Even More SequenceShift Facts

I know I've been pretty quiet on my AU's front. Part of that is because I was briefly disheartened by what I saw as a lack of interest in it from other people. I'm willing to admit it does kinda sting to see all these other AUs popping off while mine only gets a few passing nods, mainly because I can't draw any of my AU. I'm not trying to sound ungrateful though. I mean, there's always a handful of peeps who always like and reblog my SequenceShift stuff, and I do really appreciate you folks! With that out of the way, I decided to do another round of these facts with details that I didn't add in the guidebook, either because I felt they weren't important or because I forgor. Again, if I haven't mentioned something, feel free to hit me up.

Mooch is an adult by the time Clover is in the AU, but she was still a child/teen when the Outlaw (one of the Renegade humans) committed his massacre on the Wild East. It's given her a good dose of anxiety that she tries to keep covered up. There are times where she wakes up in the middle of the night after a particularly bad nightmare, with Moray calming her down and watching over her until she falls asleep again.

Starlo is the only member of the cast that interacts with Kit (think like Flowey and Papyrus in the OG Undertale). Due to Kit's reluctance, she doesn't really open up much to him besides some small talk. Starlo does have some suspicions about Kit, but due to being very busy with his duties as Captain of the Rangers, he hasn't looked into it just yet.

Echo Flowers are still existent in this AU, but they're very much endangered due to their natural habitat completely drying out. Some are still just barely alive but clearly withered, and any conversations they may have picked up are either partially or completely distorted. There is one location where they're still alive, a hidden cavern in the Barrens that only Ceroba, Starlo, and Dina know about.

Starlo still wears his poncho and sheriff's badge to this day (Ceroba does want her Rangers to wear proper uniforms, but she mostly doesn't mind any customizations beyond that). It serves as something of a reminder for what life was like before the Wild East Massacre. However, on a Vengeance run, he completely ditches the poncho to symbolize him embracing his role as Captain of the Rangers.

When it comes to SequenceShift's Genocide/Vengeance/No Mercy route, none of the boss fights are killed in one hit. All of them have different, harder encounters and fight like hell to the bitter end. There'll also be environmental changes beyond just the populace leaving.

Also, a Neutral Route will have a lot more variation beyond just the endings and NPC dialogue. Even a very ruthless neutral run will be acknowledged by the Monsters and treated as such. Clover will be punished for a near/aborted Genocide run. (I always found it weird how the original Undertale never did that, and Undertale Yellow to a lesser extent)

There are four routes planned so far: Neutral, Pacifist, True Pacifist, and Genocide. A fifth route might be possible, but nothing's come of it just yet.

Frisk is also in this AU, having arrived some time before Clover did and basically had this Sequenceshift's version of Undertale Yellow. Again, still haven't thought of much beyond that.

I'll add him to the guidebook, but Mo is indeed in this AU. He's pretty much entirely unchanged too, because he's perfect.

Got back into Undertale (I blame Tiktok compilations on YT) Made my own versions for these 4 since they are my favs They are all pretty chill now that they left the underground

We got: Blue, Cyan, Red and Bigs

Blue is the classic Sans we all know. He keeps secrets, has a lot on his mind but never lets it show. He’s a pretty neat person to be around.

Cyan is like Papyrus but also not. He is still himself after all. Yes he is exciteable and as enthusiastic as heck but he also knows a lot of stuff, more than most would think he knows (just like Pap I guess)

Red... is chill. Not perfect, no, by far not. He needed a LOT of time to become this chill. His AU was pretty rough after all, always having to be allert, having to fight for your life, literally. You’d be on edge too if you lived through that. So he’s had a rough start at first but luckily there was someone who shared in a similarly bad experience that could bond with him.

Bigs! His AU is pretty messed up let’s be honest. Once the Food thing happened the magic everyone used slowly corroded, corrupting all mosters and making them more monstrous. Lots of peeps fear Bigs when they meet him for the first time, for good reason, tho he has mellowed out a LOT, with the help of Red. Both went through hell for a while and share in the pain to lessen it.

Headcannons: -Red and Bigs trauma dump on each other pretty often, tho they never know they are doing that, they just think they are having a conversation Sometimes these conversations end in tears but they always feel better after so they aren’t likely to stop any time soon. -Red cooks. He taught himself and while he hid that while they were still underground (because doing stuff like that would have made others think he’s homely and that means weak) he now cooks for the others every now and again. -Bigs devours anything you give him but he will slow down and actually enjoy the food if the other Paps or Sanses made the food (especially Red) -Cyan and TalePap have Puzzle sessions that can go on for hours and they both love cooking together -Blue was confused about the others at first but now he enjoys their company a lot and will actively go out of his way to spend time with them and their Paps -Cyan and Blue think that Red and Bigs deserve the world after what they went through and will help them with almost anything if it might help them recover

Lastly, the doodle showcases them on their afternoon nap Yes Bigs likes having Red flung over himself like that, makes ‘em both feel safe

Ok so this is really out of nowhere, and might seem kinda dumb but I wanna get this out.

I joined this site way back in 2015 or 2016 (I only know that it was around the time undertale was released) and, of course, I didn't get a whole lot of interactions then. I had followers, but not a single one of them interacted with me at all, like, not even one of those peeps liked my stuff. I assume a lot of them were bots...

It was honestly only recently that I've been getting interactions from lovely people who genuinely enjoy my stuff and are curious about certain things about them. It started in the LMK fandom and has continued with the Kirby fandom. But now there's some of y'all who like not only stuff from other fandoms I'm in, but my personal projects too! Heck, I met my current friends on discord through Tumblr!

And after being basically just floating around here like a bubble for a few years, it feels amazing to have my own little space that people visit every now and again.

It feels nice, and I feel SO lucky to have such kind and talented people commenting on my things and giving me inspiration/ideas for them as well.

I genuinely don't know how to end this so I'mma just say this.

