’re a small set, about eight — and I think I might have shared one of them before, although maybe not for his birthday, more of a fankids headcanon thing — but hopefully you will enjoy them nonetheless!

• Unlike a lot of kids you hear about, Makoto was actually pretty excited to be a big brother. And I’m sure you’re thinking — how could a one year old be excited? And I’m here to tell you that Komaru and Makoto’s age gap is a translation error, and that while that art book does say a year, I haven’t seen Komaru’s UDG conversations where she says otherwise retranslated to confirm that it actually WAS an error, ergo… It’s a set of headcanons and I’m doing what I want, don’t overthink it.

Anyway — he wanted to be helpful with Komaru if he could, and generally liked spending time around her even if she was just laying there being all wiggly like babies are. It was almost like fascination. Depending on how young you think he was, I could probably even see him trying to offer her his own pacifier when she cried. All around, Makoto was just very cute when it came to Komaru, and their parents were constantly melting over their adorable perfect babies.

• Given the nature of Makoto’s luck, it’s actually quite rare that he even notices its effects. He doesn’t think that bad things happen to him all that much more than other people, but given that his luck is so related to injury and life-or-death situations, he doesn’t always notice how good it can be. Like if he cuts himself with a large knife and it’s not that deep, he’ll just bandage himself up and be glad that it’s not worse, not really considering WHY it’s not worse. Living a relatively normal life, the close calls are way less noticeable to him, so it’s only after the Killing Game that he kind of goes, “Huh. I am kind of lucky.”

• Has a strangely difficult time gaining weight and keeping it on. It drives him crazy. He keeps up a decent diet for someone of his age and gets some exercise (probably more as an adult than as a teen, because THH has him mention his favourite sport in school was “going home”), but he has trouble building up muscle and just overall making himself more sturdy. Given that he’s perfectly healthy, he can’t quite complain, but sometimes he can’t help but feel kind of scrawny when he hangs around some of his other friends.

• Favourite type of video game are beat ‘em ups. Especially kind people tend to have their outlets for their anger, whether it be sports or horror movies or whatever, and for Makoto, it’s beat ‘em up video games. If he’s had a rough day at school or work, maybe Byakuya has been a real jerk to him or he wasn’t able to perform to Hope’s Peak standards, he loves to go home and just let loose on the video game system until he feels better. It’s just a special kind of catharsis for him that keeps him from exploding at people, which is something that he loathes doing.

• Speaking of which, as we see from his internal monologue, Makoto is actually quite capable of being snarky and sarcastic like Hajime, but he chooses not to. He knows the feelings are only human, especially when surrounded by a bunch of folks as quirky as his classmates, but his attitude is generally that if it’s not nice, it’s not likely to be something that needs to be said, so he tends to bite his tongue on such matters. However, if the person is enough of a jerk, he might mutter to himself — and if any of his loved ones catch what he says, they usually burst out laughing because of how out of character it is.

• Good at public speaking, but doesn’t actually think he’s that good at it. He gets a little nervous every time he goes up to do it, not knowing if he’s going to say the right thing, but as soon as he’s up there and doing it, it becomes as naturally to him as breathing. It mesmerizes and amazes everyone who watches him, and he’s been asked by others for tips before… and has not entirely known how to respond. Most of the time, he surprises even himself with what he can do. If you record him and have him watch it back, he’ll often say that it’s like watching someone else who looks exactly like him.

• Makoto’s pet name from his mother was “Sunbeam” because of his cheerful attitude. As an adult, Makoto uses the same pet name with his own kids. It has a new meaning for him, being the light of his life and his ray of sunshine for the future. Plus, it’s a nice way for him to help keep the memory of his mom around, and all the effort and love she and his father put into raising their family.

