Hi! I finally got the chance to read Aurora a bit ago. It's a wonderful story--all I was expecting and better! I was particularly amazed and delighted by the artwork and visual mechanics used to tell the story, so I wrote a post to yell about how cool it is and break some of it down. (No criticism, just praise.) I'm mostly a hobbyist, so I'm hoping I've done it justice.
That said: zero pressure to read it or respond to this ask. Normally I wouldn't send it since I tagged, but I know Tumblr's notifs are a mess and things get lost very easily. I've been in both the "one (1) word of praise will feed me for a year" and the "oh gods don't talk about my writing/art because anything that seems Off will break my brain" modes before, and I absolutely don't want to push or make you uncomfortable!
If you are comfortable, however, I wanted to ask about your use of what I'm assuming are Screen and blending modes in sound effect words. (I'm only guessing that's the technique, though, so I could be totally wrong about how it's done! I'm mostly experienced in image manipulation in Photoshop.) Making them semi-transparent over the actions is genius :) What inspired you to do that, and are there specific techniques you use to make it work?
Same questions go for using specific colors to distinguish different characters' words and actions. I really noticed it in the cave sequence with Falst and Dainix, since their colors are so vivid in the dark (ex. Falst's little swats and Dainix's swooping kick at 1.20.9). It lends excellent clarity to busy scenes.
Thanks! Have a lovely day, enjoy your break, and happy holidays <3
You're correct about the technique! "Screen" is the blend mode I use most often for sound effects. I stumbled on it mostly through trial and error - I love how sound effects add depth to a comic panel, but it's very easy for them to obscure the art in a way I find counterproductive, so "Screen" lets me put the sound effect directly over the origin of the sound while still letting it be visible through the word. Early chapters didn't have it as much-
Tumblr media
Most of the sound effects in early chapters are just solid colors with reduced opacity if I'm feeling fancy. But I started figuring it out around chapter 8 and 9, because Falst is kind of a sound-effect-heavy guy, especially in his fight scenes.
Tumblr media
In order to make sure they don't impede the visibility of the action, I'll often soft-erase the top or bottom half of the SFX to reduce its opacity while still leaving it readable.
Tumblr media
I'll usually double that up with an outline on the SFX so it's still readable. This is an especially important consideration if the SFX goes over an area of the background that's very bright or glowing.
Tumblr media
Color-coding the speed lines and SFX to the character or force causing them isn't a hard and fast rule, but I like using it (in part because it's a habit from the OSP illustrations, where every character has a single pop of color in their lineart) mostly because it sort of codes every sound to make it clear where it's emanating from, or the general feeling of the sound. Since I normally do character-colors for SFX, something like this stands out more jarringly-
Tumblr media
Which it's supposed to, but a big lightning strike doesn't register as anything too worrying because it's just Tess up to her usual shenanigans.
Tumblr media
It's also very useful for magic effects, because each form of magic has its own associated palette.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And when I had a very complicated fight scene in a dark environment, I used the texture pattern I'd already made for the monster to color its SFX, so when I Screened them onto the panels they didn't obscure too much while still communicating "this is something else."
Tumblr media
Changing the weight, lined-vs-not-lined, and opacity of the SFX words also helps to communicate that not every sound has the same feeling. A strong motion is solid and aggressive, but a crackling, unstable sound is more ephemeral and staticky.
Tumblr media
It's definitely been a process of learning as I go - looking back at the earlier chapters I can actually see when I first tried various tricks I now use regularly, like doubling and distorting an SFX to produce the effect of a camera-shaking impact. I haven't really seen any other comics that do it like I do, probably because most other comics follow a more traditional production pipeline where text bubbles and sound effects get locked into the composition early, before the inking stage, because traditional physical comics don't have digital-art layers to play with. Adding sound effects to a page is almost the last thing I do before exporting them, and that only works because digital art and layers allow for a ton of flexibility.

Gameplay trailer for the upcoming UFO Grendizer game!
I have thoughts I wanna go ahead and get out cuz of this game.
For one, its way past time we started seeing classic franchises get some kind of legit well produced game that does them justice. It's slightly weird it wasn't Mazinger first, in that way, but this is a great start.
Gonna go on a rant now so uh... adding a cut
I gotta say, that I love love love the visuals on display in the trailers for this game so far. This gameplay trailer shows off great, expressive, snappy animations on the models, something I kind of picked up from earlier trailers but obviously this one really showed off Stuff Happening which was nice. But more then that, the colors and the textures. I really wanna comment on this. It is so refreshing to see a game with such relatively flat texturing. It feels like gaming is just drowning in games that try to use a hyper overdose amount of tiny texture detail (every blade of grass is animated! woopty shit!), and frankly nothing looks better for it. The colors and models in these trailers all feel like they pop so much more due to the flatter, brighter coloration of everything. Obviously part of that is because its adapting an old animated work, and the designs and color palette of those days is just more like that, but it really shows what newer tech can do to take a "cartoon" aesthetic and make it just fucking bop like nuts nowadays. Like, this to me is so much more of an evolution of how pixel art graphics of yesteryear looked into a 3D form. I can fucking SEE everything too, one of the things I hate about modern triple A game productions, isn't just that its bloated as all hell, but that so much of that visual bloat just makes the games more vague and obfuscated to look at. Everything is a mush of tiny details in the environment that damage my ability to clearly denote the edges of things. Even games that are less overdone, just due to the default level of game resolution now, cause things to be harder to see. I get that a major factor is aesthetic, but I don't think there's anything immutable about how a "realistic" setting "has" to handle its graphical details.
I just want more games to be highly developed but have such clean, bright, fucking visible graphics like this. Not everything of course, but, more. (Of course major game development also just needs to have the bloat dialed back in general for lots of reasons but this post was about how this trailer looks soooooo pretty so thats the thing I'm going on about)

2. Gush about your f/o’s voice!
Cleo's a little soft spoken, and she always sounds a little bit sleepy. Honestly, it's really adorable. Her voice is a little low-ish, and idk, there's just something very nice about it. I like listening to her, especially when she gets excited about something and starts talking a little louder
13. Gush about your F/O’s personality!
Chae-Yeong's personality is bcs it's something that you really have to be close to her to actually see
There's different ways that she publicly presents herself. In her day to day, she acts a little bit absentminded, being friendly and a bit flirty but eccentric and a little weird. She knows how to play social games, and she's glad to play along with whoever she's interacting with while still politely holding her ground on certain key things
But when she's going around as the Shepherd, she's quiet but direct, sometimes so much so that she comes off harshly. She's more visibly awkward here, but she's also more intimidating. She knows that she scares some people, and she's willing to play into that. But she's still capable of showing mercy, and she'll always stick to her values to thee point where she can seem like a bit of a stick in the mud
And neither of those personalities are necessarily not true to Chae-Yeong, they're just her exaggerating parts of herself. She likes to change herself to fit whatever role she's supposed to be playing, almost like an actress. She plays with what's expected of her, and that's partially because she has trouble being honest. Because if she's honest, that means that she could be rejected for who she really is, and that's something that scares her
But she doesn't have anything to worry about, because she's such an amazing person. There's a line that runs through her varying presentations, and it's that she's always someone who's kind and passionate, driven by a strong sense of justice. She can be a little intense, but she's also capable of being more lighthearted and will joke around a little bit, even if she mostly is pretty serious. She genuinely believes in what she's fighting for, and she has a sharp mind that she wants to put to use for the good of others.
She's selfless, and brave, and always putting others first. But that can have some downsides too, and she can struggle to take care of herself and talk about her own feelings and troubles. She's caring though, and while she can be stubborn, that's because she's so incredibly determined. If you know anything about the Enneagram personality types, she's a 1w9
At her core, Chae-Yeong is someone who doesn't always like herself, but she always cares about others. And she's determined to do everything that she can to make things better. So while she does that, I want to make sure that she gets cared for just as much as she cares for everyone else
17. Gush about how talented your F/O is!
Mel is such an amazing person. I know it's not like she came from nothing, her family was wealthy and had connections. But even after essentially being kicked out and made to go it on her own, she managed to make the best of things, deciding for herself how she wanted to handle things. She's an amazing politician and diplomat, being so good with people that she makes anyone that she's talking to feel special. She's a compelling speaker too, it's hard not to get capitvated by her
And beyond her more publicly acclaimed talents, Mel is also an amazing painter. She has a great eye for what would make a good work, and she's good at picking out color palettes for her work. And her skill with art extends into her skill with makeup- she really knows how to do some fun, beautiful looks

My thoughts and predictions on This (in order from left to right):
Tumblr media
REIJI. Good lord reiji. I am pleasantly surprised to see he has a very long jacket. A Reiji superfan I follow on Twitter noticed that that belt behind him is so long that when gravity finally starts acting on it, it will hit the ground, which I find very funny. Bro has a tail! I also see his arms are exposed….the same Reiji fan noted this is a welcome break for his Live Support member, who can now play the drums without dying in that stiff ass leather jacket. I agree with this, and would like to take it a step further, maybe it symbolizes Reiji loosening up some after the events of Raison Detre? Well. Only time will tell. The boots are nice. I like his megane pose. Reiji has grown on me a little bit so I’m glad to see him have such a drastic shift in silhouette!
KANATA. KANATA NIJO. OHHHHH BOY, this outfit will either be the best out of all of them or flop severely. So happy to see him wearing a giant puffy jacket. The belts and stuff all of it remind me of Talk Flower’s design, which is one I quite like, so I’m hoping it resembles her a little bit. Not much to say about the pants and the boots, they’re pretty standard epsilon format. I’m so glad they let him do a cute peace sign in this, justice for insane boys. What I’m most excited to see, though, is more of his new hair…the way he let it down tells me he’s Insanely Depressed. I can’t wait to witness it ingame. But if Kanachan being depressed = better hair, so be it….I kind of hate the way his bangs look up so this is a VERY welcome change. Wait I just noticed he has a chain, good for him. Well to close Kanata off I’m just praying for his color palette to be good please god don’t do what Aaside did to epsilon
SHU🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹SHUUUUU UJIGAWA. Very very excited for his reveal because god, as much as I love him, HIS AASIDE OUTFIT WAS TRASH! JUSTICE FOR SHU!!! I hated the colors of his stupid fucking shorts with a passion I just hated his outfit okay he was ugly. I admit it. My fav was ugly. I’m very glad they kept a puffy jacket but cropped! Even though I hated the old one, it’s like, it could be better with some changes, and here they are. I’m hoping it’s not zipped, I guess..? I’m not too sure what to expect with the under layers of any of these outfits. Hey they’re all wearing jackets. Maybe that’s to symbolize the persona they all put on to the outside wo(*is shot and killed*). That has to be hot onstage though, right? Well. Whatever. I’m not fully decided how I feel about him only having One garter, and also those shoes have the potential to be very goofy, but that’s alright because even though I want better visuals, I do want epsilon to stay slightly silly. Coughs. I love his new hair for the opposite reason to Kanata’s— which is to say, Kanata is getting worse and I love that, but Shu is getting better and I love that (but I do hope he suffers in Kimisute no matter what I’m sorry). And of course there is SO MUCH to be said about his pose….opening up….becoming happier….proudly showing himself to the world…..Cries. That’s my shitty anime boy right there. The aforementioned Reiji twitter person also mentioned how dynamic that cable is which is so funny for anyone wanting to buy an acrylic stand of him. Maybe they’ll cut it down or something. Overall I love him and I have hope for him and his color palette. Justice for Shu
HARUKA. ummmmmmmm I’ll be so honest with you I. I don’t love it….I DO NOT LIKE SAYING THIS BECAUSE I LOVEEE HARUKA. And I do have hope since this is just the silhouette and all that but I…Boy….what is that jacket. I don’t love the collar being up and I just don’t love the frame of the silhouette in general. I think the biggest part of why I don’t like this is because of how much I liked Haruka’s original outfit? It was genuinely one of my favorites out of the entire cast (aside from fantome iris), generally I just think Haruka looks better with super slim clothes, and I was kind of obsessed with the vibe that came with the bright yellow zip up and shiny af plastic fabric pants. But I will mourn that on its own. I do not understand how his belts will fit into this outfit, or if they’re on the jacket or his pants. But you know what? I love haruka so I will defend him despite whatever this stupid outfit is. Love his pose as always he’s so emo
TADAOMI. last but certainly not least, especially in severe mental problems! Did he get taller, or is everyone else shorter? We shouldn’t give him more power than he needs, especially in physical aspects. We do not need him to kill someone for real (or maybe we do, idk), so let’s not give him that power. It’s funny how he’s Reiji’s height. Toxic yaoi is real forever! His outfit seems fine, I also liked the IDEA they had with his original but not the execution, so I wish it would’ve followed something with that…maybe it has, idk, I’ll have to see the colors! That also brings up the idea of wether they’re matching or not, their original outfits were all pretty different and only united by Vibes. I kind of hope for some more prevalent motifs in these outfits but I hope they keep their individuality. Back to Tadaomi- WHY ARE HIS PANTS TUCKED INTO HIS BOOTS. SHUDDERS. I like his belts too. I hope he’s making a super insane expression or something.
SOME GENERAL STUFF! Let’s talk about the belts, shall we? They all have very obvious belts, I like it. It fits the vibe of a bunch of depressed kids in a band. Shu has the smallest one, followed by Reiji(?), Haruka and Tadaomi are tied, and I would argue that Kanata has the most because of the chain as well. I could be reading too much into this, but I feel like this matches up with their growth to some extent— Shu, who now has a support system and is learning to grow has the least “restraints”. Reiji is up next, he is also learning to let go of some of his rage (or redirect it), and tbh, Shit is looking up for him man. Haruka is still bound by Kanata (maybe even moreso now that he hasn’t seen him for a year, avoidance doesn’t solve problems and in this case will probably worsen them) and his own feelings of guilt. Tadaomi…I consider him the worst out of epsilon, so I’m surprised to see only two belts on him, assuming this theory is correct. Kanata is indisputably in a hell of his own creation every day of his life, I’m not shocked to see him having the most even though I expected Tadaomi to be in this spot. Maybe it’s because of the difference in awareness? Kanata is definitely in some deep shit but understands how fucked his relationship with Haruka is, whereas Tadaomi tries to kill a guy and doesn’t reflect on it at all. Well, we will see. I already noted the fact that they all have jackets. Maybe they’re cold. I’m looking forward to seeing the full visuals posted!! Yayyyyy!!!!!!!! Love forever

