“What are you saying?” she shot him a dark look. “What sort of options are you talking of?”
“I’m just saying, we’re not living in the middle ages or in the 50s, we have access to medicine and...” he continued, stammering a bit.
“Yeah, we’re not in the 50s in the more,” Rachel agreed. “Is that why you’re bringing up my term?”
“I guess. Look, I know we haven’t really talked about these sorts of things yet,” he continued.
“Or at all,” Rachel agreed. Truth be told, they barely knew one another. And now, she was hiding out with his family and expecting?!
This was a mess.

i keep thinking about how despite poor things being a film very concerned with science, bodies, and female sexual liberation and including a deeply unwanted pregnancy as a key part of the protagonist's backstory there was no exploration of contraceptives or abortion and i think that's ultimately what made the film feel so shallow to me. bella never seems concerned with becoming pregnant (again), even during her time as a sex worker and that felt like a weird oversight to me considering how much of the film is about her growth into a sexually liberated woman navigating the world on her own. and honestly i thought it was such a waste that she just ends up becoming a mad scientist in the same vein as god (sticking a goat's brain into a man's body, for instance) because i thought it would have been really cool and fitting for her to develop an interest in reproductive healthcare, specifically in safely preventing or terminating unwanted pregnancies. maybe that's just a different story than the film was interested in telling, but that's how i feel!!

@arroganceandfear continued from here:
“If it is a mistake, then get rid of it, but this isn’t a choice I’m going to let you make in the span of a few minutes.”
Truthfully, it was because Stephen himself wasn’t sure of what he wanted here. Logic called for him to release his hold on Loki and to let her erase what they had started to make, but his heart? His heart called for the chance to give that being that did not properly exist yet an opportunity.
Stephen was a man with no family, and with only a handful of friends that he might have considered as such. Maybe… maybe it wouldn’t be so awful to have someone depend on him, just as he would depend on them.
“What if… What if I want it?” he dared to ask, fear and hope igniting in his gaze
Tear-stained eyes blinked with confusion at Stephen. Loki felt she should probably take her arm back now, and yet feeling his grip was a stabilising factor. It helped her feel less like the world was dropping away beneath her. But still she stared at him, incredulous.
"You?" This couldn't be real, surely. This was the last thing he could possibly say. "As far as I was aware, you cannot stand children, and you certainly wouldn't want one with - with me."
Loki didn't know what she wanted. This was all so much to take in that she preferred to be hysterical over rational, desiring to whip him up into as much of a frenzy as her own mind so that she didn't have to be alone in it. How could her body have betrayed her like this?

Can you really live with yourself knowing you have a daughter out there?
Is this a twisted kind of joke intended to tarnish my reputation? If so, you will need to try harder.

Like any parent who has given a child up for adoption or chosen to abort a baby, I will live on. Of course I will, because the decision does not determine my worth.

Unable to avoid the discussion of her “pregnancy” forever, Lina ends up stuck getting @sagetomashardy‘s stance on the matter as he tries to convince her how dangerous keeping her baby would be.
tw mentions of abortion
It seemed like every day Emre was telling her to go talk to Tomas, go see Tomas, why haven't you gone to Tomas yet? At some point Lina felt like she might snap, instead of giving him the usual excuse of being nervous about talking about this. She could only use that excuse for so long, but she would milk it for as long as she could.
So hers and Alex's place was like her little hiding hole. Being such close proximity to the farm she didn't want to leave too often in case she had to run into Tomas because knowing her luck the moment she stepped out of her hut he would be walking by. Emre must have said something about it by now, honestly she was surprised he didn't drag Tomas over for a house call. But that thought wasn't too far off as she heard the sound of Tomas' voice approaching along with a much higher pitched voice that she had to assume was his baby.
So Lina picked herself up from lounging on her bed and walked over to the door, timing her exit when it sounded like his voice was close enough to her place. "Oh, wow what a coincidence you're here." She said once she swung the door open for him, trying to sound impressed by their timing. "I was just on my way to see you."
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
"Were you, now." Tomas didn't doubt Lina, exactly; or at least he didn't doubt her in general, as a person. He had no real reason to think that she would lie to anybody, but the fact that she hadn't sought out medical attention in her condition, well. That spoke volumes.