• A long-standing debate between him and Kyoko is whether or not pineapple pizza is good. Makoto is adamant, ADAMANT, that it is delicious and Kyoko doesn’t know what she is talking about. Kyoko, on the other hand, is almost angry as she insists that it is not and he is blinded by tastebuds that accept the mediocre. She even likens it to Komaru’s tastes for kangaroo meat. They never go too far in their debating about it of course, but there is a running joke where they go on pestering each other about their respective opinions whenever they get the opportunity. Which is funny, because being Japanese… there are some more unusual choices for pizza that they could be fighting over!

For every “Trope” I get, I will post a TV trope for my muse.

CASSANDRA TRUTH

Upon introduction to his character, Gatekeeper tells to not take an interest in him or he will kill the person asking (in this case, Hajime). During the story he does repeat how he can, if he so wishes, kill anyone he wants to. However, most of the cast hearing so never take him seriously, mostly because in their more peaceful world view, it is impossible that someone has enough power to just casually kill someone without any authority or pressure of one stopping someone to do so. The reality is that Gatekeeper definitely can, and has power to clean a murder mess up. However, most of the times those threats depend on context: killing someone is easy for him, it is the complications of the aftermath of a murder that stops him to do so. It is messy and requires a lot of resources to cover up. Atop of it all, as someone who has had experience in such, you cannot kill just anyone you do not like or else you have no pawns or resources in your hands: keeping bothersome individuals you already know around is much more useful than risking them being replaced by someone more dangerous. Still, as a no nonsense individual who puts pragmatism above all, he still could kill people he sees as insects who would not be missed, just the fact that he alone can kill a human without hesitating (atop of the power he has) is telling enough of how dangerous he is, and characters like Anzu and Hiiro realize this.

EVEN EVIL HAS STANDARDS

Although Gatekeeper has ruined countless lives in various awful ways, he does find it cruel when... it's done to basically throw a tantrum. He absolutely disapproves of Priest's pseudoscience methods which have no clear goal but him grasping at the idea of someone who is gone and dead. The grooming and kidnapping of children? The trauma inflicted on minors and adults alike? All good, as long as the reasons are for something outside you not being able to handle emotions. The results? Him helping out some kids damaged by Priest, so they can be useful to something other than the drama he inflicts on them. He sighs and tries to make things right.

TALL, DARK AND SNARKY

Gatekeeper has the classic Tall, Dark and Handsome mysterious appearance to him. He is very well groomed, both his hair and suit screams high quality products and subtle cologne. Compared to other characters, his silhouette on his art also show to be more muscular, giving him a more powerful feel than the slim idols and teachers: his shoulder and chest are broader and the way his clothes fall on him imply this guy, alongside with his background, workouts a lot. And, since he is not an idol, said workout is for physical strength rather than form, going on the more muscular side. His design is sharp all over, and he constantly has this sinister expression on his face. The snarkiness comes that... well... this man cannot open his mouth insulting someone. He belittles constantly everyone and their cow, for seemingly no reason than him finding everyone around him stupid (and, really, he finds himself stupid too to a degree, he finds all humans absurd but he gives himself brownie points for self-awareness). It is to the point of being comically villainous, which makes him the perfect antagonist punching bag. Go for it. He got the abs and pecs to take it.

Kamukoma is a ship between Nagito Komaeda and Izuru Kamukura from Danganronpa. Nagito is a Hope's Peak Academy student, known as the Ultimate Lucky (or SHSL Luck), whereas Izuru is an A.I in Hajime's body, known as the Ultimate Hope (SHSL Hope works too).

Ship began sailing when a very homoerotic scene happens: Izuru grabbing Nagito by the waist. It's even hotter when you realize Nagito is obsessed with Hope, and Izuru is—yep, you guessed it—the Ultimate Hope. This leaves an effect to lots of Komahina shippers, since Izuru is a somewhat robot "idealized" version of Hajime himself, plus haha Nagito manages to fall in love with the same guy again thats just how much he loves hajizuru.

Comparing Komahina with Kamukoma, Nagito falls in love with the same aspect of both Hinata/Kamukura, despite both being different people. The result of their relationship, however, ends up differently.