1 Thing I Love & 1 Thing I Hate About EVERY Danganronpa Character Part 1
Part 2
SPOILERS FOR ALL THREE MAIN GAMES
I’d love to hear our opinions as well in the comments or my inbox or DM’s! If you try this trend with DR characters, tag me!
Tumblr media
Sayaka Maizono
♡ Her passion for her career and friends.
✘ The way she tries to screw over Makoto when the game had just begun. Like wait and see what happens before screwing over such a great guy? Leon didn’t deserve it either.
Leon Kuwata
♡ His voice actor (English), and how real and human his execution was in that we all would be so scared and irrational. It was just so iconic and sad as it’s our first introduction to the death in this series and we all think: “shit, this is real... they are really killing these kids.” I didn’t think it would be that brutal, just seeing his body limp at the end with the haunting music.
✘ His design is disgusting. I hate how he looks.
Chihiro Fujisaki
♡ So innocent, so kind, so intelligent
✘ Shouldn’t have been killed for such a stupid reason, also they did Mondo dirty with that motive for killing as well. Just a mess. As for the actual character, Chihiro cries right off the bat when you do your introductions and that was kind of annoying to me personally.
Mondo Oowada
♡ He has a lot of respect, understanding and emotions for someone I thought would be a hard-ass douche biker.
✘ The worst motive to kill ever in a game where you know you’re getting executed if you’re found out. Like you’d be extra careful and that’s his reason to kill? Lazy writing.
Celestia Ludenberg
♡ Bad bitch energy and her goth lolita design.
✘ Manipulation and double murder. Bad bitch energy only goes so far. Confidence is different then selfishness. Also, of all the chapter 3 triple murders... the worst motive to kill.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru
♡ Emotions: secure in his masculinity, able to cry, show emotions, and apologize when he’s wrong. He’s funny and likable.
✘ The Ishimondo white hair thing was stupid. Taka was fine on his own.
Hifumi Yamada
♡ Writing takes talent, fan fiction as much as any other style or genre. Also the talent of his voice actor (who also voices Kiibo/K1-B0).
✘ Literally everything else about him.
Sakura Oogami
♡ I love everything about her. I love her wisdom, loyalty, design, voice etc. Just step on me, mother.
✘ Why the hell would she ever agree to be a spy even if it meant the end of her dojo? I just don’t think she would do that rationally because she isn’t selfish. The others would suffer for her spying. She remedies this with redemption in her letter in chapter 4 but still she should’ve said no off the bat. Everyone had something to lose. The dojo wasn’t worth spying for monokuma. Also I just don’t think she would commit suicide. She can’t help the remaining students survive and redeem herself truly if she’s dead.
Kyoko Kirigiri
♡ Bad bitch energy, calm and collected when I could never be.
✘ Especially in future arc of the anime, damn can you show some emotion please? Through your words and expressions not just your actions. Sure she was willing to “die” for Makoto but like I just want more emotion from her sometimes, even in THH.
Makoto Naegi
♡ So pure. I Love Bryce Papenbrook. Makoto reminds me of Sora and I love his design.
✘ In THH I didn’t mind his innocence but in the Danganronpa 3 future arc anime, when people started straight up abusing him and accusing him, he needed to grow a little backbone.
Byakuya Togami
♡ Love my dad, king shit, also love how over the progression of the games and animes he becomes a little more kind to his friends.
✘ Why the fuck did he mess with Chihiro’s body? Just so cruel and disrespectful.
Yasuhiro Hagakure
♡ Funny magic man. Sexy voice.
✘ Please. Please Hiro use your brain just once. Why do we have to prove Kyoko isn’t a ghost?!
Toko Fukawa
♡ Character development in UDG and I love Genocider.
✘ Putting down herself and others constantly gets old in THH.
Aoi Asahina
♡ Love her voice actress and her personality
✘ We really just gonna get everyone killed in chapter 4 huh? Surely you know they don’t all deserve that.
Junko Enoshima
♡ A very memorable villain with great hair and design.
✘ I just can’t stand her. I hate her so much.
Mukuro Ikusaba
♡ Her mercenary background is super cool as a concept.
✘ Too bad it wasn’t explored nearly enough.
Hajime Hinata
♡ Seeing the protagonist be a little less naive, innocent and positive than Makoto was a refreshing change, although I loved Makoto. I liked Hajime’s cynicism and expressions that sometimes just screamed “this shit again, huh?”
✘ I enjoy the way Izuru looks but I hate him as a character. He is sexy to look at but Hajime is just a better character overall
Teruteru Hanamura
♡ His love for his family and mother especially is so cute and heart breaking if you know the full story.
✘ He needs to know when to dial it back and quit with the perversions. And no it’s not just how he looks, Miu needs to chill at times, too.
Twogami
♡ I feel like he genuinely cares about his friends, just hides it well
✘ His death felt like a cop out and poorly written. It just didn’t sit right with me. Also his design is disgusting to me, his outfit and such.
Mahiru Koizumi
♡ Loyal to her close friends.
✘ I just have no interest in her as a character and I find her boring.
Peko Pekoyama
♡ Loyalty. Loyalty is something I value very highly in every form of relationship. Peko is also very hot.
✘ Come on girl... I know how you were raised but you should’ve known Fuyuhiko didn’t think of you as just a tool and you two should’ve expressed your true feelings long ago. Like even in secret. How do you live like this? Also I feel like killing Mahiru could’ve been avoided with a calm talk.
Ibuki Mioda
♡ Cute design, positive vibes.
✘ Cringe sometimes in the way she talks.
Hiyoko Saionji
♡ Beautiful character design and some very good insults and snarky remarks at times.
✘ Just irredeemably mean and annoying. Even when you do her free time events she is just so annoying.
Mikan Tsumiki
♡ I like her design as well as her hair, expressions, sprites and clothing.
✘ I hate her. I just hate her whether she’s in her true psycho form or timid stuttering form. She’s just annoying in my opinion.
Nekomaru Nidai
♡ So supportive, can hold my drink at a party. Respects everyone and wants the best for them.
✘ Bro Mechamaru was a stupid plot point. I just couldn’t stand looking at him and couldn’t take it seriously. Still sad when he died though.
Chiaki Nanami
♡ From chapter 5 of sdr2 on she is impossible not to love if you didn’t already. Just the selflessness, the sadness of the reveal and execution, how she returns to help Hajime at the end???? I love her. I love her hair design, color palette, her personality, everything.
✘ I’m bitter and miserable about her being the only class member to actually die (the despair arc anime) also her falling asleep at random times is kind of odd and she doesn’t seem to be like that later on in the game??? Like it seemed like a cheap joke but not actually who she is? Hard for me to explain.
Gundham Tanaka
♡ King shit, couldn’t praise him enough. He’s sexy, loves animals, and is funny as hell sometimes. His voice actor is a saint and a cool dude and I named my guinea pigs after the Dark Devas (yes I know they are hamsters in the games.)
✘ Come on dude. I get that being from Hell and magic and having evil powers is your shtick, but we all know that you and Nekomaru sacrificed yourselves so the others wouldn’t starve. We know you care about your classmates. There comes a time when it’s time to let personas and facades fade and be true to your heart. I just feel like him denying he cared at the end hurt. We all know he cared. I didn’t like how he was haughty until the end. He deserved better. I love him.
Nagito Komaeda
♡ I love him so much. So cunning and intelligent, always a step ahead. And he’s big sexy.
✘ Him killing himself in chapter 5 hurt me so bad I was like in denial for days. Also hate how Bryce Papenbrook gives him a raspy stoner psycho voice in the game then a light airy higher-pitched voice in the despair arc anime. It just bothers me. I love his voice still but the inconsistency just hurts my OCD
Sonia Nevermind
♡ I love that she’s so interested in her passions and love her feelings for Gundham
✘ Her outfit and bow are atrocious. Also why didn’t she start liking and talking to Gundham sooner on? Their romance bloomed late and it would’ve made for a better chapter 4 ending if they were a bit closer.
Kazuichi Souda
♡ Cool design and outfit, love his voice (also voices Kaito in V3) and his backstory is relatable at times. He’s also very human in that he’s scared a lot of the time or insecure or blames others in panicked situations. It’s not always a good thing but it’s human and realistic.
✘ Gosh he can be so annoying. Sometimes flirting or whining too much is well... too much.
Akane Owari
♡ Strong-willed and definitely someone I would be friends with
✘ What the hell is her outfit? Gymnasts and athletes don’t wear that shit. Stop objectifying her when it doesn’t even make the product or plot better. Like there’s absolutely no point to making her dress that way. I was a gymnast for 15 years. Even those who do parkour (which Akane seems to do more often than actual gymnastics in the anime and game) don’t wear what she wears. Also she’s underrated.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu
♡ I love him. He’s the DR character I’m most like out of all the games and anime. Tenko is a close second. I think he’s adorable, love his character arc, development, redemption, and love his voice.
✘ In the anime/despair arc, Fuyuhiko is not done justice. He doesn’t get enough lines, has a different voice actor, just doesn’t give off the same vibes.
Izuru Kamakura
♡ Sexy man long hair good.
✘ Boring character. I wish he were just Hajime.
Kaede Akamatsu
♡ Loyalty and leadership are such attractive qualities in her. Also she faced her death with such class and dignity and I respect her because I could never.
✘ Some of the voice lines Erika does for her are just weird and cringe. Just random moans or grunts... I don’t know it’s like when Ann Takamaki from Persona 5 (also voiced by Erika) makes suggestive noises as well. Just grinds my gears. Also hate her outfit down to the hair pins.
Shuichi Saihara
♡ I love his nasally voice. I love his design and he’s so adorable. I love how emotional and compassionate he can be. He ties with Makoto for favorite protag of mine.
✘ That sprite where he sniffs his hand. And his ugly ass hat.
Rantarou Amami
♡ Sexy man, sexy voice, sexy piercings
✘ Ugly outfit, and wasted potential
Ryoma Hoshi
♡ I respect him and feel bad for his outlook on life and for how poorly he views himself. I love his little hat as well and he’s the first “different styled” character (Hifumi, Bandai, Teruteru) that I liked the design of.
✘ I hate when he says “got a long ways to go,” it’s overused and annoying, and wish he gave himself more credit. Also hate that when you first meet him he warns you that he’s killed people and is dangerous to be around. Come on buddy, you know you wouldn’t hurt your friends. Stop pushing them away.
Kirumi Tojo
♡ Competence, well rounded, skillful
✘ Boring as hell. I wouldn’t waste one free time event on her.
Angie Yonaga
♡ Dark skin, super cute, love her talent as an artist myself.
✘ Gives religious people a bad name and is super manipulative which I hate.
Tenko Chabashira
♡ I relate to her and feel bad when she’s misunderstood. She’s a good person deep down. Also love her sprites.
✘ There’s more cunning, funny and clever ways to write her digs at men.
Korekiyo Shunguuji
♡ I’m in love with this man. Long hair, voice, mystery, mask, intelligence, passion, talent.
✘ He definitely was a victim of abuse and a lot of people refuse to see that and just hate him. Team Danganronpa should’ve given him a redemption arc where he realized his sister abused him and changed.
Gonta Gokuhara
♡ I love his design except for his suit. Also he’s so cute and naive. I cried for his trail.
✘ No need talk like caveman. Better way to do this.
Kokichi Ouma
♡ Like Nagito, I value his intelligence and crazy cunning.
✘ Shouldn't have died. Also shouldn’t have manipulated Gonta. That was just cruel.
Miu Iruma
♡ She has her hilarious moments and her death surprised me and was sad.
✘ Sometimes she lacks basic empathy, i.e. calling Tenko “Tencrotch” when she just fucking died.
Maki Harukawa
♡ Amazing character development. Didn’t see her surviving until the end at the start. Also her love and passion for Kaito.
✘ “Do you wanna die?” gets old.
Kaito Momota
♡ Just the overall best bro you could ever have.
✘ Has some toxic masculinity issues and anger issues.
K1-B0
♡ Pretty much everything about him. His design, his attitude and personality, especially how amazing and cool he is chapter 5 onward, his execution made me so sad. He’s so innocent and funny without trying.
✘ When you do his free time events he’s very arrogant and just talks about himself a lot... it seems odd and not similar to the Kiibo we see throughout the game.
Himiko Yumeno
♡ Super cute design, love her voice and “Nyeh...” and her sprites. Her character development is great as well.
✘ Why did they take so long to make her important and likable?
Tsumugi Shirogane