BELLUM. I’m sure I’ll make a big ol post about the verse later, but ey, roles in the Undertale peeps The Last Of Us verse

disclaimer that I haven’t played the game (yet!! but I might in the future) so I’m basing it solely on what I’ve seen of the TV series

Undyne : used to be a FEDRA soldier enforcing martial law, but stopped HARD after she saw a child who tested positive with no symptoms be euthanized without hesitation, as well as her boss Asgore’s grief and guilt over the things he was doing (she probably tried to convince him to come along, but whether it worked or not ... I don’t know)

Asriel : the son of Undyne’s boss, he’s never really seen or interacted with another child until he met Chara and Frisk, he’s pretty sheltered but all he knows is that he wants to be able to play with other kids and he will do literally ANYTHING in the name of making sure that any scientist he knows will consider Chara and Frisk as possible sources of a cure or vaccine for cordyceps

Corsiva : a scientist working with FEDRA, who’s become burnt out and fearful and guilty from all the horrors of experimenting she and her husband have done in the name of trying to find a cure for cordyceps, while trying desperately to keep her own two sons in isolation so they don’t run the risk of contracting it

Frisk : a child who, like Ellie, is immune to cordyceps and shows no symptoms or infection even when bitten by an Infected ... their father was infected and killed at the beginning of the outbreak in Japan, and their mother is alive but was separated from them after being placed under quarantine which they barely escaped, they’ve spent a long time being shuffled between people who don’t believe their immunity selling them off to scientists who are too cruel and stupid to actually get any real knowledge from them

Chara : a child who was born and raised in the home of scientists who were trying to find a cure, who was deliberately infected with cordyceps ... and managed to RECOVER from it after suffering symptoms, and emerged as the first recorded case of a nonfatal infection and recovery ... or, would have been recorded, had their parents not run away after the lab was ambushed by other Infected who left Chara alone ... leaving them to travel on their own, not trusting a single person until they meet Frisk, Kris, and Asriel

Kris : a young adult who’s an asymptomatic carrier for cordyceps, they can be infected but show no symptoms, but can pass the fungus to other people through exchanges of saliva and via blood, no on knows where they came from including them, but they spend their time trying to survive by ducking FEDRA and the Fireflies, knowing they’d be executed if they tested positive despite not showing any symptoms, especially because they can transmit it to other people

YEEEEEAH I AM SO DOWN FOR THIS i love your guyes concept and he seems super fun so yes !!!

If you ever want him to deal with any annoying little teenager I have my Sonic sideblog.. he's a clown who never really went to school and doesn't really respect authority much so he'll give Jamie a headache. He's a chill guy outside of being a nuisance sometimes though! I can easily see Jamie being in any kind of trouble with the monster stuff he's keeping at bay and Sonic catching note of it, or even the aftermath of one. Aside from that Sonic just generally wanders and relaxes anywhere, so it's just as likely that Sonic would be taking a nap on his roof.

Gaster and him could be fun! They give me somewhat similar vibes for some reason.. kind of strict guys who have peeped the horrors. Also dads. Once Gaster lightens up he can be the goofiest man alive so Jamie might actually tend up as the more tense once which I find hilarious. Gaster has a natural distrust of humans so it might take ages to get there, but still.. shakes fist. I believe it can happen. I usually default to my Undertale verse where humans and monsters are just chilling after the game, and as much as Gaster is a recluse, there still is moments where he definitely needs fresh air, so even just bumping into him on a walk is possible. Or something that could be more fun is Gaster tends to push himself in regards to Not looking like goop all the time, and sometimes he just has to sit down and melt in a secluded alley or something so he can go back to pretending to be normal in 15ish minutes or so, so it'd be funny to see Jamie react to something like that!

I think him and V could be good buddies as well. They give me the vibes as people who would mesh well, with both being world weary people who have gone through some shit who ultimately end up kind of chilled out by the end of it. V mostly just does whatever the hell and still picks up odd jobs just doing pretty much anything, so they could meet in any set of scenarios can be thought of honestly!

Underfell-

The moment you stepped through that door, you knew you were in trouble when you saw Papyrus AND Sans in the living room, Sans on the couch while Papyrus stood by it tapping his foot impatiently before the skeletons noticed you.

“MIND TELLING US WHERE YOU’VE BEEN ALL NIGHT?” Papyrus asks calmly, crossing his arms as Sans silently observed. You blink and awkwardly rub your neck.

“Well uh, fun story… but I kind of hung out with some peeps in a Mcdonald’s for a while, and… lost track of time. Don’t worry, they didn’t hurt me, they were actually nice enough to drop me off a block away from here, don’t want strangers/acquaintances to know where I live first thing,” Papyrus raised a brow at your story before sighing.

“I SUPPOSE IT’S FINE IF YOU AREN’T HURT. BUT MAKE SURE TO INFORM US BEFORE YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS AGAIN, WE WERE WORRIED SICK!” Sans grins.

“Mainly Pap,” Papyrus shot a glare at Sans while he chuckled. Papyrus turned back to you with a sheepish expression.

“I-IT DOESN’T MATTER WHO WORRIED MORE AS LONG AS YOU’RE SAFE. NOW, I SUGGEST WE HEAD TO BED, YOU’RE LUCKY IT’S THE WEEKEND AND I HAVE NOTHING IMPORTANT TO DO,” He says, offering an arm, you gladly take his arm before poking Sans, a silent question to come along. Sans shrugs and slides off the couch and follows you to Papyrus’s room where you all go under his covers and cuddle until you all fall asleep.

Undertale-

Papyrus was pacing the living room, worried that you hadn’t come home yet. Sans sat on the couch watching him with his eye sockets. Sans sighs, sliding off the couch and approaching his brother, gently tapping his arm.

“Pap, I’m sure they’ll be home soon,” Papyrus glanced at his brother nervously.

“THAT’S WHAT YOU SAID AN HOUR AGO, AND THE HOUR BEFORE THAT, AND THE HOUR BEFORE THAT!!” Sans blinks in surprise, had he really. He counted the hours you were gone… Now he was starting to panic, about to suggest to call Undyne when the door opened and in came you, perfectly fine. He breathes a sigh of relief as Papyrus rushes to you and gives you a big hug.

“WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!” You look up to Papyrus confused, seeing that his eyes were filled with worry. Sans comes up behind Papyrus and pats his back gently.

“Pap, it’s okay. They’re okay, we can ask where they were later. I think it’d be best if we all went to bed, yeah? Why don’t you make a pillow fort or blanket nest for us to enjoy on my bed, Yeah?” Papyrus thought over his words before smiling brightly, releasing you and patting your head gently before rushing to Sans’s room. You raise a brow in amusement, about to follow when Sans gently grabs your arm. You turn to him confused.

“Hey, maybe don’t do that again? You had us worried, bud. Next time, maybe let us know so we don’t worry too much, kay?” You stare at Sans before giving him a gentle hug, he hugs back with a small smile.

“Come on, bone head, it’s cuddle time!” You exclaim as you gently pull Sans along and into his room where Papyrus made a little blanket nest for you all, he gently hugs you and pulls you to his chest while Sans slips into your lap and you all lay in each other’s presence until you fall asleep.

Underswap-

Sans and Papyrus aren’t too worried. In fact, Sans acts first in contacting people you might be with while Papyrus teleports to your favorite spots. Once either of them has found you through their method, they ask you to come home, which you oblige.

“Y/N, THE NEXT TIME YOU GO OUT LATER THAN INTENDED, PLEASE LET US KNOW WHERE YOU ARE AT THE VERY LEAST,” Sans gently reminds you, Papyrus nods behind him.

“Yeah, that way one of us can be on watch for when you get back or if you’re in trouble,” Papyrus adds, you smile at the skeletons.

“Thank you for worrying about me, sorry for being out so late… how about we all watch funny videos till we all fall asleep, yeah?” Papyrus smirks.

“That sounds great,” Thus you all cuddle up on a bed and watch funny videos till you all fall asleep. :)

Horrortale-

Oh, you wouldn’t be late with these two. The MINUTE you’re not home by the time you said, they’re panicking and looking for you ON THE SPOT. Once they find you, they’re bringing you home.

“Please, PLEASE, don’t do that ever again!” Sans practically pleads as he holds onto you tightly, Papyrus nods, placing his head on top of yours while hugging the both of you.

“YOU WORRIED US…” Papyrus muttered, you frowned softly at the skeletons, they worried a lot…

“I’m sorry you guys, if I’m ever late again, I’ll make sure to tell you where I am, okay?” The boys gently smiled at that.

“That’d be great…” Sans mutters sleepily, Papyrus nods.

“NOW, LET’S GET SOME PROPER SLEEP, YEAH?” You and Sans nod as he carries the two of you to his room gently lays you on his bed before climbing in himself and cuddling the two of you. You smile softly as you gently drifted to sleep.

Time’s End is an AHIT/Undertale crossover AU of sorts, taking place in the aftermath of a timeline where you lose the final boss fight against Mustache Girl. You can find the write-up here! In addition, you can find the write-ups for the Neutral Endings and TimeWarp Route Requirements on Google Drive! The awesome Vanessa art in the thumbnail was made by @ivipl1. Be sure to check her out for more awesome artwork like it!

Vanessa takes the role of Glyde. You know her deal. Was rather controlling with her Prince, thought he was cheating on her and locked him up in the basement for dead, became an eldritch tomato. In this timeline however... something has changed. On top of everything else that Mu's Time Piece smashing spree caused, it also somehow freed Vanessa from her near-lifelong curse?? For the first time (probably in her life,) she’s able to think clearly without all that bad magic stuffing things up. Realizing that her Prince likely wouldn’t want to see her again, wherever he might be, Vanessa voluntarily stays in the manor for the most part nowadays. All the same, she has a persistent guilt over her curse-addled actions and (to her) a fruitless desire to patch things up with her Prince.

So... doubt you all expected a "Mysterious Place" replacement (of all things) from me, huh? XD But yeah, a couple locations have shifted position in comparison to their Undertale equivalents! The Mysterious Place in this AU is Vanessa's Manor in Subcon Forest, which came to my head around the same time that I chose Niko for the So Sorry role. Both that and the Glyde role were things that I had initially had zero ideas for, but the brainblast I had with Niko (along with some discussions on a Discord I'm in inspiring me,) I decided to go for a bit of a different approach with Vanessa in comparison to most of my non-crossover AHIT AUs. As for the track itself, it's just a simple mashup of Beta Credits Theme and Alpha Bookstore Theme, with some elements that wound up drawing inspiration from For The Fans from Undertale (as weird as that is hueh.) Sorry I don't have anything grander ready for the pending last day of 2021, and *didn't* have anything close to a Christmas special this year, but I hope you guys enjoy all the same! And seriously, thank you all so much for your support this year! I was definitely worried about how my overall shift in content from Thomas/general purpose to primarily AHIT would go down, and it's admittedly been hard sometimes to not wind up being pessimistic about my inconsistent stats, but on the whole? I couldn't have asked for a better audience this year, especially all you peeps here on Tumblr, who have made my first year in the AHIT fandom a fantastic one. Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year to you all! Looking forward to making more content in 2022!

Right, I forgot to write about that. Thanks for this opportunity, though, might as well get it out of my chest. It’s been almost a year since I promised this anyway, so...

AU Crossfire Ultimate: What it could have been

(Note: Just because I’m putting this out in the open, it doesn’t mean I want people taking all of this and doing their own AU Crossfire Ultimate. Please don’t do that to yourself.)

The Setting

The RestAUrant listed at the beggining was actually an idea I’d hatched long ago back in 2017. It was then picked up by Mil as a location for her self-insert-ish AU: AUversal Lockdown, which is run by Catms (great name, I know). At the time of writing this, it has not been featured in the AU itself, but I’m certain we’ll get there eventually.

