Black Fem!Yuu ahead! WC: 6,292
"Come again?"
"Oh come on, you heard me. Be my girlfriend or else these pictures get sent to the entire student body."
Yuu started hard at the octavinelle 2nd year as he held up pictures he had taken on his phone next to his face in case the girl made a quick grab for them. They were pictures of her back towards the camera with a towel wrapped around her body. The next few pictures showed the towel dropping to the floor before she disappeared from the camera's point of view. The second year wasn't ugly, short and curly autumn hair with a mass of freckles on his face. Taller than Azul but shorter than the twins. His uniform was nearly pressed and he had a golden necklace on. He would've been attractive if not for the smug look on his face. They were currently in an abandoned part of the school, classes had long since ended and everyone was either at club activities or just chilling in their dorm rooms.
Yuu pressed her lips together and uttered one word. "No."
A look of confusion washed over his face. "What?"
"You heard me, Tony."
"It's Maverick."
Yuu tilted her head and smiled. "Tony. Anyway, yeah the answer is no."
"Are you that uncaring that everyone will see you in a towel and nude?"
"Go ahead and spread the pictures, I don't care. I ain't gonna date your ass just cause you're blackmailing me." She crossed her arms. "You could get a date cause you ain't bad looking but the moment you show your true nature, you're gonna scare people off."
"Not good enough for you to say yes to, apparently." He glared at her and put the phone away.
"Yeah, no shit Sherlock. You came up to me and immediately began our conversation with a threat." She narrowed her eyes. "But I will give you one of my own. Don't kick over the beehive."
With that she turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Maverick standing there in the empty hallway. He watched her leave before gritting his teeth and beginning to walk the other way, he pulled out his phone and sent a multitude of texts to the student body.
The next day, Yuu sat between Ace and Deuce as she slowly ate her lunch with Grim stealing some of hers in the process, tuning out whatever argument the pair had gotten into. She could feel a multitude of lecherous eyes on her, she could hear whispers from behind her and she sighed.
"Something wrong, Yuu?" Jack asked, his sharp hearing having caught her sigh over the yelling.
"I'm good." She muttered and waved off the concern.
"You didn't look okay coming back to the dorm last night." Grim spoke over his mouthful of food before swallowing. "You nearly broke the punching bag."
"So something did happen." Jack's voice was now filled with concern.
"What was it?" Epel asked, having put down his apple carving to focus on the conversation.
"It mustn't be that important if she doesn't want to speak on the matter." Sebek commented.
"Oh no, it's important. Her mood has changed." Ortho added in with a concerned look of his own. "Yuu Homura-san, are you really okay?"
Ace and Deuce managed to calm down and listen in on the conversation. Yuu looked around at her friends before sighing.
"Some guy tried to blackmail me into becoming his girlfriend, I said no, so he sent the pictures around judging by the looks I'm getting."
Deuce frowned. "What pictures?"
Yuu blinked. "Did you not get sent any?"
The boys shook their heads.
"Oh shit, he didn't give it to you because he knew y'all were my friends. So to make a TLDR-"
"Hey Homura!"
The group turned to see a Heartslabyul 3rd year and his friends walk up to the table.
"What?"
"Those pictures of you are really good but ain't nothing compared to the real deal." He looked her up and down and Yuu had to grab Deuce and Ace's arms to prevent them from getting up. "Although they were a nice little preview, now how about you show us the main attraction?"
Wordlessly, she loosened her grip on Ace and Deuce as they stood up between Yuu and the 3rd year. Jack, Epel, Sebek, and Ortho had stood up too, gaining the attention of the cafeteria. Even Grim stood up on the table, embers starting to show in his mouth as he reared up for a fight.
"You don't get to say that to her." Deuce growled.
"Oh ho." The 3rd year smiled. "And what are you two? Her knights in shining armor? I thought you could handle yourself, Homura."
"Oh, I can, but you pissed off everyone at this table so... I'll let them handle it."
"You seem pretty calm about this, got a couple of guys to protect you so you don't have to do it yourself. What did you do? Give them a little taste of you and suddenly they'll follow your every word? Ha, what a slut."
Ace pushed him. "Don't call her that."
"Watch yourself, freshmen." the 3rd year growled.
"Like hell I'm going to allow you to call her that and not stand up for her."
"She's just sitting there and letting you handle it. What kinda strong woman is she when she'd rather let you stand up for her?"
Yuu stood up abruptly and placed herself infront of the 3rd year. "If you got something to say, say it to my fucking face."
"Is there a problem here?"
All heads turned to see Riddle and Trey standing nearby. Riddle's arms were crossed as he stared hard at his dormmates while Trey fixed Yuu with a concerned look. The Heartslabyul members backed away from one another as Yuu crossed her own arms and looked away.
"Don't worry about it, Riddle." Yuu bluntly said. "I was just about to leave anyway. Lost my appetite."
She left the cafeteria, ignoring the stares and whispers, and walked into the courtyard. She sat down beneath a tree and pulled her legs up to her chest, placed her head on her knees and stared off into the distance.
"Shrimpy?"
