How do i explain the feeling of betrayal and sadness? Like 2021 AD still hurts so much. It was just horrible and to compense that (bc i am in love with softness ok???):

And the stars in your eyes will never die.

You took off your helmet and there are tears in the corner of your eyes. Everything hurts, especially your soul.

“How?” You asks yourself. The ground beneath your feet is gone; you are empty, you are alone.

You can hear them celebrate in the distance, the happy screams and the big smiles. The cold icy eyes that have nothing but smugness staring directly to you.

No, not only smugness; there is happiness, joy. That is how to win looks. You are not mad at him; he is just a kid at the end of the day. You are mad at them.

The one who are in charge, the ones who has been playing with you all the time; the ones that made this possible. You want to cry.

Your shoulders are bend with the weight of the world, «Atlas» a whisper make it through. Your knees are shaking and your bones turna into dust. You are alone.

There is no ground nor sky, nothing more than emptiness and the fire in your soul slowly fades away. The cold is numbing your hands, your nose, your heart.

They hate you, they hate what you mean to them. They are too young, too naive, too new to this sport; they take it personal and hold the issues close to their hearts; you miss being like them. Young and idealist, naive and hungry.

You don’t want to be alone, but you also don’t want them to be with you. There is an ache for the old ones, the ones who walked with you and somehow; in a very weird way appreciates you.

A hand clasps your shoulder, and soft blue eyes meet your brown ones. He is smiling with sadness and the warm of his hand comforts you; he is like the promise of a lively spring after the cold harsh winter.

Shushed words are exchanged, he is there with you. He is still there, in the middle of the chaos; and for a moment you are in the past, in a battle that long time ago felt like the most important one.

He is in navy blue and you are still getting used to the silver in your clothes. He is cheeky and you are bold, you two are too young.

—They still have too much to learn.

He said tired; watching them with soft but piercing eyes.

—Are they like us? —but what you really want to ask is «is he like me?»

His hand leaves your shoulder but the burning lingers.

—No. Never; no even if they tried— “Not even if he try”.

There is a silence; a comfortable one; the kind you can only achieve when the years shared between are too heavy.

—How do i keep going?—and it is a cruel question. But you can’t help asking. He smiles again, a little bit brighter this time and a glimpse of his old self appears.

—As always.

And the fire fades a little more; he can’t keep going. Why? For what reason? He seemed to sense his turmoil and the next words are like a breath of fresh air.

—You keep going as always, the same way you did in the past. You follow the same path that you had.

—I feel like a failure, a lie. — “an impostor” his traitorous mind supplies.

—You are bigger than this place, way more. You are brighter than the sun, it hurts to see you sometimes; every-time. Even for us -us who knows you from before- it is hard to reach you.

You are untouchable, unreachable. A legend, a myth; it is so hard to be even try to be at your level. It is impossible to compete with you, with what you represents.

When I see you, I no longer see the young driver who started with a big dream; nor the reckless pilot who defied all expectations. I only see the man, the rare talent shaped into a beautiful self; the man who is not afraid to raise his voice; who is fighting for something else, for the rest of the world.

You are the promise of a warm spring at the end of the cold winter. The soft flame in the middle of the breeze; you are the calm sea but also the crashing waves at the shore; the rain in the middle of the desert; the war when in peaceful times is needed and the peace when war it’s too much.

You are the impossible, the standard, the one everybody wants to beat and they will never do.

You are a fire, a storm, the ocean and the sky. The sun at it’s highest and the moon with such a soft beam. You are melted gold shaped and sharpened; silver mist; a magical being.

You are a legacy by your own; your name is craved into the history books. You are bigger, brighter; you are everything we dream of.

Your eyes have the universe brightest stars and your hearth is filled with the love of a lifetime an more. You are; you are. —

And those mentioned stars started to shine again; and the fire that was just a dim light was turned into a fire. He was going to burn everything in his path; and he was going to love with his whole.
