Alright as we draw near the end of the transrightsreadathon I thought I would post some recomendations of books by authors who are trans. I'm a huge fan of sff series so here are the first books in 4 series that really worked for me. They are exciting, romantic, brutal and thoughtful by turns. Each one has a wonderful sense of the world they exist in and the characters that inhabit those worlds and they play with tropes and themes in ways that I found interesting. Many of these have trans characters as well, but not all of them. Most of these authors have other books outside of these series that are also wonderful (you might see some of them in the other reclists that I am going to post). And these are just a handful of examples, there are so many fabulous books by and about people who are trans.
What are some of your favorite series by trans authors? Are there any I should give a try?
Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee
She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan
Witchmark by C.L. Polk
A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe by Alex White

Alex White, weeb trans girl who acts upbeat but is objectively one of my saddest OCs. She is trying her best.

truly nothing more depressing than when you finish a good book and happily trot over to the tags only to find them absolutely desolate. “So excited to read fanfic!”, you think. “I sure am ready to look at some art and memes too.” all the while unbeknownst to you, there are approximately 3 posts concerning said fandom. the most recent was posted in 2019. total cricket noises greet your search query.

Dear God it's pure agony being a fan of media that has a (near) nonexistent fandom😢. Like the tags are empty no fanart, no analysis, no memes I'm lucky if I see a gifset edit...Hell indescribable.
Please people I'm dying here, I'm writhing and crying. So like peep those tags pick up any that interest you and join me so their fandoms aren't empty and Inactive 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