The fact is; Nagito loves Hajime because he thought he was an Ultimate. He had the same thing going with everyone else. Although, despite him obsessing with Hajime the same way he obsesses with other Ultimates, he saw a different "aura" coming from Hajime. He believes that he and Hajime are "similar", aka Would Do Anything To Get Noticed (Hajime was a starving man for talent abilities and worth, Nagito believes he is unworthy of attention, but deep down that's what he seeks for) and they both technically don't have any talent! (Hajime has no talent, and luck...well, it's not really a talent, is it now?) Thus the relationship creates a genuine bond after CH4 where Nagito hates Hajime for finding out that Hajime is, indeed, similar to Nagito. Basically, Komahina good! Nagito genuinely likes Hajime because they're both "equal". Oh and probably also because Hajime takes Makoto's steps: an average guy, manages to create hope when his friends need it. That changes Komaeda's way of thinking, said in wiki that he "believes in the potential of the talentless, because such "weak" people succeeding and rising up from despair would create even more hope." Crazy how much Hajime could've changed him, if he were still alive in CH5, eh?

So, what about Kamukoma? It's the same thing but they're more broken, y'see. When I said "Nagito falls in love with the same aspect of both Hinata/Kamukura", I was specifically talking about hope. Izuru and Hajime switch places; they win some, they lose some (- personality, + talent). The concept of "Ultimate Hope" means 'Being able to do everything without effort' to Izuru Kamukura and Hope's Peak, which attracts Nagito. That basically means Izuru can create hope, no problemo! That's why their relationship is ruined. Izuru Kamukura is the "ideal" guy to Nagito, he's basically everything Nagito wants (except he can't give...affection to Nagito, not at all. hes just sitting there, unamused). He creates despair and hope, he's able to destroy humanity or save it, he's God himself. Why wouldn't Nagito worship him? Izuru meets all Nagito's unhealthy expectations and standards. They're both traumatized, and instead of fixing their beliefs, he both stay delusional, believing that all talentless people are worthless, and the Ultimates are the mighty. Terrifying how society norms can ruin your life. So basically, Kamukoma good, too! Not very healthy, but it definitely tells a story. Nagito always has high expectations of other Ultimates, and if they fail to do them— he stops respecting them and considers them a failure. This will never apply to Izuru Kamukura, as he is capable of doing anything, as long as you ask him to do it. Thus Nagito will make him "his toy" by pulling the strings and perhaps even create a much greater hope than ever.

I think the relationship is even more sadder when you consider the fact that Nagito wants attention. He wants someone to tell him that they love him and hug him, and Izuru is not the right person for that. But he's too obsessed and absorbed with his mere existence, he doesn't want to get rid of him at all. All he wants to hear from Izuru is "I love you", knowing well that even if he would say that, he wouldn't mean it. That's the greatest part of Kamukoma, the angst.............. Then again, maybe he CAN love, but I'm too focused on the part of "robot kamukura" idea where he doesn't show love because he traded his heart for skill & brains, thus creating an entire emotionless person with no care in the world. Basically, acearo Kamukura in a relationship he doesn't care about. Sad, but GOD it's so good.

Komahina and Kamukoma make me smile so much Ahhhhh i love the gay guys who either fight against the society norms together or support it and continue on destroying their own identities.

what does your muse smell like?

He always smells of perfume - which makes sense considering his career. It always tends to be floral scents, and switches out almost daily. His brand does focus on flowers as a main scent base at the end of the day. But occasionally he’ll also smell like sweet fruits or spices, depending on the season or holiday. There’s no one scent he’ll ever use to describe or define himself, nor does he even have a signature perfume, like I said, it changes day to day.

what do your muse’s hands feel like?

Soft, way too soft. Hands that have never seen a day of hard work in their life. Hands that can easily get scratched or hurt if he misbehaves too much. Due to his huge hatred of pain and injury, he is sure to look after his hands as much as he can.

what does your muse usually eat in a day?