She looked up, spotting Floyd standing nearby, clearly having followed her out there.
"Hey, Floyd."
He sat down next to her. "What did that small fry say to you?"
"Don't worry about it."
He frowned and picked her up, settling her in his lap as he wrapped his arms around her. Floyd pressed his cheek against the top of her head.
"Tell me or I'll squeeze you."
"You probably already know."
"Know what?"
She fixed him with a confused stare. "The pictures?"
"What pictures?
"Did you not get sent any?"
Floyd hummed in thought. "Nah, my phone's been messing up lately."
"It is cracked beyond repair."
"What pictures were they?"
"Uh-
"Herbivore!"
Both of them turned their heads to see Leona leaning against a pillar with his arms crossed. His tail lashed to and fro as he stared at them. Floyd frowned and pulled Yuu closer to him. Leona growled and moved away from the pillar, marched his way over and snatched Yuu out of Floyd's hands.
"So Sea Lion wants to get squeezed, huh?"
"Mind your business, Leech."
"Boys please." She pressed against both of their chests as they unknowingly boxed her in between them. "I'm dying down here."
Both of them continued staring at one another until Yuu reached up and knocked their foreheads together.
"Ow!"
They both rubbed their foreheads and stared down at her.
"Now that I have your attention. Did you need something, Leona?"
"Tch. Dorm leader and vice leader meeting."
"When?"
"Now." He grabbed her hand and started walking in the direction of the mirror chamber.
"Leona! Ugh." Yuu turned back to see a pouting Floyd. "I'll talk to you later, Floyd!"
Leona let her go once they were close to the chamber. He entered wordlessly and slumped in his chair.
"What's this meeting about?" Yuu spoke as she sat in the chair next to Lilia.
"It's about the pictures being sent around the school." Riddle spoke as he stood up. "I'm sorry, Yuu, Cater came to me about the pictures he had received."
"What pictures?" Kalim questioned with a confused look on his face.
"Before this goes any further. How many of you got the pictures?"
None of the dorm leaders or vice dorm leaders spoke up, each of them sporting different levels of confusion apart from Leona, who was glaring down at the table, and Lilia, who looked at Yuu with sadness in his gaze.
"Silver told me." Lilia said. "It would seem that whoever did this avoided the dorm leaders and their vices."
"Trey and I know from Cater." Riddle added.
"Ruggie." Leona bluntly said.
"Great." She leaned back against her chair. "Wonderful."
"These pictures seem to spark anger in you, Miss Yuu." Jade spoke. "What ever could they be about?"
She glanced around the room, taking in the various faces of the people she has helped out. Yuu took a deep breath and let it out.
"They're pictures of me in a towel and in the nude when I dropped it. My back is turned towards the camera so you don't see everything but the damage is already done. The guy posted them because I wouldn't go out with him. He's an octavinelle 2nd year."
Silence greeted her before various flashes of anger and disbelief showed on their faces. Thunder boomed in the distance as a frown appeared on Malleus' face. Kalim was in disbelief while Jamil was trying to mask his anger, but parts of it were showing through. Azul and Jade's eyes were wide with surprise on their faces. Idia was silent, tablet floating there in silence. Vil had a look of disgust on his face while Rook looked taken aback with his hand over his chest. Even Crowley, who wasn't fully paying attention to the conversation, had a look of surprise on his face behind his mask.
"Yuu." Azul cleared his throat. "I can assure you that-"
She put up her hand, cutting off the octomer. "I know Azul, this isn't like you. You make deals, not this level of blackmail."
"Did you happen to catch his name?"
"Maverick."
Jade and Azul looked at each other just as Yuu's phone went off. She answered it without checking the ID.
"Hello?"
"Shrimpy, I got the pictures." Floyd's voice was serious and deep, there was no chirp of how he usually sounded. "I'm gonna squeeze the small fry who took the pictures. Now who was it?"
"... Maverick, octavinelle, 2nd year."
The phone call ended after that and Yuu pulled the phone away from her ear.
"Jade, Azul, you both need to go get Floyd before he kills Maverick."
Azul and Jade excuse themselves and all but rush out the door. Leona stands up and walks over to Yuu, he gives her a long look and pats her shoulder before leaving the room.
"You and Leona are close?" Vil asked.
Yuu shrugged. "Don't worry about it." She stood up.
"Wait." Crowley grabbed her attention. "Why couldn't you come to me with this information?"
She let out a humorless laugh. "Are you kidding me? Have you not seen your, and excuse the language, fucking track record of helping me?"
"Now, prefect-"
"Don't prefect me! You haven't done shit! The phone was probably the most useful thing you've given me. But outside of that? Nothing. You'd probably tell me this is somehow my fault!" Yuu glared at Crowley. "Hell, I don't even trust you to make the right decision about this whole thing." With that, she angrily left the room.
"Headmaster, you will fix this." Malleus said, practically demanding it, as he and Lilia stood up and exited the room.
"Come on, Kalim, it's time for us to leave." Jamil got up and left with Kalim tagging along.
"What a heinous act to befall our beloved Trickster." Rook sadly said.
