can you do a ben hardy x reader blurb or imagine about the reader making a small move on ben like kissing his cheek or something and he like (kind of harshly) rejects her because she’s “too young” and idk a lot of angst maybe a little fluff ending 🥰 (also by too young i imagine like 18 or 19)
A/N: I tried to give it a bit of angst but...I think I’m feeling a bit fluffy tonight. Enjoy!
Maybe Not
You watch as Ben points out at your dog as you sit on the grass and let both of your pets run free at the park, neither of them run off too far, his beagle Frankie kept coming back with little sticks to drop on Ben's lap and occasionally sniff you in an attempt at getting you to scratch behind her ears or give her a belly rub.
“Savvy, the blue staffy from hell,” Ben laughes.
Your puppy girl Savvy, barks at some pigeons and runs around while they fly away.
Laughing as well you pretend to be offended at his comment and give his arm a light shove before clapping and calling out for her.
“Savvy! Come here baby girl!” You whistle a sad faint little sound.
You ignore Ben laughing at your inability to produce a louder whistling sound, and while you are a bit concerned with getting your pup to come back to your side, Ben stops being an idiot and licks his lips before pushing his teeth on top of his bottom lip to make a loud and clear as day high pitched sound that catches both Savvy and Frankie's attention.
“Come girl!” he calls out to no dog in particular and you watch in half anger and half awe as both little dogs come running.
You smile at the cute Frankie once she jumps onto your lap. Giggling, you pet her and a few seconds later Savvy comes too, she jumps her way to Ben’s arms, sort of daunting him as her eyes took glances of you with Frankie.
With the wind softly blowing on your face, you can already smell the wetness of the dirty around you on the ground, the grass shines a bright shade of green and the clouds on the sky look fluffier than they did that earlier when you were picked up by your best friend.
It was clear that you would be going back home or at least into a café soon.
Ben picks your puppy up and laughs at the way she barked at him. His green eyes are adorned by small lines that do not yet mark his face while resting. His hair is sticking out from under the cap he has on. You have to remind yourself of looking away from time to time, this crush you have on him has already gone on for too long. Initially, you met Ben at the theatre. Being in the scene since you were almost nine, you had climbed your way up at a rather young age. And although Ben was a few years older, you thought that maybe he was giving you all the signs.
This morning in particular, you have been getting all the right signals from him, you cannot stand it anymore. First, he sent you a morning message, as he has been doing since the oscars, because you don’t see each other a lot now that you’ve gotten a part on one of the bbc’s most successful dramas. He asked if you were free for breakfast, and you said he could swing by anytime this day. Not even two minutes later Ben replied by saying he and Frankie were on their way. You did not even bother changing out of your pyjamas before he arrived, and still, when he did he said you were beautiful as ever.
You cooked together and ate between jokes and stories from your latest gigs. The dogs needed to go out so you both decided to go to a nearby park and keep on catching up.
Ben is looking great in a simple jeans and a white shirt under a grey sweatshirt.
You bop Frankie's nose and giggle as she run up to Ben, now Savvy sneaks into your lap, laying her head on your thigh as you sit criss cross next to Ben.
“...so, I had a meeting with Taika Waititi last week…” you run your hand over Savvy’s back and tilt your head to the side, letting your hair fall over your shoulder.
“Oh, really?” Ben shifts, playing absentmindedly with his own dog. “How did it go?”
As your eyes meet you realise he was happy and excited to hear what this was about. You shrug.
“He is going to direct another film for marvel ...and I guess I might be in it!”
Ben breaks into a huge smile and makes you giggle.
“Will you still talk to me afterwards?” he jokes.
“of course I will, don't be silly!” you reply, hitting his arm lightly.
“That's what you say now, but you'll become such a diva.” Ben looks up and pronounces the last word with emphasis.
You huff at this and throw yourself backwards, laying on your back now and seeing the cloudy sky above you, darkening with heavy rain gathering and preparing to spill over the city.
A second later, you can see Ben's face hovering over you.
Sitting up you turn to Ben and without a warning or second thought, you leaned forward and brushed your lips against his, placing a soft kiss before being almost shoved back by his strong hands.
Rather stunned, you stare at Ben and see him looking away, his eyes scanning his hands on his lap as he thinks, quiet and now distant. You open your mouth to say something but end up regretting the idea of speaking, you swallow through a lump of tears that has started to develop in your throat, you feel sick to the stomach and confused about the things you thought you had been seeing from Ben. This had been a mistake and you only realise it now that it is too late.
You purse your lips and turn your gaze at Savvy, she is licking her paws, unaware of what has just happened.
“Y/N…” Hearing Ben’s deep voice say your name now makes you cringe.
Before he can continue you stand up and pick up your puppy, taking in a deep shaky breath as if this can help you avoid crying. Which it doesn’t, you turn away from Ben as fast as possible, mumbling an apology and an excuse.
“Y/N!” Ben stands and catches up with you, his dog following him.
“I-I have to call my manager, I completely forgot!” You make up this stupid excuse, for which your friend won’t fall.
“I know you don’t have to do that.” Ben stands in front of you and you are left with no option but to look up at his face. “It’s not that I don’t like you…” He begins.
Hearing him say this makes your heart sink and you have to look away as you feel your nose getting stuffed with the tears that are rising to your eyes.
“Ben...I don’t need to hear it…” You shake your head with eyes closed.
“You’re too young!” He blurts out. “To young!”
You open your eyes and hold Savvy up so that her paws are on your shoulders and her snout on your neck, as if she can help you keep your heart save from whatever the blonde has to say.
“Wait-what?” You frown. “Hello, I am nineteen, Ben! And almost twenty!” You point out with your index finger up in the air.
He frowns and looks at you but it is as if he just needs a place to put his eyes on while he thinks about it.
“I...really?” Ben puts his hands on his waist and watches you nod. “Y/N, you know I love you…” he shakes his head with a strained smile on his face, “just not romantically.”
Your eyes fall down on Savvy, she stares up at you too and licks your face as if to chin in her best attempt at cheering you up.
“I’m sorry.” Ben mutters.
Your friend cups your face and kisses your forehead, explaining that to him you are still the child he met years ago when he started doing theatre. Ben doesn’t know it yet, but as the rain starts falling down on you, he is wrapping his arm over his future girlfriend’s shoulder.