Extraordinary
Summary: Makoto’s a bit haunted by the lack of normalcy in Hope’s Peak--at least, whatever shreds of normalcy could survive in a place like that. Hina, Sakura, and Kyoko bring him some measure of peace.
@naegiristan Here’s your TOC fic! I apologize for it being so late, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless :) Thanks to the lovely @peachytickles for hosting this with me. I had a blast. @ticklesofcolor
There’s a lengthy conversation about food/healthy eating in the beginning, so TW/CW for food.
Living at Hope’s Peak had forced Makoto to severely recategorize the way he viewed himself. Being ordinary was just...who he was. There was no word for it before. Makoto was himself, and that’s all that he ever needed to be. School life, if he could even call it that, had wrenched that comfort away from him.
How was he supposed to be ordinary amongst the world’s foremost geniuses? What was the point of being ‘just Makoto’ when everyone else was so much more?
“Heads up!” The call snapped Makoto out of his thoughts. He turned and caught a facefull of frosting and sprinkles. He narrowed his eyes at Hina, not exactly annoyed but not exactly happy either.
“Oh my god, are you okay?” Hina wheezed, not even bothering to hide her giggles.
“I’m fine.” Makoto wiped a bit of frosting from his nose and popped it in his mouth. Hm. Strawberry.
“You looked like you could use a donut. I take my friends’ donut deficiencies very seriously.” Hina took a seat by his left, sliding the dozen box to sit between them. Sakura sat on his other side, graceful as always, and took a glazed donut from the box.
“Sakura!”
“Hmm?” She looked up, donut in mouth, and Makoto stifled a chuckle.
“You’re...having a donut?” Hina stared in open-mouthed wonder.
“I can have cheat meals sometimes.” Sakura averted her eyes, uncharacteristically bashful.
“I thought you hated donuts! I feel betrayed!”
“It’s reverse psychology, Hina. It makes cravings easier.”
“Next you’re gonna tell me you actually love cake.” Hina huffed, and when Sakura stayed quiet, she threw her hands up in exasperation.
“We’re soulmates! I’m supposed to know these things about you! My whole life is a lie!” Hina whined, dropping her head in her hands. Sakura leaned around Makoto to pat her back, chuckling at her dramatics.
Kyoko drifted over with perfect timing, taking a graceful seat before Hina could declare a divorce.
“Hey, Kyoko.” Makoto smiled. Her eyes lingered on his face for a while, longer than usual, and it occurred to him that he still had frosting on his face. He pulled napkins from the dispenser on the table and dipped them in his water glass, choosing speed over discretion as he scrubbed at his face.
“Hina. Sakura. Makoto.” Her lips quirked up on his name.
“Do you have plans, Kyoko?” Hina slid the box to Kyoko, but she didn’t take a donut.
“Why do you ask?”
“Sakura and I were gonna go up to the art room. Wanna come?”
“I suppose.” Kyoko smiled.
……………..
“Guys, look!” Hina gasped, covering her mouth with her hand.
“Is that...Celeste?” Sakura wrinkled her nose, slipping past Hina to get a better look. Nearly every surface in the room was covered in images of Celeste, from paintings to sketches--even a sculpture or two sat at the back of the room.
“Hifumi must have drawn these,” Kyoko sighed, thumbing through a discarded sketchbook--unfortunately, also filled with drawings of Celeste.
“What makes you say that?” Makoto looked over Kyoko’s shoulder. The drawings were good--no, great, actually, if one could get past the creepiness of it all. Did Celeste know about all of this?
“He’s obsessed with her.” Kyoko held up a more tame drawing of Celeste looking out a window. Something at the back of Makoto’s mind stirred upon seeing it, but the feeling fled as quickly as it came.
“I think he’s a little more than obsessed.” Sakura gestured at an easel with an Elizabethan-style portrait of Celeste on a throne, revelling in excessive jewels and finery. Celeste had to know, then. This was the kind of thing she’d force Hifumi to make, anyhow.
“I want a creepy portrait now! Let’s make them for each other!” Hina giggled, appraising the portrait of Celeste with open amusement.
“I’m not an artist, Hina.”
“Who cares? It’ll be fun! You and I can do each other. I won’t judge you. Makoto and Kyoko, why don’t you guys swap as well?” Hina shoved brushes and palettes into everyone’s hands, leaving no room for argument. Though Makoto really wanted to argue. There was no way Kyoko would--
“Alright.”
“Y-Yeah. Sounds good.” He coughed, dumping his supplies at the nearest station. Sakura came around with canvases for them, delicately setting them on the easels.
Painting was rather relaxing, once Makoto got into it. Some of his anxieties melted away as he meticulously blended the paint, trying to capture the lavender undertones of Kyoko’s hair. He cut the line of her easel across the canvas with a thick brush, and in one fell swoop, outlined the curve of her head peeking out behind it. The creepy piece of the activity was lost on Makoto from the moment he started--he had to do Kyoko justice.
He leaned in close for the most important part: Kyoko’s eyes. They both weren’t visible, but her right eye peeked out just enough for him to capture the gentle violet. He dabbed tiny reflections into the iris, giving her eyes the shining life that he’d always admired. He wondered if his eyes looked like that. Probably not, anymore.
The sensation of something light and fluffy sweeping across his nape rudely interrupted his musings and nearly sent him onto the floor. The feeling zipped along the side of his neck and hopped up to his ears--he tilted out of his chair at that point, and Sakura’s sharp reflexes were the only thing saving him from an untimely demise. She righted his chair with him still in it and smiled.
“Hina!” Makoto slapped a hand to the back of his neck, cheeks blazing red. Hina’s grin told him all he needed to know, but the paintbrush dangling between her fingers told him more.
“Sorry! Had to snap you out of it. We’re going to go get dinner, if you want to join us.” Hina squeezed his shoulder and it only tickled worse. He tried to discreetly pry her hand off of his shoulder but there was no room left for playing natural.
“You guys go ahead. I’m not hungry.” He cursed himself for the way his voice cracked. He saw Kyoko glance at him from the corner of his eye and he cleared his throat. Real smooth, Makoto.
“I’ll pass as well.”
“Oh, okay. Bye!” Hina looped her arm through Sakura’s and dragged her out of the art room, leaving Makoto and Kyoko silent and alone.
“I finished your painting.” Kyoko turned her easel to face him. What’d she painted certainly looked like him, if he squinted. The colors were all there, and she’d perfectly captured the one tuft of hair on his head that would never lie down. His face was a little lopsided, looking more like an emoticon than anything else. He adored it more than words could describe.
He needed words, though, because Kyoko was staring expectantly.
“I….it’s…” Would cute sound patronizing? Maybe endearing was alright. No, that would be worse.
“You can say it’s horrible.”
“It’s perfect, Kyoko.” He ran his thumb over her signature in the bottom corner.
“Can I see yours?”
“Oh, uh. Sure.” He turned his easel towards her, eyes fixed on a point in the middle distance so he wouldn’t have to look at her.
“Makoto.” He looked up, expression neutral.
“This is wonderful,” She whispered. Tears glistened in her eyes, threatening to fall, and Makoto frantically passed her tissues from his pocket.
“Kyoko, hey--”
“I’m just grateful, that’s all. Thank you.” She dabbed at her eyes.
“It’s nothing.”
“It’s not nothing to me. Thank you.” She took the painting from the easel and held it protectively.
“You’re welcome.” He smiled.
………………………………..
“I want what they have. Sakura and Hina, I mean.” Makoto unlocked his door and held it open for her.
“A lesbian relationship?”
“Wh--no, of course not. Wait. They’re together?” Makoto’s jaw dropped.
“Makoto, your lack of perception worries me sometimes,” Kyoko huffed, slipping past him with the paintings. She rested them against the wall near the door as Makoto worked his jaw, trying to remember how to speak. It made sense,  but how could he not notice?
“Listen, my point is that I want normalcy. I want to laugh with someone who means something to me. As messed up as it is that we’re trapped here--” He gestured to his room-- “I’d like to at least have friends like everyone else.” He flopped on his bed. She sat more gracefully beside him.
“I’m not very funny.” Kyoko shrugged. He squinted confusedly at her for a moment.
“That’s okay, Kyoko. You don’t have to be. I’m just complaining about something stupid.” He sighed deeply and fiddled with his jacket sleeves.
“I may have a different way of making you laugh, though.”
“Oh?” He looked up.
“You might hate it. Just...tell me to stop if you do.” She made eye contact with him, and if he didn’t know any better, he’d say she was...nervous? He’d never seen her like this. It was equally endearing and unsettling.
The skittering of nails around his collarbones stopped his train of thought dead in its tracks.
“K-Kyoko! Wait!” He squealed, giggles bursting from him before he could even think to hold them back. She withdrew her hands as if she’d been burned, watching him intently.
“You didn’t have to...I mean...I-It’s okay if you…” Makoto waved his hands around, well-aware that the stammering was losing him any cool points he may have had with her.
“You like this.” A statement, not a question.
“I think so? Y-Yeah, I do. It’s fun, and you’re fun, and--”
“Makoto.” Kyoko silenced him with the tenderness of his name. “It’s alright.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes.” She smiled--smiled!--at him, and his heart flipped in his chest. They gazed at each other for a moment, warm and inviting, and it would’ve been great if Kyoko didn’t ruin it by tickling his ribs. Makoto squawked and fell backwards on the bed, giggling at machine-gun speed. He grabbed at her arms to have something to hold and she chuckled at him, sliding her hands down to his sides. She moved languidly, calculating every move before Makoto could react to her last one.
“Just so you know, Makoto, you mean something to me, too. So in a way, we’re both getting normalcy.” She hummed and scribbled curiously at his stomach, laughing softly at his attempts to curl up. He wondered if she knew how awful her nails were, even through his shirt. His survival instincts advised against telling her, though--she’d likely never leave him alone.
If Makoto could see through his mirth-squinted eyes, he might’ve seen Kyoko staring down at him fondly, smiling wider than she had since they’d arrived at Hope’s Peak. Instead, he cycled between swatting at her hands and hiding his face, absolutely overwhelmed on all fronts.
“Yeah,” she whispered softly, applying enough pressure to make Makoto shriek, “Ordinary is just what I needed.”
If he wasn’t giggling so hard, he’d’ve told her that she was what he needed, too.