"Come Rook, we're returning to the dorm and doing a sweep of everyone's phones." Vil stood gracefully and walked out of the room.
"We must bid you all adieu." Rook bowed and followed after Vil.
Idia chimed in. "I have to go too, I have work to do." The tablet began it's journey out of the room.
"Trey, we must return as well. Anyone caught with Yuu's pictures saved on their phone faces punishment and a beheading." Riddle left, leaving Trey in the room.
"Yuu is right, headmaster, you haven't done much for her. But it's never too late to change that." Trey gave a small farewell and followed after Riddle.
Yuu was beyond pissed as she angrily stormed through NRC, some students stepped back as to not get caught in her wrath. Others stopped and stared, making vague comments about her body. She paused and shot the boys the dirtiest look she could muster, sending them scrambling away. She was on her way back to Ramshackle when a shadow appeared in front of her. It danced around merrily before pointing its way towards Sam's shop. With a faint smile, she made her way over to the store and opened the door.
"Sam?"
"Little Imp!" Sam greeted her warmly. "I haven't seen you all day!"
"Yeah it's been hectic..." She sat on the counter. "So why call me over?"
"A pair of little birdies told me about your problems today." Sam leaned against the counter.
"Ace and Deuce?"
"The very duo."
"What did you hear?"
"The pictures."
"Ah."
"Little imp." Sam's tone switched to a serious one. "You could've told me or Crewel."
"I know, I thought I had it handled..."
"You're not alone anymore."
"I know it's just so hard for me to let others handle it." She looked at her hands. "I moved to Japan and all I felt was alone, like I wasn't accepted, even by my own family. But I'm here and that feeling hasn't changed."
"Except it has." Sam moved out from behind the counter. "You have friends willing to do anything for you, Little Imp. You found your family."
Yuu felt her eyes tear up and she reached over to hug Sam, who returned the hug just as the door opened and Crewel walked in.
"Pup."
"Hey, Pops." She greeted him, with tears in her eyes.
"Oh darling." He rushed over to wrap her in a hug. "He shall be dealt with."
"If not by us, then by your family." Sam added with a sinister smile.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Maverick made his way down the hallway, each student he passed talked about Yuu in some way and it brought a smirk to his face. It's what she deserves after rejecting him, so she got everything that was coming to her.
"Oi, little minnow."
He paused and turned around, seeing the deranged face of one Floyd Leech.
"What?"
"You're the one who spread those pictures of Shrimpy."
"So? Oh I get it. You don't like pictures of your plaything being shown, you want her all to yourself."
Floyd's fist connected to Maverick's face, sending him to the floor as he held his nose. Floyd stood above him and pressed the heel of his foot into his stomach.
"You don't get to say that shit about her when you don't even know her." Floyd's voice grew dark and deep. "She's her own person and you tried owning her like she was an object. So you got pissed when she rejected you cause you couldn't have her and you decided to ruin her reputation instead." He pressed his heel down harder. "But you forget, little minnow, Shrimpy's made friends with a lotta fishes and they won't take kindly to your actions."
"You ain't that different from me, Leech, you got rejected by her too."
"Nah, I know shrimpy loves me and I love shrimpy." A smile stretches across his face. "She gave me your name cause she knew I could kick your ass." He raised his fist and slammed it across Maverick's face. "She knows I can handle you cause if she fights back, she'll get in trouble. But me? I won't." Another fist slam. "And like hell I'm gonna let you run free unscathed from this."
"Fuck you, Leech!" Maverick spat out blood and snarled.
Floyd kicked him in the stomach and sent him rolling across the ground. He approached him only to have his arm grabbed.
"Let go." He already knew who it was, but still tried to pull his arm free.
"I'm afraid we need him alive, Floyd." Jade said. "He can't be punished if he's dead."
"He hurt Shrimpy."
"And he'll be dealt with. There's still several others who want their turn at him." Jade smiled, showing off his serrated teeth. "And as tempted as I am to join you, I'm afraid we must refrain from further damage."
Floyd growled but backed down, glaring hard at Maverick as he lay there returning the glare. Azul stepped out from behind Jade and walked over to him.
"I'm disappointed that someone from my dorm would stoop so low as to blackmail a good friend of mine."
"You ain't a saint, Ashengrotto. I've seen the shit you pull on others, so this was no different."
"You see, that's where you're wrong. Yuu is smarter than you take her credit for. Smart enough to reject you but still walk around the campus after that. She didn't run into anyone's arms and she certainly didn't come running back to you to proclaim that she was wrong." Azul adjusted his glasses. "Even I know when a deal isn't worth pursuing."
Maverick rolled his eyes. "Uh-huh, like you're one to talk, you got a hissy fit when she outsmarted you. And you even tried kicking her out of her home. You ain't any better than me, dorm leader."
Azul simply smiled. "Well, I was going to save you from your own fate but it would appear that you still need to have your lesson learned. Jade, Floyd, we're done here."
"Yes, sir."
"Whatever."
"Enjoy what remaining few days you have left at this school, Maverick-san."