The way I envisioned AU Crossfire Ultimate’s setting was a jumble of iconic locations in both Undertale and its AUs. End pretty much had merged all of the multiverse into one Mt. Ebott, so there was a lot of potential for stuff.

Areas like the Ruins were going to, for one, be considerably larger, and feature a lot of elements from AUs (think flowers from Inverted Fate Asgore’s garden, or Old CORE mechanisms from StorySwap Color in the same room).

There were also some original locations like the circus, in which the characters would fight Rainbow Gay Jevil Sans (this is not a drill) to rescue the deltarune gang. I even wrote a scene about it in a spur of inspiration.

Oh, but the thing also was that there was no barrier; the only exit was guarded by a buttload of copies of the characters (spirits and stuff), along with some dark purple thingies- I don’t really remember what they were. So it wasn’t like they couldn’t escape, it was just a death sentence to do it on your own.

The Antagonist

So, pretty much the idea was to have AU Crossfire’s Story to take after World of Light and subspace emmisary, the main antagonist was known as “End”, a being that had a buttload of power.

I did have an origin story planned for them, but being honest, their original backstory wasn’t that interesting. A being created by the resentment and hate AU Creators have toward their own work, a being hellbent on destroying everything. They couldn’t be as easily taken out by someone the likes of hyperdeath Asriel on their own.

The idea was to have them as this eeerie being like tabuu that spoke through its actions. But then I never really went anywhere with AUCU.

I’ve since reworked them for another one of my AUs, but for which one, I’ll leave up to you.

The Story

The general idea I had for the story was, like I said, world of light with the general idea of subspace emissary. What that meant was that the cast of characters was split into “teams”.

The team leaders (survivors of the first attack that fucked everyone up) were Paper Frisk (of course), Core Frisk, and Napstablook (who didn’t go to the tournament at all, he had just stayed home, but when he woke up, he saw the world had been torn up so he tried to help). There were other survivors, but I can’t remember them off the top of my head.

They’d go around freeing other fighters, and they’d develop group dynamics. Eventually, after they knock some sense into the bosses, they would get some of them to team up. Some of the bosses which I had ideas for were Petey from Undertoad, Mechdyne (which was being controlled by other peeps instead of IFdyne), and some others I can’t think of.

The groups would begin to meet up and go onto becoming an “AU army” that was trying to get out of Mt. Ebott.

The reason I didn’t feature characters like Ink or Error was because I felt they couldn’t really add anything to the story back when I didn’t really know much about them. ... I still don’t really think the outcome would’ve been changed that much, but in hindsight, I’d imagine Error would’ve been a neat boss that joins the team to spite End.

The characters would get together, and do an all-out attack on End to finish the fight once and for all. Here’s a pic I had made to illustrate the scene.

With all that being said...

Why did you not want to keep working on AUCU?

So first off it was a pain to even get the roster figured out. From day one, it was always nitpicked to hell and back.

And back then I was more prone to trying to please everyone, so I’d make changes to the roster on a constant basis, not enough to let me figure out. It went from “Why so many humans” to “when are we getting deltarune reps?”, or “no one knows these AUs, why do you include them?”

It was a lot of stress to deal with, and to this day, I still get people nitpicking on it a year or so after its cancellation. It took a heavy toll on my mental health.

The roster was also unfathomably large before being cut down, but even then I couldn’t have realistically given every character enough screentime for them to matter. I think that I can understand why Sakurai went with everyone being silent in brawl; it’s hell to write that many characters, and I understand why he went with WoL in Ultimate.

Along with the nitpicks, people asking so dang much for Ink and Error, I lost the will to keep doing it. Thus, it sat on dev hell until I decided to delete the blog.

... That being said, I cannot be thankful enough for all the creators that I reached out to that actually replied to my questions about the characters, I actually met a lot of people this way, so if anything I can thank AU Crossfire Ultimate for that.

I cannot undermine the positive side of making AUCU too, I got to have a lot of back and forth with the community in general. Along with it allowing me to learn how to do sprite posing because boy I had to that a LOT. I also learned how to do much better posing in general, so there’s that.

With all that being said, I feel as though I am finally able to move on from AUCU. It taught me a lot, and something that I don’t think I’ll forget when trying to make these ambitious AU Crossover styled things:

Don’t go overboard from the get-go, start simple, and have a clear focus of what you want to do, and what’s your end goal.

The End

With all that being said, I don’t think I’ll ever be making another AU crossover that’s as big as AU Crossfire.

Obviously no pressure, but if you wanted to share your ideas on house pets, there would be great interest from at least one person. Sans (Undertale): Strongly inspired by a fantastic fanfiction I can’t recommend enough, he has a cat affectionately named Catsup (Norwegian Forest Cat). Of course he does. Pretty typical story here, he more or less went to a shelter, locked onto the biggest, fattest cat there, and filled out the paperwork to damn her to a life of having a pun for a name. He...may have only gone to the shelter because he was hardcore struggling with depression and his brother read somewhere that pets can help a little, but that's...that’s neither here nor there. Catsup turned out to be a perfect fit for Sans in spite of his initial attitude of, 'I'm only doing this to make Papyrus happy'-- she's probably just about as chill and lazy as the skeleton himself, content to flop over just about anywhere, anytime and hang out. Her laidback nature was a blessing for Sans, a first-time cat-owner who didn't really know what he was doing or what she needed right away. A more high-maintenance cat probably wouldn't have been as forgiving and there'd have been a lot more stress on everybody before he got it figured out. Now, he considers Catsup his best little pal and doesn't even need to be reminded to change out her bowls and her litter. He's surprisingly responsible, when he actually really cares about something.

