Don't know if you got same question as this ... But I want to ask can you explain why relationship between Rukia and Ichigo is romantic not friendly and show moments which actually shows how they have romantic feelings for eachother?

** you can ignore it if you want ... But I'm new here and in the fandom too so I had questions 😶 **

That’s the beauty of Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship! They love each other in many ways and since very early on. I think the Fullbring arc really cemented that they also love each other romantically because after having time apart we see just how much (and how fondly) they think of the other... and how nobody else comes close.

Chapter 424 is Ichigo telling us what’s been going on since the battle with Aizen and every panel is full with the calm life he’s living except when talking about not having powers. To me it suggests he has a lot of feelings about that fact and, given the size, he tries not to think about it too much.

But when we get to the panel about Rukia there’s so much empty space it takes up half the page. It’s presenting itself as the heaviest thing on his mind after the battle; not being able to see her.

Also, (this is just a theory) seeing this in color makes it look like the panels are connected up to this point... like if he thinks too long about what happened he’ll eventually think about her. “Now I don’t have any soul reaper powers” changes the subject to Karin. “It’s been 17 months since the battle” changes the subject to school. “Ever since then Rukia hasn’t come to KK once” the scene ends and transitions to one about missing her. It’s like Rukia is always in the back of his mind and after all this time it’s easier to avoid it.

Of course he misses her, but having an excuse for her ready proves how much she’s been on his mind, and outright denying it is so like him. I wouldn’t say this specifically is rooted in “romance” but with other moments we can see just how much he wants to see her again and it really goes beyond what he feels for anyone else.

Take for example when he only mentioned that Rukia hadn’t come to visit him despite having other friends from the SS, especially Renji. In the next chapter he dreamed of them and Byakuya but it’s Rukia that stands out.

She’s singled out from the guys and her panel is bigger, but what really separates her from them is the fact that it’s cropped sooo close to her face. There isn’t even a sliver of her shoulders, Ichigo is really concentrating here. Renji and Byakuya’s presence is enough but not when it comes to Rukia, he seems desperate to see her again.

Being a protector is literally in Ichigo’s name so losing the power to do so was hard on him, anyone could see that. Orihime was glad at first but ultimately had to ask Rukia to figure out a way to get his power back and Chad could barely look at him since he lost it. Chad goes on a little bit more about how wanting to fight/protect those around him makes Ichigo who he is, and while that’s definitely correct what comes next suggests that there’s something more important.

Love is subjective. Riruka drew her ability out through her love/adoration of cute material things and the happiness it brings her. Orihime persevered because of the love she feels for her best friend Tatsuki who always protected her. Chad manifested his ability because of the pride his family (his grandfather, who he loves) instilled in him. Fullbring can be activated with love that is familial, platonic, or even with a hobby/inanimate things.

Saving his sisters from the same monster that killed his mother wasn’t enough to activate his fullbring. Helping Orihime, Chad, and Uryu, his friends, also wasn’t enough. Being strong enough to hold back the equivalent of 100 thousand blades in the form of a ginormous, fiery bird wasn’t enough either. Apparently it doesn’t even slightly trigger it.

Remember when I said Ichigo was avoiding Rukia? She was present in each event he thinks about. Of course she isn’t the most important person in each scenario, but even in the moment he saves her life he doesn’t picture her face like the rest of them. Him doing that cements the fact that he’s trying to hold back thinking about her... until he can’t anymore.

The power comes all at once when he finally thinks of her. Just her.

At the end of the SS arc we figure out that what Ichigo wanted most when he saved Rukia was to see her smile again, and because of the power he gained for her sake he was able to do that; because of power he was able to save so many other people, too. The thing is, he remembers her in the moment he lost his powers; not one of the times he saves her or she saves him or the result of any of that. He began training for fullbring to protect the people important to him but it isn’t being activated by those bonds and instead by the pure desire to see her smiling again.

Putting everything together tells us that he loves her romantically; if his fullbring isn’t being activated by his platonic or familial bonds or the pride in having the power to protect them there is only one type of love that separates her from the rest.

We can keep going... with a liiiittle bit on Rukia, too.