“Thanks for doing this for me.” The young artist had already begun mixing paints on his palette, eyeing the canvas before him to scale the size of his portrait.
Jimin was gentle with the way his eyes traveled along Taehyung’s face which was free from the age wrinkles that Jimin had grown used to seeing. He nodded as to say your welcome, a jaded but genuine smile reaching his lips to the ends of his face.
It was difficult to gauge which one was more nervous from how Taehyung had nearly knocked over his easel various times within the stretch of setting up his supplies and the lack of stillness that fraught Jimin’s hands which were trying, and failing, to fold politely in his lap.
“This is for an art project? For school?” Jimin asked, deciding that half-empty questions fit better in the air than the awkward silence funded by the lack of proper acquaintance. Not to say he wasn’t indeed curious about this whole ordeal.
“Yeah. My professor wanted us to have someone describe their significant other to us and we have to draw them based on the description! I hope I do your partner justice.” Jimin’s heart grew warmer when the enthusiasm from Taehyung’s voice made his intentions clear. He was an aspiring artist simply using his craft to procure something emotional and raw.
Jimin was the fortunate soul Taehyung had stumbled upon during his walk home. A single, elderly man sitting on a park bench, an appropriate setting for someone Jimin’s age, had aroused some curiosity in the younger man to strike up a conversation.
The slightly hung head, the pair of kind eyes trailing the various passersby, and the astounding hint of melancholy had colored Jimin in an entirely different light than anyone Taehyung had ever met.
Whatever his story was, Taehyung made it a goal to depict it with every bit of honesty and emotion he could engender from his paintbrush.
“I think it would be hard to make anything of ___ look bad." Jimin assured, feeling his shoulders fall away from his ears and his hands finally rest atop his lap.
“___? Is that her name?” Taehyung repeated it internally a few more times in an attempt to imagine what you looked like before Jimin started on his description.
He looked over to the older man, picturing an older woman sitting beside him on that park bench. His mind meandered to what kinds of things you two would talk about, or if you two were the type to construct a haven in sweet silence. Maybe Jimin would say something that would make you laugh and you would join in on the repartee with ease.
What made you laugh? How many times have you been on a plane? Did you like the color yellow? What was your favorite genre of music? What made you cry?
The questions began to bundle like a colorful bouquet of diverse flowers, waiting to be delivered into the hands of a loved one.
“Yes. Beautiful right?” Jimin’s smile faded a bit, the only evidence of it expressed through a slight curve sitting at the ends of his mouth and the crow’s feet incising his skin much more prominently than the rest of his wrinkles.
“Very beautiful.” Taehyung decided to arm himself with one of his finer brushes. He could already feel the unwavering desire to capture the most intricate of details partly for a good grade in this class but partly for the sake of keeping true to his word.
He wanted to do you and Jimin justice. To make this nothing but ornately accurate.
“How would you describe her facial structure?” The artist positioned his arm with his brush in hand, ready to dispatch the ink amassing at the tip of the synthetic hairs to the white, empty canvas.
“Soft. Perfect to fit into my hands.” Jimin stared down to the mentioned body parts, reminiscing the countless times he would scoop your face between his palms for no reason at all other than to revere your beauty. “Round cheeks. Smooth and warm skin.”
Taehyung couldn’t resist how the pang in his heart reflexively surfaced a fond smile in reaction to Jimin’s endearing description. He peeked away from the canvas before making any initial marks and gathered the loving gaze Jimin had been directing towards his matured hands cupped around the empty space that should have been your face. Then, he knew exactly which set of emotions he should embed into this portrait.
“What about her eyes, what do they look like?” Taehyung asked to acquire another image of how he should paint you, while already outlining the basic curves of a head that would quote unquote fit perfectly in Jimin's hands.
“They were kind. They always had this sparkle in it. A real sparkle, like she trapped the moonlight in her eyes.” Suddenly, Jimin's lungs were not merely occupied with air, but with an oxygenated memorial of your eyes which made his inhalations feel weighted. “They were bright and always looked at me with trust and care. Even when they had tears in them, you could have mistaken those for diamonds.”
The image was stark in his own eyes, and if he closed them then he could have been transported back seventy years to when your wedding vows were announced to the world. How your eyes looked at him and glimmered an overwhelming beauty that nearly evaporated the over-rehearsed words from his memory. Before you could roll those moonlit pupils at his fall to silence, he hastily declared the oaths that bound his heart to yours forever as if he couldn’t stand a second longer keeping those promises in.
“Were?” Taehyung articulated thoughtfully as he could with clear indication to question the past tense manner of Jimin’s narrative.
“Yeah. She has passed.” It was still difficult to feel those words ordered as such verbalized by his tongue. They tasted bitter and stale, as if they had been waiting somewhere inside to be recognized.
He wasn't aware of how his hand was now placed against his chest until he felt the heavy throbs of his tired organ. Through this, it might be that he was searching for your heartbeat that he could once identify through the his own.
“I’m so sorry for your loss, Sir.” Taehyung’s hand almost fell away from the canvas, until reality restored his maneuvers and continued the lining of your face.
His focus was oscillating from the mostly white canvas, save for the thin strokes of black, to the man uncoated from his reserve through the smile that deepened the indentations of his face.
“Jimin. Call me Jimin.” He said, breaking whatever ice that froze the two of them in discomfort. That nervousness had melted away with the minutes until they both felt warm and comfortable.
“Okay, Jimin, could you describe anything else about her? It doesn’t have to be physical. This is more about emotion.” Taehyung’s brush had been hard at work, dutifully printing every hint of love that Jimin relayed and materializing it onto the portrait.
“Her smile was warm. The biggest one you would ever see. I swear, everyone she met noticed it. It was genuine. It was the smile of someone who never had mal intent and always ready to share her happiness to all those around her. Seeing it every day, it reminded me that, with her, I was always home.”
From the day he met you, eye contact was a difficult task to compass since your smile had always demanded his full attention. Each time you flashed your grin, he felt as if it was purposeful, the extension of your joy onto him. The way you made him feel every bit of bliss you felt because you were the type to believe everyone, especially Jimin, deserved to feel happy.
And each time he was endowed witness to your smile, it articulated his goal in life quite clearly: molding his actions into a kindle for your smile and doing everything in his humble power to cherish those angelic beams of joy.
“Whenever she would smile, your day would get a little bit better. And I was lucky enough to spend most of my life with her, so my days always got better. She always smiled. Like she knew how much it meant to me.”
“Sounds like ___ was very happy.” Taehyung said during the interval of giving shape to your lips. What remained on the canvas was the widest smile Taehyung could craft, knowing it was not nearly as big as the one Jimin described.
“She was. She was sad too, and angry. You did not want to see her angry, let me tell you.” A chuckle had fallen from his mouth as he postured the memory of your scowl to the forefront of his recollection. How you would equip this number when Jimin would do something particularly dumb, or when your kids were being scolded for reasons that didn’t seem as important now.
There was nothing that compared to how you could emote with your entire face in a poise that suggested your feelings willed your every movement. How you would scrunch your nose and your eyebrows would reach the middle of the space between them; the frown of your lips would pull your entire face lower. He would take your anger seriously at the time, but in retrospect, he would give anything to see that disgruntled expression again.
And he would simply smile, and perhaps snap a photo for a keepsake.
“I hope she was happy most of all. That’s all that matters, Taehyung. Make the ones you love happy. I hope I did that well enough.” Jimin began to question if he made you happy. One day, when he joined your parted soul, he would find that out for himself.
He knew beyond doubt that you had accomplished sparking joy into people's lives simply by being you.
“I will. That’s good advice, Jimin.” Taehyung made himself present in his wonders about you, despite how he was absent from your life.
From the way Jimin described you, he fully understood that Jimin wasn't speaking from the functions of a brain. The portion of his mind that conducted speech could have been rejected entirely. These words, the thoughtful description, the sentiment flowing from his voice were sourced straight from the heart.
One that felt incomplete without its other half.
“Do you miss her?” He had to inject a bit of courage in this question in the hopes it wouldn’t be overstepping any boundaries. Though, Jimin was ever so gentle with the way he moved through life and met Taehyung's requests with kindness so far.
“Very much.” A stout crack fissured through Jimin’s voice and prompted him to swallow down the sob ruminating in his throat. “I miss her more than anything in the world. More than the flowers miss the spring and wait for winter to pass so they may bloom again. These days, I’m just waiting for spring.”
Jimin had intertwined his hands together, pretending it could fill the hollow space of his palms just as well as your hands would. He knew though, this was an emptiness that would always remain unfulfilled the minute your heart stopped beating with his.
“It will come. Soon enough. She’s waiting for you too, I’m sure.” And your flower will bloom. Taehyung created the contours of your eyes and paid a sizable amount of attention to depicting that highly emphasized sparkle.
What would a painting of you be without those acclaimed glints of moonlight floating in your irises? It wouldn’t be a painting of you at all.
“Do you have a special someone in your life right now?” Jimin took over the role of the questioner and placed Taehyung in the position of the questionee. It was enough for now to repair his composure.
“Not at the moment, no.” The majority of his focus was fixed on the painting but spared just enough to answer Jimin’s inquiry.
“Well, whenever you find them, I hope you appreciate the small things. I never knew how much the small things mattered until ___ was gone. Like how she notoriously had every barista put extra cinnamon on her coffee drinks. When I would forget to add it, she would pretend to be mad at me. She'd roll her eyes and tell me I’m ‘losing it’ or she would say something dramatic like ‘what has this world come to, Park Jimin?’” His pause filtered the room with a peaceful property.
Jimin utilized the silence to ponder the moments he once hadn’t given as much as a second thought to. The same moments that would entrap him in a catatonic gaze on rainy days or during cold, lonely nights.
“She would still drink the whole thing, though. She was kind in that way. Never really letting those things go unappreciated.” His eyes fell to the floor, though he was not seeing the weathered carpet spread across the substructure. He saw none other than your eyes.
The moonlight he had the privilege of viewing up close and personal, and uncrowned the orbiting rock in the sky of its esteemed title.
“Now every time I see cinnamon, I think of her. Of her peculiar love of it and even though she loved cinnamon so much, she’d love the effort I put in even more. She always loved me generously.” There had been friction within Jimin’s throat that made it warm and swollen ever since he started talking about you. His words dislodged through labored projections, but his voice overtly strewn hints of sorrowful longing in each statement.
“She sounds very loving. I can’t imagine how lucky it was that you met her.” Though his eyes were trained on pressing the delicate illustrations of your face onto the canvas, his ears were employed in listening intently to Jimin.
He had no idea who you were, however, he was sure he too would have fallen in love. Of course, anyone would have done so through the perception of someone who had devoted his entire heart and life to loving you.
“How long were you two together?” He asked to obtain an addition to his bouquet of knowledge about you.
“We were married for seventy years but we dated for three years before that.” Jimin’s eyes were not alone anymore.
They loaded quite a collection of tears, barely keeping at the bay of his eyes, and the vision of your face when he proposed that the two of you should seal your love through something as trivial as a diamond ring.
It was irrational, not only the fact that pricey luxuries such as rings were well beyond his budget. Jimin knew that embellishing a silver band on your finger would not be enough to earn a lasting relationship or settle your commitment to him. A piece of jewelry could not entail the immense love harbored in his chest. The proposal wasn’t the end of a happy story, rather the beginning of a lifetime to learn and unlearn the elements of loving you.
Even the bumps in the road, knocking him or you away from each other, were never enough to conclusively sever the connection. Dedication and work knotted your heartstrings together. The biggest bump, your death, was the final blow that nearly disentangled them.
Nearly. But when Jimin said ‘until death do us part’ he never realized that vow held some false hope. Of course, he wouldn’t let you go, or rather he couldn’t let you go, even after you passed away. It wasn’t that easy when his heart synchronized with yours the moment he fell in love with you and he already decided to become someone who was worthy of loving you.
Now he was that man. Someone who matched the degree of kindness you always provided him. The man who would disregard any prior engagements if you called and needed him, rest assured you would do the same for him. The man who proudly held your hand, knowing the world envied him. The same man that was cultivated through growing beside someone that cared for every part of him, down to her last breath.
In that way, death was never a contender to part him from you.
“Wow.” Taehyung was not sure of how else to elaborate how genuinely impressed he was. “What's the secret? How did you manage to stay together for seventy years? I mean, people these days get divorces like it’s a quit button you can press when you get tired of playing the game.”
Jimin, despite the teary glaze over his eyes, pulled a laugh from his throat. Without warning, he fell into the trench of all the long-forgotten fights bred from pettiness or misunderstanding. Many of them were over financial or familial issues. And with the lens of a seventy-year perspective, Jimin traded shallow grudges for an important realization that certain things remain standing after the dust settles.
“We would fight. A lot, actually. Even in those perfect relationships, people always fight. But I remember now, if it were a fight over money or anything else that was expendable, there wasn’t a question in my mind of which to choose. Between the world and ___, I always choose her. I always choose love. It’s more important than anything because when you truly love someone, you want to understand them. You want to work through problems instead of leaving them to pile up and collect dust.”
Jimin’s eyes now settled on Taehyung, who had already been staring at Jimin, then continued with all the sincerity he could deploy.
“Taehyung, always choose them. Choose love. I know I did and I have no regrets. I know if I chose to stay angry at her, I would be wrestling to forgive myself.”
Taehyung’s face muscles felt tired, his smile’s permanence hadn’t allowed for them to rest.
“Anger, annoyance, frustration, jealousy? Those all fade away. In a week or a month, you’ll stop being angry at some point, but you will never stop being in love. So choose love. It’s a permanent fixture in your heart.”
Taehyung set his brush down, and the picture resting on the easel was completed and then some. He didn’t mind. Taehyung truly enjoyed the sentiments Jimin kindly shared with him, as it would have been far duller to paint in silence.
Not to mention, he discovered a love story that went untold by movies and fairytales. It was a true love story. Something so real, Taehyung fell in love just by capturing Jimin’s tale and translating it into visual art.
Because this image of you was what Jimin saw when he pictured you. The picture of you shrouded in abundance by the highest grade of love.
“I’m finished, would you like to see?” Taehyung lifted the canvas from its resting spot, turning it slowly since Jimin’s nod was geared with apprehension.
Jimin’s heart nearly bore a hole through his chest, and it would fall out to where you were resting. He was afraid of facing you, or any rendition of your face, since it would be the first time in two months that his eyes beheld anything resembling his late wife.
When the canvas turned, so did the final page of the story. The story Jimin had been purposefully writing with long-winded prose and repetitive words to stall the commencement of it. He wasn’t ready to let go, that is until his eyes beheld the painting which etched fruition of something that felt further from him than you.
Closure.
“It’s beautiful.” Jimin’s tears were disobediently running down his cheeks. “It looks exactly like her. My love. My ___.”
It was not simply a painting garnished under the guise of an academic assignment, but an ode to the grand love Jimin had carried in his heart for seventy years and counting.
“I’ll be sure to send it to you after it’s graded.” Taehyung declared in a decided manner, now fighting back tears of his own, though it was a losing battle since he already felt the empathetic stains wetting his face.
“Thank you.” Jimin whispered soft enough that Taehyung barely caught it, but loud enough that his gratitude glazed the painting with its finishing touch: acceptance.
Now it was time to let go.
“___.” He said once more.
Jimin realized what could emerge even after your physical existence had run dry. That, even though you were no longer alive, there was a ceaseless supply of lessons Jimin still learned from loving you. He learned he could guiltlessly reflect over the years and memories. Resonating the most with him were the ones he spent choosing something more powerful and decisive and resilient above all else. Choosing love.
It colored his world into something vibrant and enchanting. There was still an unquantifiable amount of love pouring from his chest without a hint of diminishing. It was a force that stretched its reign beyond graves and long, lonely years of mourning. This love was alive, and breathing joy into Jimin’s life. It would continue breathing joy into Taehyung’s life as well as the painting, marred with your semblance.
He also realized you can never fully fall out of love. Just as pain never departs, and one simply learns to live with it, to become stronger and versed in the realm of sorrow, one never falls out of love, you simply learn to live without them; you learn to trudge on without the deity that derived something as powerful as love through the biggest smiles, the glistening eyes, the heaps of cinnamon, the unremitting kindness, and the perpetual act of choosing love.
And that the beauty of loving you was no more breathtaking than the beauty of after you.

