Just in case you ever foolishly forget; I'm never not thinking of you.
― Virginia Woolf, Selected Diaries
Trains are arguably the centre of everything. The sinew of civilisation for muggles and wizards alike. They are where all walks of life converge. Congregate. In synchronised traversal. Shared agony inflicted by the piercing screech of metal on metal, bonding all patrons aboard a carriage. And outside. A passing glimpse of someone you thought you’d never see again. Trains. They change everything.

“You’re still with Timothy McKinnon?” “Yeah.” He nodded and took a swig of beer. “Actually we’re engaged.” He put down the glass a little too roughly. “Oh.” Oh.
Lust is so inadequate. And loving exhausts me.

Lily was breath and bucking hips and grappling fingers. She was a plant in darkness and he was the sun. Light streaming through a window. Hot breath on her neck. He was temptation, salvation. And Lily was nothing if not indulgent.

“What’s got her wand in a knot?” Peter asked as Dorcas returned to the other end of the Gryffindor table. Dorcas shrugged. “She wouldn’t say.” She snatched up a muffin just as James, whose face had maintained a glum quality since the previous evening, pushed hastily from the table and stormed out of the Great Hall.

“I want to be a bad girl I want to be a bad girl so there’s a musicality to my rebellion To be a bad girl is to be one of the most furious things in the modern world To be a bad girl is to be one of the most admonished things in the modern world A bad girl is she who has rid herself of the brutalities of socialization The antithesis of the bad girl is the man who self destructs”

"If I try to compose anything but sad poems, I fear it'll be akin to a widower trying to convince others that he has found happiness again by wearing a T-shirt that says HAPPINESS."

“To my mind, joy is a constitutive part of the emotional rhetoric and comportment of those against whom the present swells at an annihilating pace. With joy, we breach the haze of suffering that denies us creativity and literature. Joy is art is an ethics of resistance.”

My current Puppet History theory is that the Professor is a ghost who is using the mystery box to keep himself on this plane of existence (who set it up for him? a different question), and that at the end of the season he's going to possess Ryan so he can have a physical body again.
All the rewards this season are gonna be self-care type items because the Professor is priming that beef boy for a body swap (best case scenario?) or a full possession where they're brain roommates (worst case scenario???).
(my other, less prevalent theory is that that isn't the Professor and the real one is going to show up at the end of the season to save Ryan)
(but that theory lacks vengeance, so)
(I'm not feeling it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

There is a dead future with my name on it in the territory of my people. There isn’t much one can do but run when the future becomes roadkill. I didn’t wish to find out what it might take to incorporate roadkill into the everyday, to drain it of shock value. One would likely need to sacrifice inner life, uninvent it. In Introduction to the History of Art, which I took years ago, the instructor informed us that photography, much like portraiture, enticed many to rethink the contours of the self, also sometimes called the soul. Perhaps in leaving I didn't choose to be soulless. I chose instead to continue looking at myself.
Billy-Ray Belcourt, History of My Brief Body.
