I was hit by the sudden idea of an alchemy/magic AU.  The kid is a happy nerd because he finally managed to get solve why a certain mushroom keeps glowing in the dark and plans to mix that glowing stuff into everything.  Kyle mainly specialises in alchemy, basic herbalism and knows a thing or two about necromancy, but he won’t admit that.