-----------------------------------------------------------
Yuu lay in her bed in Ramshackle as she absentmindedly ran her fingers through a sleeping Grim's fur. Her phone vibrated on the table and she reached over to grab it.
"Hello."
"Herbivore."
"Leona, what a surprise."
"Come over."
"Are you sure that's wise?"
"If you're worried about them, they ain't going to say shit. They know better."
"Leona, sweetie, I really ain't in the mood to come over-"
"Yuu."
She paused as she heard the lion beastman say her name.
"I don't want you staying there, especially since someone already invaded your privacy. Who knows who else is going to pull the same thing, but this time when you're asleep or something? I want you to feel safe. Come stay with me and that includes your little furball too."
"Leona..."
"Don't make me ask again."
"Alright, I'm on my way." She ended the call and picked up Grim.
Yuu made her way out of Ramshackle, bid a good night to the ghosts, and departed for Savanaclaw. She entered the dorm to see some members chilling in the pool area. A few looked over at her but soon returned to their conversations. Sensing Leona was right, she walked up the stairs and navigated the dorm. Yuu spotted Ruggie on the stairway almost as if he was waiting for her.
"Yuu."
"Ruggie." She continued up the stairs with the hyena beastman tagging along. "You look like you want to say something."
"Leona-san already talked to everyone in the dorm, well more like threatened them if they said anything about you. Shishishi." Ruggie laughed before becoming serious. "Once I showed the pictures to Leona-san, I deleted them. I'm not going to keep something like that on my phone."
"Thanks, Ruggie, you're sweet."
"Uh-huh. I think I deserve something for telling Leona-san."
"I'll make you some donuts later."
"You're the best, Yuu!"
She shook her head as Ruggie departed to his own room once she stood in front of Leona's room. Yuu opened it with no hesitation, Leona was lounging on his bed, shirtless as his tail thumped against the bed. Yuu set Grim on the couch, placed a pillow under him, and made her way over to the dorm leader. His green eyes followed her the whole time.
She sat on the bed and Leona wordlessly patted the spot in front of him. Yuu moved over and was pulled into Leona's arms. He kissed the top of her forehead and rubbed her arm.
"I'll kill him."
"Don't, he needs to be left alive."
"Not after what he did to you."
"Don't kill him, I couldn't stand to see you jailed for murder."
"Mmh." He pressed his face into her hair. "I'll think about it, but for now, go to sleep herbivore."
She closed her eyes as she fell asleep in the warm and protective embrace of the lion. The next day saw Yuu walking down the hall, she was by herself, having been excused from classes given the incident. She paused as Ortho floated over to her.
"Yuu Homura-san, my brother would like to talk to you."
She looked around for the tablet as Ortho shook his head.
"In person."
"Wow, really?"
"Yes, follow me please."
Yuu followed him as they rounded a corner and spotted Idia with his hood up and wringing his hands as he looked around nervously.
"Idia?"
"D-Dont say I didn't do anything for you, Yuu-shi." He spoke and tightened the drawstrings on his hoodie. "Anyone who had the pictures left on their phone after the others did a sweep of them, I sent a nasty virus that deleted the pictures for good on their phones. I also scrubbed the Internet to see if any of them were posted online, they weren't, so there you go."
"Oh Idia." She paused. "Can I hug you or no?"
"Eep! N-no hugs are necessary! Just..." He pressed his fingers together. "Let's have a gaming session or something sometime."
"Alright, consider it a date. Thank you, Idia."
"You're welcome, Yuu-shi." He smiled. "Now go beat him."
"I'll wait until everyone has had their chance with him." She returned the smile.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Maverick was now understanding what Yuu meant by don't kick the beehive. First Leech beats him up, and now the pictures were gone from his phone. He rubbed his bruised cheek as he continued walking only to have the back of his shirt grabbed as he was slammed against the wall. He glared up at Leona Kingscholar, who glared down at him with hate in his green eyes.
"The hell do you want?"
"Keep talking and I'll turn you into nothing but a pile of sand." He snarled. "Herbivore isn't someone you can mess with and think you can get away with it."
"What, are you and Leech gunning for her? She'll reject you like she rejected me."
Leona smirked. "Is that what you think?"
Maverick looked at him and squinted his eyes. "You're lying."
"Am I? Oh before you go spreading that rumor..." Leona grabbed Maverick's phone and turned it into sand.
"You-!"
"Stay away from her and watch your back from now on." Leona left with a flick of his tail.
Maverick got off the wall and looked down at the sand that used to be his phone before snarling and stomping away. He made his way down the hallway just as an arrow went whizzing next to his head and embedded itself in the wall. Maverick jumps back as another on strikes where his head used to be, he backs up as another arrow embeds in the wall. He keeps backing up as arrow after arrow is fired at him until suddenly they stop. Maverick pauses and looks around, fully expecting another arrow to come at him. Another flies at him only to embed in the floor, this one had a note attached to it.
He hesitantly picks up the note and reads it.
"Watch your step."
Maverick fled before anything else could happen.