That’s if he remembers to eat. Thankfully he does live in a mansion that has staff so they can usually get him to eat a meal. He only eats ‘light’ foods, or relies on snacks. Eating a full course or filling meal is an extremely rare sight and he’ll do it on special occasions if he has too.

does your muse have a good singing voice?

Probably so-so. He likes to hum a lot and has an airy sort of voice, so he can sing but it depends on the song.

does your muse have any bad habits or nervous ticks?

He doesn’t get nervous unless under extremely specific situations, but he does have.. a lot of bad habits? The compulsive lying about being an angel is at the top of the list, next to never giving people his real name. He’s also reckless. If someone’s kite flies into a tree he’d climb up to rescue it. If something fell into a body of water he’d swim in to grab it. He’ll run into the middle of the road to save an animal, he values life but he also plays with his own so willy-nilly. He falls in love with strangers and trusts them within moments of meeting them, then using them to fulfill whatever desire he wants. (Although there are many times when he lets the situation be reversed). He’s human but denies it. Being delusional stops him from facing reality.

what does your muse usually look like / wear?

Hajime has dark shaggy/wavy hair that falls to his shoulders and usually wears it down, or half-up/half-down with a large hairclip holding it up. All his hairclips are shaped like butterflies or have wings on them as they simply play into aesthetics he likes. Occasionally he’ll tie it up into a small ponytail or bun but otherwise it’s mostly down. His preferred fashion is shirts + cardigans. All the time. He likes the cardigans to have oversized sleeves or longer arms, just for a cozy factor. Even in summer he’ll wear long sleeves, although he’ll never say why.

is your muse affectionate? how much? how so?

Extremely affectionate. His way of showing love is acts of affection, and he’ll cling to anyone or tell anyone sweet words for them to even give him a minute of their time. This desire for affection is so strong it even drags into him sleeping with anyone too, and he really doesn’t see any issues with that either.

what position does your muse sleep in?

Stretched out across the bed taking up as much room as possible or cuddling in someone’s arms - no in-between.

could you hear your muse in the hallway from another room?

No. When he’s by himself he’s quiet. He’s always been quiet. Any of his usually humming or laughter is only shared in the company of others. A person wouldn’t even know if Hajime was home or not unless they went to look for him themselves.

Tsumugi Shirogane may be villainous, but I don’t recall a time she ever went back on her word. In order to achieve her goals, she needs the help of the Organization, and the people who are willing to lend her a hand. That’s why she makes contracts with them.

But she’s not going to be able to pass up someone as talented as you are, especially if you can help her duplicate the Hope serum.

...Right...And what do you plan on doing after all is said and done? Are you gonna stay with Zetsubou?

For a long time now, humans have been taught that if you try hard enough, you can accomplish anything. Even if we weren't told this directly, you'd know full well just by looking around us...The internet, TV and newspapers are overflowing with hopeful messages that say stuff exactly like that...

But people who don't win...people who don't TRY to win...people who try their best and still can't win...They are all worthless trash..."

The truth is, there are two kinds of people in this world...Those who are born with worth, and everyone else...

No matter how hard a lowly human tries, they will never be the same as someone who was born worthy...

They say that "effort breeds success" but...that's a complete falsehood. The world is not so accommodating, and it's foolish to think it would be.

No matter how hard a small dog tries, it will never become a large dog...No matter how hard a penguin flaps it's arms, it will never fly...And no matter how hard an unworthy human tries to become something greater...it will never happen...People with talent don't just become talented. They're just born with their abilities right from the start.

That's why I’ve always held so much respect for you all. And what I hold, just so you know, is far different from simple "admiration." To hold admiration for something is wishing that you could be just like it, but what I feel is not so self-serving... What I feel is...how should I put it...A pure, selfless love that wants nothing in return.

In fact, the only reason why I even allowed these...talents...in my body is so I could truly be on equal footing with a fake Ultimate like Hajime. If I could get rid of these, I would.

Because from Ultimate’s...From those with TALENT...That’s where the true Hope shines-

Fish aren’t in the sky. So it’s not a matter of “why can’t a penguin fly?”