Seeing her for the first time in 17+ months literally stopped the rain and put light back in his eyes after he lost his power AGAIN with the people he’s closest to turned against him. He was bawling his eyes out, more powerless than he’s ever been, and unsettled about his dad and Urahara’s sudden appearance, but she immediately put him at ease without any effort at all.

He believes in her right away just like she does in him. Like she always does.

When Rukia gets the chance to fully think about how special and strong Ichigo is, both in strength and heart, we see her in complete awe.

If she was simply proud and or amazed by him she could have replicated the smile she had at sokyoku hill when she felt his power “flowing into her.” The expressions on her face here (off the top of my head) are completely new and softer than ever. It looks like her own heart skipped a beat —

— It skipped just like time does when they’re seperated.

The arc opened with Ichigo wondering if he can keep up with the speed of the world without her and just about ended with this poem, “When the two that share destiny part and reunite, beyond the frame of time, the ceased clock will awake and start to tick once again.” Ichigo and Rukia are incomplete when they’re apart and are at their happiest when together.

When remembering her happiest moments during her fight with As Nodt, Rukia thought of Ichigo the most. When fighting Yhwach and remembering his most despairing moments, the night Ichigo lost Rukia to Renji and Byakuya comes second after losing his mom. The emphasis on their bond is consistent throughout the story and even until the last chapter.

If Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship was supposed to be strictly platonic the amount of content we were given would have to be cut in half. Y’know, put all the ships on an even playing field, but that’s not what happened.

Ichigo and Rukia have the kind of relationship that was said to be “more than friends” since the second arc. 200 chapters later when they spend over a year without seeing or even speaking to each other we can see how they spent that time thinking of the other and more than anyone else. Time goes on but their bond will never break, and they don’t deserve anything less.

I feel like he would adore coming back to you after a long day and simply laying his head on your shoulder while you run your fingers through his hair.

Dainsleif believes that those fond affectionate moments are to be treasured, as he wouldn’t know what to do without you.

Sometimes, you would find him drunk. The blonde-haired man would stumble his way to you, slurring his words as he confessed that he needed you this instant.

Blush coating his cheeks, he would lean his weight onto you, clutching you as tightly as he could.

Admittedly, Dainsleif has formed a small habit of glancing at his side. Why? Just to look at you again, of course.

Whenever he takes a glance and realizes that you’re not by his side, he misses you.

Lost help 😩😩 A sizable number of eruris also seem to enjoy zevi but I just can't get behind it 😭😭 I don't even get the appeal (can you actually explain it to me like actually actually 😭😭) My dislike for Zeke > content from authors I enjoy 😓😓 Zeke is so cold, heartless, and selfish. Like, his mind is stuck in his own selfmade diy echo chamber 😵‍💫😵‍💫 The Levi of my-own-interpretations wouldn't ever get with someone who doesn't value human life like Zeke. Some people may think "Well, Erwin doesn't value human life either" but we see Erwin suffering from guilt. If he thought of his comrades as anything less than human, we wouldn't see him being burdened by his decisions 😶😶He shoulders the responsibility of his decisions and is keenly aware that his decisions and commands sometimes lead to deaths of many. We literally him standing on a pile of corpses in his own mind 😩😩 If he saw his comrades as mere pawns in his quest for Truth, he wouldn't be affected by any lives lost. Idk it irks me when I see people equating Zeke to Erwin, and I see Zeke and Levi's relationship as hostile more than anything 😵😵

I’m not sure I’m the best person to explain the attraction of Zevi! To say I’m not a fan of Zeke would be the understatement of the century, and I have the #zevi tag blocked on all my socials. Having said that, I can kinda see why Zevi is catnip to some fans. Whichever way you look at it, Erwin, Levi and Zeke’s stories are entangled in canon and Levi and Zeke have a very powerful antagonistic relationship. Not only did Zeke kill Erwin, but he is the living embodiment of Levi’s vow. That kind of relationship is a gift to fic writers. Added to which, Zeke, he is a really well-written complex character with considerable depth. For some fans it’s just a straight up case of hate shipping. Hate shipping isn’t my thing, but it’s as old as fandom and I’m not going to judge anyone who is into it. More often than not in Eruri fics Zeke is a convenient plot device. He often appears as Levi’s abusive and / or manipulative current or ex partner. (I’ve never been entirely convinced by this scenario, but whatever.) This enables Erwin to ”save” Levi. In some cases he might be the knight in shining armour who rescues Levi from his abusive partner. In others, he enables Levi to see for himself what a piece of shit Zeke really is, giving him the motivation and courage to leave and move on.