------------------------------------------------------------
The door to Crewel's class slammed open, startling everyone apart from Yuu and Crewel, who stared at the intruder. Floyd walked into the classroom, heterochromic eyes scanning the room before falling onto Yuu's face. With a smile on his face, he casually walked over and picked her up, causing Grim to scramble out of her lap and onto the desk. Floyd turned on his heel and left the classroom with the prefect in his arms.
"Leech!"
Floyd turned his head to look at Crewel, who stood with his hand on his hip, as he semi-glared at the tall boy.
"Return her before it gets dark."
"Eh, no promises." With that, he happily disappeared with her.
Yuu allowed herself to be manhandled as she was wordlessly dragged along. Floyd made tracks towards the school pool and kicked the door open. He placed Yuu down and jumped in the pool. Yuu backed up so the water wouldn't splash her and waited for the eel to resurface. She watched as his clothes floated to the surface before his head popped out of the water. He smiled and held out his clawed hand to her. Yuu pulled off her jacket, set her shoes to the side and placed her phone on top of them. She approached the water, bare feet making a soft padding noise before she stopped at the edge. They stared at each other before she set her hand in his.
He pulled her into the water and kept her close to his body as he dove under the water. Floyd spun her around, giggling all the whole whole before he began to ascend back to the surface. Floyd smiled gleefully as Yuu moved her dark hair out of her face.
"Shrimpy."
"Mmh?"
He placed his forehead to hers. "I hate it when you get all mopey, you ain't fun or interesting like that. And my Shrimpy's gotta be happy. Since swimming makes me happy, it'll make you happy. And you're happy, right?"
She smiled. "I'm happy, Floyd. Well not fully, but I'm getting there." She wrapped her arms around his neck. "And who wouldn't be happy swimming with their favorite eel?" Floyd smiled and she chuckled. "And I heard how you beat up Maverick."
"Asshole had it coming."
"I also heard that Jade wanted to join too."
"Well yeah." He adjusted his hold on Yuu. "It pissed Jade off too. You should've seen how he was that night. He talked about what mushrooms he should slip into the bastard's food." Floyd stuck out his tongue. "Mushrooms are nasty but it's fine when I'm not the one eating the weird ones."
"Jade plotting revenge, huh? Would've loved to have seen that."
Floyd picked Yuu up as he started to float on his back, placing her against his chest. "I don't wanna see anyone hurt you like that. I also squeezed someone in basketball because they were talking about your body. Crabby almost joined in too, but Sea Snake held him back." He placed his hands on her back. "Although, it looked like he was getting ready to squeeze them too."
"Really? Jamil did?"
"Uh-huh."
"Hmm, interesting." She sat up. "Honestly, I can't say that I'm surprised. It's a mutual respect."
"You and Sea Snake still ain't good?"
"Kidnapped. In scarabia. For like five days. I'm still a little miffed at that."
Floyd laughed. "It was funny to see you and Earless Seal come crashing in."
"Yeah, to you maybe." She poked his nose. "You thought it would be fun."
"Yeah, cause I got to spend more time with you."
"Wow." Yuu placed a hand over her heart. "That was so sappy."
"Eh?"
"Who are you and what have you done with my tall bastard eel?"
"Shrimpy's so mean." Floyd placed his hand over his eyes. "I'm sad, you're making me cry."
"Please. Wipe your crocodile tears."
He grinned mischievously and before Yuu could do anything, he quickly flipped himself around and sent her into the water. He started laughing as she surfaced with a scowl on her face. Yuu splashed him, causing him to stop laughing and stare at her.
"Oh, Shrimpy, bad move."
Yuu started to laugh as he sent a wave of water with his tail at her. He tackled her, sending them tumbling around in circles under the water. Floyd wrapped his tail around her, keeping her close to his body as they rolled around. They both stopped upside down and stared at each other before bursting out into laughter, or in Yuu's case, bubbles.
-------------------------------------------------------------
"Yuu!"
Yuu paused and turned, watching as an angry Maverick walked up to her. She glared at him and crossed her arms.
"What?"
"Call off your lovers."
"They ain't my lovers."
"How else do you explain why all of them came after me?"
"Newsflash, asshole, you took and posted photos of me to just about everyone. So yeah, of course you're getting the ass kicking you so promptly deserved."
"No guy would be that dedicated to some bitch unless she playing them."
"Is that what you think? That I just happen to be playing them like a fiddle against you? That I would just go up to the dorm leaders and vices and just twist my hair and act all innocent to get them to kick your ass? Nah, it ain't work like that. See, they're my friends, genuine friendships and relationships I have made with them by being myself and allowing them to also be themselves. And you know what happens when you fuck with the beehive like that?" She leaned in. "The hive comes out and decides to protect the one who needs it." She moved back. "I'm not someone to fuck with."
Maverick grabbed her arm and snarled. "Listen here-"
"Let go of her now, young man."
Both of their heads jerked back to see Crowley standing there with a stern look on his face. He walked up and pulled Maverick's hand off of Yuu. He threw Maverick's hand away and pulled her to his side.
"You've done enough damage to my daughter and your crimes against her are horrendous and numerous. To think that one of you would stoop so low as to blackmail her is unheard of."
