Of all the characters Kanda and Johnny becoming bros while acting as emotional lifelines for Allen gives me super feels. I remember when I first started dgm my brotp was Allen, Lenalee and Lavi. While I do miss that trio hanging out a lot. Now I'm like, it's Allen, Johnny and Kanda bro show time! (At least I'm happy about Lenalee and Marie being bros in their absence. They're like partners in literal crime. Go Lena and Marie take the Order by storm!).

aahhh YE TRUE.

I love, love what happened with Kanda and Johnny - hell with Johnny in general. I would never have expected him to have such an important role (like he was the most focused on secondary character but i’ve never expected it to that point), but i am delighted that a character identified by his kindness and compassion ended up using those to face the odds and find Allen.

The fact he ended up bounding with Kanda along the way was freaking amazing, a ray of sunshine meeting a gloomy cloud and doomed to get along. I live for this sort of dynamic.

And that now both of them are acting to help out Allen as much as they can with their different methods makes me very soft, we’ve come a long way.

Allen/Lenalee/Lavi is a whole other dynamic and if anything in the past it wasn’t exactly emotional support (that said none of them really had had the major story beats to develop their own rapport to their emotions especially toward Allen, when they were in focus), just more companions slowly ending up caring for one another.

Allen/Kanda/Johnny is already more settled and as long as Allen is the goal, well, Allen is getting therefore all the support ever.

(hell i feel like comparing those trios is a lot of, Allen/Lenalee/Lavi were discovering each other in a way, Allen/Kanda/Johnny know each other and are putting this knowledge into practice.)

But I do love the Duo Marie and Lenalee are creating and I would LOVE to see more bc they’re incredible together!

gah I love the direction the manga is taking that’s for sure :3c