Although I try to avoid Zevi like the plague, I have read a few fics by authors I admire that feature past Zevi. One fic I love, which isn’t past Zevi, but which really gets to the heart of Levi and Zeke’s complicated relationship is When in doubt, use violence by no_tengo_porque Levi and Zeke have a really antagonistic relationship from the moment they meet, however they are drawn to each other for reasons Levi doesn’t initially understand. I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t read it, but it’s a really interesting dynamic.

Comparing Erwin to Zeke makes no sense to me at all though. They are polar opposites in many ways. Killing is a game to Zeke, and he actively seems to revel in it at times, whereas Erwin is plagued by guilt over every death under his command. Zeke is egotistical and remains stubbornly convinced that his own plan is the right one, while Erwin sees his own actions in the worst possible light and believes he is a fraud for pursuing his own dream (despite the fact it aligns with Saving Humanity.) They really couldn’t be more different.

I guess at the end of the day we all interpret these characters differently and we all have our own preferences, likes and dislikes. I dislike Zevi intensely, but if other Eruri authors enjoy it for whatever reason, I’m not going to judge, I just quietly filter out those works and move on.

I don't think he really thinks much about it. Whatever is out there, is out there even if it's just nothing. He doesn't want to spend his time worrying about it so much.

His mom would play old tapes of classic 70s and 60s songs to keep him calm while she worked on her car when he was younger.

This is so random but I've always thought that he'd be scared of clowns lol. I like to think he was really skeptical about going to the Aquato circus for the first time because of it.

I like to think he enjoys all types of music. Or at least certain type for each genre. Hell, he'll even enjoy a few opera songs. His music taste is everywhere! You can go from listening to a sweet love song to a heavy metal song about death with his kind of playlist.

He can do that thing where he can bend his thumb behind his hand. I also think he's double jointed in his fingers (like me :D)

Very rarely, he sings in his sleep. It's usually for a few seconds or even a few minutes. He'll sing a few seconds of on song, before fading out of it, going completely quiet, then come back with an entirely different song. It only happens a few times, so when it does happen the junior agents are always there with a camera in hand.

Most people think he was in an accident and that's what caused him to be in a lev chair, but I personally believe he was born with it.

Likes holding hands, resting his head on your shoulder, etc.

I like to think he's best friends with Lizzie, Norma and Adam. I actually think they're childhood friends! They all play DnD together, and sometimes go to conventions and stuff.

After his dad died his mom became very quiet and distant. She still loved her son very much, but her husband's death pretty much broke her heart. Basically, the situation is kind of similar to Sashas Mom and Dad, I guess.

His families were mechanics! His mom and dad owned a small shop together that was in the lower floor of their house.

I like to think that his pirate radio becomes pretty big! Especially when he's older. It's still pirate radio, though. But other than that, he actually uses a bit of his mechanic knowledge to help fix up a few cars and other things for other agents.

Throws on whatever doesn't smell dirty and looks best. Depending on the situation, he may take a little more time on what to wear, but he usually puts on whatever.

Bro can, and will smash a boom box over your head if he has to. He already owns 4 more of them.

He obviously wants to be big in the music industry. But a small part of him kind of wants to go back to his hometown and work on cars with his mom. Just have to see what the future holds!

This guy can come up with comebacks, you'd think he rehearsed the whole thing. You better not fumble when arguing with him or he WONT leave you alone about it.

Loves classic fast food. Y'know burger, fries, soda, etc. Its one of the things he ate a lot with his mom, so it's a nostalgic kind of comfort food. It was one of the things they'd bond over. Hanging out in the back of his dad's truck and telling stories while they people watched the busy street.

Idk if these count as lies, but he's always telling "stories" on how he ended up in his chair. They all seem to somehow relate to getting in a fist fight with a psychic bear.

HUUUGE flirt. He loves saying cheesy pick up lines to make someone smile.

Carries a switchblade comb with him to keep his hair nice. Hair like that doesn't happen on its own!

Absolute sass machine. If he's upset, you can tell by his voice. Anything that leaves his mouth when angry is just snark and sarcasm.

