Jude, when Kate accused him of having no love/being heartless because he refuses to go visit Ellis when he's sick: 'No love'? What's so wrong with that? Love is a curse.

He says if you lose it, you're sad, and it's the worst thing if it's taken from you. If betrayed, you resent them...and yet you're powerless to stop feeling it. It's pretty much the root of all misery and evil.

Jude: That's what I mean. Saying 'I love you' is the same as saying 'I curse you'.