"Ashen-"
"I am not talking about what Mr. Ashengrotto has done." Crowley interrupted him with a slam of his cane on the ground, startling both students. "We are talking about your actions specifically."
"Headmaster-"
"No excuse you try to come up with will subtract from the severity of what you caused. You sent out pictures of my daughter to the entire school, bearing the dorm and vice leaders and a select group of first years. Come to my office so I can have you expelled properly."
"Expelled!?"
"Now. Before I lose my temper." Crowley turned towards Yuu. "Get home safely, I'll come to check on you later." He hesitated for a few moments before pulling her into a hug. "I'm sorry and I'll try to do better." He let her go and began to walk away with Maverick reluctantly following him.
Yuu watched as they left, blinking owlishly at Crowley's back before slowly turning around and beginning to walk back to Ramshackle. Yuu paused on the walkway as she spotted the lights in Ramshackle turn on. She slowly walked up to the door and pushed it open. She was greeted by the scent of something baking and the sound of sizzling meat.
Yuu looked around, trying to grasp what was going on, until she reached the large lounge space. Ace and Deuce were playing cards with Cater, Epel, Jack, and Grim. Leona was lounging on the couch, tail flicking as Ruggie sat on top of it. Idia was sitting in front of the TV, him and Ortho were playing something as Floyd and Kalim watched. Vil sat in one of the nicer chairs, legs crossed as he and Rook talked.
Riddle and Azul sat at one of the tables, papers scattered between the two of them as they seemed to be in deep conversation. Silver was asleep, head on very unpleased Sebek's shoulder. Lilia smiled before continuing his talk with Malleus. She blinked, eyes flicking between the boys as she tried to piece what was going on.
"Welcome back, Miss Yuu." A voice sounded in her ear.
"Holy-!" Yuu jumped and turned around to see a smiling Jade as he held up a platter of various teas. "Jade, you almost got punched in the face."
"Oya, that would be interesting to see." He lowered the platter. "Orange hibiscus tea?"
"Thanks." She took the cup and watched as he walked into the room and set down the tea the others had ordered. "Huh..."
"Oh, Yuu, welcome back."
Yuu took a sip of her tea and turned to see Trey holding some tarts and cookies. He was smiling warmly and there was some flour on his glasses.
"Hey." The prefect reached up to wipe the flour off. "So who do I talk to about the home invasion?"
"Grim let us in." Trey lowered the platter and Yuu pulled a cookie free. "We told him what we had planned and he let us in with no problems."
"What plan?"
Trey only chuckled and walked into the room, leaving a confused Yuu in his wake. Predicting another person soon to be behind her, she pivoted on her heel to see Jamil. They stared at each other, she bit into her cookie while Jamil just blinked and cleared his throat.
"Yuu."
"Jamil."
"How are you doing?"
"Better. It's hectic but it's better."
"That's good." He went to walk past her, but she reached out to grab his sleeve.
"I heard from Floyd that you almost got into a fight on my behalf." Yuu drank some of her tea and let go of his jacket. "I know you don't join fights, but I appreciate it."
Jamil looked at her. "They were disrespecting you, I couldn't stand by and not do anything."
"You actually got into a fight for me?"
"It's not a fight if you're smart about your approach."
"Clever snake."
Jamil gave her a small smile before it disappeared. "I have a little sister, do you remember Najma?" Yuu nodded. "I just thought of what if this was her in your situation and I got angry." He looked away before his charcoal gray eyes shifted back to look at Yuu. "Mutual respect?"
"Jamil, you fought for me, I think we're friends at this point." She held out her hand. "That is if you want to be."
He looked at her hand before reaching out to grab and shake it.
"Yuu Homura, how are you?"
"Jamil Viper, I'm doing fine."
"Alright." She smiled and fully entered the room. "S'up boys?"
There were various styles of greetings as she sat next to Ace and Deuce. Both of them wrapped one arm around her, she wrapped both of her arms around them.
"My boys."
"Gross." Ace stuck out his tongue and smiled.
Deuce leaned into her embrace. "Our Yuu."
Food was eaten and drinks were consumed as Yuu went around to various groups in the room and talked with them a bit. She approached Riddle and Azul and stared down at the papers.
"Legal docs?"
"Yes." Azul adjusted his glasses. "Against Maverick-san, that is if you do take legal action."
"Maverick broke a number of rules." Riddle added as he took a sip of his tea. "Of course, as Azul stated, it is up to you if you take legal action."
"Ruin his life the way he tried to ruin mine?" Yuu took a bite out of the meat on her plate. "Get it all in a simple, cohesive, stack and I'll look at it later."
"Of course."
"We shall."
"Thank you, boys." She smiled and departed from the table.
Yuu walked over to the large amount of food on the long and large table and plucked Grim from shoving his face further into an apple pie Trey had made.
"Hench human!"
"Spill Grim, why are they here?"
"They wanted to spend the night here after what that guy Maverick did." He wiggled in her grip. "Vil even brought you curtains for the bathroom. They're thick so you can't see anything through them. Leona bought us new locks for the front door and rooms and Idia even gave us a security system. Kalim even fixed up all the rooms." Grim huffed and crossed his little arms. "I wish you pointed out that guy earlier, I owe him a few burn marks for making my hench human sad."