Hes definitely a dog person. I like to think he owns at least 3 back at his house. Maybe one cat that he leaves food out for.

I like to think his mom and dad were fluent in Spanish, so, so is he! Sometimes he, Norma and Lizzie will talk to eachother in Spanish to keep anyone else from eavesdropping. Usually when they're gossiping.

Brainrot Time: Chiba Ryuunosuke as a volleyball player AU

So I wrote this last December when I was rewatching Haikyuu for old time's sake... 😶

Personally it's because volleyball is such team-oriented and mental sport, which I think would be the perfect sport for Chiba to unlearn his burden-shouldering and help-refusing self, even by the time he's in junior high.

It's basically those scenarios when the teacher persuades the lonely kid to join club activities to mingle with others and etc. Chiba ended up choosing volleyball since there aren't that many kids playing there who have strong personalities, which would logically make it easier for him to ease into the sport without being overwhelmed in a way. This was in 3rd grade.

Of course, he ended up liking it lol to the point he wanted to continue playing in junior high... or even by the time he's in high school.

This is an AU where a men's volleyball club exists in Kunugigaoka so for assclass setting's sake, Chiba went there instead.

Chiba got picked for the Libero position because although his serves, tosses, and attacks were good enough, his receives are much better. Considering that receiving in general is very difficult to become good at, especially when most volleyball players are hyper focused onto the flashy skills like spiking and etc, Chiba being noticeably good at receiving is enough to get him the Libero position.

The Libero is said to be the most selfless out of all the positions - they can't attack or whatsoever - all they can do was to keep the ball up in the air so that their teammates can score points. A libero's efforts tend to be overlooked by many since it's usually those who score points in the end that get the spotlight... I feel like this position really suits Chiba's character the most, that's why I chose it.

It doesn't matter how many times a spiker gets blocked. As long as someone can keep the ball from touching the ground, they can still keep trying until they get that point. The reason why attackers can comfortably fight in mid-air was because they knew that they have someone guarding their backs. That is the role of a Libero.

The kungigaoka men's volleyball club doesn't have star players like their baseball club does. But while the team doesn't have any outstanding players nor do they make flashy plays, but because they are so "connected" and well in-tuned with each other, opponents tend to have trouble scoring against them. They just have no holes in their offense and defense. They're just a very solid team - a rare quality in a volleyball team that allowed Kunugigaoka to become one of the known powerhouse schools in Tokyo (Junior high level btw).

Also Chiba keeps his hair off his face, either tying it up or pushing it back with wax, especially when he's in a match where the ball can go anywhere in milliseconds so he has to be extra attentive. I just don't think he really cares about such trivial thing like his eyes intimidating people anymore at this point, especially since there are way more scary-looking volleyball players than he is and yet they are just as respected because people are more focused towards their skills rather than their looks, and Chiba liked that a lot.

He would also see no point in keeping his bangs in front of his face at school since everyone would've already known what his eyes look like at this point. So he just kept it naturally parted to how... however his hair wants to be parted when he runs his hands though it I guess lol

I think because Chiba would unlearn things that were holding him back much earlier than in canon, he would then naturally be more confident by the time he's in his 3rd year 😭💕 There's a mutual dependency between him and his teammates on the court (relying on him to guard their backs and them scoring that point to make sure his efforts weren't in vain), so Chiba learns early on that it's okay to ask for help and rely on others when you're stuck.

...that would also mean that there is no way that Chiba would drop to Class E. He has always been smart and good at studying, the only thing that really pulled him down was his reluctancy to ask for help, which what caused him to flunk his biology grades. But since that'd be fixed in this AU, there's no reason for his grades to get pulled down enough to be dropped to Class E.

Tbh we never really get those kind what-if AUs where a 3E student never dropped to Class E... I've always wondered hoe different they would've turned out if they stayed in the main campus as 3rd years 🤔

Also because Chiba joined the volleyball club here, there's no Lead Guitarist-kun drama and the band DREAM wouldn't even come to be... Daisuke probably wouldn't even join the Light Music Club since Chiba wasn't there to wow him... 💔

If canon Chiba is already social enough to get along with most of 3E, Chiba in this AU is a legit social butterfly haha. His loud and chaotic side would likely be more prominent since he has less worries, and he'd be a lot more vocal with how he cares for the people he's close to.