Not that he blamed her, with what she was facing. "You know Flora, don't you?" Tomas asked, hefting the baby in his arms so she could turn and look at Lina. "She's getting big now but I think you might. From before we got here to South Beach, and my wi--" Tomas bit the word off, his stomach turning over. "Libby and I found her and took her in." How much did Lina remember from what her dupe did? Was it even worth Tomas bringing it up to remind her? And what would he even say--
Hey, d'you remember how your dupe did her best to make me feel like I'm attractive when I've never felt less wanted?
Yeah, that would go over great, not awkward at all. Flora peered at Lina and made three beeps before demanding to be put down, which Tomas obeyed, watching her imperiously start to explore the house. "So. I think we both know what you were coming to see me for."
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
"Oh, yeah, for sure." Lina confirmed with a nod. He didn't need to be nosey about it. Lina was sure she could play up with exhausted, worried and stressed out new mother if he felt like the way she avoided seeking help was a little bit suspicious. She wasn't sure how the proper way to react to all of this was, and she could argue there was no proper way because everyone was different. Just because she said she was planning on keeping the baby didn't mean she couldn't also be terrified about hearing the procedures.
But now she probably couldn't escape the talk with Tomas there. Thankfully, the baby in his arms, Flora was a good buffer. "Right. Yeah, I remember her. Not like I was really close with the parents but kind of hard to forget when a baby is born around here." It felt like her and Flora were having a bit of a staring match as Tomas held her, like the two of them were trying to understand each other. As her way of calling a truce, Lina reached out and booped Flora's little nose before looking back at Tomas.
"I'm sure...Emre already told you what happened. We already talked to Nesh about it and Emre loves to mention how you're riddled with horror stories on the subject so, sorry if going to see you has been a little easy to push back."
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
"No," Tomas said after a moment of being flabbergasted, "it's not like you can forget how babies get born around here." He watched as Lina tapped Flora's nose, cool as a cucumber,  before Tomas put the toddler down and she went off her own way. Either Lina hadn't been aware of the issues concerning childbirth on the island, despite the no doubt tense atmosphere surrounding the arrival of baby Flora into the world, or she ... she what? Thought things would go easily for her?
"Riddled with--" Tomas began to repeat after Lina gave her opinion on the matter, then made a frustrated sound. "Listen! If Emre told you anything regarding what I know about island pregnancies, and if you listened to even a quarter of it, you'd be shaking in your boots, missy." He frowned deeply at her, regarding her midsection with a considering look. "You can't be very far along. That means that you have options, Lina." Tomas met her eyes, holding her gaze. "I don't know if Emre told you that part. Or if Dr. Nanku would've offered it."
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Lina watched the way Tomas got all worked up about her responses. She probably would have enjoyed this stern attitude if it weren't for the fact that it was in regards to her supposed pregnancy. Even if Tomas had any sort of attraction to her, she couldn't imagine he'd find this an appropriate time to do anything about it. So she crossed her arms and sat herself down while he went on with his suggestion of her having options that may not have been presented to her.
"Well sure but what's more dangerous around here? Having the baby or getting rid of it? Because I can't imagine an abortion is the safest option in this circumstance." She gladly would have taken it as an option if she didn't back herself into this corner. Part of her wondered if Nesh would be able to lie on her behalf, but it seemed unlikely and she couldn't bring herself to tell him the truth. "Neither of them told me much, they were more focused on their pissing contest. But I have a feeling that my options are limited and both are risky."
She leaned her head back in exasperation, glancing over to see Flora's exploration resulted in her finding some of Lina's clothes to play with. "Hey munchkin, those clothes are way too big for you." She said, attempting her best 'cool aunt' voice, hoping the toddler didn't start putting things in her mouth. "What would you suggest I do then? Because I'm just trying to go with the lesser of two evils here, but if you have a better alternative, I'm all ears."
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
"Having the baby! Having the baby is very much more dangerous than aborting it!" Tomas was aghast. When Iyaz had arrived on the island he'd taken over all of the contraceptive talks (well, Tomas had forced him to, but who was counting?) but there were obviously gaps in island education. What with Lina being from South Beach and all. "Look, Lina -- I'm not saying this lightly. I know it's a big decision. But it's the safer choice when it comes down to it. You don't want to know all the complications that childbirth involves, in a proper hospital much less here. Even with a proper doctor to deliver."