Yuu looked around at the named boys and smiled sweetly. She gently placed Grim back down only to pause as his tiny paws grabbed her hand. Yuu turned to look at him.
"I don't want this to happen again."
"I can't promise that it won't."
"Then you'll tell us next time if it does, right?"
"Alright, Grim." She ruffles his fur before returning to her original seat between Ace and Deuce.
The night continued and just as everyone was getting ready to retire to their rooms for the night, Yuu grabbed their attention.
"Thanks for all of this, guys, I really appreciate it." She smiled. "And this is probably the safest I've ever felt since being here. So thank you for that."
She gave each boy a hug and watched as they thanked her on return and left the main room. Soon Yuu was left in the room, she turned towards the large windows and stared off into the void of darkness, before smiling and turning off the light to retire to her own room.

I’m sorry to my mutuals who are watching me like disappear for a week or a month and then reappear reblog stuff and post stuff from fandoms you’ve probably don’t even know about (A lot shit on my plate that’s been burning me out lmao! I’m fine though just been busy dw!! It’s nothing bad I promise even though it probably sounds like smth bad XD)
but I’m gonna make this post before I literally lose my marbles
It’s about twisted wonderland and Madoka magica so strap in fellas this is gonna be hella targeted to probably me and me alone and maybe like one other person
Anyways HEAVY AND I MEAN HEAVY SPOILERS FOR BOTH FRANCHISES and A REALLY LONG RAMBLE UNDER THE CUT LMAO
So don’t click keep reading if you havent finished or started either (ESPECIALLY MADOKA MAGICA, Trust me the show and movies are so good walking into blind I’d kill a man to watch it blindly again) also warning for potentially shit grammar incoming lol
First things first-
HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN SOMEONE NOTICE THE SIMILARITY BETWEEN OVERBLOTS AND WITCHES?
Tumblr media
The similarities is the over-use of magic and negative energy polluting the energy source they use to performing these magical abilities turning them into abominations that go on a rampage and effecting the lives of those around them.
The difference though is that for witches, it’s specifically middle school girls who become witches and them becoming witches have the chances of causing world ending atrocities- and in the world of puella magi most Natural disasters are due to the fact a witch is the cause of those disasters and only incubators and other unsuspecting naive magical girl know of
Whereas in twisted wonderland *So far* we’ve only seen Teen high school boys overblot and that didn’t(Besides chapter 6 and 7) have any world ending consequences in my opinion
Says alot huh? XD
Anyways that’s a point I wanna get to another time
You know what I’d love to see? a reader-insert or just a yuu from puella magi in the world of twisted wonderland!
Now this is when I start getting real self-indulgent with this XD but I wanna see like a Homura!Yuu! :)
basically a reader-insert who takes the role of Homura Akemi, right?
And the entirety of the first anime happens and Madoka goes from a 14 year old girl who made a wish to save a cat from dying by unknowingly trading her soul to become a magical girl as an energy source to a higher being
to end up becoming an omnipotent concept that saves magical girls when their gems over pollute and are about to become witches
But instead of the Rebellion Arc happening and Homura!Yuu becoming a witch and demon and all that pizazz! let’s say they “try” to keep going and just Bans themselves from going back in time again and trying to go forward for Madokamis sake and deals with those weird wraith things in the new universe
and maybe a little cherry on top they try to learn and expand the magic abilities Yuus other magical girl friends had.
Later on we move to let’s say, 17 Year old Homura!Yuu, and guess what? You’ve been isekaid bestie have fun!
During the prologue introduction, when Homura!Yuu wakes up into the coffin grim doesn’t get a moment to even open the coffin as you just kick it open ready to transform believing this is some form of a witches labyrinth and are ready to jump into a bunch of conclusions
Now, in comes a poor unsuspecting Grimm
And the first thing Homura!Yuu does upon notice of him? The same thing Homura did to Bebe in rebellion-
just one Quick grasp onto his neck and just instantly slamming him into the nearest wall before he could even say a word. Questions being shot left and right over this potential Witch-like being or a being that seems to be similar combination of a witches Familiar+ Kyubey. A thought you do not like the sound of.
Grim is quite fairly, terrified out of his mind (I’m sorry my son) But! Lucky for him in comes the headmaster to witness this display of aggression! And school hasn’t even begun yet! The nerve!
Now this can go from here in Multiple ways, but for now, how id see it going is Crowley using his whip to tie up Homura!Yuu and just yoinks up a scared grim similar to what Mami did in rebellion
you’re only reaction to this is “Ah shit, here we go again.”
Now I can see Crowley ends up kicking Grim away still since you’ll obviously deny any association with him and just questions Crowley like there’s no tomorrow and just like in canon those questions fall on deaf ears! Lol
Crowley believes that coming to night raven college has frazzled your young hormonal teenage mind into acting so aggressive and since he’s such a kind and generous headmaster does not hold you accountable for it, isn’t he so wonderful c:
Homura!Yuu ends up quietly playing along to whatever the hell is going on to get a better and proper assessment on the situation you’ve been put in. So everything continues on as normal while the students of NRC give you a strange look until it’s finally your turn to approach the mirror.