Chiba and Miho have always been in Class C since their 1st year. Don't be surprised that they end up becoming friends despite being in different clubs. He'd likely meet Eiji through Miho... he still wants to deck him since that's how revolting he finds him.

And don't get me started on how Chiba and Kaho would instantly click ajsgsjsksj they'd be so close because Kaho would be like: "oooohh handsome dependable libero~ 💕" and Chiba would just find her enthusiasm towards him endearing (and touching even). Then boom, perfect chemistry haha

Also in this AU, Kaho takes tennis more seriously cause not only did she find herself really liking it, she is THAT competitive. She loves that rewarding feeling when winning a match after a long series of efforts. It's not unrealistic to say that Kaho just has the advatange to become good enough to qualify for the championships for Singles among junior high schools in Tokyo (not necessarily win it though).

Just imagine them supporting each other whenever one of them has a match, be it a practice or an official tournament. You know, a healthy emotional support system between two positive-minded active people who are likely to fall for each other in the long run ahehehehe 😢

The whole Seo problem would NEVER happen this AU, since Chiba would have enough backbone to make him back off.

Being a student from Class 3-C, Chiba as a main campus student would probably give little to no shit about Class E lmao. He has his own things to worry about so why would he bother with them when he could just mind his own business instead? He finds the assembly bullying a nuisance so he doesn't really bother joining in the harsh poking. He's in a comfortable place so there's no need to push his insecurities onto people below him ー a student from the normal Class C indeed!

If Chiba had a former teammate who dropped to Class E, he wouldn't mind talking to him. They were teammates, after all. He had seen his worth as a player and that quality won't magically change just because the poor guy couldn't keep his grades up. That doesn't change the fact he was once a teammate that Chiba had relied on to score points many times before. He has that respect.

↪ You originally planned to adopt only one pet to make your new home cozier. But when you took a fancy to the great horned owl who seemed to love perching on your shoulder and chattering your ear off, the aviatory attendant told you that this mischievous owl named Bo had a very very very shy bestie named Keiji.

↪ As if on cue Bo flew off your shoulder and nudged hard at a tawny owl hidden behind a branch. But he might have nudged him a bit too hard since the tawny fell off the branch and nose-dived towards the ground.

↪ You gasp but just before Keiji hit the ground he spread his wings and gracefully curved upwards, lifting up from the ground and perching on the branch closest to you. And looking into his dark, adorable eyes, you didn't find it in you to just leave him behind.

↪ And that is how your home turns into an owlery; a warehouse of owl feathers reverberating constantly with hoots of the two owls flying freely in your apartment.

↪ Bo owl is very energetic, always nipping at your ears early morning to wake you up for his daily outings. He loves those you know! He's always flitting around from room to room, sometimes nudging Keiji to follow him. And he hoots a lot. Like a lot. Bby owl has a lot to say

↪ Keiji on the other hand is a very prim little guy. He never strays too far away from you when you take them outside for their daily morning outings. He always perches at neat and clean spots like the window sill, or the back of the couch unlike a certain great horned owl whose favorite place to perch is the toilet flush box.

↪ But together they both are a very chaotic duo. The way Keiji sometimes flies after Bo makes you wonder if he's trying to stop Bo from doing some nonsense again.

↪ Nonetheless, you are the heart and soul of the two birdies. You taught them to give you kisses and now they basically wake you up like that. Needless to say, Bo and Keiji definitely ensure you know they love you in their own little birb ways!

I've been Enabled so I'm gonna choose a few headcanons I remembered when I was looking at the list. Buy my silence one ¥10000 pin!!!

🦾 A disability headcanon

He has permanent damage in his right shoulder from the bullet he took during the Sho-Josh-Neku cowboy showdown hell incident. He stressed the wound repeatedly before it could heal. Even after two revivals he still feels the pain. My hc is that injuries in the UG function based on emotions/mentality rather than anything physical, his shoulder wound remains because he still hasn't let his failure to defeat Joshua go. Luckily he's ambidextrous, so he doesn't have to worry about writing or sketching. But it can be a massive pain to deal with in battle (for the love of god do NOT give him one of those tackle pins he WILL forget he WILL ram his injured shoulder straight into the singular massive bicep that is Susuzkichi's frankly horrific body).

