The best thing about the annual observance of Christmas is that reminds me of the simple fact that I love God.
Over the course of a year, it’s easy to get stuck on this or that issue of theology, this or that unanswered prayer. If you’re anything like me, you pursue that issue in prayer, in Bible study, in reading, in conversation, trying to make sense of it, to make the wrinkles lay flat against your soul. You stalk the questions down and in a way, that struggle becomes a focal point of your faith.
You might even think, when you’re feeling particularly unsettled, “At least I’m taking my faith seriously by struggling with the hard questions. It would be much worse to be complacent.”
And then, every year, Advent comes, and there are Christmas carols and readings from the Prophets. There are angels and lights and stars. Jonathan Toomy finishes carving the widow’s nativity set, Linus recites from Luke, a choir performs the Hallelujah chorus, and the beauty of it pierces through the questions and the struggle. Every year, the overpowering glory of the Incarnation and all that follows is brought to the forefront of my mind and it enraptures me. Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices. I bring you good news of great joy.
Every year, Christmas reminds me that I’m not only a Christian in order to struggle with hard questions. I’m not even a Christian because I am convinced that the Bible is true. Even the demons believe in God -- I am a Christian because I love Him. His beauty can move me to tears.
Every year at Christmas, God woos me all over again.

it's so telling when someone says radical feminism is "white woman shit" and you bring up the fact that in many places such as africa or asia, the only feminism that prominently exists is radical feminism, and for those places it's just considered regular feminism that you get told those women live in places that aren't progressive enough for them to understand their actions properly. to say these women are too dumb to realize that their beliefs are "bad" simply because they don't align with western mainstream liberal feminism is rooted in xenophobia and racism, not to mention a lack of understanding of the struggles and violence women from these countries regularly go through, which can range anywhere from fgm to men rubbing and wiping their cum on the back of women's clothes in trains. but of course, as usual, there's no intelligent response to this so you just end up getting blocked or get rape wished on you.

Thinking again about Force bonds and the first years post Order 66 in which Baylan had to go in hiding.
We know, because of cases like Kanan and Ezra's, that the Force sometimes does push Force users gently into the direction of someone they're compatible with for a bond.
I can imagine Baylan right after Order 66, heartbroken, trying to survive. Along the way he sees other jedi trying to survive just like him. He doesn't approach them, not even when he sees them being hunted down because the odds wouldn't be in their favor even with an extra pair of hands helping. Baylan wants to intervene, he itches to, it's almost physically painful to walk away from it. But helping is what a jedi would do, and if he wants to survive, Baylan can't be a jedi anymore.
So he runs. From planet to planet, keeping a low profile, staying hidden, only looking out for himself. He sees the clones hunting down jedi along the way, he sees the surge of the Inquisitors. He keeps going, never staying long anywhere, never finding a reason to do it. Every time he sees someone get killed and stays idle, he feels himself edging a little closer to the darkside. The pain leaks into his saber and the pure green it used to be now dances with tendrils of crimson.
He used to be able to look at the people on each planet and see hope, he used to want to help them with their problems to ensure their peace. He learns to let go of those impulses.
Or that's what he thinks anyway.
But the day comes where he lands in a planet that seems practically devoid of life. A wasteland more than a planet, truly, even if it used to look worse decades ago. He doesn't even fully get why he's here, though he's heard the stories, like every other jedi around his age that was a padawan when he was. Another quasi-miracle performed by Kenobi and Skywalker. Is that what he's looking for here? A miracle?
What he finds instead are Inquisitors, only two of them, but enough to make him decide he should turn tail and run. He's only looking out for himself now, he thinks, but his mantra isn't enough to bury the screams in the Force. His own screams? Screams from ghosts of the past?
Or the screams of the girl the Inquisitors are chasing?
Baylan doesn't even realize he's running in that direction until he's already there, almost like a puppet whose strings have been pulled in that direction. It's instinct what's moving him, but not only that. There's something more at play.
When he steps in front of her, the green in his saber that hasn't been already consumed by the spidery cracks of bloodied red seem to shine brighter than ever, directly in the surprised eyes of the girl.
But not just a girl.
'Mine. Mine. My apprentice. My own.'
Are those the whispers of the Force or Baylan's own wishes? Is there any difference?
Once upon a time, perhaps he would have answers, but not today. The only thing he knows is that for the first time in ages, there's a feeling of contentedness in the Force.

newsies fandom just have to say did we not watch the same musical?
it had many messages but one (I'd say) was not to steal the labour of others and discredit them and hold them in disregard as if they aren't the real runners of the opperation. While this was a smaller part of the larger message, and maybe it's just my interpretation, just gotta say if you are existing in a fan space dedicated to a musical with the themes and messages in newsies. You can't steal You can't find any way to cheapen work if you cannot hold yourself to a decent moral standard can you at least say that you will stand by the morals of the musical

I’m curious, what is everyone’s take on nations being born? Do they just appear out of thin air like canon suggests? Do they birth or sire them themselves? Or are they born from humans, it being a long standing(or old depending on the time period ig) fear for parents finding out their newborn is a semi-immortal representation of their kingdom/empire/country to be?
I like all three theories depending on the narrative at play but I’m leaning towards the last one because it sounds cool now that I actually put it into words lol

Calling all genshin lore enthusiasts on tumblr can anyone tell me what Childe actually meant when he said he was going to "seize the seven stars of liyue" that one time. Like aren't the seven stars the liyue qixing? Is Childe going to kidnap tianquan of the liyue qixing lady ningguang. Is he.

Speaking of Shiina parents, do you think they'd have another kid? Like they come home one day and now Niki's a big bro
ill admit its not something ive thought about, ill say no because the thought of them having their own little family while they left niki alone depresses me shskdhsksg
it also reminds me of a character from like fire force i think where a kids parents go into debt so they make up that they’re going off to save the world and ditch their son….but then it turns out they were just in hiding and had like 3 other kids while this character thought they were off fighting evil and idolized them for it AND IDK IT JUST MAKES ME SAD? L
niki would probably laugh it off and be an amazing big brother but man it’s one of those moments where hes probably thinking oh i was a bother so that’s why they left me and had another son… :(

In regards to the list going around about having pro-choice vs pro-life parents,
I think it's a cope for pro-choice people to say they know they're wanted.
A child of pro-lifers knows they're wanted unconditionally. A child of pro-choicers knows their existence is/was conditional.
My parents wanted me regardless of:
Cost
My ability or lack thereof
My health or risks to it
My sex
My birth's impact on their jobs, lives, whatever
This fills me with confidence that my parents will choose me no matter what happens in my life. They won't decide I'm too costly or interfering with their careers or too disabled.
Can you imagine being the younger sibling of someone your mom aborted for being disabled and then becoming disabled yourself? Your mom aborted because she didn't have money back then and then goes through an economic crisis when you're young? She aborted to keep the bio-dad happy and now she has a new bf who doesn't like you? So on.
And yeah, your mom would say "it's different. I chose you", but we also know it's not "you" she chose, it was the favorable circumstances you happened to be conceived in 🤷‍♀️