of mice and artblock
So, midterms happened and I abandoned this blog for a while. But now I’m back, and I come bearing mice.
*
I’ve been really struggling with finding subjects I like to draw. I’m happy to work on skeleton studies until Judgment Day to better understand anatomy, but I know I need to balance “homework” art with “for fun” art, or else risk losing motivation for learning to draw -- and I’m so used to writing fiction at this point that no subject really appeals to me artistically unless it’s got 5,000+ words of story attached (or at least some narrative/character ideas, yanno -- something for my brain to pick at). The obvious solution is to draw concept art and characters from my written stories, but I feel really intimidated by that because I’m such a beginner artist that nothing I create now will do justice to the vision I have in my head.
I need art OCs and concepts – things that I will only draw art of, and have never written a story about. Stuff that doesn’t have to match a previously established, written story, and that I can change as I learn more and my skills improve.
I ended up drawing a bunch of mice.
This was initially just a whim. Human anatomy requires a lot of skill to pull off, especially faces and hands, but mice felt more beginner-friendly to me. Admittedly, I was going for a more cartoony style as opposed to photorealism, so if you’re looking at this from a realism perspective then these are pretty poor mice. However, I don’t feel ashamed of them, which I am taking as a good sign.
Tumblr media
I kept drawing one mouse over and over. I ended up calling him Leo just because it was funny – “leo” refers to lions, but here Leo is just a little mouse. But of course, giving him a name (and a gender, incidentally) is the start of a story. Via a flight of fancy, I got it into my head that I wanted to do a painting of Leo trying to catch a big snowflake. I made some thumbnails of what I wanted the scene to look like, and then cut out a roughly 7 inch x 7 inch piece of watercolor paper from a big sheet that I had under my bed, sketched the scene in pencil, and then finished with watercolor pencils (and a white gel pen for the snowflakes). The process probably took 2.5 to 3 hours.
Tumblr media
So, now the lore is that Leo is a mouse living in a little house in an old tree at the edge of the woods, and he wears a red scarf. I did not like this painting. It seemed over-saturated and the colors didn’t quite work the way I wanted them to. I ended up watching a tutorial on color theory, and decided to redo the painting using my newfound knowledge of color schemes. I used this color palette tool to get an idea of what kinds of colors would look good together, and settled on a complementary scheme with bluish green and brownish red.
And then, everything went wrong.
I tried to redo the painting, still working traditionally. I rushed the sketch because I was so eager to get right into working with color. This time, to avoid over-saturation, I used watercolors out of a pan rather than in pencil form. Mixing the colors in the lid of the pan took a really long time because I was so picky about shades, and because I continued rushing I didn’t allow the layers enough time to dry. Leo’s scarf (now green instead of red) bled into his russet fur, and the mailbox was the wrong shape, and I tried to erase a pencil line and created a dark blotch over an area that was supposed to be white with snow – and then I gave up.
Tumblr media
I had downloaded Krita, a piece of digital drawing/painting software, a while ago, but hadn’t had any success using it because my desk isn’t big enough to accommodate both a laptop and my small tablet. Using my lap to hold the tablet was an exercise in frustration, and I knew so little about how digital art works that I just felt really overwhelmed and lost whenever I opened the program.
However, Krita (like most digital art software) has an undo button that I find very alluring, so I decided to try it again, now on a shiny new desk from Ikea that is actually big enough to support tablet and laptop together. I think just the space on the desk really made all the difference, but also I was determined to get this artwork of a mouse to a place where I felt satisfied with it.
I spent a solid 5 hours working on what ended up being a very simple colored drawing of a mouse catching a snowflake outside his little house. I barely blended anything at all, and there’s no light source that required me to shade anything – it’s just flat color. However, I really like these colors, and I think I did well (for an absolute beginner). I want to go back and add textures/shading to give an impression of depth, but I'm not sure how.
Tumblr media
Leo – like all of my figures – feels really stiff, so I also want to work on gestures/studies of mice doing things. And, thanks to the popularity of mice as lab animals and pets, there are way more reference photos of mice than I expected! Most refs depict the house mouse, Mus musculus, but I did find the work of a wildlife photographer named Dean Mason who spent 15 years photographing harvest mice (micromys minutus).
Unfortunately, all of the prior artwork in this post I had drawn almost purely from imagination, and I think it shows. I studied two mice from photos in pencil, then erased the lines until they were barely visible and tried to do the fur texture in ink (with a dip pen, so there is some unevenness when the pen was extra inky).
Tumblr media
Left is my first attempt doing the fur texture. I was more cautious with layering pen strokes, so you can see the lines of strokes fairly evenly. Right is my 2nd attempt, where I was bolder with the pen. I like these mice more than the one I created in the digital painting; these ones (especially the right) feel more Beatrix Potter-ish, which is a vibe I like.
Do I want to go back and fix the anatomy in my digital art of Leo? Yes. I also want to take another stab at doing this piece traditionally, but this time, I'd go monochrome and try to do everything in brown. However, part of me is exhausted from drawing ten million snowflakes and does not want to relive that experience with a gel pen -- I've already done it once with a tablet pen, and that was enough.
I have a hazy, far-off goal of creating a comic of Leo having adventures with another mousy friend, but that’s so far in the future that it’s not worth spending time considering right now. In the nearer future, however, Leo’s friend might become a reality – I know he’s an albino mouse (name TBD) who either escaped from a drug-testing facility (I loved The Secret of NIMH movie as a kid) or else is a pet who was dumped into the wild by a human owner who no longer wanted him. Leo is outgoing and adventurous, and this friend is shy and cautious.

DMC x Pokemon AU - Which pokemon they would choose
So an idea appeared out of nowhere in my head: If Pokemon somehow existed in the DMC universe and pokemon training and battles were officially a thing too, which pokemon would the crew choose as their companions?
For these headcanons, I will give each character two kinds of pokemon: the first one will be a pokemon they would totally choose as a friend and partner for adventure as well as competitive battles, and the other will be one they would keep at their side mostly as a cute or silly companion, whether it’s a baby pokemon or a fully evolved one, it’s one they are really fond of and always look after.
So let’s get started! More bellow the cut because it’s a really long post.
Dante
Ideal partner: Houndoom
Tumblr media
He considers Houndoom’s general appearance as cool and badass, of course he would love having a literal hellhound in his team.
If you think about it, they share lots of similarities: The same color palette, the devil motif, the fact that Dante has horns too when in DT or SDT form… it’s as if this pokemon was made with him in mind.
Dante found him when he was a little puppy Houndour. The poor thing was all alone in an alley near his shop and seeing him crying out made his heart ache.
So he brought the little one back home and nursed him. Now he’s a powerful Houndoom who loves nothing more than to fight alongside his trainer. There’s nothing that can stop those too when together.
Silly companion: Alcremie
Tumblr media
Obviously.
One reason only: Infinite strawberry sundaes.
That’s it.
Would totally have an entire team made of Alcremies. He wouldn’t even battle or anything. He just wants to enjoy his lifetime supply of strawberry sundaes.
Vergil
Ideal partner: Aegislash
Tumblr media
Vergil is a man of the sword, so it’s clear he would choose an Aegislash as his partner.
The first time he spotted this particular Honedge, he knew. He could see the great power dormant in them, so it was a matter of awakening said potential.
He trained them vigorously, making them evolve into a Doublade, and finally, into an Aegislash. To this day, not a single pokemon has managed to defeat them, the only exception being Dante and his Houndoom.
That won’t stop them though. They are both too prideful in their quest for strength and power.
Silly companion: Snom
Tumblr media
Yeaaah, this is a weird one. Snom is such a cute baby, maybe this adorableness can melt Vergil’s heart?
It was Dante who gifted his twin a Snom. To quote him: “You’re too grumpy. Maybe this cute little guy can help you ease some of that grumpiness away.”
Wherever he goes, the little baby follows behind. Vergil will never admit this out loud but he does smile at the peaceful sensation his silly friend gives him.
Also imagine him trying to pronounce their name in that nasal voice of his. SHnom.
V
Ideal partner: Corviknight, Umbreon and Dusknoir
Tumblr media
It was a tie between these pokemon since they represent V’s three demon familiars: Griffon, Shadow and Nightmare respectively.
Corviknight may have a playful personality, but during battles he’s dead serious. He’s down right merciless and enjoys tearing apart his foes.
Umbreon is as calm as a housecat, but beware! She is a fierce one and won’t think twice to attack those who step out of line. Even more ruthless than Corviknight.
Dusknoir is as mysterious as the man himself, but V still trusts them and lets them do pretty much their own thing. Despite V never giving them orders, it almost looks as if Dusknoir can understand his thoughts telepathically. No one is sure how the hell he does it though. Quite a mystery indeed.
Silly companion: Mr Rime
Tumblr media
Both wear a coat. Both carry a cane. Both love to tap dance. See what I’m getting at?
The first time V spotted a Mr Rime and witnessed their comical moves, he couldn’t help but laugh in endearment.
You will often find them enjoying a nice cup of tea together. They may speak different languages, but somehow they understand each other so perfectly.
When feeling in a dance mood, he and Mr Rime will dance together in perfect harmony and sync. Singin’ in the Rain is their favorite musical btw.
Nero
Ideal partner: Toxtricity
Tumblr media
It only made sense to grant our punk boy Nero a punk pokemon like Toxtricity.
Both share an explosive and energetic personality, as well as an identical inclination towards rock and metal music. They especially love taunting their foes by doing an air guitar together.
The way these two fight is absolutely brutal. Do not anger them, you cannot defeat them.
However, despite their looks like they could kill you, they are actually sweet cinnamon rolls in front of the right ones. Pet them, they are good bois after all.
Silly companion: Mankey
Tumblr media
Two grumpy bois grumpying around. Don’t talk to them, they are angy.
Kyrie often teases them with how identical they are. They literally share the exact same expression when angry.
Nero says it’s not funny. It is.
Little Mankey only calms down when given pets and cuddles. “Just like you Nero!” she teases again.
Trish
Ideal partner: Luxray
Tumblr media
Step aside everyone. Two bewitching and electrifying devils are coming through.
Trish was new to the world when one day she encountered a Shinx, except their fur was yellow? Wasn’t the fur supposed to be blue??
She took them to Dante and Lady for an explanation. Their eyes widened in complete awe. “Trish… it’s a shiny. You found a shiny!” “…Oh.”
Now the two are an inseparable and lethal duo. Many have made the mistake of challenging them, only to end up battered and humiliated.
Silly companion: Yamper
Tumblr media
Just look at this good boi.
A cute pupper? AND with electrical powers?! Trish is so in!
You bet she spoils her Yamper rotten. She particularly adores baby-talking her lovely companion to no end.
“Have you seen my puppy? He’s not lost or anything, I just wanted to show you how awesome he is” Yep. She did this at one point or another.
Lady
Ideal partner: Inteleon
Tumblr media
A couple of ‘Walking Arsenals’ indeed. Ready to take on any challenge they may encounter.
Lady remembers how she met her partner when they were a tiny and shy Sobble. Now that they’ve become such a strong pokemon, Lady feels so proud of their growth.
Extremely resourceful, even in dire situations. Will use all the tools at their disposition to finish their job.
Their sniper skills are unparalleled so you’d better watch out. In a battle of wits, there’s no beating this duo.
Silly companion: Eevee
Tumblr media
Lady is such an Eevee fan, her childhood dream was to befriend one and have numerous adventures together.
So when she finally got one many years later, she actually started crying happy tears. (It was a gift from Dante. He figured she deserved a companion after what happened in the Temen-ni-gru incident.)
She spends her free time playing with her adorable Eevee, there’s even a whole collection of toys for their playtime together.
If you happen to have an Evolution Stone with you, DO. NOT. COME. ANY. CLOSER. Lady adores her Eevee just how it is. You have been warned.
Kyrie
Ideal partner: Gardevoir
Tumblr media
I personally consider Kyrie as a woman with a righteous heart and a strong sense of justice just like her brother Credo, so it’s no surprise her pokemon partner is actually a Gardevoir.
Mess with them and hoo boy. So you have chosen death.
She and Gardevoir are actually among the strongest teams in the region. In fact, to this day, Nero and his Toxtricity haven’t been able to defeat these two in a pokemon battle.
Do not underestimate these girls. They can and will drag you through the mud if you dare hurt them or their loved ones.
Silly companion: Wooloo
Tumblr media
Kyrie melted at the sight of Wooloo. So soft, and adorable, and puffy!
She loves knitting, so they would be perfect to provide her with lots of top quality wool.
Once during Christmas, she donated handmade sweaters to the children at the local orphanage. Wooloo and her were so happy to help the little ones, they made it a tradition for them to do every year.
The sweaters and scarfs she knits with the help of her friend are actually very fashionable and pretty. Everyone in the crew loves showing theirs off any chance they get.
Nico
Ideal partner: Arcanine
Tumblr media
A fire pokemon with majestic fur, excellent speed and an extremely keen sense of smell. Nico knew Arcanine would be a perfect partner to have.
She can count on their powerful fire to melt the metals she needs to forge her weapons. Her works of art have been made possible thanks to them and she could not feel more thankful.
Using their olfactory sense, Arcanine can track and retrieve any demon parts or carcasses which can later be used to create Devil Arms.
Although they are not that interested in competitive battles, they’re still a very strong duo that should not be taken so lightly.
Silly companion: Rotom
Tumblr media
So one day a wild Rotom sneaked into Nico’s van, causing a ruckus everywhere. Despite the disaster, Nico was incredibly fascinated since Rotom sightings are extremely rare.
She befriended the poltergeist pokemon almost right away. She even built a device for them to inhabit (just like Ash’s Rotomdex in the anime).
Now they’re Nico’s very own pokemon assitant! Thanks to her device Rotom can communicate, take pictures and save files and notes, which is perfect for her work.
Also they’re really nice to have a chat with! Just beware the unflattering pics they may take during battles.
Lucia
Ideal partner: Absol
Tumblr media
It’s easy to see the similarities between Lucia and her Absol.
With Absol being erroneously blamed for natural disasters and Lucia being an artificial demon her creator labelled as ‘defective’, you could say they both share similar backstories. They felt outcasted by everyone else.
These two are incredibly agile fighters, using graceful and precise moves that prove to be lethal to their foes.
Personality wise they both appear to be stoic and aloof, but they’re actually very kind. They do tend to worry a lot about their friends though.
Silly companion: Espurr
Tumblr media
Espurrs are known to constantly try to control and contain their enormous psychic power with all their might. Lucia understands her cute little companion all too well.
Being with each other has helped them both a lot, their shared company feels therapeutic for them.
Also Lucia enjoys cuddling Espurr. They feel so soft like a plushie!
Often have staring contests with each other. They always end with a tie though.

2. What has been your favorite moment in the comic (so far)?
3. Who is your favorite character?
4. Which characters do like seeing interact the most?
5. What is something you like about the art? If you have a favorite illustration, please share it!