🫂 A friendship headcanon

Post-(theoretical) redemption, Neku is his closest friend. He was the one who saw good in him and believed he could be better than he was, even knowing his history and all the things he's done. He's still close with the Wicked Twisters as a sort of weird older brother figure who shows up every now and then to get them Dairy Queen, but Neku's just...different. They understand each other in a unique way, both being people who shut themselves off from others for a very long time and had to go through the painful process of learning to let people in again. Also, Shinjuku. I know that canonically it was already in pieces when Neku arrived, but I still think it's funny if he and a freshly-revived Mina were like. Forced war buddies. Stumbling out of Shinjuku covered in blood with hallowed eyes gripping each other's hand.

😶 Hey look it's the actual random headcanon!

He used to have quite a few piercings when he was younger. I can see him with a couple in his ears and a tongue stud (it's not like he particularly cares for spicy foods anyways). Unfortunately he neglected to take care of them while they were healing and probably rubbed his grubby little garbage sculpture tetanus hands all over them and a few of them got infected badly enough that it put him off of piercings for a while. This is my silly little unnecessary explanation for why he doesn't have any in canon when is SUCH a guy who would have a ton of cool piercings.

bruce handing her the cup of coffee exactly how she likes it!! this is so perfect because he’s trying! i feel like bruce is much better at showing his feelings through actions, rather than words, and this is such a perfect example of that!!

the dress/earrings are so pretty and i love the mention of her being able to run and fight in heels, thanks to the iceberg lounge. omg y/n just wanting one dance with bruce before she leaves his life forever 🥲

HIS REACTION TO HER IN THE DRESS AWWW (again, he short circuits around her!! just absolutely freezes, it’s so precious) i love that she was the one to tell him he looks great haha :’) HIS MOTHER’S PEARLS AHAKSKSJ 😭🥺 again, i think this is another example of him showing the way he feels through his actions. as you wrote, the pearls are symbolic of his trust!! and also his love but she doesn’t see that rn🥲 i also adore this moment because the two of them became closer (as bruce, not as batman) partially through conversation about their mothers and their grief. she knows the importance of something left behind by a deceased parent. it just fits very well :’)

“I’m nervous because I’m not a good dancer.” I LOVE THIS HAHA but i love his reaction and response even more 😭 also her thinking, “why are you in the best mood I’ve ever seen you in when we’re headed into unknown danger in formal clothes?” IT’S BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU and i imagine that in that moment he’s wondering if this is what his life could’ve been (minus the danger awaiting them ofc) if it weren’t for all the tragedy, and batman, and just everything else.

“The mantle of Batman settled between his shoulders. Tonight, he was only pretending to be Bruce.” again, i love the way you describe this because, like you said, it’s done so well in the movie too!! i’m loving all the imagery for the gala tbh

i love alfred telling her she knew when they arrived aww! and the fact that she was imagining if this were her life, minus the danger 🥺 BRUCE ONLY PUTTING TWO STRAWBERRIES ON HIS PLATE HAHAH like when he eats exactly two berries in the movie (if you did that on purpose, i love it) also LOL i love her just being so horny for him😶and judging by his “sharp look” at her when she sighed, she isn’t the only one hehe 👀

As I've discussed on here before Bruce's love language is 100% acts of service, so you're right! Actions are easy....words not so much.

Also it's dumb but I'm glad someone looked at my links to the dress etc because I love seeing those on fics 😂 I spent way too long looking at those/ coming up with the right outfit. And I also just had to include that she's good with heels because of the IL!

Bruce was like 👁👄👁 error 404 file not found when he saw her. But you're so right about the pearls! Poor dumb reader had the right idea of the significance but was too dumb to realize it was basically a love confession!

Side note/ tangent: I love that you bring up that she knows how it feels to lose a parent/ loved one. I thought long and hard with this story about exactly what kind of person this Bruce Wayne version should with! And obviously he needs someone who has similar experiences & feelings--someone who can understand him on a base level. Anyways, I'm just glad that's coming across!

They are both definitely wondering if this is what life could have been like! If only it weren't for the who like....danger thing & the corruption of Gotham, etc.
