someone remind me to write up my fh disability theory reading meta at some point
#ive got something. it's gonna overlap a bunch with the transhumanism theme and discuss ortegas internalised ableism#alongside the allegories of the enhanced for disability + racism/disability/poverty/queerness (cigs inherent queerness of fh post is inspo)#mostly started with thinking abt the parallels between sura and ortega and how they choose to deal with their disability#some similar and some wildly different#i love that so much of the cast is disabled and in such a variety of ways#owl lost her legs during the nanosurge and ortegas highly experimental mods let them walk again and enhance their agility/strength#+ other things (at Extreme cost.)#chen is multiply disabled with the multiple amputations and the gut issues#argents got the nanovore stuff and chronic pain#sidestep is autistic coded! also the paingate being broken can be an allegory for chronic pain/fatigue. no longer being able to push through#like they used to.#ramblings#fh meta

#my art#my ocs#oc art#santo armas#Ernest Rochefort#they’re so cute#I love them#I imagine Santo is very strong due to working in farms most of his life#he’s got broad shoulders and thick thighs that help him pick up heavy objects#also he is a hefty eater#he is a fast runner because of his leg strength but he has shit stamina so he doesn’t get very far before he’s dying 😭#Ernest was in the war ofc he got some muscle when training#over the years he didn’t train much#so he’s not as strong but he is quite agile#he has amazing stamina too which works in his favor since he travels lots and often has to walk long distances for days

and im like hmmm she can pivot w her front feet on a bowl. she can target objects with her hind legs… she… can stand really still

got a new tunnel for the cats, which is fun right? Except my almost 70lb dog thinks that this is also a tunnel for her and that she can fit through it. I’m betting her trainer’s going to get a kick out of that later this week

why does my fucking dog have to have ptsd.
#huh. why.#this fucking sucks come home from agility class crying lol#before her leg accident* when we had class she was fine *(leg accident unrelated to ptsd)#but at one of those classes before the aussie charged at her & knocked a gate into her & almost attacked her#so now she doesnt like white fluffy dogs. which i can deal with#but (just found this out in class today) she also doesnt like dogs running towards her#which really who can blame her thats a pretty normal thing for dogs not to like#but it fucking sucks because she uses her big scary bark when shes scared#it isnt her fault#but shes the biggest in the class & has this deep bark & growl#we were banished to the bathroom for that dogs run#shes fine when the other dogs are going around. she just doesnt like when the dogs run At her.#it just sucks#but other than class was good. she definitely has hound in her because she wouldnt leave the end of one of the tunnels until we got a lost#treat out from underneath it
