no special pillow! he just shoved his other bed pillow between his legs and dragged one of his couch cushions in bed to prop against his back. he tried to sleep on his side because he knew you weren't supposed to sleep on your back while pregnant, even though that's what his body wanted to do so bad.

mostly with a weapon. the good thing was mostly, morri learned to not transmutate most of the objects around the house after they had a particularly devastating feeding time where they were curious what would happen if they tried to change their baby bottle, and the milk all ran out.

big brain baby learned their lesson. plus, it meant those vaguely-alive whatsits that would sometimes emerge from morri's transmutation escapades were a thing of the past, as well as abruptly needing replacements for things they accidentally ruined.

but they really were insistent on making portals, which is where simon and betty would have to diligently watch the portal to make sure nothing came in for anywhere from 2 to 15 minutes, whenever the portal closed. usually, nothing happened, but there were several cases where something did come out, and it wasn't always friendly (in fact, sometimes quite the opposite) so betty would have to dispatch it to protect her family.

the most nervewracking thing for simon was when betty was out scavenging, and morri opened a portal, and he'd have to keep watch alone- not that he wasn't capable of defending himself, but who knows what would come out of those portals.