It’s a matter of “why should a penguin fly?” What, because it’s a bird? It’s a bird, therefore it should fly?

Penguin’s don’t fly because they DON’T NEED TO. There is literally nothing for Penguin’s in the sky, or in other distant lands.

“Come now, don’t fall behind! I have something to show you all!” Mikado was excited to show off his AI that had been in the works for quite some time now.

“We’re followin, we’re followin. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen you this excited about something though.” He was glad his brother found something that could make him happy, at least enough to make him come out of his room.

“You need to slow down Mikado! Poor Iroha can’t keep up with us!” She let out a huff as she shouted at him. “Although, did we really have to come to this strange building to see it...”

“Seriously... couldn’t you have just shown us this at home? I was doing important things you know.” Nikei seemed a bit agitated to have been dragged away...

“I’m coming! I’m coming!” She was trailing quite the distance behind the four of them but at least she hasn’t lost sight of them.

“Of course not! This is a state of the art creation made by yours truly!” Seems the idea was getting way to far in Mikado’s head.

As the group reached the lab, Mikado went over to a computer screen and began tapping on it gently. “Wakey-wakey, it’s time to get up.”

The person the screen, began to open his eyes, he looked very similar to Mikado with few differences. Seeing the other people in the room was a change he wasn’t expecting. “Oh my! Welcome! It’s nice to meet you all!”

“You’ve made an AI..? Is there any reason why this one’s deemed special?” Nikei really didn’t seem interested but if Mikado made the remark before, there must be a reason.

“Of course there is! He is capable of feeling human emotion just like you and me! I got the help of Miss Mitsume to work on his AI and he’s finally done! Although... we still have some work to do, so if you want to stick around and talk with him, you’re free too.” Mikado wondered off deeper into the lab.

“And he’s off... Just like usual.” Hajime sighed, looking towards his siblings.

Iroha finally caught up to the group and when she saw the screen, she almost instantly became excited. “Hello! I’m Iroha, what’s your name?”

The AI almost looked shocked to see someone so small running in and when he went to answer her question, he felt a bit of sadness wash over him. “I’m afraid I don’t have a name... My creator hasn’t given me one..”

“Why don’t you give him a name dear, you love naming things.” Emma let out a little hum as she walked behind Iroha to play with her hair.

Iroha nodded and thought for a moment.”Oh! I have the perfect name! I’ll call you sunflower! Your hair is golden like one!” An artists interpretation becoming someones name...

Im quiet and reserved, i need yars to really trust somebody. I think personal space is most important to me, i dont like touch or inviting people to my house. I looove reading, especially french literature. I also enjoy watching old movies or anime, painting and taking photos. If its going about some positive traits Im loyal. It is easy for me to accept someone's flaws and I don't judge people, I analize their actions. From my negative traits i would choose my isolated tendencies, i often prefer to stay alone with my problems. Im insecure and often feel worthless. I It's hard for me to find a sense of my life

After reviewing the description that you gave me, I believe that you pair well with our favorite leading man, Yagami Light!

Like you, it can take some time for him to warm up and trust people. However, he won’t let you know right away that he won’t trust—if at all. Instead, he’ll be overwhelmingly polite and courteous towards you, making sure that you’re comfortable and that the relationship you have with him is progressing at the rate that you want. After all, he wants you to trust him and he’s quite patient with whatever relationship you want to pursue with him.

He appreciates the fact that you’re quiet and reserved. It’s a trait that he also has, although he is far more gregarious and friendly when the time is right. Expect to engage in parallel play for most bonding experiences once the both of you settle into your relationship. This may include, but is not limited to reading different books—you can read in French? please tell him more, he would like some insight on literature from the West—engaging in your different hobbies, or merely sitting in silence and enjoying each other’s presence.

