sometimes i just wonder what Andrew thought the first time they got into the dorms

remember that moment ? when Neil goes out to buy some shit and comes back and looses it when he realises someone 1. touch his stuff 2.put it all back together the right way 3.forgot the weirdly folded tags

first Andrew and his eidetic memory : did he left the tag on propose to mess with Neil ? did he not see them, thus couldn't replace it because it's a very fucked up things to do ? i mean, he's a foster child with heavy trauma, I'm sure he knows how to keep an eye on stuff, even more if it's the stuff of someone who could hurt his family so I think he knew and just wanted to leave it in the open for Neil to see but not obvious for any reational person to back him up

and in the possibility in which he did not realise there were tags to deal with, imagine his utter confusion at Neil's entrance in his dorm, messing with Kevin and glaring draggers at him because somehow he knows

or, if Andrew knew, he must have realised how dangerous Neil could be, because this kid knows exactly how to make sure no one can look into his bag without him knowing, he has this weird ass folder with Kevin and Riko everywhere, he comes, barging in, and spits french at Kevin's face

sometime I wish we had Andrew pov for the story, like, discovering Neil from an outside perspective, with him just being a new kid in a sport team, must have been a wild trip

Headcanon -Indian Renee!!

She grew up in Rajasthan and her old surname was Agarawal (because lbr she gives big Agarwal vibes) she was adopted later by a christian women (stephanie walker) from Kerela.

Later Renee moved to America with stephanie, bcs stephanie had family who lives there.

Despite being christian Renee and Natalie took part in (only the fun, non rlly religious bits) Indian festivals- namely Sankranti (kite flying), Holi (colour fights? Idk how explain) and Diwali (fire crackers)

Renee doesnt like Diwali as much as Sankranti and Holi, because the noise leave her feeling paranoid and a bit anxious

The inspiration for her coloured hair was Holi, especially since it was one of her only good memories from her childhood

Her favourite Mithai (sweets) are peda and rasgulla

Though I think she wouldn't have that much of a tolerance for spice- especially not after spending a good portion of her life in america and bcs I dont think her biological parents ever cooked actual food for her? They either forgot to feed her or ordered online most of the time imo

Other than that I think her comfort dish would be kichdi and her fav bollywood movie would be Dangal

(Also she has fair but tanned skin. She dyes her black hair platinum blonde whenever her roots start to show)

what do you think annoys kandrew most about the other as a roommate + what do you think they would say annoys them but they secretly like a lot (mostly thinking in terms of canon pre Neil and then when they’re all in the same dorm but you can expand any way you’d like :D)

honestly i feel like they could find anything to bitch about LOL

andrew gets particularly fussed with kevin when:

he's deep into one of his studies and taking notes because he has a habit of clicking his pen or doing that lil spin across his fingers with it. and while it doesn't always bother him, sometimes the sound of even another heartbeat in the room is enough to set andrew on edge. (tbh i think they both have stims that frustrate each other at points)

snoozing his alarm 16 times in a row which has led to having to replace it more than once

puts the toilet roll The Wrong Way

drinking directly from the milk carton like "an only child deviant"

kevin gets annoyed with andrew for:

smoking out the dorm window in winter when he can't be assed to drag himself to the roof

refusing to rinse dishes off because wet food makes him gag (tho he'd never admit it)

leaving lights on even after he's left a room with no intentions of returning

being the sink hoarder with anything and everything he might have as a toiletry spread out but will mock kevin about having personal cleaning services growing up (that kevin has gotten tired of arguing against because andrew just says it for kicks)

secretly tho i think andrew would bitch to the high heavens that kevin snores, but in all reality if he wakes up to it, it means kevin is still in the room and it grounds him a bit that he doesn't have to worry about going to look for him. kevin doesn't actually mind that andrew digs into his snacks because it means that he's at least getting the right amount of protein. and if kevin can't convince him to not be a picky eater, he can at least sus out what andrew will eat

Headcannons: maybe mine maybe regurgitated from elsewhere on accident

- in the future andrew won't admit it but eventually he sees Katelyn as family and maybe even as some sort of pseudo sister

- andrew and Katelyn are both really good cooks and once a month have little food competitions

- Katelyn is better at baking than Andrew, but Andrew is better at cooking than she is.

