maybe a controversial take but i feel like mafia 2 was ripe for some really interesting social commentary (besides what was there already, especially about masculinity & family & the american dream) if the narrative hadn’t been actively hostile to all its characters of color, and, in fact, almost everybody who wasn’t italian