Lina looked exasperated, and Tomas was frustrated. She obviously could get laid whenever she felt like it and from what he'd heard on the outskirts of island gossip, wasn't parsimonious with her favours; why was this such a new issue for her? Surely she'd been versed on the contraceptive tea up till now. He frowned, ignoring whatever Flora was getting into to train his attention all on Lina, crossing his arms along with the scowl.
"I suggest you tell me why you slipped up with the tea," Tomas said. "I severely doubt that you'd be that careless. You're..." he paused, pressing his lips together for a moment before confessing, "your dupe came on to me. I didn't realize it wasn't you until all the tree-trapped people got found. And if I wasn't very much in love with my wife, I would've screwed her in a heartbeat." He shrugged one shoulder. "You're a beautiful girl, Lina, you don't need me to tell you that. And I don't think you've lacked for company when you want it. So tell me the truth."
Tomas reached forward, catching her chin in his hand tightly. "Did you get pregnant on purpose?"
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Lina had completely been making assumptions about what option would be worse. She mostly considered how unlikely it was for them to be able to do a safe and proper abortion around here. And then if she really was pregnant, that would easily be two lives lost. She had to try and think about it from a motherly point of view and not as someone who was faking a pregnancy. "Well I don't know okay! I've never had to go through this before and I'd probably be able to properly understand things if everyone wasn't choosing to yell at me about it."
When he held her face in his hand, locking his stern gaze on her, she assumed he was completely onto her about lying. Lina was prepared for him to say outright she was faking until he opened his mouth and asked if she got pregnant on purpose. He still thought she was up to something but hadn't caught on just yet. "No! Of course not! I didn't–this was an accident. I don't have sex every day so I don't drink the tea every day. But sometimes Emre would come around to drag me away somewhere for a quicky and I guess this one time I got so wrapped up in it I forgot to mention I didn't drink it, he forgot to ask and he fucked me so good that taking it after we were done slipped my mind. And I've had enough experience off the island to not expect to get knocked up from the one time we don't use protection."
She didn't bother pulling away from his grasp, waiting for him to let go of her when he wanted to. "Why would I even do something like this on purpose? I understand it's risky, I'm trying to be chill and cool about it but maybe I am scared about making the wrong decision and things going wrong. I just...I don't know what to do." She finished quietly, her eyes mirroring something akin to fear at all of this. "And both doctors yelling at me isn't exactly helping, the only person who has been helping is Emre. So could you not make me feel shittier than I already do for like, five minutes?"
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
"Oh, don't give me that." Tomas had thought he'd be more gentle about this, all cotton-wool-wrapped and carefully-presented ideas and options to a young woman who'd found herself in a predicament, but the more he spoke to Lina the more agitated he was getting. "There's no way you can be this unprepared for what's happening. You don't have to have gone through having a baby to know the broad strokes on what it entails and--"
--and it wasn't like she didn't have a point. Tomas furrowed his brow, blinking at her in consternation as he thought about it. "You're right, though, I shouldn't yell at you. That's not likely to help any, is it." How deep should he go with this, exactly? Once she said that it had entirely been an accidental pregnancy, she hadn't decided to do this without (what Tomas considered) a measured and invested conversation about having a baby beforehand, he at least could shut down that avenue of concern. He grimaced reflexively when Lina laid the blame squarely at Emre's feet, not liking that much either, but again: not helpful to be judgmental. Not at this point in the proceedings. "Getting your brains fucked out isn't a reason to neglect contraception."
Okay, so it was harder than it seemed to keep from scolding her. Tomas kept hold of Lina's chin, just adjusting his grip so he was cupping her face rather than cinching her immobile. "You shouldn't be chill or cool about it. You should listen to me and to Doctor Nanku. And if I'm making you feel shitty, Lina, it's because I know exactly what you're facing when it comes to having a baby here and it's not good. It's not good at all. I think you should think seriously about ..." Tomas couldn't say it, abortion, hearing Flora in the next room giggling froggily to herself about something. "I think you should choose the other option. Terminating it." Less direct but no less firm.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Lina could see that playing this completely dumb wasn't enough for Tomas to settle in. He was too smart for that, and wasn't easily distracted either. But at least there was a pause at her argument about being yelled at, but the problem was, regardless of what he said and how he articulated it, it wouldn't mean anything to her. There were no actual stakes, nothing as serious as the death of her and her baby. Her only concern was making sure he didn't doubt her.