7. What do you like about the comic’s story or overall related content?
8. Overall, what do you think the comic’s strengths are?
Don’t feel inspired by the prompts? Feel free to discuss anything else that interested you!
snuffysam (Super Galaxy Knights)
I really like the flash forward aspect of the beginning - keeping the scene in the back of your mind really helps keep things tense as you see the story build towards the scene we see at the start.
(it also helps with the tone - it would be pretty jarring to go from kids stealing food from trucks to the scenes where bodies start dropping if we hadn't established that dark tone early on)
One thing I like about the comic is how the text colors switch based off languages - blue is greek, black is german, red is english, and i believe green is italian. Really makes the language switches easier to keep track of in the back of your head.
I like the comic's theme of... "your actions have consequences", essentially. There are dozens of moments where something bad happened because of one character's action or lack of action, and it's a matter of... when there are so many factors, who should be held responsible for these bad events?
RebelVampire
I like that the beginning of the comic is...more light-hearted despite the situation? I mean it's tragic and I don't mean to paint the situation lightly, but it's also kids and kids are like beacons of hope. So despite it all there were happy smiling faces. Before the chaos descended. My favorite moment in the comic so far was probably when Basil was rescuing Fotis and Wolff decides to let them go. It was a rare moment of humanity where there was no whose side is whose. Just two people doing a bro favor because neither thought a child deserved to be tortured. My favorite character is Basil. Basil really is just the down-to-earth dude he kind of finds that balance between doing what's right but with principle. And he also gets going when the going gets tough. And I'm sure nothing ever bad happened to him in this comic. My favorite characters interacting are probably Fotis and Martha right now. I like this dynamic that they're brought together by tragedy. So it's kind of interesting to see that bond, while also kind of experiencing this weird age gap where even though Fotis is much younger, he grew up almost instantly cause of tragedy. Something I like about the art is just kind of the grim color palettes. The comic is not overly bright, and I think this choice really enhances the grim situation of the comic. It also adds more of a sense of realism because WWII is serious business and was not fun at all for anybody. For themes, I love that the comic kind of explores demonization vs. humanity, especially through Wolff. It is always extremely to demonize the side you're not on, and we see Wolff both do this himself and be a recipient of it. And the comic really wants us to ask are they monsters, or are they still, unfortunately, humans doing really shitty things.
As for the comic's overall story, I love that not only is it historical in its setting, but just that the comic really throws no punches. You have people dying in gruesome ways, torture, espionage, double agents, greed, etc. Just like everything you'd expect regarding war. In regards to strengths, honestly, what I just said above. So many stories are really, really terrified to actually go deep into that grim reality that is war. And even fewer are willing to show that war very rarely has heroes since at the end, it's people killing people which is not cool. And I think this really makes the comic stand out since there are parts that are gonna stick with me for years.
Comic Tea Party
DISCUSSION PROMPTS – PART 2
9. What is your takeaway in regards to the comic’s themes about war and the horrors and tragedy that happen because of it? In regards to these themes, how do you feel about Arthur Wolff, and do you think it’s possible for him to be redeemed and/or at least forgiven?
10. What do you think the comic has to say about survival and hope, especially when humans are faced with the most horrid of circumstances? What moment stood out to you the most regarding this? Also, who do you think will survive the story?
11. Do you think anything will actually happen to Orestes in regards to his actions so far? If so, what unintended affects might occur because of whatever does happen? Additionally, what do you think will happen to his contact, Iris?
12. How do you think the events of the story will continue to change Fotis, and will it be for better or for worse? What about the other children? Given the historical base, what do you think they’ll even do once the occupation ends?
Don’t feel inspired by the prompts? Feel free to discuss anything else that interested you!
RebelVampire
My takeaway from the comic is that war sucks, nobody wins, everyone suffers, and that even good people do some terrible stuff in the name of survival. However, within all that, we're all essentially human and have the capacity for good. Which is why I feel Wolff is an important character, since he's that shining beacon that reminds us that people on the worst side of history possible can still take a step back and go, "Wait a second." As for redemption and forgiveness, I think this is a yes an no. Can he redeem and forgive himself as far as he's personally concerned? Maybe someday. Will others? Probably not in a million years. In contrast to the above, I think that the comic also has strong messages that, even in the face of desperation, humans, as a whole, have a tendency to fight and that, much like everybody in Star Wars, will always have hope. As for the moment that stood out to me the most, I think it was actually the beginning when the kids are risking everything to get supplies. They know it's dangerous, and yet they persevere and don't give up despite being who'd you think would give up first. As for who will survive, maybe Alex cause Alex is toeing the line of safety and staying out of the spy drama. I think Orestes still won't be dealt with for a while, and if anything, will be the victim of vigilante justice because someone didn't want to wait for even a sham trial. I think that they won't realize in his traitorous ways though he really did help out, and will find themselves more at odd with the Nazis. As for Iris, she probably gonna die. Cause that's what happens when you play double agent. I think the events of the story really aren't gonna do good for Fotis, and, at the very least (and assuming he's not dead), he's going to be bitter and have a ton of PTSD. Probably the same for all the children, and I think overall they'll just feel lost once the occupation ends cause normalcy forms fast.
Tantz Aerine (Without Moonlight)
Thank you so much for all the thoughtful analysis and commentary @RebelVampire ! I'm so glad that you have found all these themes in my story
Comic Tea Party
DISCUSSION PROMPTS – PART 3
13. What are you most looking forward to seeing in regards to the comic?
14. Any final words of encouragement for the comic?
Don’t feel inspired by the prompts? Feel free to discuss anything else that interested you!
RebelVampire
I am most looking forward to seeing if Fotis has some epiphany about the horrors of the path he's on. Right now I kind of think he's just kind of...going through the motions and acting mostly on anger. And so I'm interested to see if this will be the case throughout the rest of the story or if at some point his brain stops for a moment and goes "Hey wait a minute these are some pretty serious implications." I think either could change how his character development proceeds. My final words are that I admire this comic's bravery and risks. A lot of creators don't want to write about things like WWII because it's still a little too close to home and painful. But I think these topics are important to show with historical fiction cause not only is it an opportunity to teach about lesser known history in greater detail, but an opportunity to otherwise humanize an event that comes off different when you're just reading facts in a book. So bravo to this comic for doing that.
Tantz Aerine (Without Moonlight)
@RebelVampire Thank you so much! You honour me. Researching this comic has been both a revelation and a painful affair. As for Fotis, you're very right he IS very angry and very grieved at this point in time. We'll see how he will be soon! I can't begin to say how much your words warm my heart thank you again.

Finally got the girlies done! :D!! Click for better quality!
Tumblr media
This is Karite Shinsoroki, Hinagiku Bakugo-Midoriya, and Tami Togata!
I definetly did not do Tami's adorable ass outfit justice here-
There's a lot of things wrong with the outfits, but I couldn't really change;
Karite usually has a greenish color sweater she wears around her elbows, but that's very hard to draw and I didn't know how to layer the hair and everything, and not hide her!
Hinagiku should be wearing All Might merch.
Tami almost always is wearing the same cape that Tamaki wears. It just goes down to her knees, so I obviously didn't draw it since I want you to see her.
Quirks:
Karite ~ Loan
Whenever she brainwashes someone, either her ice or her fire gets transfered to them. She can't use the person's original quirk, she has to give one of her's up.
She can't choose whether she gives them ice or fire, it's a 50/50 chance, and so she usually won't make plans that aren't flexible in that aspect.
She can't use whichever quirk she gives up.
She activates the brainwashing the same way Shinso does.
Hinagiku ~ Explosion
Her sweat, tears, and pretty much everything else is the same nitroglycerin like substance as her father.
Smells even more like caramel than he does.
Tami ~ Permiation/Manifest
Nothing special; just both her dad's quirks. She has a lot more trouble using both at the same time, however, and she much prefers Permiation.
Appearances
Karite:
She has tanned skin, blue/purple and grey/purple eyes, and dark purple hair with red and white at the tips on the left and right sides respectively.
She really likes high waisted shorts with tank tops, and those are usually in greyscale, with a poofy greenish jacket to add some color.
Rocks those moccasins.
Hinagiku:
She has green eyes, pale skin, and green hair at the top with pristine blond further down, worn in two ponytails that she drapes over her shoulders.
Almost always seen in All Might merch. She's still holding onto him after over a decade.
When she's not, she doesn't have the best fashion sense and will throw a shirt under one of the many cute suspender-skirts she has.
Of course, you can't forget her bright red shoes that go with nothing she wears, but refuses to change!
Tami
Tami is a mini Tamaki — dark indigo eyes, darker skin, and indigo hair that she wears like Mirio used to in high school.
She likes cute strapless dresses that go down to a bit above her knees, and will wear a lighter color long sleeve shirt over it. They usually have some other poofy transparent fabric over those sleeves, which she only wears cos she thinks it's adorable. And it is.
She's usually wearing sandals, and her usually color palette is warm colors with a bit of very whitish-greens as accents or backgrounds.
Fun facts! :D
- Tami's cape is made with the fibers of her hair, so it permeates with her just like Mirio's cosume does!
She's actually allowed to wear the cape + hood in school as long as it's not over her head, since it helps with her self-consciousness, most of her being covered up by it.
- Mirio finds it really funny that Tami's doing the same thing with her hair as he did. She used to wear it just like Tamaki does, and then she switched to a half ponytail, and she's gone back to the Tamaki look a few times.
- Tami is demisexual and currently questioning whether she likes Hinagiku back.
Despite her having.. Y'know... Two fathers, she's still nervous to come out and hasn't yet. It's alright, Tami, take your time.
- Since Tamaki is a name you could use for either gender, Mirio really wanted to name her Tamaki!
But Tamaki got nervous, and asked the what if's like 'what if we break up and you have to say my name?'
Other than that, though, it would be confusing.
So they took the first letter of each of their names and boom! たミ! Tami!
- She has an incredible amount of respect for both dads, and she designed her hero costume after both of them.
And her fighting style. She sinks into the ground, then seems to warp just like Mirio does. Go for the gut!
- She has the same anxiety as Tamaki, it's really bad. But she still tries to smile! She doesn't want people to worry about her, so she smiles!
It also helps her whenever she's heroing, by making her feel like she can get through anything, and making the people she's saving feel safer.
But of course, like everything, this has a downside.
She hates it whenever she can't force her smiles and will get overwhelmingly angry with herself if she can't find a reason to smile about a situation.
~ Hinagiku is actually kind of an asshole, she just doesn't realize she's being really mean sometimes.
It used to really hurt her, because she had trouble keeping friends, and she's very scared of loosing Tami now.
Though, she's getting better at pinpointing behavior, apologising, and keeping an eye out for it.
~ She's still questioning. When she got close to Tami, she realized that all her previous 'crushes' weren't crushes at all! She thought she was pansexual, but she's not sure now.
She doesn't know the term for only being attracted to one person. She doesn't find any other girls pretty in that way, or boys handsome in that way.
~ Isn't very good with her volume due to her quirk. Needs and has hearing aids. Blew her ears-
She can hear without them, but just barely, and she won't be able to decipher what you're saying. She does know you're talking, though.
~ for being Japanese, she's very touchy-feely!
She loves hugs and holding hands and never leaves Tami alone even when there in public.
However, she can recognize when Tami doesn't want her to, and will stop. She's very observant in this way.
~ She's a hero fanatic. She knows everything about them all, including their real names.
She's still in absolute awe of (who she seee as) her girlfriend being the daughter of the #1 hero couple!!
And of course she's in awe of hereself being the daughter of the #1 standalone hero.
~ Hina knows sign language! When she realized she was loosing her hearing, she quickly picked up some books and started learning for her life.
It's also to understand her best friend Ogoe-de, who developed a vocal condition called aphonia when they were around four. She has a lot of trouble understanding why he's so sad about that, but it's probably because of his quirk depending on hisbvoice and him being loud. Poor thing. I'll get to him when I drae the guys.
Them being her, Karite, and him. They've known each other for a while!
• Karite is like super smart.
She's got really good problem solving skills, planning ahead, and is just snarr in general.
Because of this high bar, anything even slightly below it leaves her on her knees.
Almost literally.
• She is bisexual with a preference toward men.
Loves Ogoe-de more than she loves herself-
She hasn't told her dads about her sexuality, but she's not hiding it at all. She doesn't see the need to make it a big deal, and do she doesn't. They've never properly had a talk about it and she doesn't feel they need to.
• She's very aloof and barely shows emotions. Just like her dads.
Only exception is around her friends, where she's surprisingly sassy.
• She keeps Hinagiku under control.
“Stop harrassing Tami”
“I'm loving her!!”
• She uses the same tricks that Shinso used when he was young.
“Dad can we get McDonald's”
• She doesn't use her power willy nilly, though.
• Whenever they train, Hinagiku is usually he one she brainwashes. Both because she's very agile and because... She's really damn easy to brainwash.
She does volenteer, though! Karite wouldn't do that to her if she didn't allow it.
Ogoe-de doesn't understand why she doesn't just use him, and she tells him it's because he doesn't need the help of her quirk to become a good hero.
He disagrees.
It's one of the only things they don't agree upon, but they're working on it.
The boys and villians are coming soon, as well as the girl's hero costumes!

