You can be kind and still not let people violate your boundaries.
You can be understanding and still not let people violate your boundaries.
You can be loving and still not let people violate your boundaries.
Being a kind, loving, and understanding person doesn't mean you're boundary-less.
When I learned that creating boundaries was a sacred gift to my mental health and growth, my life changed.
When I started honoring the boundaries I set with others, self-preservation became a more profound practice—and the relationships that were meant for me blossomed. The ones that were not fizzled out.
When I became confident enough to trust that having healthy boundaries didn't make me unkind + unloving, I felt more at ease.
I'm not sure who needs to hear this but, having healthy boundaries in your life and relationships is an act of self-advocacy. Everyone won't like hoice to honor your limits. Folks may feel a way when you start holding up your end of the boundaries and standing firm in them. Nevertheless, you deserve ease and clarity in the spaces and relationships that you're in. Do what you must to create a sense of calm in your life.
You’re allowed to stay rooted in kindness, love, and compassion—while also having clear boundaries.