"Not particularly no. I've never responded well to yelling in situations like this." She was going to make a comment but had to refrain in case it made him more annoyed with her than he already was. Bringing his sex life into this wouldn't make things better. "I'll make sure to keep it in mind next time someone fucks my brains out."
Tomas stood firm in his opinion on the matter, that not carrying a baby would be a lot safer than doing so. And it was such an easy way out, if there was any way to actually get rid of a baby that didn't exist without everyone realizing that it didn't exist. Lina placed her hands over her stomach, as if there was something there to comfort, trying to think of what would be the best response to placate Tomas but also not put her in a situation that might get her caught. "I hear you, but it's a big decision. I mean its not guaranteed that terminating it goes well for me either, right? And I'm gonna be honest, Emre seemed to be ready to go into parent mode when I told him, which I did not expect. So as much as it's my body, my choice and all that, I also think it's fair to talk to him about it, see what he wants." She wasn't sure if it sounded sweet or stupid but she could work with whatever Tomas took it as.
"But theoretically, say we do end up wanting to keep it." Because then she could sit and wait til she came up with a solution to her lie.  "What then?"
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
"Terminating it is your best shot. I wouldn't say that lightly, Lina. Believe me." At least the girl was listening, now; Tomas had been getting the perplexing sense that she'd been more lost in her own rumination before and not particularly grasping the weight of what he was trying to get across. "I'm a parent, and my wife and I lost pregnancies. It's not easy. It can mess you up. But trying to carry a baby to term here and then giving birth? That's --"
He didn't want to think about Emre. Who was certain to want this, Tomas was sure; who'd be struggling with all the horror stories that Tomas had spilled out of his hands at the slightest provocation versus the huge, ragged, baby-brother-shaped hole in himself. It really wasn't fair. Emre would make an incredible father. He practically already had.
"It's a death sentence," Tomas finished, somewhere intermingled with Lina's decision that she needed to consult the father. "I can't say it any more plainly than that. But you're right, it's not my choice."
He skidded the heel of his hand up across his face, looking over at Flora, who'd discovered some kind of woven basket with a few sweet potatoes in it and had curled up in it to make friends with them. "If you want to keep your baby," he rephrased ponderously, to give it more weight, "then you have to visit the doctor regularly. Follow his every instruction. If he doesn't have time, then I'll do it. You'll have to adjust your diet and your daily habits. You'll have to stick to the beach here where it's populated and safe. If anything screwy happens -- like it does -- you'll have to be protected. A priority."
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Lina nodded as she listened to Tomas, wanting to look understanding and sympathetic to the truths he was sharing about his own experiences. "I'm sorry to hear that. I can see why this is important to you. I promise I'll take it all into consideration." Or at least use it to her advantage somehow. A sob story to make Emre rethink his desire to be a parent around here. Though if all the mention of death didn't deter him, what the hell would?
She knew she would have been scared if she actually had anything to worry about. This wouldn't even be a debate if she was pregnant, but she had a lie to drag out, she had to consider the best course of action. Like what the hell was she gonna do when she didn't start showing? There were getting to be too many eyes on her now, which, on one hand she was totally fine with, but on the other, this isn't what she wanted people paying attention to her for. "Maybe but...clearly it's worked out at least once." She commented as she gestured over to the baby touching everything in the place like it was her own.
"But I don't want to argue. I wanted opinions and options and...you're being very helpful by giving me your thoughts. So thank you." Lina could work with scheduled alone time with Nesh, he would be easier to distract than Tomas, who would probably be poking and prodding and asking far too many questions that Lina wouldn't have the answers to. "Understood. It's a big change, a lot to accommodate for. I'll talk to Emre about it and we'll make an executive decision and...go from there. I know it's very serious business so I'll do my best not to take any of this lightly anymore."
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
The shift in her attitude was palpable and Tomas felt himself ... not exactly relax, but at least be mollified by Lina stating out loud that she was more aware now about what she was facing. All of the dangers and troubles and intricacies.
"I don't want to argue either," he said, going over to collect Flora out of the basket. She protested but Tomas took one of the sweet potatoes to give her to keep her occupied, presuming that Lina could just hop down to the farm and get another if she wanted it. "I just needed you to know. How hard -- how dangerous this will be for you, if you decide to carry the child to term." He was heading for the door, but he lingered for a moment at it, not quite looking at Lina.