Do you value your personal space? No problem! Light doesn’t appreciate when other people crowd around him, so he can relate. It gives him a sense of smug satisfaction that you look to him for comfort than only he can provide. When he’s feeling particularly cheerful and indulgent, he might give you a kiss on the forehead or place his hand on your lower back to guide you where he wants you to be.

What Light treasures you the most is loyalty. Once he gains your trust and when he realizes that not only you are loyal but you have also gained his trust, then he will freely make you his closest confidant. Since you’re not judgmental and judge based on actions, it will be very easy for him to tell you that he’s trying to cleanse the world and make it a better place. You better accept him for who he is or are you saying that you’re not loyal?

As for your tendencies to isolate yourself… Light won’t see that as a negative. Instead, he would definitely use that to his advantage, especially if he’s still part of the Kira Investigation. And you’re also insecure? He’ll prey on you, making sure that you only look to him for guidance and support when you need it most.

If, however, you live in a timeline where Light is actually a decent human being, then he would be more than happy to encourage you to seek help and to create a support system outside of himself. He’s not a student of psychology, but even he knows that people need each other to survive—you need others to stay sane. As for insecurities, he’ll help you overcome them in a manner that is encouraging, but almost condescending in a way.

Basically, the seeds of a toxic relationship are sown, especially if you happen to come across Light while he’s active as Kira. However, you can hope to gain some ground in this relationship if you maintain your independence and let Light know that you don’t fully approve of his actions. Who knows? You might end up surviving in the end?

Hell yeah, FMA au! This is brilliant though! Let's go Kisaragi Siblings! (Also I already prefer how you write Kokoro over LINJU, thank goodness.)

Also here are some ideas for who can be who in homunculi. (This is based more on the sins then the Canon fma characters)

Pride: Utsuro (as you said)

Sloth: Iroha (she is one of the few people that have sleeping sprite and sloth also means apathy or inaction. Not doing things either because you don't want to or don't care. With her trying to get others to do things before she does anything herself)

Greed: Emma (linked with her 'Wealth' trait from Void. Greed can also be fairly selfish sin. Doing things purely for yourself. Slightly why she spend time with Kokoro, (they could of had a very nice relationship, makes me sad). Not much to say on this one though.

Lust: Akane (NOW BEFORE YOU SYA ANYTHING. Lust is not only sexual but can just be a strong desire for something ("he lusts for power"). So Lust can mean 'strong desire'. And I think Akane has probably one of the biggest willpower in this group, willing to spend four months in a school waiting for a killing game, get memory wiped, and still come out on top. Also Sora (I know they are probably different characters but-) Sora was very determined when she wanted someone, which is a sort of reflection on Akane. She makes her own choices and can get what she wants.)

Gluttony: Hajime (ironic. But gluttony also means taking too much for one's own good, as taking to much food is bad, so is taking too much of anything. He was the first person to take a life (unless you count Mikado "killing" Rei) which I would say is taking too much. Doesn't link that much to his 'Health' besides a sort of irony)

Envy: Mikado (straight up just wanted Utsuro's power and was willing to kill 15 others to have something he didn't. He wanted to be human but not in a good way. I think this fits him)

Wrath: Nikei (this dude had a gun and was going to try and shoot everyone up in a fit of rage, yeah, also linked with his need for 'Power'. I was thinking of making this Mikado but Mikado isn't as much as an angry person.)

May fit sins, but may not fits the FMA characters.

This au is really fun! Sorry if the above is unnecessary. Just wanted to share some ideas since you weren't certain. You can change things obvi.

i was actually considering making iroha sloth and mikado envy but all of that makes me wonder "is one of them the fuhrer of amestris? nikei doesnt fit the bill for me and neither do the others" and the answer im coming up with is that they all control the government from the shadows like in canon fma but the fuhrer is basically just some guy whos easily manipulated to do their bidding just like other higher ups in central

also from all the homunculi i think wrath!nikei would have a similar role to canon greed? as in he betrays the group and gets killed but is brought back with his memories erased. yeah i see that especially since he got punished for betraying void in sdra2 (which was so fucking bullshit tbh)