Catsup’s Quirks: Likes it when you gently slap her belly, always gravitates towards the room with the most people in it, often appears in unusual places that it seems like she shouldn't have been able to get to

Papyrus (Undertale): He...begrudgingly missed working with the Canine Unit once the Royal Guard was officially disbanded... It took him awhile to be able to openly admit he was interested in getting a dog, and when he did, he had standards-- it had to be a smart dog, one that could learn tricks and follow rules, unlike a certain annoying creature that’s plagued his life and home and special attacks in the past!!! So he did a lot of breed research, found a local, ethical breeder for the kind he was looking for, and went to pick out a pup. Spike (Border Collie), so named for his incredible coolness, is a perfect fit for his energetic skeleton friend and loves to run, exercise, and learn new tricks all the time!

Spike’s Quirks: Learned to wipe his feet before coming inside just by watching Papyrus do it, hams up his tricks and sometimes does them without prompting, never leaves the park without an impractically large stick to bring home

Sky (Underswap Sans): You will literally never get him to admit the real reason he got a dog companion because he knows in his heart of hearts that it’s such a silly reason... He saw a video online of a dog delicately eating a watermelon and while most people would’ve had a kneejerk reaction of, “I NEED TEN,” but not gotten any, he had the same reaction and just...talked himself down to one. And so came Poff (Samoyed), a big ol’ floofer who’s a lot like her master when it comes to levels of energy and affection. She’s happy to follow him around on patrols, training sessions, and even through obstacle course...so of course, she tends to get very dirty very quickly. Luckily, Sky’s diligence in grooming her keeps her coat as white and fluffy as her namesake!

Poff’s Quirks: Loves baths, tap dances at the mention of treats, doesn't chew her toys and just hoards them instead

Paps (Underswap Papyrus): He wasn’t really in the market for a dog, himself. He was just along for the ride when his bro was picking up Poff, when he happened to hear the most hilarious sing-screaming sound he’d ever heard in his life. He followed it all the way to the little fellow who would soon be known as Smoochie (French Bulldog), and he sure seemed upset about...something? He never really figured out why, he was laughing too hard from hearing a sound like that come out of something so small and weird-looking. He didn't try to adopt Smoochie that day, much as he loved his sound, but he found himself going back to the shelter a couple times just to check on and play with him. After two or three months with no one else adopting the little prima-donna, he figured he might as well commit and take him home. He's a fun little dude and Paps hasn't regretted it for a second, but he's forever in denial about just how much of a Dog Dad he's become since. It's totally normal to carry your dog around in the hood of your sweatshirt, isn't it???

Smoochie’s Quirks: Screams a lot, will eat food out of peoples’ hands if they’re not paying attention, jumps higher than it seems like he should be able to

Jasper (Underfell Sans): Like most things in his life, he didn’t put a whole lot of planning or forethought into getting a dog. He was out one night, decently drunk, and a friend of a friend of a friend of a coworker was talking about this dumb dog he had that was supposed to be a guard dog but couldn't do it worth a damn because he was too friendly. The guy was yammering about how to get rid of it and something about that struck a chord with Jasper. It was pretty soon after monsters surfaced and maybe that's why it felt...important to him? He was probably just drunk and emotional and soft that he even stepped in or said anything, but it is what it is. He’s a skilled enough conman that it didn't take him long to talk the guy around in circles until he was willing to pay Jasper for the privilege of taking this animal off his hands and in short order, he was almost bowled over by the big dog that planted its paws on his shoulders at their first meeting. Jasper immediately renamed him from something cliché and 'intimidating' to Tubbs (Rottweiler) for how heavy the goofy bastard was and then brought him right home. His brother wasn't particularly pleased and swore he would not be caring for this beast, but he never had to; Jasper kinda missed having something trusting and affectionate to take care of, and Tubbs has been daddy's little fatty ever since.

Tubbs’ Quirks: Shreds even the heaviest duty toys, lays on people as if he were a lap dog, drools rivers if somebody's eating food around him

Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): Who am I to defy literal years of fanon...? His first meeting with Doomfanger (Persian) was about as clichéd as it gets-- a scrawny, dingy, scraggly and matted cat scurrying out of an alley in the rain. She went right up to him and, well... it was love at first mew. He scooped her right up, bestowed a fittingly intimidating name upon her, and took her home with him, in spite of the fact that she looked more like a mutant rat than a cat at the time. After shaving the mats off, bathing the dirt away, and getting her some regular food, though, Doomy actually ends up being an exceedingly beautiful feline! He credits his attentive care and grooming for her pristine, silvery fluff and will brag about it at a moment's notice, but he's just ever so slightly in denial about her sweet and gentle nature. Doomfanger is a vicious killing machine, a true apex predator that nothing stands a chance against! That's...that’s obviously why he carries her around so much... And why he plucks her away from any other animal that comes near her like some sort of mother hen-- he's minimizing the bloodshed! If he let her loose, there would be no survivors!

Doomfanger’s Quirks: Meows in peeps, avid shadow-chaser, extremely receptive to handling

Mal (Swapfell Sans): Hey, anyone remember FGTC? This one cameo’d in that fic, she may seem familiar~ So...he wanted a pet. At first, he thought a cat would be good, fierce independent hunters that they’re reputed to be...but after spending time with a lot of cats and not really clicking with any, he was forced to concede that he was just more of a dog person. In hindsight, of course that’s what he was looking for: a loyal companion to (literally, ha!) dog his steps and follow his orders. Before he can actually, intentionally start looking for one, though, the universe works its magic and he finds one digging around in the garbage out behind the house. The emergency vet he brings the scarred and skeletal stray to tells him that, judging by her injuries, she was probably bait in some dog-fighting ring somewhere and got thrown away when she wasn’t useful anymore. Well. Fuck that, Princess (Pitbull) deserves better than that, and she’ll have it! He takes on the duty of nursing her back to health and earning her trust and it isn’t long before she shows her true colors as the loviest sweetheart of a dog that ever was. She’s utterly useless as an attack/guard dog, but her barks are loud and intimidating, and she obeys commands at the drop of a hat, so Mal doesn’t hold that against her. She goes with him just about anywhere she’s allowed and he shows her off with the same enthusiasm you’d expect for a pedigreed Best in Show dog.