"Don't hold back," he said. "When you're talking to Emre. Don't reassure him that you and the infant will live through this, don't tell him that you want to try. Don't encourage him in any way. He'll..." Tomas shook his head. "Let me know what you decide."
He left it at that, stepping out into the sunshine with his own baby, who'd lived.
END.

And Baby Makes Four (1/1?)
**PLEASE DON’T REBLOG**
Soon after becoming headmistress, Farah makes an unexpected discovery.
Farah sat on the floor in her bathroom, leaning back against the vanity, staring at the two pink lines showing boldly on the test in her hands. Three times she had done it, just to make sure, and each one came out the same.
She was pregnant.
Her head fell back against the cabinets and eyes closed tight. This wasn’t happening. She was just starting to settle into her new position at Alfea and now this? Even though times were more progressive, she still imagined there would be some backlash from the parents regarding an unwed pregnant woman presiding over their children’s education. What a marvelous role model she was. She could hear Luna’s voice chiding her now: Really, Farah, you needed to be more careful.
They had been careful. “But obviously not careful enough,” Farah muttered to herself dryly, running a hand over her face.
Of course, she didn’t actually have to have the baby…but something inside her cringed at the idea of aborting the pregnancy after Aster Dell. The idea of ending a life that hadn’t even begun was an anathema after all those that had been lost already.
A sigh escaped her as another realization hit: she would have to tell Saul. Saul, who already had his hands full with Andreas’ son. She’d be putting yet another burden on him, but the man deserved to know. Besides, it’s not like she could hide her condition for longer than a few more months-and he had already caught her throwing up more than once…
She reached for her phone where she had left it on the sink, pulling up his contact information and sending a simple text: I need to see you. That done, she let the phone drop back into her lap and closed her eyes again, trying to relish the last few shreds left of what had been a relatively uncomplicated life. Once she told Saul, once she actually said the words out loud, everything would change in an instant and never be the same again.
God help her.
                                                            ~
“You’re pregnant?”
Saul stared at her, stunned, clearly not having expected this any more than she had. This is even more emphasized by his next remark: “You’re not joking, right?”
Farah fixed him with a look, arms folded across her chest. “Do you honestly think I would joke about something like this?”
“No,” he sighed, rubbing his neck. “No, you wouldn’t…Jesus, Farah.”
“I know.”
He hesitated before broaching what he knew was a sensitive question. “And you are keeping it?”
It was her turn to sigh. “Yes, I’m keeping it.”  She paused, tucking a loose strand of dark blonde hair behind her ear. “I had considered doing otherwise for a moment…but I can’t.”
Saul nodded, understanding. “So, what does this mean for us?”
Farah leaned back against her desk, dropping her gaze and biting her lower lip. “That depends on whether or not you want to take on the responsibility of another child.” She looked back up at him. “I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t, Saul. I can manage on my own if it comes to that.” Somehow.
It was his turn to give her a look. “You know I’m not going to do that to you. As…surprising as it is, I’m partially responsible for…” He gestured to Farah’s abdomen. “This. And that means I’m going to step up and do my part.”
She didn’t even try to hide her relief. “You’re a good man, Saul Silva, you know that?”
Stepping closer, he reached out to cup her face in his hand, caressing her cheek. “I have to be to deserve you.”
Farah smiled softly, leaning in to kiss him. Maybe they could make this work after all.

Why did Becca go to Vought when she realized she was pregnant?
It was obvious she hadn’t told Butcher what happened. She went to Vought, because she was blaming herself for her rape. If she told Butcher, it would mean telling him she was raped, and that was what she couldn’t stomach.
Despite the things she says to him in Season 2 before she forces him to leave, she trusts and loves Butcher, and HE was not the main reason she went to Vought.
She also knew what going to Vought would mean. They would never let her get an abortion. And they would never let her go home. She wouldn’t see Billy ever again. And it killed her, but she had already bonded with the little life inside her and was determined to do right by it.
She went to Vought, because she saw it as the best chance for her child, and because she couldn’t stand the thought of telling Billy what happened.
She just didn’t realize how hard Billy would fight to get her back/find out the truth.
She thinks, at least before that van gets thrown off the road, that if she sees him again this time, they’ll be able to work things out.