- Aaron and Neil actually get along later down the road

- it might've started all rocky and shit but eventually all the threats and jabs lose their heat and it becomes more good natured

- one day aaron and neil both have a particularly bad day where their pasts come fighting for their minds, they end up finding themselves in a quiet room and somewhere in the middle they start talking

*this is the moment they realize they are more similar and closer than they ever thought was possible.

** wordlessly they never speak to that realization but agree to keeo up the arguments because its too much fun to stop

- Katelyn and neil actually look very similar (like they could be siblings similar) they also act very similar

- neither aaron or andrew like to acknowledge this fact

- Katelyn and neil get along scarily well and like to have prank wars. No one survives their mischief

- kevin actually lives with Neil and Andrew. He has his own room. No one acknowledges this.

- Katelyn and kevin are indifferent to each other but also have similar mundane interests. (No i can not share what they are, i just know they exist)

-all 5 of them end up as neighbors. Katelyn and Aaron in a house next door to Neil, Andrew and Kevin. They all love it even if they wont outright admit it, they have no need to anyway; everyone just already knows

HC that Neil is INSANELY good at cleaning after himself. He never leaves crumbs when he eats. He never puts receipts down anywhere. He constantly changes his routine in small ways. He is literally always erasing himself, making sure to leave no clues for them to catch him with. Never stepping in mud because muddy footsteps are way easier to track. Making sure that his hair is not falling. He picks up everything after himself, even the smallest things. He can use a room and leave it like no one was there, ever. He doesn't have eidetic memory like Andrew — but he's just, if not more, meticulous.

It breaks everyone's hearts when they see this. He leaves the kitchen and it's like he's never been here. If you looked for clues of him in the foxhole, you would never find them. For some time, outside of the pictures that Dan took and his own possessions, there is no way to tell that Neil josten lives there.

Until, one day, there is.

The night before Andrew’s first pro game, he receives a box from a company he is intimately familiar with. Pretty pink calligraphy branding the pristine white box with Allison’s fashion logo. It’s a rather large box, and Andrew is expecting the worst, like bright pink pompoms, but when he opens it, there are several neatly folded piles of silky material—armbands.

The first pair in each bundle is a simple black, but as he goes through them, he finds the colors changing, colors matching his new uniforms, colors Andrew would never usually wear but was informed he’d have to during specific months of the year.

At the bottom of the box lay three pairs with a note labeling them “custom.” The first pair was all black, except for a small dagger on the insides of both wrists. The second set is similar in color, except when they catch the light, subtle color shines through. A stupid rainbow. The last set Andrew knows Neil must have had something to do with as they are bright orange and white, tiny little fox paws on the insides of both wrist.

There are two of each pair, thirty pairs total. At the bottom of the box is a note branded with Allison’s logo but also a tiny kangaroo, one that is also branded just above the elbow on every sleeve.

“First look at the new sports line. I call this one Rew.”

Andrew hates her, but he plays his first game, ensuring Allison’s logo is always visible.

going to school with Neil -and any of the fox- must have been wild like

imagine

following the same Spanish class or math class as Neil, seeing this kind of skittish kid who refuses to speak or aknowledge another soul, he's quiet, he's fine, he does want to work with anyone but he'll do it when he has to, like to train in Spanish and pairing but it's barely if anyone knows his name

turns out he's in the exy team, the one who make the news at least once a year because of drugs, death and whatnot

he shows up on social media after his interview with riko and Kevin and like, this is a random dude in class, but hes sitting beside two international superstar of sport and he's being sassy as hell

he's always tired but that's normal until he shows up after xmas absolutely beat, he's skin looks weird you don't really know why, there are some bruises showing under the makeup at the end of the days, he has a tattoo on his face ???, he's a red head ??? no one recognized him at first

