Etho doodles in which I let my inner dinosaur nerd take over 😔 and also have no idea how to shade

Get it cause he's old and washed up haha... ok but actual raptor Etho hybrid justification below cut

To be honest the main reason was because I really wanted a hybrid in the mix who wasn't some furry creature and a reptile or amphibian or smth instead. Etho still ended up feathered but whatever it's close enough! But for ACTUAL reasoning:

He does feel damn ancient, like an old deity of the mcyt space that no one can dislike. Dinosaurs are the same!! They're old but still thought of with great fascination and fondness, everyone loves dinosaurs...

Dinosaurs are ever so mysterious, as many advancements as we make there's still so much we don't know. Just as we know jackshit about mister Kakashi skin man. Also, there are so many incomplete skeletons out there. I didn't have a particular species in mind for Etho, because where's the mystery in that? He can be one of those 5% skeleton 95% speculation dinosaurs like this guy!! Missing jaw and all

"I'm a runner, not a protector" - so, a raptor, or more specifically the Dromaeosauridae family, which literally has "running/runner" in its name

But! I'm always a fan of stuff going against its nature, especially in this case! Etho states he's not a runner yet protects his allies rather fiercely even in total silence. Eg refusing to kill Cleo in SL or to give away Tango's location during the LimL manhunt, same for Grian in SL. He was a bit flaky in 3L I think? And he only started to have genuine care for allies in LL with Bdubs? Though he is still very much a runner in many cases like during the LL Wither fight. Research also strongly suggests that most if not all raptors were solitary hunters, and the way I see Etho (through my shamefully limited watchtime of his POVs...) he feels a lot like someone who ultimately only trusts himself at the start even if he's pleasant and allying with others, and doesn't seem to think he can carry his weight in groups though he doesn't voice this a lot. That's just how Etho is, very composed, but it feels like there's an insecurity there, showcased especially in SL but again I haven't seen almost any of his POVs in full so maybe I'm talking out of my ass!! Sorry ethogirls I'm only a sidegig ethogirl myself... But yeah tldr to me he gives off the vibe of an otherwise solitary animal struggling to find 100% sure footing in a pack. In whichever ways he does go against his nature, its not usually made a show of

At the mention of a raptor, a lot of people will probably think of the glamourized Jurassic Park Velociraptors. But those awesome guys from the movies are actually the size of chickens. In general though, dinosaurs tend to be a bit.. exaggerated in media, despite how inherently fascinating they already are. And I think it fits Etho because we all know how the Lifers seem to fear and mancrush on him when he's just some dork with perfect capability to become pathetic at a moment's notice. Still, he's a clearly skilled player and still respected without question Etho's not some killer machine like some people make dinosaurs out to be. He's just a fellow creature fulfilling his role in the ecosystem 👍

I swear I'm not turning all my Lifers into hybrids I'm not!! Still plenty normal humans in the mix I swear....... But Etho is such a radical dude, I really wanted to do something more for him. The whole Kitsune thing that I often see associated with him is really cool. I don't actually know the reasoning for it but I assume something something naruto, but also, him being this ancient mythical cryptid who people know so little about, you know? It makes SO much sense. So anyway I turned him into a dinosaur instead rawr

As a herbivore advocate I also considered stuff like the triceratops (known for how they protect themselves and their own) but nah the raptor symbolism...

Okay, okay, I've seen way too many tiktok about how every Soukoku shipper also ships SatoSugu and I just have to say it.

No, lmao.

You have to be reading the BSD manga and novels with your eyes closed to even compare the level of relationship between Dazai and Chuuya to Satoru and Suguru.

They aren't on the same level and SatoSugu is even lower than Shin Soukoku.

I'm very sorry that SatoSugu black and white stuff can't even compare to Akutagawa and Atsushi's black and white (Atsuhi literally has white hair with black strip and Akutagawa has black hair with white strips).

Sorry but Geto isn't Chuuya and Satoru isn't Dazai. Suguru didn't have the same impact that Chuuya's existence had on Dazai (or anything close).

"My one and only" isn't the same as Chuuya making Dazai's suic!dal ass give life a chance. And this was way before Dazai and Oda even met.

"I believed a man like you wouldn't kill bunch of my students" (when in JJK 0 Geto mutilated Maki, Panda and Toge, lucky them that Yuta knew Reverse Cursed Technique) isn't the same as everybody and their mother telling Chuuya about Dazai being dead but him still using Corruption that could very well kill Chuuya himself and everything around him if Dazai trully was dead). He believed Dazai was alive WITHOUT DAZAI EVEN CONSULTING HIM, They need no words to know (and trust) each other.

SatoSugu isn't the same as Soukoku when Dazai spent every second and every minute of last 7 years thinking and dreaming of how to kill Chuuya (as he tells Sigma).

Atsushi's "just the two of us" and Akutagawa's "is there a need for more" is more impacful than SatoSugu's tragedy. Sorry, not sorry, but in canon some people don't even care about Geto.

He is just some guy who just was... there...

And I like a lot of genoc!dal mass murderer bastards: Sukuna, Toji, Obito, Madara. Hell I like Naoya's misogynist ass more than Geto.

Speaking of Obito, my respect is always there with Kakashi who just found out that the idol he practically worshipped was in fact very much alive and had started the Shinobi World War 4 and he still didn't hesistate and went for a kill!!

What have Satoru been doing all these 10 or whatever years while Geto still had "excution" on his head? Who knows how many civillians he killed in those years.

Yeah, I know, I was ranting but even filtering satosugu stuff on tiktok don't stop the videos from popping up 😒

If you are a member of Akatsuki it might be a bit complicated to see your friends again if you are a nunkenin ( renegade ) so we'll put that aside

Honestly he trusts you, he knows that you are a strong kunoichi and that if there was any problem, which he doubts, he knows that you will manage like a boss

Except that the fact that he trusts you doesn't mean that he trusts the other jerks that you might meet on your way

After that, it doesn't stop him from walking around your house if you're late compared to the time you planned to come back

He sighs a lot while looking at the clock showing the late hour, he gets up leaving either his drawing or his reading on the side and starts to walk in circle in the living room sighing from time to time looking at the time when he passes again in front of the clock

He pulls lightly on his long straight hair, not knowing if he should let tie it up or untie it, thinking of all the bad things that could happen

Maybe he'll go outside discreetly just to check that everything is okay, but he'll stay away from you because he knows that if he doesn't, you'll feel his presence that you are so used to

On the other hand, he will never dare to pick you up earlier than expected or to put inappropriate pressure on your friends, boys or girls

He wants to give you this freedom, even if you stay out past 10 pm

Of course nothing stops him from texting you to ask if you're okay, if you're planning to stay longer or if you want him to pick you up if you're drunk or just feel like it