Princess’ Quirks: Wags with her entire butt, will kiss the moment someone’s face is in range, barks at doorbells both real and on TV

Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): He didn’t mean to get a cat, not really... He was just following along with his brother when Mal was kicking around the idea of getting one, and Mal may not have clicked with anybody there, but he sure did. Actually... Kitkat (Manx) may have picked him and he’s just along for the ride. Kitkat was kinda young at the time, a little smaller than all the rest and also...no tail??? But what a personality, loud and playful and super sweet and...when it was time to leave the shelter, he just...he couldn’t bring himself to do it without her, he was in love! It’s mutual, at least-- she latched right onto him pretty much instantly and is pretty much never not with him whenever he’s at home, following him around from room-to-room.

Kitkat’s Quirks: Bone-rattlingly loud purrs, loves to play fetch, prone to 3AM zest for life and zooming all around the house accordingly

Slate (Horrortale Sans): I actually wrote about this one! But the gist of it is...he likes cats. Eventually got confident enough to go get one and zeroed right in on the weirdest-looking, least adoptable cat in the shelter he volunteers at. Slinky (Cornish Rex) was deaf, kinda ugly, and a whole lotta weird, but hell, she’ll fit right in at home, yeah? And so she does! She wrecks a lotta shit and is loud as hell, but stuff is only stuff and Slate’s never had an issue with noise. Actually...she really helps him out with his sleep and focus issues, it’s hard to drop off or dissociate when you have a cat in your lap, yelling at you at batting your face because it’s Play Time or Dinner Time, wake the fuck up!!! She’s a bastardous gremlin, but he loves her to bits.

Slinky’s Quirks: Clumsy and bad at judging distances, loves ankle-looping, insists on sniffing all people-food but never actually tries to eat it

Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): Following the trauma of the underground and the ensuing massive outpouring of empathy from humanity at large, monsters were made aware of many therapeutic resources that they could take advantage of, one of which was therapy animals. Papy naturally thought this was a wonderful idea...for other monsters, who were of course far more psychologically-damaged and not quite so good at enduring as himself. But...his brother does volunteer at an animal shelter, and he goes to visit him on occasion so he's made friends with a lot of animal people. This is how he hears about a therapy dog in need of a new forever-home due to complicated circumstances with her former owner, and well... it would be rude not to offer the Lady (Borzoi) a place to stay! He’s surprised by her appearance at first, having expected something more like a golden retriever or some kind of shepherd??? But he's very quickly charmed by her and actually feels more than a little bit of kinship with her no stranger to being long and oddly proportioned, himself-- and they're both doing their best to make it look graceful instead of weird. Since Lady proves to be a sweet and gentle-mannered dog, Papy just sort of...never bothers trying to find other accommodations for her. She’s welcomed wholeheartedly into their home, which she repays with plenty of unconditional love and effortless emotional support!

Lady’s Quirks: Spins in circles when excited, very polite when begging for table scraps, never barks but howls often

didn’t want to add on to the last post, but then i figured this might be a good opportunity to advertise my fics while also showing how they’re kinda the same story for two different fandoms

so here’s my original examples of the “character who isn’t used to opening up is suddenly hugged by another character and there’s that moment of hesitation where they don’t know what’s happening before hugging them back” trope. under the cut in case peeps aren’t in the mood to feel feels:

oh, and, spoilers. if you don’t want that, click the links so you can read them in context ;)

First from the UnderTale fic, “Everything Stays, Everything Changes” (where “you” = Frisk and “I” = Chara):

With a hopeless look, your head droops once more, and you let out a strained, muffled wail. The overstimulation paralyzes me for a moment. Then I recognize that I have the chance to do something I've wanted to do for you before, but never could, and I take it.

With my free arm, I pull you into a tight embrace. Your body shudders before collapsing into me. I rub your back at a steady pace to help you regain control of your breathing.

[skipping a paragraph or two]

When the silence persists, I cautiously free my other arm from your grasp, so that I can brush some of your tightly wound curls of hair away from your eyes. Almost automatically, both your arms wrap themselves around me and weakly squeeze.

"It's okay. Talk whenever you're ready," I hum. It's not a tone of voice I'm used to utilizing, and to my ears, it sounds like a facsimile, but it seems not to bother you.

...Actually this fic has two examples of the trope, so here’s the other one.

"...If, say, I floated my offer for a hug again," I drawl, gulping air to swallow my rising panic, "would you-"

"You really want one?" You ask, somewhat incredulously but also enthusiastically.

"It is supposed to be for you, not for me," I retort. "...That being said, yes I do."

Beaming, you bound across the space between us and enfold my torso in your surprisingly strong arms, nearly sending us toppling backward. Once I regain my balance, I wrap one arm around your back and use the other to ruffle your hair some, releasing some giggles from your chest. Exhaustion clawing at me, I shut my eyes and take a deep breath. I can feel the pulse of your soul now, reverberating between the two of us, its warmth alleviating my panic.

That is until I open my eyes again and see the red flares flying out from your chest, encircling us.

"Chara," you whisper, as their brightness increases exponentially, "I'm so lucky. I'm so glad you're my friend."

Forced to shut my eyes once more, the light and heat from your soul becoming overwhelming, the only words I can muster in response are,

"Me too."

And then there’s the ending of my more recent Sanders Sides fic, “It Seemed the Better Way”:

“Well, you’re free to go,” Janus sighed. But just before he turned around, he thought to make another offer, to try and lighten the air. “Unless, you might feel better if, say, I gave you one of those… ‘hugs’ Thomas seems to like?”

He regretted the suggestion before it fully left his lips. This was not his thing, and of all the sides, Virgil was the next least likely to appreciate it.

His look of revulsion seemed to confirm it. However, when the shock wore off, and he recognized that Janus was being sincere…

“Sure,” Virgil mumbled. “...Oh. Alright then.”

At first, neither of them moved. Then Janus opened his arms in a stilted manner, like a rusted animatronic. Taking the cue, Virgil sluggishly shuffled forward, until Janus was able to wrap his arms around him. They stayed in this almost-embrace for a moment or two, both holding their breath without either realizing it.