single co-parent au/verse for both gina & pitch bc i've got it on the brain lately
in the time that gina and pitch were in a relationship, close to the time she was deciding to break up with him, she had found out she was pregnant.
at first, she was thinking about just getting an abortion and never telling pitch, but she knew that wasn't fair to him and he deserved to know. and if she ended up getting an abortion, it would be something they'd have talked about instead of just her impulse decision.
it took her about a week to finally gather up the courage to tell pitch about her being pregnant, and he was shocked, to say the least. the two were certainly not ready to be parents, and it wasn't something they had discussed either.
in the end, pitch said he would go along with whatever gina wanted since she would be the one carrying the baby if she decided to keep it.
however, after a few long discussions, gina had decided to keep their baby despite her negative feelings about being a mother and raising a kid on her own like her mother.
despite them having a baby together, gina had still made up her mind to break up with pitch, and she didn't want their baby together to be a reason to stay together when she wasn't even sure it was what she wanted.
even after they'd broken up, pitch made a promise to stick around and be there for gina and their baby even if they weren't in a romantic relationship anymore.
after gina gives birth, she has a moment of panic where she thinks about giving their baby up for adoption, but after holding her baby girl for the first time, she knows she can never part with her own child even if she's not ready to be a mother.
they named their daughter saengdao: which means starlight and often refer to her as just dao, which means star. they both also call her their little star.
for the first six or seven months after their daugther is born, pitch is around almost all the time to help out with whatever he can and so gina can also heal and recover and take care of herself as well as their baby.
as much as pitch wanted to be around more, however, he couldn't take any time off work so he started to be around less and less but he'd still always call or check up on them whenever he could.
after dao turns one, the two begin working on a schedule for them to take turns having her and trying to find a system that works in a way that they both get to spend time with her while still maintaining their work and life balance.
in the time that gina was home, she had someone take over her duties at the club, but it was only temporary and pitch could only work from home so much. though, it was easier to have pitch take her to work when he could during the evening/night when gina had to be at the club late hours as she wanted to limit dao's exposure to having to be in the club as much as possible.
both of their coworkers absolutely adore and dote on dao whenever they have her at work. the girls at gina's club will often ask to babysit or offer to look after her while gina's working while pitch's coworkers always fawn over her and will look after her if he has podcasts guests to interview, but if he's just doing his radio hosting, he will usually keep her with him while he's recording.

Head canons. Annaleigh and her biological father. A rewrite, of a previous head canon from an old blog.
As I've stated in Annaleigh's biography, she doesn't know who her biological father is. He wasn't around at all during her childhood. As a small child, Annaleigh used to want to meet her father. She wanted to know the mysterious man her mother never talked about. Eventually, she started asking her mother questions, but the woman would never give her proper answers. Gwendolyn always used to tell Annaleigh that she didn't need that man in her life and that she was better off without knowing him.
Those answers never satisfied Annaleigh and after enough asking, her mother finally told her the truth. Her father wasn't in their lives because he abandoned them. Gwen didn't tell her the whole story, just that he didn't want to be in their lives. And that was why he wasn't around.
This broke Annaleigh's heart and overtime she grew to resent her father, the man she'd never met. After her mother passed, the man wasn't even there for her then. She never got the chance to meet him, but overheard some adults talking about how her father didn't want her. She decided from that point on that she didn't need him and she didn't want anything to do with the man. She has never tried to seek him out or find out who he is. She doesn't care anymore, because he never tried to be a father to her then. So why would he want to now? Since then, he's never tried to contact her and she's okay with that.
Now, more info on Annaleigh's father and his relationship with her mother. (His name is currently unknown because in all this time I never gave him one. I need to get on that.) Anyway, he and Gwendolyn dated when they were in their early twenties. He was a man that didn't have what it took to be a father. Had he chosen to be in Annaleigh's life, things would've been much harder for her. He was an addict who couldn't hold down a job, spending all of his money on drugs and alcohol. Annaleigh's mother knew he was bad for her, but she loved him.
Gwendolyn's pregnancy wasn't planned and when he found out, they got into a huge argument. He didn't want to keep the baby (Annaleigh) and thought his girlfriend should get an abortion. Gwendolyn didn't want an abortion. She believed it was her body, so she should choose what she does with it. Abortion wasn't something she was comfortable with, because she believed every life deserves a chance. And she didn't want to put this baby (Annaleigh), up for adoption either. She wanted to raise this child as her own, whether the father wanted to be apart of their lives or not.