Because he would never mind taking care of you

If by some strange chance the events with Itachi and the Uchiha clan happened and he stayed in Konoha, or if you just lived in the village and never of this happened

He would have real anxiety about your safety in view of what he knows the village is capable of doing. An dif they were to do anything yo you their only excuse would be that you are with - one of the last - an Uchiha

So he would ask you to leave armed in case of trouble reminding you that he is always just a phone call or a scream away

Itachi would also have serious jealousy problems this time with your friends

Well yes because you grew up with Naruto, who considers you as his big sister and is therefore always physically close to you which tends to annoy your boyfriend

Or the fact that he always drags you into his group of friends and they are all different from him in every way, more open, funnier, more smiling and it makes him self-conscious

But there are worse than Naruto, and it's Kakashi and Gai who you spend most of your time with since Kurenai was pregnant the little time you spent with her was now given to your two friends, much to Itachi's dismay

His jaw always clenches at the mention of their names and he can't stop his eyes from rolling when you call Yamato, Tenzo

But after all you didn't do anything wrong he knew that you were faithful and that your friends were jerks - hey ! - but they were respectful

But all his stress and jealousy disappears when you come back with a smile on your face and the first thing you do is to kiss him and tell him how much you missed him and that you wanted him to be part of it

To your surprise, today he said that he'll gladly come on your next outing

You squeal with joy and jump into his arms - a bit like Kushina when she learns that Minato is going to become Hokage

Oh boy what did he just do, what did he get himself into

The next outing is clearly going to be something that will be remembered

I love this question, especially because of the concept of being a teammate, basically being the third member of team 7, since I think that another female character should have been the tri-lead and not Sakura (It's not that I dislike Sakura, in fact, I feel that she is a character with a lot of potential but undervalued by her author who only went out of her way to develop Sasuke. Sakura is a wasted potential like almost all the women in the series, which It makes me think that Kishi doesn't know how to write women… or he's lazy because they aren't Uchihas or Sasuke)

In fact, I am thinking in the future of making a fic with a team 7 made up of Sasuke, Naruto and Hinata, since they are the respective reincarnations of Indra, Asura and the descendant of Hamura, but that will be for another post

yandere Naruto Romantic Headcanons

Well, here I am going to develop Naruto in his early age, that is, Naruto from the first part of the series, it does not include shippuden, the last and I will pretend that Boruto does not exist (don't ask me questions about Boruto, I didn't see the series and I am not interested beyond the concept of Boruto's visual power but only because it would be a development of the byakugan not because I am interested in the character), so here we will see the child version of a twelve-year-old yandere Naruto (if I remember correctly, that's how old he was at that time) until he leaves the village with Jiraiya, keeping this in mind, let's continue

We all know the sad story of Naruto and how painful his childhood was, without parents, hated by the entire village, without friends and all that drama

The important thing is that from all that negligence and lack of human interaction, the need was born in him to attract attention in any way possible

basically what I want to say here is that he would turn yandere for literally anyone who pays him the slightest bit of attention and above all, this is key, who treats him well

I'm not talking about great charitable gestures or kindness, I'm talking about treating him with cordiality, basically the first principle of a decent human being (yes, that's how badly he's been treated)

He would trust you 100% if you approached and proposed to be his friend (let's remember part of a flashback in some filler chapter where he went into a dangerous forest to look for a kunai from an enemy ninja of the village just because some stupid and very bad-hearted children said that they would be his friends if he brought said weapon, basically sending him to die if it weren't for Iruka-sensei)

Another thing is that Naruto is tremendously obsessive, just look at how he behaves with his teammates, that will not compare to the obsession he developed with you.

and we must take into account, here Sakura does not exist in his head, you are the prettiest girl in the village and he has made his intentions very clear to you that in the future he wants to be your lover (boyfriend, in a innocent way since he is a kid)

He will not see mistakes or defects, he will fight with Sasuke or Kakashi if one of those two scolds you or disrespects you

he will not like your friends, not because he is jealous or that he thinks they are going to steal you from him, but it is more because of his insecurity and fear of being alone again, that is something you can repair If you make your friends also friends with him

He is clingy to the extreme but not very observant in the sense that he won't always remember your favorite color or food, but at least he remembers special dates.

your enemies are his enemies and he does hold grudges against people who hurt you

He will also see you as someone above him and everyone, he is like a worshiper (remember how he thought well of Sakura? It's the same but amplified) you are a being incapable of making mistakes in his eyes

His beloved's opinion is very important to him, so much so that it is above anyone else, above his teacher, Sasuke, Iruka, the ramen guy or even the Hokage.

At this stage he will be a little annoying, irritating and clingy, but nothing dangerous, a child in love, the most dangerous thing about his yandere side would come out later when his crush stops being childish.

When Sakura joined Sasuke's atonement journey, she didn't have an idea what really transpired between the Uchiha clan and the Konohagakure government. She didn't know why Itachi killed his clan. She didn't really understand why Sasuke wanted to destroy their village.

Sasuke: Stay here. I'll just pay a visit to Nii-san's grave.

Sakura: C-Can I come with you, Sasuke-kun? If-If that's alright..

Sasuke: *nods* Okay.

As they were walking..

Sakura: S-Sasuke-kun.. I thought you hated your brother. I'm glad you've forgiven him. *picks flowers along the way*

Sasuke: Yeah. I still regret not finding out sooner. I should've forgiven him before he died.

Sakura: Finding out what?

Sasuke: His reason for killing our parents.. Our clanmates..

Sakura: Oh.. *wants to ask further but hesitates*

Sasuke: *notices* You know right? What he did..?

Sakura: Um.. Not really— You don't need to tell me—

Sasuke: You don't know?

Sakura: *embarrassed* No.. Sorry..

Sasuke: No need to be sorry. I thought you knew because Naruto and Kakashi are aware of it..

Sakura: /thinks/ Yeah.. I guess I'm not significant enough to know.. It's okay.. It's a classified information, so that's probably why they kept it from me.

Sasuke: I honestly think they should've told you..

Sakura: It's.. Alright.. *smiles* Thanks for that.

Sasuke: You see.. My brother worked as a double agent. He knew that the Uchiha was plotting a coup d'etat. He wanted to prevent a revolution that would cause a war between the villages, so he reported it to the Third Hokage. You probably know what they instructed him to do.

Sakura: *gasps* Itachi killed your clan to protect the Hidden Leaf?

Sasuke: Yeah.. It was his mission. He spared me because.. Because..

Sakura: He loved you far too much?

Sasuke: I guess.. But I think he should have killed me too.

Sakura: Don't say that, Sasuke-kun!

Sasuke: *sighs* And even after that, he was still a double agent for Konoha. He joined Akatsuki to be a spy.