Now that May, Myself and I is over I’d like to reflect on this month a little bit. This project was super interesting to me so i’ll talk about every day
Day one (running) had to be a homage to Carrie Hope Fletcher, it was my only idea and felt like the right way to kick off the month
Day 2 (star) might just be my least favorite of all, not only because I was not super exited but also bc the execution is not great. I would normally never post it but the fun thing about this kind of project it that I can push myself
Day 3 (donuts) came with the conclusion that I like to draw. Was that obvious to anyone else? Not to me lmao. I just had so much fun with the white donut and I don’t even like donuts so that was exciting. Feels like something big, I was wondering for a wile and now I finally have an answer
Day 4 (red lips) isis one of my favorites and I didn’t even plan it a lot, it just happened. I usually have a very clear idea of what I want the end result to look like but this one happened very organically
Day 5 (eggs) is cute as hell imo. i was really excited when i had this idea
For Day 6 (weight) I just had to make some Luther fan art because that’s one of my favorite choices of character design. He is a big guy who carries the word on his shoulders, it’s a lot of weight
Day 7 (salty) freaked me out a bit tbh because I only had the mermaid idea but I felt like I couldn’t do it justice. I almost didn’t post it but again, it’s about putting myself out there
Day 8 (pranks) was easy and felt right to make some fan content about the Weasley twins again, trow back to my 2012 fic lmao
Day 9 (umbrella) just had to be about TUA, but the idea to do the totoro rain scene came later. I wasn’t expecting to do two fan arts of Luther but he is big and five is small so it fits and I love how it turned out. It was also fun to explore the comics style, I love Gabriel Ba’s work
Day 10 (bodies) is about my own relationship with body hair, so that was a obvious choice. I’m in a very happy place with my body at the moment and feel like I’m finally caring for it for the first time ever, but the body hair is still a struggle and I’m exploring with it. This day was also part of this exploration
Day 11 (sunflowers) is the most personal of them all. It’s my cousin who I love a lot and she planted a sunflower earlier this year so it fit perfectly
Day 12 (storms) looks cool, I struggled with the video colors so had to change a bit and I’m happy with how Kirstin turned out
Day 13 (little) was so funny to me and I feel like is seriously underrated lmao. It’s moomin! It’s John mulaney! Y’all are supposed to love that shit
Day 14 (curtains) was hard. I was so uninspired and it looks rough
Day 15 (black and white) looks cute. Every time I read the prompt list the song started playing in my had so it had to be
Day 16 (conscience) was also very personal because it carries a lot o weight to me and basically shaped who I am so there’s that. I like the end result
Day 17 (luck) was bad lol. I only had the idea very late and was not feeling so good, but it looks cool! The background was from another danger days fan art I did earlier this year and it was my first time mixing media like this
Day 18 (sparkles) was easy to choose and I like it
Day 19 (Myself) was a challenge! I wasn’t sure where I was going with it tbh but feels right
Day 20 (mundane) is honestly one of my favorites. I just love Mitch so much and he is anything but mundane so I wanted to play with it. The color palette came from his horny demon tattoo and I wanted to do some supernatural stuff but subtle, so mostly on the shadow. It looks really good in my humble opinion lol
Day 21 (space) is another one that I love. I wasn’t sure what to do with this prompt because my first idea was something that I still relate a lot with my ex and I’m not quite there yet to reclaim and not think about him. Lucky I couldn’t stop listening to thank u, next and ari gave me some inspiration. The color palette of this one is the nasa logo
Day 22 (bloom) was maybe the first idea I had for this month lol. I just love the album in general and this song in particular and it looks exactly how I hoped it would
Day 23 (kindness) was terrible, probably because I’m very unkind to myself. I make bulbasaur because he makes me happy and he is great but honestly it was a bad day
For Day 24 (letters) I was going to be sappy and write a letter to myself instead of drawing something but Sza saved me and I did her supermodel look instead. I still listen to this album a lot and it hits home for me
Day 25 (moon) was also easy. I love avatar, I love Yue, it looks just how I wanted it to look
Day 26 (Jekyll and Hyde) was challenging bc I’m not super familiar with it and I was going to read the novel but was not in the mood lol. I did listen to the musical tho and confrontation reminded of left brain right brain By bo burnham. What. is one of my favorite stand ups of all time so I used this as an excuse to watch it again. It fits tho, I’m happy with it
Day 27 (circles) is basically a redraw of one of my inktober posts. I was not feeling inspired but it looks better than the first one so there’s that
Day 28 (chaos) is all about my mental health and I think it translated it well. The colors are not the ones I usually reach for but that was cool and different. I think this one really stands out
Day 29 (praise) is the one day I skipped. I was feeling bad and had nothing, zero ideas. So I didn’t push it. It was a day to remind myself that this is a challenge but it’s supposed to be fun, it’s something I’m doing for myself
On Day 30 (apologies) I woke up feeling terrible and scared so I decided to listen to some soft music to calm down. That did Not work lmao, so I listened to my chemical romance and the used instead. This empty with you quote was on my IM messenger for a long time and it fit with both the prompt and my mood
Day 31 (Hope) I came full circle and made another Carrie Hope fletcher fan art. I talked a lot already about how I look up to Carrie, so that was a perfect way to finish this month

My pilot survey response for tomorrow under the cut! I could write a whole separate essay on things I didn’t like about sweet enchantment, but heres a hot 1.5k about social issues.
Sweet enchantments has as solid a premise as any other series. I wasn’t especially excited about the high concept, but I’ve always maintained that execution is much more important than format. So I was really looking forward to see what your team would do. I played both routes, even though I’m not attracted to men, because I wanted a fuller picture of the lore. Despite wanting to love sweet enchantments, I’ve found its institutional problems to be too severe. As a survey inherently invites critical engagement, I hope you can keep an open mind to examining these problems.
Sweet enchantments was a strange kind of cognitive dissonance. It’s played as a light hearted café drama, but every element reads as a horror story. And not just because of the customer service work, or the kidnapping. Its implications about race and relationship dynamics were frightening. The lovestruck team has shown that they care deeply about respecting issues of race, sexuality and gender, class, and trauma, so I’m assuming a level of base knowledge here. You know how deeply fiction interacts with life. It’s understood.
To start, Lucien’s route is fun, but the magical alternate world where racism as we know it might not exist isn’t an excuse for how he’s treated as a character of color in our world. His first cg is massively whitewashed, and while the others are better they’re not great. In that first cg he looks vaguely tan, not like the dark skinned black man that he is. Lightening a character’s skin this way is not only unprofessional as an artist, but also as a habit comes from racist norms.
You need to have a sit-down conversation with your artists about drawing people of color. Because while Lucien is the worst whitewashed, he’s not the first. We were all socialized with white beauty standards, but that’s not an excuse to persist with these norms. It’s a demand to resist them. To put it simply, prioritizing light skin and white European features is bad, even if it’s what we’ve been taught. Artists have the ability to look at reference material, to study what they don’t know about brown skin. Art is created. Everything that is done is done intentionally. Palette, filter, and lighting are all generated by the artist, and they don’t exist in actual space. This is not a case of bright lighting. The lighting isn’t real. Even if it were, that’s not how bright light looks on brown skin. The perceived value is just too far from the local value.
Here’s a video on rendering black skin-( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALIBrFzIQ8s)The dude’s clearly a little awkward talking about it, but it’s sweet and technically sound. For more on how lighting black skin works in real space, mic.com has an article called ‘keeping insecure lit:cinematographer Ava Berkofsky on properly lighting black faces’
Runa’s problems are more in the narrative. Many of the lovestruck routes I’ve read are excellent about respecting consent. It’s even been the focus of multiple narratives. So I was surprised by the active use of charm magic here. Please put a pin in this thought- it’s important to pay attention to real life allegories for narrative elements. They will always read as intentional connections. In this case, charm magic jumped out immediately to me as a consent issue. Please at this point jump to planned parenthood’s FRIES- consent must be freely given, reversible, informed, enthusiastic, and specific. By these standards consent cannot exist under charm magic, the same way it cannot exist in any other impaired state of mind. I know this thought wasn’t in any of the producer’s minds, but Runa’s charm magic has the ability to be a magical allegory for a date rape drug. This was a risky choice considering the predatory lesbian stereotype, but I assumed the route would work around it. Unfortunately, her last batch of episodes revealed that she has used her charm magic. Her action on Kamila, to magically intoxicate and coerce her into a relationship that quite probably included sex, is an act of sexual assault. For what it’s worth, Kamila coercing the mc into a kiss is sexual assault as well, and was incredibly unwise to inflict on the players, who have their own traumas. I urge you to not go any further with this route. Oversight that it may have been, Runa is a sex offender. Lovestruck can’t encourage forming any kind of relationship with a rapist.
Individual routes aside, the premise of sweet enchantments has its issues. The choice to set the café as a prison was tone deaf. Particularly troubling is the fact that this prison is mostly inhabited by people of color. The American prison system grew out of slavery and to this day exploits the free labor of black people in particular, and brown people at large. If you need a short introduction, Jaron Browne has an article called ‘Rooted in Slavery: Prison Labor Exploitation’. There is at most one white prisoner in sweet enchantments- I’m not clear on Roman’s race. To have the café set up as the free labor of these prisoners of color, and then on top of that introduce a white mc to save them from their past, is incredibly concerning. Glorifying white crime wouldn’t have been good either, but that’s where we get into the complexity of the penal system being too much. There’s no good way to do this plot.
The penal system is not a light subject. Once again, real world allegories matter- no matter what you do, this is not a new prison system that you’re making up. It will always run in parallel to real life. And prison in America, the country you’re based in, is a corrupt, politically complex, broken, racist system that you can’t hope to create media about with the kind of levity this series is curating. You do not have time to talk about privatized prison, or the school to prison pipeline. Watching orange is the new black is not sufficient research. Nodding to mass incarceration is not effective social commentary. I don’t mean to say that you can’t address the penal system. Lovestruck has handled a lot of complex heavy themes. But the light hearted tone and surface level treatment sweet enchantments is coming at it with can’t do the topic justice.
Also, I realize magical racism is a well-trodden road, but that doesn’t make it good. The prohibition of human/magician relationships in particular hit me hard. The real life equivalent here is anti-miscegenation laws. In my own life, these laws were why my grandparents had to leave the state to get married. These issues have not yet been rendered purely historical. They’re recent, and present in the minds of the public. Real life allegories matter. You can’t have a plot about races not being able to legally marry without invoking real life eugenics and institutional racism. This is another story that could theoretically be done, but never as a fun, quirky subplot as I fear it is in sweet enchantments.
Someone had the forethought to make Liora the warden and I appreciate that. I appreciate that there are so many poc characters in this series, and I’m really hopeful that that’s the norm going forward, which seems likely considering other recent series. Lovestruck is still miles ahead of many other stories. But effective representation requires consideration of the characters’ identities. In this case, not fully considering the implications of the forms of representation in sweet enchantments created some huge misunderstandings and upsetting themes. Diversity without thought is better than no diversity, but still less than true inclusion. It’s a bigger question than percentages. The other day I heard Dr. Dafina-Lazarus Stewart speak, and there’s something they said that I think explains it well. To paraphrase- diversity asks who sits at the table. But inclusion needs to ask, whose seat at that table is in danger? Whose ideas are considered? Who is made to feel that they belong?
Originally, I was going to write this response focusing on ways that sweet enchantments can improve. Lovestruck has yet to actually drop a pilot series, so it seemed like the most efficient option. And in my initial impressions there were several nice things about sweet enchantments that could stand to be played up- the patisserie in Lucien’s route is lovely and well researched, and the plot of overcoming the food critic is fun. Nothing in Runa’s route was super appealing to me, but I appreciated the niche her character would fill. Female characters should be able to have a wide range of personalities, including abrasive ones. But these are little consolation in the face of its larger problems. Sweet enchantment is a minefield of sensitive issues that deserve respect, care, and time that you can’t give to make it even acceptable. While I recognize you’ve already invested time and resources in the series, it needs to be dropped. If you can’t drop this pilot, then there’s no pilot you can.