In the end, Gwendolyn and her ex (Annaleigh's father), broke up due to the dispute. Annaleigh's mother was heartbroken and vowed to not let Annaleigh's father into their lives. At first, she didn't want her child to know she was unwanted by her father. But eventually, the truth came out after Annaleigh asked enough times. His name isn't even on Annaleigh's birth certificate and she's got her mother's last name.

@asoulunbound asked: there are things that you say ,  and you don’t say . (Perses for Pallas)
Pallas's features scrunched up as Perses lectured him. He was the middle brother beyond age but position, standing in between his brothers and their father...or their own egos and poor judgement. The protector despite his destructive manner. He could cool Pallas's temperament but he was too late to the latest crisis in their family. Pallas worked alone, knowing either of his brothers would disagree. But he was hot headed, often impulsive and didn't consider others. Selfish and overly protective. To protect his family, he often found himself at odds with extremes. And perhaps this was the worst yet. He could see that now but not in his rage and concern (they were still present but now considerate of their mother and forthcoming sibling).
"And you don't think I've been beating myself up for what I've done? The mere suggestion of having our mother terminate her pregnancy? I thought it could keep Crius away from her. She could finally be free of him with no final ties. Thinking her last lover could help," Pallas paused and a gulp ran down his throat. The scene his wife described to him sounded like pure horror and a fate he was thankful to be spared from. He already suffered by the hands of his father enough.

"Styx saw the Ram drag him into Tartarus. Tortured him before sacrificing him as a prisoner. And now here we are...Mother passing through each of us to avoid the Ram. She'll end up going back to him as she always does but we can try prolonging her return. He has stopped by your home for mother has he?" Pallas questioned his brother, crossing his arms against his chest. It wasn't safe for their mother to be alone; her first stop was Astraeus's and now Perses's. But he couldn't predict if Eurybia would stay with him and Styx given his involvement in the first place is what displaced her.

Life's Greatest Gamble
25 Mars 2021
Det är positivt…
Agnes looked down at the two blue lines, clear as day. There was no misreading this test. Or the one with the two blue lines she'd taken earlier that day. Or the other one with the two blue lines she'd taken before that. Three positive home tests... She knew the likelihood of getting three false positive results was minuscule. She knew that meant only one thing:
She was pregnant.
Sat with her back against the shower/bath combo and knees drawn up to her chest, the brunette was left utterly speechless by what had just been confirmed. She'd had some suspicions for several days now, which is what ultimately led her to purchase the box of tests from the local apothecary. After all, breast tenderness and recurrent bouts of nausea were typically indicative of only one thing: pregnancy. And since it had only been several weeks since she attended a party with some of her friends from Lund University and got drunk enough for her ace spectrum self to actually desire having sex...
Japp. She was pregnant.
There wasn't a doubt in her mind what she was going to do about this pregnancy, about this little life just beginning to grow inside her womb. This child was hers; and she already loved them more than she thought it was possible to love anything. Straightening out her legs, she placed a hand on the small of her stomach, knowing it would only be several more weeks before it began to swell with signs of life. And she made a promise. She made a promise to herself and to her unborn child that she would be the best mamma—even if she had no clue how to be even a mediocre mamma. After all, her own mother hadn't wanted children. The woman had abandoned her and her brother when they were small. She had no woman in her life to look up to in terms of entering motherhood. Yes, she had her pappa and the undying love and support he'd shown his children over the years; but it wasn't the same.
There were so many unknowns to accepting and following through with this unplanned pregnancy, with carrying to term and planning to keep and raise the baby as her own. But despite each and every unknown, her certainty that it was all worth the risk was stronger.
~
The rest of that day was a blur to Agnes. She was still trying to fully wrap her mind around what she'd just learned despite having already made a decision regarding how she was going to proceed. It wasn't until almost a full 24 hours later that she picked up her phone and FaceTimed her pappa.
"Hej pappa..."
"Hej älskling. Är allt okej?"