Sakura: Th-That's a lot for someone even as strong as Itachi.. *picks more flowers*

Sasuke: *notices and stops walking* I agree. I learned all of this from Tobi. I couldn't believe him at first. I hated my brother with every fiber of my being.. I couldn't accept the fact that the man I hated almost all my life was just being.. Selfless. I felt so angry and stupid for believing what others were telling me.

Sakura: *rubs his back* Sasuke-kun..

Sasuke: I'm not sure if that justifies my anger against Konoha and its leaders, especially Danzo, a couple of years ago.. But.. That was my main motivation. Itachi suffered so much for the village.. For its leaders that used him. Then there I was.. Helpless.

Sakura: Sasuke-kun.. You suffered so much too.. Don't be hard on yourself..

Sasuke: It could've been different, Sakura. If they made better choices, it could've been different.

Sakura: *nods* Yes..

Sasuke: My whole life revolved around hating my only family who loved and cared for me truly. I still hate myself for wasting my time trying to take revenge against him.

Sakura: But you didn't know! They also withheld that information from you. It was not your fault, Sasuke-kun..

They reached the site. Sakura made a bouquet from her collected flowers and placed it down. They both paid their respects and inspected the grave site.

Sasuke: *stares at the grave* Nii-san. This is Sakura..

Sakura: *surprised; blushes*

Sasuke: You've met her before, right? She made this bouquet for you..

Sakura: *bows again*

Sasuke: We'll go ahead. Guide me always, Nii-san.

They left the site and headed out to their next destination.

Sasuke: Sakura.. So, you joined me without knowing why I did my crimes? Without knowing the reason behind my clan's massacre?

Sakura: *taken aback* Yes.. It's really embarrassing.. Sorry.. I was ignorant.

Sasuke: Not at all. They kept it secret from you.. And yet.. You still trusted me.

Sakura: Sasuke-kun!

Sasuke: Thank you, Sakura. *smiles softly*

Sakura: *smiles* You don't have to thank me.. You know I've always wanted to join you..

Sasuke: You know.. My mom was also like that.. She helped me without really knowing why I wanted to do things.

Sakura: Really? Tell me more about your mom, Sasuke-kun.

Sasuke: Yeah.. They said we looked almost the same.

Sakura: Aww, I can imagine she's really beautiful like you— *panics* I mean– She's an Uchiha, of course she's pretty—

Sasuke: *laughs* You two are quite similar..

Sakura: Sasuke-kun?

Sasuke: *looks at Sakura and sees Mikoto in her* Yeah.. Very similar..

Sakura: Tell me more about your clan! W-Well if that's okay..

Sasuke: Gladly..

The two continued with their journey. Sasuke introduced every single person from his clan —their friends, their neighbors, the people in their community, everyone.

Sakura had never seen him talk with such enthusiasm. She was just happy listening to him and trying to remember all the details.

Sasuke: Sorry, that's too much information.

Sakura: No, I really appreciate that you talked about them..

Sasuke: Yeah.. Thanks for listening, Sakura.

Sakura: No.. Thank you, Sasuke-kun.

Sasuke: *whispers* Of course.. You should know your soon-to-be clan.

Sakura: Sasuke-kun? Are you saying something?

Hatake Kakashi Headcanons with Rai

Rai is my Original Character, or OC. She was made back in 2003 and has evolved to this day.

I originally had a different story going about her, but it became too complicated and long. So I decided to shorten it.

Anyways here are some headcanons of Kakashi with Rai.

For context, Rai is a female wolf demon that has a main form as a human. Her rank is ANBU.

General

When dating, going out to get something to eat, or tea. They try to keep everything low key.

Just staying over night and sleeping in bed with each other means so much.

He will disappear to Rai's apartment to avoid responsibilities for a while. He uses this time to decompress. It's his place he can relax.

He has gone to her place, while she was on a mission, just to sleep in her bed so he could relax. Rai allows him to stay whenever he wants.

He will perch in a high area just to watch Rai for a bit.

Seeing her, even from afar, helps to give him a boost to finish his job.

He is protective of Rai and hates when people bully her. Simply by stepping up next to her and diverting the attention to him. But Rai will take physical attacks for him.

He loves spending time with her, just being around her. Even if they are just silent and sitting somewhere.

He is her protector, her guardian. And she is his protector. He knows she is powerful and could kill him. But she doesn't. She is his backup plan in case he falls during battle.

Favorite pastime is to read and nap by the lake beneath a tree, preferably on her lap.

Both are each other's scary dog privilege. Rai to keep others away and keep things nice and quiet around him. Kakashi to keep others from bullying Rai.

He gets a little more distant when Rai is away on a mission. He doesn't pay attention to his book and winds up day dreaming.

He loves it when she comes to his place after she gets cleaned up and changed. But he REALLY loves it when she is so exhausted that she goes to his place anyways, despite her being covered in blood.

They both take turns cooking. She's not the best, but she tries. And she gets better. She actually masters his favorite dish.

He ADORES Rai's wolf form.

Did not tell Rai about Sukea, but Rai quickly found out after he took a photo of her and his scent hit her. She played it off.

Rai HATES it when he smokes. He knows it and actually quits smoking while they date.

When he has night terrors, Rai holds him. She has gotten hit and kicked out of bed. Not his fault. Him laying on her chest, listening to her breathing and heartbeat sometimes works, but it can also stress him out. But her laying on him really does the trick.

He is honored by Rai’s loyalty.

He isn't a jealous person. He trusts her and her loyalty.

Kakashi loves and respects Rai.

Rai loves and respects him.

He has gotten used to some of Rai's demonic presence, not all of it. Only about ⅓ of it.

Was in the presence of her full demon form. He felt like she knew him and wouldn't hurt him. This was when she was bound and chained by “peacekeepers” or demon hunters.

The other time he felt her presence was the war. She told him to run. And he did. He took Gai and went as far as he could.

Loves seeing her in his sweater.

Because of Rai, he knows a ton about demons and dark chakra. He is the go to for handling and dealing with demons, despite Rai being a demon herself.

He knows Rai doesn't have a big social battery and a small friend group. If he ever sees her out in public, she may be stressed. He will step beside her for support. Especially if he sees she may be shutting down.

Falls asleep on her shoulder and lap a lot.

Affection

Surprises her by getting her flowers, especially with her favorite peonies in them. He knows she isn't a material person, but it is nice every so often to show her he appreciates and loves her.

He will get her the next book in the series she likes.

He will also stop by her favorite restaurant to get her favorite food for dinner every once in a while.

He allows her to initiate, she sets the tempo.

He loves lounging on the couch with her on his chest.

He loves patting her head and praising her. He swears he sees a fluffy tail wag when he does this.