{How To Dress Similarly To Your Favorite Cartoon Characters Pt.2 (Using Five Examples!)}
Hello there!
My name is Arabella but you can call me Arry, if it’s easier. I don’t know about you but I basically grew up on cartoons. I watched Cartoon Network all day and I used to get so much inspiration from cartoon characters that probably followed me into my older years. Personality and fashion-wise. Have you ever wanted to dress similar to one of your favorite cartoon characters yet not wanting to look like a cosplay or costume? Well, you’ve come to the right gal because that is exactly what I am going to be helping you with but before I get onto the five examples, we must go over some basic knowledge. Fashion can say a lot about a character, especially in cartoons where the clothes rarely change. It has to be iconic yet true to the personality being demonstrated in some sense. Five things go into analyzing and copying a cartoon characters style: 1) Color Palette 2) Aesthetic 3) Overall Impression 4) Fashion Items 5) How It Shapes Their Personality? These are five things we are going to keep in mind during our five examples. Let’s invade this topic.
(Nazz)
Nazz from Ed Edd n’ Eddy is probably one of the easiest old cartoon characters to make modern. Especially since her style has come back into trend with layering. Now I didn't grow up with Ed Edd n’ Eddy because my mother was fearful that I would develop behavior similar to the boys. But whenever I did see images of it or short scenes, I loved Nazz’s fashion (next to Marie’s). Starting with the first thing to think about when recreating a style of any cartoon character, color palette. A color palette is quite important especially when it comes to cartoon characters because these colors can be forever associated with this character. Nazz’s color palette includes black, white, denim, red, and occasionally green. These colors are great because they can go great with each other and makes a strong color palette. Nazz’s aesthetic is a mixture between Girl Next Door and Tomboy. She has boyish elements that allows her to be ‘one of the boys’ yet she also has a fun, flirty girly side. The third thing to consider is the overall impression of their clothes to the world around them. Now this may seem odd but this is worth consideration because it depends on how you want to be taken. As people judge upon appearances and your clothes can say a lot about you. Nazz’s overall impression and how it makes people see her is that Nazz is seen as very attractive and everyone wants to hang out with her. She’s the female character that has a lot of friends and is overall popular and kind. She isn’t the stereotypical mean girl despite dressing nice and being friends with a lot of people. She breaks that stereotype and shows that you can be cool yet nice. The fourth thing to consider is fashion items, unless you are planning on copying Nazz’s style piece by piece. It is great to really observe it and take pieces of it that may fit into her character yet is good for everyday use and not a cosplay. Remember, it’s all about inspiration. With Nazz, I recommend for tops, basic plain color shirts, crop tops, ringer tees, cropped sweaters, and cami tops. For bottoms, high waisted shorts, basic jeans or ripped jeans, flared jeans, and pleated skirts. For shoes, sneakers like Vans or Converse. For accessories, a quirky pair of sunglasses. And last but not least, the fifth thing to consider is how does her clothes shape her personality? Nazz’s clothes shape her personality in a sense of how she wants to look good. Nazz is very particular on how she looks and despite being confident, is upset if she looks anything but good. Her appearance is very important to her. It shapes her personality in how she likes hanging out with boys more so over girls in the show and is seen as one of the boys due to how her clothes aren’t overly feminine. She’s a great beginner choice for people who want to try this out.
(Mandy)
Ah yes, the girl I aspired to be when I was younger and probably scared my mother some more. Mandy from Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. This is a fun character because her outfit… is completely different from her personality. She wears a pink flower dress, mary-janes and a headband. She looks like an innocent, girly girl but Mandy is evil. She’s a good type of evil but is still evil. Mandy’s color palette depends on where you want to take from it but I gathered white, black, pale pink, pale blue & pale yellow (counting the flower) and purple (her eyeshadow, at times). But if I was going to dress similarly, I would just do white, black and pale pink as the other colors are mere colors compared to those main three. Mandy doesn’t exactly have an aesthetic instead I guess she would be gothic with pink and a sort of doll-like quality. Mandy’s overall impression is that people mistake her for being sweet and innocent although her parents are terrified of her, everyone is mostly terrified of her. A grim reaper is terrified of her. Her clothes are deceiving but everyone knows that she is a very unhappy person due to her constant frown which was even in there inside the womb. Now onto the fun part, clothing choices. For jackets, I would suggest something like a Lazy Oaf jacket style (like their chore jackets) and oversized cardigans. For tops, mock necks, crop tops, layered shirts with a mock-neck under a shirt. Also pinafore dresses and a-line dresses. For bottoms, high-waisted shorts and pleated skirts. For shoes, mary-janes or sneakers. And for accessories, always have a headband on and maybe some skeleton or creepy accessories like a coffin backpack. Mandy’s clothing shapes her personality in a way for humor, she’s this scary person who can almost be a villain yet edges on being an anti-hero at most. It’s complete satire that she looks sweet and innocent with a gothic personality. So have fun with it because if anything, she shows that it’s not what is on the outside that counts after all. There’s a very creepy personality behind that color of pink.
(Sam Manson)
Another favorite female character of mine. Okay, let’s say… that you don’t like pink or want to be a secret Goth. There is plenty of gothic female characters to choose from. But one of my favorites has always been Sam Manson from Danny Phantom. I mean, I loved that show in general. And I loved Sam’s design, even though I wasn’t allowed to wear crop-tops til I turned 18. Her color palette is purple, green, black. You’ve noticed that cartoon characters always seem to have a simple color palette. And of course, Sam’s aesthetic is gothic, even though she could also be eco-goth since I remember an episode of her wanting to save the Earth and becoming a vegetarian. For fashion choices, hm. For jackets, I feel like she would wear hoodies, oversized black denim jackets, and long coats or even a varsity jacket. For tops, crop-tops, band tees, mock-necks, muscle tees, fishnet tops and sheer tops with something underneath. If she wore a dress, it would probably be black and an a-line, once again with a mock-neck. For bottoms, plaid skirts, checkered shirts, pleated skirts, ripped jeans with fishnets underneath, high-waisted shorts. For shoes, Doc Martens, sneakers, mary-janes and platforms. For accessories, knee-high socks, fishnets, tights, chokers, patches and enamel pins, belt, and a cool backpack. Sam’s overall impression is kind of hard to sum up in a small summary since Danny Phantom is so complex so I recommend watching the show to get a better idea but it’s never really brought up as a main point in her character how she dresses. She’s a great gothic character for inspiration though.
(Valhallen)
Okay now the first three characters and five characters of my last post were all girls. For those, who may not know Valhallen is a male character from “Justice Friends” which originated as a short from “Dexter’s Laboratory”, are you following me? Let’s say you’re a dude or you want to dress similar to a dude character. Valhallen is a great character to start with as he is a very simple character to modernized because you don’t even really have to go off his sense of style to dress similar to him. His color palette consists of black, yellow, and silver. Pretty simple. His aesthetic is kind of surfer mixed with metalhead mixed with Nordic god. He was created to be a parody of Thor. Which he succeeds greatly with. What is the overall impression of Valhallen? Well, he is quite a ladies man. He is definitely seen as the more attractive member. Valhallen doesn’t have much of an overall impression except the fact that the ladies love him from all realms and he is a fan favorite character. Onto the fun part! Fashion items. Now I chose Valhallen, because no offense but he does have a feminine touch on clothing that can easily be feminized. The dude wears a midriff. For jackets, denim jackets would suit, perhaps with patches of your favorite metal bands or enamel pins. For tops, crop-tops, midriffs, band tees, muscle tees, fishnet or sheer tops with something underneath, cropped camis. Don’t be afraid to show a lot of skin on your upper body. For bottoms, ripped jeans, basic jeans, high waisted shorts, bell bottoms. For shoes, knee high boots. For accessories, headpieces, fingerless gloves, studded jewelry, spiked belts. How does his clothes shape his personality? Well, he’s The Viking God of Rock. He has to look the part and this is basic metalhead fashion with God twists similar to Thor. He’s a goofy character who is hilariously rad and doesn’t take himself too seriously and his clothes show that. He’s less out there than Major Glory but can stand out more than The Infraggable Krunk. He’s obviously the more free-spirited one who isn’t afraid to be himself.
(Judy Jetson)
Here is what I like to call expert mode because unlike the other four who have easily modernized looks. Judy is from the future yet has a vintage twist. Her clothes are not something a typical teenager or young adult would wear in this day and age. I mean, someone who isn’t as weird as me. So you have to kind of reinvent her and make her suit your taste yet keep elements about her that are amazing and what makes her lovely. Judy’s color palette is pale pink, red (in some lighting), darker pink, white and black. If anyone asks you about a known fact of me… I love pink with red and pink with black. I also love pink on pink. And Judy Jetson has two of my favorite pinks where it’s not Barbie Pink or Too Pink. The overall impression of Judy, well she’s seen as the teenage girl of the future. She’s boy-crazy, fun, has exciting hobbies, can be quite moody and sassy. She loves dancing, attends high school and spends her evening listening to her favorite boy bands. Parts of Judy have travelled into the future as I related to her a lot when I was sixteen. And still do! She can get out of hand sometimes and I feel like all girls do, even into early adult years. I’ve had my moments where I have overreacted. Onto fashion items! Now, with Judy, as I said before, you are going to have to reimagine outfits for her. With jackets, I suggest fit and flare, perhaps long jackets, something to show off the figure however. With tops, crop-tops, mock necks, fitted tops, fun bodysuits, sheer tops, about anything that is cool. With bottoms, flared skirts or pleated skirts, mini skirts, high-waisted shorts, suspender pants, pants or jeans. For dresses, pinafores, figure hugging, a-line. For shoes, sneakers, flats, boots, platforms. A tip for seeming more futuristic is adding in color palette fitting metallics and holographic. For accessories, tights, knee high socks, circle purses, star shaped things, hair bows, headbands, funky sunglasses, vintage gloves, roller-skates if you skate.  How does Judy’s clothes shape her personality? Well, her outfit is very youthful compared to her mother’s. She has more of a spark and quirky sense. Her clothes really show that she is bubbly and charismatic. She is out of this world. Something that I feel like girls should be more confident to try to be. To be unapologetically themselves. Just because her outfit isn’t exactly the future creators in the 60s were thinking of. It doesn’t mean that we can’t carry traits into this world.
That was how to dress similarly to your favorite cartoon characters, part two! If you want to see part one, click here! Feel free to follow for more posts like this. Also feel free to like and reblog if you enjoyed it! I may turn this into a series as they are always a lot of fun. Just be you and have fun with fashion! I post every Wednesday and Saturday so I will see you on Wednesday! Peace out!

HOW TO SELECT THE BEST MARBLE, GRANITE AND NATURAL STONE FOR YOUR HOME VILLA HOTEL AND PROJECT.
HOW TO SELECT THE BEST MARBLE, GRANITE AND NATURAL STONE FOR YOUR HOME VILLA HOTEL AND PROJECT.
We know how overwhelming it is to design a new home or redecorate an old one. The flooring, walls, countertops are only some of the big details that need to be considered thoroughly. But these are the details that we can assist you with. By helping you choose the right marble, granite and onyx for your home. From selection to execution The Bhandari Marble is your one-stop solution.
Tumblr media
MAKE YOUR DECISION FRUITFUL BY PURCHASING THE RIGHT BUILDING STONE
Naturally, the first thing you see in natural stone is its appearance. The colour, texture and pattern are of primary importance to enhance the overall appeal of a given space. Hence, your inquiry for natural stone starts from the unique look and feel offered by a stone.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT NATURAL STONE FOR YOUR SPACE?
Understand your needs. When selecting natural stone, you should look for a product with a specific application in mind. Select an appropriate finish. With so many stone types available from granite and limestone to travertine, marble and sandstone it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Selecting natural stone for the interior or exterior of your home is a very personal decision. While you might be drawn to a particular stone for its aesthetics, there are factors you need to consider that could make some types better suited than others. Not only will you need to consider how the stone looks, but also its suitability for your individual application.
1- COLOUR
Lastly, determine the color palette that will suit the interior or exterior of your home. Taking a sample of your stone choices and placing them against other materials, fabrics and paint colors will help you choose a stone that will enhance your space.
Ask yourself what you want from a stone in regards to color. Do you want a stone with little tonal variation and natural textures? Are you looking for a more rugged, textural stone with strong warm hues of varying colors? Are you drawn to greys, warm natural earthy tones or a lighter surface?
Regardless of what natural stone you choose, remember there are always going to be some variations in tones and textures that are natures imperfections.
2- PATTERN
The format of your stone will have a large impact on the overall look and feel of your space. Most natural stone flooring and walling will come in a variety of sizes and profiles to suit your requirements. you could choose a narrow, linear stone for a contemporary feature wall or a traditional format, textured stone cladding for a classic look. When deciding on the format and size, it’s also worth considering it in relation to the overall scale of your room.
Depending on the stone and application, the stone may also be laid in patterns for added visual effect. Most patterns can be customized to suit your needs and the aesthetic you’re seeking to create. Or you could opt for a more organic look by choosing a stone such as flagstone or free form walling.
3- FINISH
There are various finish options available for natural stone which will impact the appearance and performance of the material. Some of the finishes you may come across when selecting natural stone are honed, brushed, bush hammered, sawn, split, polished, leathered or antique.
If you’re planning a natural stone feature wall, the finish you choose will mainly affect the aesthetics. However, if you’re using stone as flooring, the texture will impact how it functions as well as its appearance.  A sawn finish, for example, is much more suitable in a wet area than honed or polished due to its non-slip quality.
4- ORIGN
Marble, granite and onyx come from different areas across the world and the origin plays a significant role in determining the quality of the stone. It is also very fascinating to know where your chosen slab came from and its history. If you are looking for white marble like the Carrara, Statuario, Bianco Lasa, you have to go no further than The Bhandari Marble World.
5- BEST MANUFACTURER AND SUPPLIER
Bhandari Marble World is the best manufacturer and supplier now a days.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT NATURAL STONE CONSIDERING PRACTICALITY
Every piece of natural stone is as unique as a fingerprint, with a physical structure and chemical composition shaped by millions of years of geological processes. This endless complexity translates to an incredible variation in colour, appearance and performance, even for stones of the same kind.
The Art domus team handpicks stone from all over the world, for outstanding beauty and durability, and will guide you in selecting the stone best matched to your aesthetic preferences and functional needs. But it’s important that you also have a good understanding of this compelling natural material before you make a purchase.
LOCATION AND ENVIRONMENT
TYPE OF STONE
A large part of the attraction of any natural material is its tendency to change in appearance over time, and develop a patina that tells the story of its use. Natural stone is no exception, and there are three fundamental qualities that influence how readily these changes occur: the stone’s hardness, which will determine how durable it is in different applications; how readily it absorbs oils, which can darken the stone; and how reactive it is to acids like citrus juice and vinegar, which can leave white “acid etching” marks.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Every stone follows a standard that determines its usage in a specific space. Technical details like the absorption rate, hardness, grade of the stone and thickness of the stone slab are essential factors to look for. A grade of the stone determines its structural capability. Higher grade stone offers higher resistance to chipping and cracking. Besides, thicker stones are more durable and easier to install. So, they are usually used throughout the home. Thinner slabs are apt for decorative purposes.
COST
The price of the stone and the cost of installation are major factors to take into account. When choosing the stone, get a free estimation from different marble and granite suppliers before making the final purchase decision.
VARIATION/ MAINTENANCE
Marble is probably the most popular natural stone in design these days… and it’s the stone I get the most questions about. Emmett and I have lived with a marble backsplash, plenty of marble countertops, a marble fireplace, marble flooring, a couple marble showers, and plenty of marble furniture (both indoors and out).
INLAY WORK
Marble inlay is a closely protected traditional art and only a few expert are skilled enough to do justice to it in this day and age. The delicate process involves carefully cutting and engraving marble shapes by hand. … The delicate process involves carefully cutting and engraving marble shapes by hand.
MONUMENTS
Marble is a translucent stone that allows light to enter and produce a soft “glow.” It also has the ability to take a very high polish. These properties make it a beautiful stone for producing sculptures. It is soft, making it easy to sculpt, and when it is fine-grained it has uniform properties in all directions.
STONE CRAFTS
Rajasthan has the best marble and sandstone quarries in India. The craftsmen here have an age-old tradition of carving and making sculptures. The marble quarry of Makrana has contributed to making of Taj Mahal at Agra and marble from here is also used in the making of exquisite Dilwara Jain temples at Mt Abu.

MARBLE
Marble is a metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. Marble is typically not foliated, although there are exceptions. In geology, the term marble refers to metamorphosed limestone, but its use in stonemasonry more broadly encompasses unmetamorphosed limestone.
GRANITE
Granite is a coarse-grained intrusive igneous rock composed mostly of quartz, alkali feldspar, and plagioclase. It forms from magma with a high content of silica and alkali metal oxides that slowly cools and solidifies underground.
SANDSTONE
Sandstone is made of sand grains (0.05mm to 2mm) that may have been deposited in the sea, by rivers, or in deserts, and later cemented together by minerals precipitated from groundwater. Most sandstones are made up largely of quartz grains, because quartz is a very hard and chemically-resistant mineral.
ONYX
Onyx primarily refers to the parallel banded variety of the silicate mineral chalcedony. Agate and onyx are both varieties of layered chalcedony that differ only in the form of the bands: agate has curved bands and onyx has parallel bands. The colors of its bands range from black to almost every color.
NATURAL STONES
“Natural Stone” refers to a number of products quarried from the earth, used over many thousands of years as building materials and decorative enhancements. … These products include Granite, Marble, Limestone, Travertine, Slate, Quartzite, Sandstone, Adoquin, Onyx, and others.