then he shows up bloodied and battered after Baltimore and at this point nobody is willing to point it out,

don't get me started on the other sport students who had nothing to do with the team but woke up once a week to a fight between Seth and Kevin, matt and Andrew, Allison and Kevin, Allison and Seth, Nicky whinnying about shit, Andrew throwing shit around, etc

and Neil at the beginning was just standing behind, looking between the other foxes. imagine coming out of your room because some of the shitty neighbours are being noisy again and there is this random new guy standing and watching with careful eyes, a bit freaky, like. nope I'm out

Hi! I really love what I’ve read of your Aftg fics especially your kandrew piece even if it takes years… I thought it was such a perfectly ic take on the dynamic and the initial right-pereon-wrong-time of it all with a happy/hopeful ending. I was wondering if you have any headcanons or thoughts about what you think happens next for that version of kandrew in this verse? Just because I’m obsessed and can’t stop thinking about them <3

O-oh this is so kind 🥺🧡 I have a few lil ideas here and there for them!

They didn't immediately move in together or anything. Andrew was finishing up courses and I think they were still a bit raw from being out of each other's orbit. (Andrew eventually finds the excuse to continue his PhD in Kevins city and they eventually drop the whole tiptoeing thing and move in together)

Tw: sobriety and alcoholism: before the move Andrew tells Kevin he needs to get it sorted because he's not going through that twice (he would, but that's not something he wants to admit) its easier than he expects with the source of his stress no longer at arms length

Kevin sheepishly gets caught up on the others lives that Andrew keeps in touch with when they visit and vice versa. Renee acts as if there was no issue and delights in seeing him.

Aaron does not lol Always more perceptive than he's given credit, the first holiday he shows up to with Kevin present, he takes him aside. (Imagine a very surly Aaron cupping his toddlers head to his chest to cover her ears while he says something to Kevin) Andrew has never been made privy to what was said but Kevin looks a little pale every time it's brought up

Andrew adopts a sphinx and a maine coone. They grow on Kevin despite how awkward he is around how to handle pets.

Andrew attends all the home games in his own private seating. Kevin demands he tells him what went wrong with any play. (Andrew can't tell if hes working with a praise or degradation thing and Kevin finds the joke unnecessary to the conversation at hand)

Kevin no longer has to see a doctor about his high blood pressure after Andrew comes round

Andrew doesn't work a bar for obvious reasons and ends up working in adolescent programs for those who have had to sit through court hearings in any capacity. It's more self soothing than he lets on.

He doesn't talk to Kevin much about the anecdotal parts of his job, but there's no offense in it. Bee's still there for that part. (She also says she's very happy to see him content and he thinks that's a good word for it)

The press loses their mind one day when someone sees that Kevin is wearing a chain around his neck, looped through a ring. Andrew is far more careful about keeping his tucked in his shirt. There's never a formal ceremony but neither of them had much interest in one. (Andrew was the one who bought them)

Wymack has never been less surprised by anything in his life when Kevin told him that Andrew had moved in

They act just as old and married as they did in college and it hits Andrew like a brick when they're arguing about paint swatches in home depot for some house project years later. Andrew wins the fight and almost gets them kicked out of the store for being a little too affectionate about his epiphany

Idk I think they'd be content (read: happy) after a while 🥺🧡

I just want everyone on Andrew’s professional team to think Neil is a bad influence. Sure, Andrew had a bad reputation in college, but in reality he's quiet and keeps to himself and never starts shit (even if he will finish it). Meanwhile Neil is loud and brash and has public feuds with at least 5 reporters at any given moment. He averages one brawl a game and is known to be arrogant and difficult to get along with.

Neil finds it Delightful. He's thrilled by the idea that there's a whole professional exy team out there that feels nearly as protective of his husband as he is

When Andrew tells him their captain asked if Andrew had ever considered divorce Neil practically threw a party. He owns more merch for Andrew’s team than his own.