He loves being the big spoon.

He leads and holds her hand when crowds are in the street and they need to get through.

Will kiss her through his mask.

Will slip his mask down to place a kiss on her cheek or lips quickly.

Loves to kiss her temple, head, or cheek when he can.

Loves when she leans up to place a quick peck on his cheek.

Loves to go on walks with her. They don't need to hold hands but it is a bonus.

Loves holding her from behind. Burying his nose in her shoulder and neck.

Rare PDA is hand holding. Even rarer is when he will place a kiss on her cheek or temple.

Melts when she runs her fingers through his hair.

Basically, he loves her and will do just about anything for her. And vice versa.

These are just some of the brain rot I have in my head for these two.

hey, nonnie, thank you for the request! Playing around with the witch concept was a lot of fun, so I do hope you like the following headcanons :)

Itachi

let’s assume first that you, too, are a member of Akatsuki

while Itachi did respect you as a new member of the organization, at first, he didn’t know the reason why you joined

you and your abilities were so enigmatic, he didn’t know anything about either

at one point, the two of you began growing closer and eventually even started a romantic relationship

that is also when the two of you teamed up for a few missions for Akatsuki

Itachi first saw a hint of your abilities when it was time for the two of you to stop Team Kakashi & Chiyo from getting to Gaara

for a reason he couldn’t explain, you could foresee all of Kakashi’s movements and dodged them perfectly

he himself could do this quite well, but only due to his Sharingan, which you obviously didn’t have

the real kicker was when you summoned a spirit to act as a child from Naruto’s rasengan

Itachi’s clone was really confused, he had never seen an ability such as yours before

at the same time, it did finally make sense why the leader of Akatsuki had insisted upon him using a clone to trick the Konoha Shinobi, but also insisting that your real self would accompany said clone

upon arriving back in the Akatsuki hideout, there were a lot of questions running through his mind, alongside a lot of answers to them

the easiest thing was to confront you, really

when you told him everything, he listened intently and connected the dots

everything made sense to him now, despite his initial confusion

Itachi always knew that you could defend yourself, but now he doubted that even less

one question would always remain on his mind, however, could you see his death coming? did you know about his illness? would his little brother Sasuke be the one to kill him?

in the end, he would never get to ask that

Kakashi

you didn’t mean to reveal your identity as a witch to him like that, it just happened

you really couldn’t have chosen a worse moment, looking back on it

after a long time of dating, Kakashi finally opened up to you about his childhood and his past

while he sometimes had begun talking about it, he often cut himself off and then promised to tell you later

so you thought it was an important moment and milestone in your relationship, a show that he trusted you

so your mind was solely focused on his past, which you kind of already knew (not that you would mention that to him)

of course, you were well aware of the rumors and murmurs running through Konoha, about how he was supposedly a ‘friend-killer’ and a cold person

but you also knew things only Kakashi should know, such as things about his relationship with his father and how he dealt with the death of the man

you shouldn’t know such private things about him before he told you them, but you found them out with your abilities by accident

one of the times he cut himself off, his past got unraveled to you, unbeknownst to him and ever since that you’ve felt very guilty about that

so now that Kakashi was going to tell you himself, all you had to do was pretend to not know this already and act surprised, and then of course comfort him if needed

and everything goes right at first, you do your part as the doting partner and are there for him when necessary

that is until he tells you something, and you blurt out “I know”

Kakashi is just so confused by that point, poor him because what do you mean? You know?? huh

you are just panicking by now because you did not mean for that to slip out, and now you have to tell him everything

at first, he is upset about that invasion of privacy, understandably so

you then go ahead and explain to him how it had been an accident and you didn’t mean to, that you didn’t want to find that out about him like that, but rather through him when he decided to tell you

the two of you do manage to talk everything out, but it does take time to rebuild that trust

and you do need to give Kakashi that time to fully trust you again, because while he does know that it had been an accident, he sometimes still has his qualms you need to respect

after some time, however, your relationship is as strong as ever, as long as you respect his privacy with your witch abilities, that is

Neji

the first time you showed a hint of your power to Neji was when you told him to fight against what he considered to be his fate, that he shouldn’t allow it to be predetermined

somewhat, you reminded him of Naruto during the Chuunin exams

this time around, however, he was a bit more open to listen

you are his partner, after all, you only want the best for him, which meant that you bothered him time and time again, so he would just listen to you

just before the beginning of the Fourth Shinobi war, you know that he is going to die soon due to his predetermined fate

you wouldn’t let him, however

because why would you allow your significant other to die?

your last resort was telling him about your powers, about what you are able to do

you tell him everything, and I mean everything, all at once

it does overwhelm him, especially when you tell him he is going to die soon

Neji had been confronted with death often enough already, but his own death?

by this point you were begging him to listen to you and to hear you out

and he does, he does hear you out because if you didn’t mean it, you wouldn’t get hysterical like that

he ends up believing you after you describe his death to him in great detail

he’s also a bit miffed because you didn’t tell him about you being a witch sooner, you kept that a secret from him

Neji does come around again when the two of you are sent to fight in the war, and he makes sure that you both make it out alive

thanks to your premonition, you do

Shikamaru

Shikamaru finding out about your identity as a witch had been an accident

the two of you get assigned a mission together, something about a ghost haunting in an ancient home

you are very confident in completing the mission due to your ability to communicate with spirits, something Shikamaru immediately notices

he doesn’t say anything at first and just keeps an eye on you and your swift change in mood

aside from Naruto, Shikamaru has never seen anyone that delighted to go on a special type of mission, although he would doubt that even the energetic blond would be excited about ghost stories

anyway, so the two of you arrive there to investigate the mystery

and in the beginning, everything does go smoothly

until the two of you arrive at a dead end

while Shikamaru is able to roll off his growing frustration, you, on the other hand, are not and search for another way to get to more information

what you did not consider however had been that Shikamaru did not know that you could talk to spirits, so when you suddenly started talking with nothing, he was bewildered

(for a moment he did think you were going crazy from this mission, but for that he wouldn’t blame you)

and when he asked what you were doing you just froze, like, mid-conversation

as a doe in the Nara forest would stare at him, so did you

while he did think that you looked adorable, he was quite concerned about you not breathing

when you did finally breathe again, his first question was to ask what you were doing, because obviously, he still did not know about you being able to talk to spirits

Shikamaru could only nod along as you explained your powers and abilities to him, and how they worked

at first, he was unsure of what to say but did listen intently, making sure not to miss a detail

and then, as though nothing major happened, he asked what the spirit from before told you

as fireworks lit up the sky, so did your smile as you began to tell him all about what the spirit said

and the two of you completed the mission successfully, it couldn’t have gone better, really

of course neither of you go ahead and inform the Hokage of how you solved the mission, but you do write a promising mission report

let’s just say it is a secret that remains between the two of you and the two of you only

he keeps it with his life, just as he plans on keeping you in his life

Sasuke

for this, I imagine you being part of Team Taka, a rogue ninja from a village other than Konoha

you joined Sasuke’s team alongside Karin, since you also were one of the Ninja taking care of his hideouts