Suddenly Virgil’s arms were crushing Janus’s torso, and he was heaving into his chest, his head buried in his shoulder. Then snot was dripping from his inflamed nose, and hot stinging tears were leaking through his eyelids, even as he was squeezing them shut with all the strength he had left. His jittery exhales morphed into strained cries and ghostly wails, muffled and formless, yet perfectly clear in meaning.

Janus had no experience in this matter. He initially didn’t dare to move a muscle, paralyzed by the fear he would somehow make things worse. But when Virgil’s legs buckled in, he instinctively pulled him into his chest and slowly lowered the two of them until they were kneeling on the floor. Then he grabbed the ends of the falling blanket and had it encircle them both; and despite all the occasions he and Remus had made fun of Virgil for being so attached to the ratty old thing, Janus found it eased his nerves.

Virgil was still sobbing, though softer. Overwhelmed, lost, Janus briefly shut his eyes and reached out to his network, seeking memories of how Thomas’s guardians had calmed him down in similar situations. Soon enough, he was rubbing Virgil’s back with one hand, while he brushed the bangs out of his bloodshot, waterlogged eyes with the other.

“Virgil, hey, buddy, it’s okay. Let it out,” he murmured. It was a new tone of voice for him, this balancing act of coming across as both confident and compassionate. It sounded insultingly fake to his own ears; however, he could feel Virgil’s convulsions slowing, so he continued. “I’m here, Virgil. It’s all going to be okay. Do you hear me? Thomas will be okay. I promise.”

So like. I love this trope. Something about the character who’s learned to suppress or is otherwise out of touch with their more sentimental emotions fumbling to provide support for the more sensitive and prone to breaking down of the pair, the stoic one doing the little they can think to do in the moment to help the person they care about most in the whole world, and in the process their own repressed, messy emotions bubbling to the surface...

That shit fucking gets me, man. And I love, love writing it.

...and hey, while I’m here, looks like there’s a specific idea that came up in both fics...

An update since I’ve been gone

So it’s been 2 years, I’ve learnt some stuff and grown as a person and all that jazz. Recently I’ve been itching to write again, and after drabbling in some fanfictions and short stories. I really want to get back to the fandom tumblr community. Or at least be active in it. The undertale fandom isn’t as active, from what I’ve seen. But I’m excited to just be writing again. It seems like some people would like to see headcannons, so I actually do want to start again. I’ll figure out which fandoms to do, the rules etc. That is if i get submissions since those are what run an ask/headcannon blog. So once i get things up and running, feel free to send in!

oh and ya girl’s 18 now so ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) might be some more variation to the content if you catch my drift wink wonk. I’ll put eventual nsfw under a read more which is only for 18+ peeps.

So, for the personal. While I’ve been gone I’ve managed to:

Get a tattoo!

Get an amazing boyfriend who flew from Australia to Sweden to meet my ugly goblin self

Get diagnosed with ADHD-PI (explains a LOT lmao)

Get evacuated from my house because of water damages, almost being homeless before being shoved into a tiny apartment with a weird layout (great surroundings tho)

Been to France for a week

+ almost be okay at french

Sort of fell behind a year in school because of anxiety being Not Nice™

And sleep a L O T

In reality, though, I wanna become an animator of sorts, but I know in my head with irl issues I'll never be able to, so maybe an animal caretaker or smth of the sorts! I love animals with all my heart so to give them all happiness, care, and love would be a dream to me, no matter how big of an ass they are.

I've also really had a liking to vocal work or dancing of the sorts! The issue is that I can't stand being on stages, or on the spotlight, so I've only taken vocal works and dancing of the sorts to a hobby.

14. dream trip:

I don't have one, actually!! As long as I can be stress-free and with ppl I love or friends, I'd be perfectly fine wherever I am!! In all honesty, Japan would be cool to visit for the merch and for the cuisines (I hope i spelled that right it’s 12 in the morning) and etc there! Also seeing some things in Japan, it would be nice! Ofc It'll probably never happen but dreams are always dreams!!

15. Instruments:

I always wanted to learn how to play a guitar, even my parents bought me an expensive guitar but I'm scared of breaking it with the price, so it's probably collected dust since then. If you also wanna consider it, I love to sing when I'm alone or doing work around the place! It's calming to take your mind off of something else and singing is one way to do it.

16. Languages:

English and German! German isn't a main language, nor am I really well at it. I also do know a few Tagalog curse words or terms from my ex! It's not much, but it's something!

It becomes different overtime, it's just always something new every day, or week, or who knows! The list goes on.

18. If I were an animal:

I wouldn't even know that myself, I mean, I'd like to consider myself an animal people would snuggle, bc I just love cuddling things!! Ngl I was about to say a fictional animal or creature before screaming at myself about it not being real. I suppose a rabbit would work? Again I'm not sure.

Even if I'm gonna sound like a pig here, I love almost all foods! I have certain comfort foods which are probably gonna sound stupid in the end, but yeah! There's so much you can't even choose!

20. Random Fact:

I have a scar on my knee, which I'm actually afraid of because it's glued. I have no idea why I'm afraid of it though! Another could be that sometimes I've actually wished to be an A.I of sorts, again, I don't know why, I think it might just be a random thought that comes up when I'm stressed, but I'm not sure.

It’s time for the Semi-Annual “Fresh is Never Leaving This Fandom!” fic idea tour! In which under the cut I’m going to talk about fics I’m currently working on and how much longer I expect them to be, as well as long fics I have ideas for and how lengthy I expect them to be in the long run. There’s gonna be probably spoilers so look away if you don’t wanna see them! Also this is really long so be prepared for that.