It was as if Göran could tell just by looking at his eldest's face through the phone screen that this wasn't just a normal call; and because of this the brunette decided to dive right in to the reason behind her call. She asked her pappa if he could take the train from Falun down to Lund for the weekend. It was a 7hr train ride; but she had something she wanted to discuss with him in person. This news she had to share was not something to be shared over the phone. He agreed and said he'd clear his schedule. He then asked what was so important that she couldn't share over the phone and made a joke asking if she was pregnant or something. He honestly hadn't expected that to be the case. The change in his daughter's expression told him everything he needed to know; and after taking a moment to step away to somewhere where they could chat in privacy, he began to tell her he'd catch the first train down to Lund and they would discuss things further. But before they ended their video chat, he did have one important thing to tell her:
"Oavsett vad du bestämmer dig för att du vill göra åt graviditeten kommer jag att stödja dig fullt ut."
From there, Göran let his daughter know he wouldn't hesitate to take her to the clinic for an abortion if that's what she so desired. But before he could finish his thought, Agnes cut him off. She shared how she'd already made her decision the instant she saw the two blue lines. She was keeping the baby. This child was hers; and she loved them with her whole heart, with every fiber of her being. An abortion was not an option for her. It wasn't an idea she entertained for even a fleeting thought. And just like he'd promised, Göran supported this decision. He fully accepted the fact he was about to become a morfar.
Like he'd promised, Göran took the train from Falun down to Lund that weekend. He brought his daughter to the clinic for the sole reason of having the pregnancy confirmed by the doctor. And when it was confirmed that Agnes was, in fact, pregnant, he cried tears of joy and uncertainty with his daughter.
"Du kommer att bli en fantastisk mamma."
"Hur vet du?"
More than joy in that moment, there was a spiraling of uncertainty. How could her pappa know she was going to be a fantastic mamma? How could she be a fantastic mamma when she had no mamma of her own to look up to? Agnes began to question whether or not she could actually do this. She already knew she was going through with the pregnancy; there was not a doubt in her mind about that. But that uncertainty began creeping its way to the forefront of her mind regardless. Was she making the right decision? Would the child be better off being adopted by someone else, by someone who knew how to care for a baby and was ready to do so?
A child had not been in the plans for Agnes. She hadn't given much thought, if any, to becoming a mamma someday. Her plans were to graduate from Lund University with her B.S. in both forensic science and forensic psychology and then begin attending the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm the following year where she planned to get her Masters in forensic toxicology. And from there, she planned to get a job hopefully back in her beloved Dalarna. And if not Dalarna, elsewhere in Sweden. Nowhere in her plans was there room for a child.
Yet here she was, less than nine months away from meeting the little life now growing inside her...
~
"Vad heter han?"
"Gunnar... Han heter Gunnar Emil."
Tumblr media
The instant her son was first placed on her chest for skin to skin and she watched the marvel that was the newborn's instinctive breast crawl as he found his way to latch for the very first time, Agnes knew beyond any and all doubt that she'd made the right decision. This child, this baby boy, was her everything.
~
The greatest gamble Agnes ever took in life was the commitment to bring her son into this world; and it was, by far, also her greatest win.

prima ballerina, it was what they called her for the work with the russian company. she was a star , with strict parents who did more than simply support her dream. they made sure to control every aspect of her life , ' so she could remain peacefully at the top ' , they used to say.
after years of shining on stage , life took a turn when she suddenly got pregnant at the young age of twenty five, her career at its prime. her parents quick to tell clary that an abortion was the only way , but she had other plans in mind.
she wanted her daughter to be born into this world , but also had no interest in raising her & abandoning her career at the russian ballet. and so, she turned to the child's father, who seemed enthusiastic enough at the idea of keeping the little girl.
her parents made sure to keep it all under wraps , as to not affect her career and after a year out of the public's eye ,she was back to shining on stage.
but glory did not last long - after an accident at the theater , a tragedy that left many dead , and clary severely injured , her journey in the ballet had come to an abrupt end , and she was grateful to at least escape with her life.
without any true goal in sight , her mind turned back to her daughter who was now an infant , and she decided it was time to make herself present on her life. clarisse then made the move to notting hill , hoping to be close to the little one, for the selfish reason of not having anything else that truly belonged to her.
a few years later , with the remaining money from the ballet, she opened ' the baby class ' with a friend, a ballet studio that doubles as a classical music school for beginners.

How fucking clueless do you have to be to try and talk about politics that aren’t going on in your country that don’t affect you while you’re a fucking minor? I’m sorry that you’re anti-abortion and anti-lgbtq, but please fuck off. You can have an opinion, but don’t expect everyone to baby your sorry ass about it. You’re not from the U.S., you don’t get what it’s like right now with this bullshit.