Sasuke thought, based on how highly Orochimaru sometimes spoke of you and how much the snake man wanted you to stay in a hideout, you must either be really important or strong

when it was time to escape, you went along with Sasuke, viewing him to be the better option in comparison to Orochimaru

as part of Team Taka, you never really did reveal your abilities as a witch

maybe it was the fear of being used just like Orochimaru used you, or it was something else holding you back

that was all at least until Sasuke decided to storm the Gokage meeting and go after the not-inaugurated Hokage, Danzo

for the self-appointed mission, both you and Karin had come along to help Sasuke enact revenge on the man

once you do arrive at the bridge in the Land of Grass, everything just seems to get out of hand and go wrong

you’re really surprised once this Konoha girl comes along and tries to kill Sasuke and then Sasuke almost kills Karin in return

what you should have expected, but didn’t, was that Danzo would also use you as a tool to get to Sasuke

your last solution to this had been to summon a spirit to protect you, acting as a shield for your safety

while that meant that you were now safe, it also meant that Sasuke just learned something new about you, a revelation

it had also been you who warned him about his old Team from Konoha appearing, his sensei and his old teammate, and Tobi from Akatsuki

even more surprised for him, you could say

so it had been no wonder that once you reached safety, Sasuke questioned you all about your abilities and your identity

and with questioned, I mean it was almost like an interrogation

you had no choice but to tell him, or otherwise, you would no longer be part of Team Taka

it was a no-brainer for you to tell him everything, down to the last detail

lying to him or hiding any details from him would be very stupid of you, so you knew

it isn’t until after the war that Sasuke realizes how he used your abilities for his own success

in his own way and pace, he comes along to apologize to you

in the end, how the reveal affects your relationship is up to you, and your reaction to his apology

Sasuke isn’t selfish, you knew that when you first met him, but during the times of Team Taka he was very revenge focused and oriented

but then again, your abilities as a witch may be powerful, but that does not mean that they are endless and don’t drain you, because they impact you as a person too

so, again, it is up to you how your relationship turns out

So if you want a real answer for went wrong in Boruto let me explain.

Boruto is pretty much written by people who really don't like Naruto as a series because it goes out of its way to shit on the Naruto series (taking away Naruto and Sasuke's power-ups at the first chance which basically reverted them to beginning of Naruto, Naruto and Sasuke). The editor for Boruto is apparently a simp for Sadara. They just really don't like Naruto as a series because:

He's apparently just a missing dad but you probably knew this already.

Absolutely no respect for Naruto characters whatsoever.

They hate ninjas because everything is now aliens and machinery in Boruto. Also, a lot of retconning Naruto stuff to be oh aliens are the reason this exists.

Orochimaru is just there and no one remembers he's not to be trusted.

There's apparently a dimension where one of the villains just has multiple ten-tails clones in there and its weird.

So yeah... I don't even want to know what the fuck happened. The kicker is that Kishimoto, from what I've heard has not been that active in Boruto. His editor pretty much runs the show is what I have heard a lot.

The most I've seen of Boruto was the movie, where Naruto being an absent parent was solved because Boruto just didn't realise how cool his dad was... I think. I just kinda left that movie gobsmacked. Don't you see how cool your dad is Boruto. And also 'jutsu in a can' is illegal in the Chuunin exams for some reason? Literally why, they're a tool you can use...

Thanks for the response, I appreciate the insight. I can see how some of these problems might have come around, like trying to balance Naruto and Sasuke's absolutely absurd power levels against literally any kind of threat, or coming up with an enemy for Konoha to fight that wouldn't leave a black mark on Naruto's reign as Hokage... and the inherent issue of 'no one is watching this for the new characters, they want to see the old ones, but this isn't about them' you'll inevitably get with a next-gen sequel.

No one watched Boruto the movie for Boruto. No one.

But like... why make a next-gen sequel for Naruto of all series? I get why from a 'we want money' sense, but I feel they could've just animated the light novels or fillers into eternity and people would've been happier with those.

"Here's 40 episodes of Kakashi and Itachi in ANBU" or something, I don't know. I'd watch 10 episodes of Sasori's descent into absolute madness.

Maybe the reason they went "ALIENS" is because of Kishimoto's failed sci-fi manga? But it's weird he's hands off given I thought he took over the manga from someone else...

Btw, to add onto what the anon that sent the I gave up on Boruto ask, its a bigger problem than it being the typical female characters don't matter still in Boruto. Its that no one matters in Boruto except Boruto and Kiwaki. Everyone else just gets shit on. Like imagine the old Naruto is x fanfics but actually made real. That's Boruto. He's got everything and he's the bestest and specialest boy.

:/ That sucks. Why bother forcing so many pairings to produce kids if you don't even wanna use 'em. Sasuke didn't deserve this. But also, how are you simultaneously a simp for Sarada and don't really use her? Just shove her in stupid outfits and call it a day...?

I still don't know anything about Kawaki!? He's a moon boy too, right? It feels so weird to neglect the rest of Boruto's team, though. What's the point.

Boruto does really feel like an edgy OC. He's got Byakugan+1 AND Sasuke is his teacher... honestly, Sasuke as a mentor to Naruto's kid is cute in theory, except for the part where he's also a deadbeat dad to a whole other child (his own).

I couldn't help reading TBV thinking "...why didn't they just do this kind of plot with Naruto himself or something". Though I guess they kind of? Did? With Road To Ninja? The opposite direction?

Btw, unless I'm mistaken I don't think Naruto actually forgave Orochimaru. I think he just forgot because Kishimoto forgot about a lot of what happened in part 1 of Naruto except Sasuke imo.

Do you have any opinions on Sasori/Itachi as a... I hesitate to say couple, because of their respective personalities, but as a sexual duo I guess. IDK what the cause of their hooking up would be, but I'm sure you could come up with something

TBH I have a hard time wrapping my head around this ship because I don't really see either as particularly interested in sex. Sasori does have interest in exerting control over other people's bodies, so I can buy him being interested in a very particular type of sex (the type where he is in charge ;) ) as a replacement for his preferred type of art. I just... can't really see Itachi going with it?