I’m also going to be discussing some of the mini series that people have funded recently, so there’s that lol

Anyways, ranting and rambling under the cut!! This is more or less a way to keep excited about some of my ideas and get some of you hyped as well ^^ (And also a way to assure anyone wondering “hey, fresh has been here for a while, are they ever leaving?” that the answer is no, apparently not)

Current Fics

Okay so I have around 5 long fics, 1 series, and 1 mini series I’m currently working on. They are as follows:

A Silver Chain: A fic about vampire Honey and polyruses with the other Paps being hunters. Is well on its way but needs re-done in a few places so its currently on hiatus.

Little Fangs: A fic about Dadby and older bro Papyrus with babybones and Badster. Is not even close to halfway done, depending on how far I end up going with the narrative. Might end up being one of the longest fics I write.

Moral Compass: A fic about assumed bad brothers and possible Blackcherry goodness. Is basically 3/4ths done at this point, isn’t meant to be a super long one. Was pretty much completely funded by @1readervb so shout out to them for being a super cool peep.

Hold Myself Together: A fic about Bad Bro Red and how Fell gets a better life. Just started, but based on how long the first iteration of this story was, I’d say this one will be a little longer than C&S ended up being.

Garish: A fic about a Reader who ends up with the Swell bros as roommates. Might end up being both Reader/Swell bros and Reader/Fell bros, but I haven’t decided. Just started, might be a long one.

Bitter White Memory: A series about how Fell and Stretch get together based on an attempt to keep the Edgelord feeling safe. Only has two parts so far so nowhere near done. I’ve just been too busy to write the next part lol whoopsies

Cherries in Snow: A funded mini series about abused Red falling into Undertale, with Kustard and a little tiny helping of Cherryblossom. One chapter so far, but there should only be about five so it won’t take super long.

There’s also two more mini series that have been funded, but one I only have part of the info on and the other I have no info on, so they haven’t been started yet. (One of them is about Omega Paps in a A/B/O world so that’ll be fun ;;;))

Fics I want to Continue/Rewrite

This is a list I didn’t know I was adding until I was in the middle of making this post. There are a few fics I’ve started and then pretty much abandoned, or that I left behind because I no longer wanted to write them. They are:

The Reset Conundrum: A fic that I wrote a long time ago and never finished about Papyrus and Sans going through the Resets and various endings together, with a happy ending of course. It was a popular one, but I never finished it because I got bored with the idea. I was thinking about it recently and kind of wanted to revisit the idea. Its on this list because I might just do it.

The Ole Razzle Dazzle: A fic I started and then revamped as a fic about Razz and Slim and how they react to a pacifist Chara moving through the Underground. Kinda looking forward to this one, not going to lie.

Sparks and Wires: A fic that I started because of my love for the game D:BH and its androids. About Android Honey and his owner Fell, and how they fall in love. Basically self indulgent Spicyhoney lol

Long Fic Ideas

So just about once every other week I get a new fic idea, and if I like them enough (and can actually imagine myself writing them) I write them down in a doc. Now I’m going to talk about them all in as much detail as I have so ya’ll get comfy this is gonna be a long’n. (These are not up for adoption they are things I plan to write myself.)

The Great: A fic idea @badgertablet came up with and I helped round out. Ambassador Paps with a side of Polyruses and lots of angsty pining and hurt/comfort. Is going to be a longer fic, since there’s a lot of background stuff and quite a bit to set up. I’m really really looking forward to this one though, is going to be a gift for Badg (but shoosh no one tell them).

Family Portrait: A fic idea for Middle Bro Gaster with Paps and Sans. Basically going from Sans’ birth to Gaster falling into the Core to the kid saving everyone and Sans pulling Gaster back out of the Void. Is going to be super long, so probably won’t get to this one for a while lol

Scattered Pieces: A fic idea for a character getting bitties that helps their life out. Lots of angst and hurt/comfort, as each bitty has its own backstory of woe. One I’ve had planned for a while but haven’t been able to sit down a write.

A Concerted Effort: A fic idea where Fell and Stretch have a one night stand and Fell ends up pregnant. The two of them don’t get along super well most of the time so its not like he can tell him, right?? Another old idea I just haven’t started yet lol.

Itty Bitty Teenie Weenie: A fic idea where a different character gets some specialty bitties, ones that need a bit more help than others. In the same universe as Scattered Pieces, probably going to be written after that one.

Segregation: A fic idea that @nurse-gaster came up with that I adopted. Bledgeup in a world where Fell monsters and Tale monsters live on different sides of the fence, a literal fence in this case. Going to be a gift for Nurse when I start writing it lol.

Recovery: A fic idea where a personal character of mine fosters special needs bitties and ends up with one for himself. Is part of a two fic series.

Caramelized Apples: A fic idea where my Caramel version of Slim ends up pregnant. I haven’t decided how yet, but its hurt/comfort and fluff, so no hard angst here!

Edgy but Smiling: A fic idea where an anxious Reader ends up with a Sansy and an Edgy who just want a good home.

You Got Me All Fired Up: A fic idea with Sans/Dante (my UF Grillby). I don’t know I just really like Sans and Fellby together and I want to write a slowburn.

Harried and Torn: A fic idea about Spicykustardpuff with lots of angst and hurt/comfort and maybe some fluff along the way. A slowburn because I’m a masochist.

Nice To Eat’cha: A fic idea based on the Asian side of the fandom’s art of Farmer Sans/HT Sans. Won’t be farmer Sans, but it will be a slowburn of Sans and Butch learning how to not judge each other for their own sins.

Seen in Glorious Splendor: A fic idea I had earlier today actually. King Fell, with possible Edgepuff or Polyruses, I haven’t decided yet. My own take on how Fell takes over as King of the Underground from Asgore.

There are a lot of iterations of Skelebros/Reader I want to write, so I’m just throwing a blanket over them called “Eventually”. Them being namely Swap Bros/Reader, Tale Bros/Reader, a reverse harem in my style, HT Bros/Reader, and something just Papyrus/Reader (which Papyrus you ask? all.)

And my Magnum Opus, Safe House, will be the last fic I write for this fandom. So when I start posting that, you’ll know we’re nearing the end.