This is a lot of extrapolation/my own headcanons, but I think Itachi is very into the idea of romance over sex. In his personal fantasies, he gets his world where he can sit back and be a pacifist... and then what? He grew up heir to an important clan, and so I think he internalized a lot of ideas about getting married and having kids, but also he spent his teenage years as a missing-nin so I think his ideas about marriage were allowed to simmer as a weird little fantasy without ever having to confront what marriage might look like from the inside. So he wants a partner for some very bland generic romance, where the sex part is secondary for him because that's for having kids.

Now, that is what I think Itachi thinks he wants, not what he necessary would actually want/need if he got his romantic partner. For most ships I like with Itachi, the sex is a result of the other party going "well, I like it; it'll be fun and feel good" and he's like "okay. :)" I think he'd probably like feeling close to his partner. But I have a hard time seeing him wanting sex for the sake of sex? Meanwhile Sasori is the opposite-- it think it'd be easier to have him fixate on someone and then want to peel their skin off and then scale it back to "okay, sex then," than a romance.

I can kind of see Itachi seeking out a sexual partner just to see what it's about, I just can't wrap my head around why he'd go to Sasori for this. On the flip side I can see Sasori fixating on someone and having that mellow into something LIKE a romance because he likes them, I just... don't see what he'd enjoy about Itachi's company. LMAO

I kind of played with the idea of "what if Itachi likes turning his brain off while Sasori does all the work" (which is how I wrote Sasori/Kakashi) but I think Itachi is such a control freak that he would need a lot of established trust to not just like. Panic? At the loss of control. And a panicked Itachi is a mean, violent Itachi. :(

Here are two options maybe I guess....

Sasori gets fixated on Itachi for Aesthetic reasons. He can't beat Itachi in a fight so he just ends up sort of following him around and insulting him. Itachi goes, "Oh, he's flirting" and THAT'S why he goes to him when he has An Itch To Scratch. (Neither them try hooking up a second time because it goes. Poorly. Bad communication all around.)

Itachi ends up going to Sasori for Lung Reasons. Sasori keeps complaining he's NOT a pharmacy and he's definitely not a doctor. But it is an excuse for them to talk one-on-one, and for Itachi to decide he does kind of trust Sasori and for Sasori to decide yeah maybe he CAN'T murder Itachi but wouldn't it be nice if--- Anyway, Sasori keeps being like "I would prefer if you just laid down and didn't move" and Itachi AGREES but then he panics halfway through and uno-reverse-cards and Sasori is SCREAMING. Why are you like this??? (They hook up multiple times because both are convinced they can make this work if the other one would just stop being Insane.)

Kakashi Shipping Musings

Tbh I'm pretty neutral/more of a multi-shipper about Kakashi's ships nowadays, but I do think it's interesting to see how many of the ships have the potential to provide different things for Kakashi.

"Jezz, what the hell are you talking about this time?"

Bear with me here, but well, Kakashi has more ships than I can count at this point, SO! Just to mention some examples:

First up we have Gai, who is Kakashi's constant. Kakashi's other side of the coin who never gave up on him. They've known each other since childhood, with all that entails, and I'd argue that Gai is likely the person who (in canon) knows Kakashi the best out of everyone - including past Obito and Rin. Gai has seen and BEEN with Kakashi at his absolute worst, but also seen and been there as Kakashi slowly worked through it all and came out alive on the other side. Gai might call Kakashi his rival, but it's obvious they're best friends, and they completely trusts each other to 120%.

Secondly we have Iruka, who I'd argue is perfect as Kakashi's grounding. The one who takes Kakashi down a peg or two when needed. Iruka has both called Kakashi out on his bullshit in the past and continues to do so as well, but it's still obvious they respect each other a great deal. Naruto is obviously something that connects them, but from the little I've watched the Boruto series it's obvious Kakashi and Iruka are also portrayed them as friends on their own.

(Which is honestly a great foundation of any relationship - start as friends before you see if you also want something else out of it. After all, why choose between getting a friend or a partner when you can get both in the same person?).

My last example is Kurenai. There's something bittersweet there, but I do think she and Kakashi could make a great couple. Something sweet, and in a sense a... calm lull of love? Especially compared to the other ones he's shipped with. Anyway, Kurenai lost her partner and father of their child when Asuma died, and Kakashi lost one of his good friends. But they made it through. They still live. Kurenai also has a bunch of moments where she shows pretty good insight into Kakashi's thoughts, and there's a lot of understanding between the two of them. I guess my bottom-line is that I see some great potential in a relationship between Kakashi and Kurenai. Additional bonus is that the thought of Kakashi accidentally becoming the bonus dad/older uncle-figure to Mirai is kind of funny, because he probably thought he was done with raising children in any capacity after the mess that was Team 7 (which honestly wasn't his fault). Like sure, Kakashi will do it and he loves the child (Mirai), but he sure as heck didn't plan for this. x'D

There's obviously a lot of ships out there for Kakashi (such as with Yamato, Rin and Obito just to mention another 3), but my point is that different ships with Kakashi provides very different vibes of what they'd do and provide for Kakashi. None of them are wrong or better than the other(s), but I find them interesting to keep in mind.

Though Idk. Maybe my 4am musings won't make sense to anyone else. x)

Okay so i was thinking about the hope au and I have to say that Shisui's dynamic with Kakashi in this fic series holds a special in my heart (maybe bc they're some of my favorites lol). I adore the whole squad but there's just something about their dynamic to me. Like the respect for each other's emotional and physical boundaries, the small but profound shows of support, the quiet comfort with each other, communicating through body language, just the genuine respect/protectiveness/trust in each other!

Shisui learning some of the Hatake behaviors to the point of using them to better communicate/understand Kakashi (my favorite moments), they way they can understand each other silently or through doublespeak- having entirely different conversations than what's spoken out loud, Shisui looking up to Kakashi and for his approval but not idolizing him, Shisui feeling comfortable teasing him, Kakashi allowing physical contact bc it means a lot to Shisui and Shisui letting him be the one to initiate it most times bc he's aware of Kakashi's issues with it, Shisui pretending to not notice moments of vulnerability because it makes Kakashi uncomfortable, Kakashi silently digging up information (the tracking mission, training with Gai, etc) and Shisui being entirely aware of it, Shisui refusing to leave Anbu before Kakashi and saying it directly to the Hokage, Kakashi being protective when Tiger confronted Shisui about Parrot, Shisui telling Kakashi the truth about his father even though he was concerned about the consequences because he felt he deserved the truth, Kakashi being worried about possibly losing a pack member and Shisui making sure he knew he wasn't leaving the squad, Kakashi walking Shisui to the anbu dorms and quietly sitting in his room bc he and the others knew Shisui shouldn't be alone at that moment, etc

Also just- side note I'd love to hear more about your ideas for Hatake clan culture and how it effected Kakashi growing up and his relationships with other characters

It's just... I see them like two legends, bruised and noble and aching and so incredibly competent it makes me a bit emotional tbh like... The bamf energy isn't "omg!!!! Power!!!!" It's "you guys... you're glowing 🥹" and I think that it's even more special that they can depend on each other- not only in a fight, but as a place of rest. Like "sit down, close your eyes, breathe... I'll hold the line." 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

Kakashi and Shisui make me so emosh

Hatake Clan stuff is just *insert* [REGAL] [FERAL] [SAD] [GORGEOUS] [TEETH] [WHUMP] [GROWL] [SCARY] and i never get tired of Kakashi micro-expression and body-language-ing all over the place whilst Shisui (and, to a slightly lesser degree, SQ2+Gai) are like "yes yes tell me more yes i agree-" and everyone else is like 👀?? Tf

Pirate Au!!!

Kakashi joined Tsunade’s ship when he was only five years old, shortly after his father was murdered by the very people he was working for and was supposed to trust (Sakumo was a navel captain and one of the best at dealing with pirates)

Tsunade and Sakumo had a rocky but interesting friendship over the years of him chasing after her and trying to put a stop to her activities. A large reason for this is because Sakumo’s wife Yua was actually Tsunade’s second in command before risking capture to help Tsunade escaped. Yua should have been arrested (and damn did the higher ups fight for it) but Sakumo felt like he wanted to help her so he fought for her. Somehow he got her released into his ‘care’ and while the two were stuck spending almost every hour of every day together they fell in love.

The higher ups were not happy about this, but they weren’t in a position to give up someone like Sakumo or ruin his reputation, and to their relief Yua died shortly after Kakashi was born in a home invasion (it’s later that Sakumo finds out it was someone within the navy who orchestrated it and had his wife murdered, which ultimately leads to his downfall). In marrying Yua Sakumo had a whole background made up for her with a well off family and a lot of respect to her name, just from a diffrent area so no one could prove this information was wrong. Thus, Hatake Yua was born and Yua’s past was washed away in favour of creating a ‘proper’ image of her that could marry Sakumo without issue

It’s long and complicated, but even though Sakumo and Tsunade were enemies by nature they were friends because of Yua and had a certain respect for each other. As such, when word got out about Sakumo’s death Tsunade set sail for his home town.

Her goals were 1) visit his grave 2) locate his and Yua’s son and get him the heck out of there

It took her a lot of digging and a wee bit of torture, but she found Kakashi in a crummy little orphanage and stole him away with promises that he would have a better life with her.

Kakashi grew up on the sea from then on and loves every minute. He excelled at navigation, was one of Yua’s best negotiators as he got older, and was almost as impressive as his mother with a sword (though a lot more flashy with the movements which seemed out of character because Kakashi usually isn’t flashy, but he sure loves to twirl a sword for no good reason)

Kakashi also has a bad habit of adopting dogs whenever the ship is anchored and Tsunade quickly begins to wonder if she’s going to have to give him a maximum number of dogs allowed on the ship (the answer is yes. She caps it at eight because Bull is giant and she cannot have more)

Not to be rude and I love your art but... why would you ship kakashi and sakura?? Even if you only ship them when they're both adults, kakashi would never date someone that he literally watched grow up. when they met, sakura was 12 and kakashi was nearly 30... see the problem? even as adults the age gap is still huge and it's kinda creepy for a former teacher and student to date or have sex because those dynamics are still there even in adulthood. besides, sakura had a very deep love for sasuke so i doubt she'd ever get over him if they broke up, and due to his past i don't think kakashi would let himself fall in love, much less with a student. she even still calls him 'sensei' when they're older. it's just weird and kakashi's not a pedo.

Anyways I didn't mean to rant, I mean no hate at all and once again I really love your art especially the kakashi/tsunade ones! have a nice day :)

I find age gaps absolutely normal. My partner is 10+ years older than me, same goes for my parents and other people who are important for me. Older partner does not equate abuse or overpower (if person is a jerk he will be a jerk no matter the age). Difference - yes, but, in my experience, in a good, interesting way and with more respect towards each other. So as long as it's two consentual adults - it's none of my business, both in fiction and irl.

Sakura grew up, she is an independent, strong woman. Not a kid, not his student. And this is when I ship them. And they definitely had to accept this.

To me her love to Sasuke is not a "real love" based on mutual trust and respect. It's a "first love" that was very bright, chaotic, memorable, but it was meant to burn, because Sakura gave everything and got nothing in return . So it took a lot of time for Sakura to stop being blinded by her feelings, to get rid of maximalism and heal the wounds.

(P.S. I will not dwelve into Sasuke's role here and how he also needs a lot of help. But I don't see this help coming from Sakura for sake of her well-being.)

what has sakura been up to post 4th war. again, these are all my personal headcanons and details are subject to change with each respective rp partner(s) i am interacting with !

# — due the villages aspiring for a more diplomatic connection, sakura hops from village to village to assist in tending to the wounded — or what’s left of them. she organises a nation-wide standardisation on how to deal, clean, assess, and manage hospitals and/or clinics all around. it takes her a while, i can imagine she’s gone from eight months to a year ( on and off ) before she fully returns and resides back in konoha.

#— i know canon fast-forwards a lot of stuff, but i imagine the preparation for kakashi's inauguration as the sixth wasn’t as quick. so during the few months of stabilisation wherein the leaf is still under the fifth, sakura is diagnosed with “battle fatigue” ( another name for PTSD because they didn’t have a proper name for it during this time ) by tsunade, and was prescribed medication.

# — in my interpretation, she’s clinically depressed. she changes her medication ( at this point, she self-medicates since she notices the medicine prescribed by tsunade wasn’t working ) after reading some research on it — there isn’t much, she has to go through archives — about a year in, by concocting the pills herself. she did enlist some help, mostly botanist experts, pharmacists, possibly a form of psychologist or therapist (which were rare, and i can imagine coming from another village) and trusted a colleague leading or assisting on the research about her progress. this way, she avoids overdosing. no, she doesn’t tell her friends about the diagnosis nor the medication. her parents are aware of this, however.

# — some of the symptoms she would've shown: a feeling of restlessness, excessive guilt, experiences extreme fatigue ( that she mistakens simply because she does not sleep well ) which can cause her to sleep at random hours. she also becomes unresponsive and experiences lack of interest in normal and/or everyday routine i.e. when ino asks her to hang out and she just seems mentally absent. for a while before her diagnosis, sakura never cleans her bedroom. she doesn't think much of it since she isn't there a lot anyhow except to sleep, and she doesn't care to. it'll take her a while to really look back and understand that that's not laziness.

# — this is just a light-hearted headcanon but, sakura’s mental health improves around her family so, so much. she loves going to her grandfather’s ancestral home near the woods and just spend time with her brother, his family, and her parents. sometimes her civilian extended family joins. she actually doesn’t like them asking nosily about her “shinobi life”, but other than that, she loves the gossips and when they all gather in the kitchen to prepare meals.

# — after the war too, while working shift-by-shift to stabilise the wounded, she attends private funerals ( besides from the mass funeral ) of any family she is invited to. yes, this includes the yamanaka and the nara ( although that was more because she wanted, than invited ). she always finds the time ever since — unless she’s in surgery, or was really needed, then she visits the family after. from that alone, sakura keeps a black dress and/or kimono in her office at all time.

tl;dr — sakura organised a nation-wide standardisation of cleaning and assessing wounds among several villages, an effort which lasted from eight months to a full year. shortly before kakashi's inauguration as the sixth, sakura was diagnosed with battle fatigue, and was given medication. because the medication didn't improve her condition, she sought out to research and concoct a set of pills herself. mostly though, you can find her working in the hospital, or getting ready to embark in her research into battle fatigue, battle trauma, and post-battle rehabilitation.

hello, welcome to my pinned post! I'm archon-maenad, formerly known as wormpinions, and this is meant to be a guide and warning all at once for my blog. if you're following me with any level of active interest I highly recommend at least skimming this.

below the read-more contains general disclaimers I wish everyone who read my posts could know, a list of takes I have that might be deal-breakers, a summary of each au I created that I post about on here, and an extensive masterlist of my insane tagging system.

honestly, by general disclaimers I mostly mean one thing with a few aspects that I really really really want to make sure people know. specifically the concept of bashing vs criticism.

I do not like the idea of bashing characters. fics tagged with that are a red flag, I always use the "[character] Critical" because it's more accurate to the nuance I want to have. people are not one dimensional. they can have a fuckload of flaws I want to scream about from the rooftops and/or cackle about and still have the opportunity to become better people.

I can admit that I do like bashing settings, but I also use the "[topic] Critical" tag for that because once again: nuance is very important. some worlds are completely fucked but that doesn't mean they don't have redeeming qualities or became that way for a reason.

having to add on to every post that I have thoughts beyond the scathing analysis or (hopefully) amusing dunking would get old real fast, so let me put it here. I do not hate unconditionally. I am capable of exploring generous good-faith interpretations of characters I dislike or settings I criticize. I acknowledge the layers of why people act or places work.

that being said, welcome to the possible deal-breakers part of this post. here are a list of popular characters I will ruthlessly drag for making awful decisions.

itachi uchiha. why does nobody talk about how he literally deadass canonically no-I-am-not-exaggerating tortured his little brother. how can people call him a good sibling What The Actual Fuck????

kakashi hatake. he did team 7 so fucking dirty, mans was really willing to throw a bunch of children out into life as soldier-mercenaries unprepared. I understand why he did (70% of his personality is trauma) but that doesn't mean I condone it.

naruto uzumaki. yes I am very critical of the main boy himself. he's so blind to the privilege he has and expects other people to forgive things as easily as he does, minimizing the very real grievances they might have just because the person being criticized is one he cares about.

sasuke uchiha. do I need to elaborate.

minato namikaze. this one is more me just being really annoyed at how the fandom is so quick to paint him in a saintly light when he killed a thousand people and became a military dictator.

batman. I have a lot of problems with how he handles his rogues and the child heroes trailing at his heels.

all-might. he's a criminally negligent teacher and taught japan that triumph written in blood is peace. dude really singlehandedly fucked up a whole country's culture.

eraserhead. the fact he is a good hero willing to die for his students does not mean he isn't actively sabotaging their ability to trust authority figures, and dadzawa is entirely a fan creation. in canon he seriously gives so many rancid vibes.

izuku midoriya. his self-righteousness and lack of respect for boundaries just makes me nauseous. and instead of getting a mentor who helps him grow as a person, he got one who reinforced all his toxic traits.

daemon targaryen. he ordered the deaths of children and SEDUCED HIS FOURTEEN YEAR OLD NIECE. FOURTEEN. and then fucked her later right after her husband's funeral like that genuinely makes me want to throw up it's so disrespectful and disgusting.

rhaenyra targaryen. yes the double standards for women cheating are definitely real, but passing off her bastards as trueborn and then getting mad when people don't want a woman who believes she has a right to break vows on the throne is just. wowza. hubris should have been her middle name.

padme amidala. if you aren't going with an interpretation where anakin (probably out of unconscious negligence but that doesn't excuse it) manipulated her emotions, then you gotta face the fact that your precious girlboss married a mass murderer and is willing to put all the bills she pushes concerning the jedi at stake by doing that.

on the flipside, here are some characters I shamelessly love that are divisive figures in fandom.

sakura haruno. her harassment of sasuke is disgusting but she was a twelve year old girl who was taught such behavior was acceptable and also that doesn't mean she should be sent off to die with no training. why y'all hating on her she's a queen.

ron weasley. I probably won't make any actual posts about hp because contributing to the discussion of jk rowling's works makes me feel slimy, but appreciation of ron is a very important personality trait of mine y'all need to know.

the whole jedi order. they handled anakin's situation horribly but it was out of ignorance and not malice, and we are jedi culture positive in this household. jedi knights and masters not marrying has a lot of valid reasons actually and if that's a dealbreaker you should transfer to the corps or leave! it's not a lifestyle for everyone and it doesn't need to be.

sansa stark. I'm getting pretty tired of writing all these up so I'm not even going to elaborate. I love sansa and I'm not sorry about it.

and finally, yes I am the bitch who got dragged for liking kill orders. please go here for my explanation for those thoughts in detail that the (in hindsight really badly written because I was too enthusiastic to give enough context and oh my god it really does paint me in a bad light) original post didn't cover.

now the fun stuff. my aus!

riley midoriya au: a reformed but still pretty wild bonesaw is reborn as izuku's twin sister, quickly replacing bakugou's canon role model status. cue a protagonist who grew up around scathing commentary concerning japan's cape scene bc homegirl is Not Impressed by her new life.

bonesaw at camp half blood au: riley is reborn as annabeth chase. her unique worldview and curiosity shake things up quite a bit, because everyone around here is too damn quick to accept the status quo and not question the facts being told.

taylor uzumaki au: taylor hebert is reborn as naruto. she hates her new world, especially the normalized child soldiers and thoughtless way they take chakra for granted, and unknowingly makes ninja double take by being her usual unhinged self.

forbidden histories au: two codependent eldritch gods from cultist simulator get stuck in the body of sakura haruno and proceed to wreak havoc trying to get back to their home reality.

genesis generation au: my own personal post-canon fix-it. aka hokage sakura, ambassador naruto, under house arrest with chakra binding seals and rethinking all his life choices sasuke, and economies not based on child soldiers.