How I’d see the mirror react to a Homura!Yuu is once you give it your name, I feel like he’d go “their soul is..Missing?..” Because as you know your soul has been turned into your soul gem and the mirror has no knowledge of this so you’re not gonna be assigned any dorm, sorry not sorry c:
This, understandable, freaks everybody out.
This is when Canon plays out a usual in the story for the prologue with the headmaster taking you to Ramshackle and you’re Re-encounter with Grim.
When you do encounter grim again you transform again and start to chase after him to continue where you left off back in the mirror chamber. This leads to Homura!Yuu discovering grim to be innocent in your arrival here and just simply… wants to be able to grow stronger.. hmm why do you feel like you’ve heard that before
Upon Grim proving his innocence and quite frankly become official scared of Homura!Yuu in comes the ghosts to scare him some more! They watch you chase him down and wanted to join in on the fun.
Mind you, you aka Homura!Yuu are still on guard and still transformed so you obviously attack the ghost with grim ending believing you attacked them for his protection! You didn’t, but if it makes up for scaring the piss outta him sure 👍 well go with that.
Now we continue with canon from here with Crowley calling you a beast tamer and hiring you as a janitor yadda yadda, but Grim ends up referring to you as his Bodyguard instead of henchman in this one! Which if Homura!Yuu was going to be honest, Grim was 1,000 percent a bigger improvement then kyubey.
I totally wanna make a side writing blog and make more stuff like this if it gathers the attention of others lol, I already have it made I just need to edit it along with my other side account where I used to post art until I took them down due to tumblrs Ai update lol
Once I’m done fixing up those two I’ll make a master post with the users of all three of my blogs and my ao3 too lol
Anyways thanks for reading my weird ass ramble :) I have so many ideas I wanna talk about for this and so many story scenarios that probably no one’s gonna be interested in XDD

kei's ghost must be feeling some type of way. she got into this pseudo-D/s relationship with her childhood friend, yuu, in which they kept enabling the other's worst traits until they eventually tried to commit suicide together, but kei was the only one who died. then yuu, unable to bear the grief of living without her beloved and afraid of how other people would see her, made a contract with kyubey to erase her own memories.
now she works as an overly cheerful hitman-slash-wannabe-hero who gallops around the city at night in a unicorn costume, killing Bad Guys(tm) with her rocket hooves and trying (unsuccessfully) to make friends with random magical girls she comes across. i would be rolling in my grave. i too would haunt nagisa and ask her to go kill yuu to put her stupid pea brain out of its misery and save me the secondhand embarrassment of knowing i used to let this girl choke me

[Twisted Wonderland x Puella Magi Madoka Magica] - What to do when you reload in the wrong universe? - [HEARTSLAYBUL] - PART 2
Tumblr media

Note: For some reason, formatting on tumblr is indeed a pain in the butt. Other than that here's an update
-----
It’s LUNCHTIME. The time when everyone would fistfight each other for the special meal of the day. Tbh NRC has nice lunches; it’s a freaking buffet, for goodness sake.
The group goes to get lunch, and things seem relatively peaceful. So of course, Grim starts a touch of chaos the moment Homura thinks it’s safe to let him go. Should’ve just kept Grim in a death grip until you got lunch, Homura.
By a touch of chaos, I mean Grim breaks someone’s (an upperclassman) carbonara spaghetti egg. And because NRC students don’t know when to pick their battles, they attempt to start a battle in the cafeteria (an awful decision, really).
Is Homura going to intervene? Am I going to make her intervene?
Yeah but not exactly in the way you’re guessing
She’s going to try, in her own way, to defuse the situation. This means as per tradition she’s going to actually make it escalate because Homura and persuasive speaking are like oil and water. Or maybe even like a grease fire and water.
Homura tries to bring up how stupid it is to, you know, fight with underclassmen over slightly damaged egg carbonara, of all things. An appeal to common sense (and a poke to their egos). Besides, weren’t they going to break the yolk anyways, since they were going to eat it? It’s a small, paltry thing to get so worked up about, in her all too blunt opinion.
This absolutely does not make the situation any better. In fact, it makes it worse, because now the seniors think they’re being condescended by a child.
Ace and Yuu think they have never seen someone so bad at defusing the situation they turn the fire up to eleven. Ace, however, is a shining example of a pot encountering a kettle and not realising it has shared traits. Perhaps this is also foreshadowing for Ace’s later unfortunate choice of language.
Due to plot convenience, these guys have about one brain cell rattling around in an abstract, collective shared mind space. They take one look at this kid and go “Freshman. Small. CAN TAKE ON IN A FIGHT.”
Actually, canon does kind of actively shove it in our faces how extraordinarily eager delinquent-type NRC students are to fight literally anyone. So maybe I am justified in making them try and fistfight a middle schooler.
They try to engage Homura in a fight. Aka they’re doing that thing where someone puffs out their chest and squares up (literally). Homura is trying to back out because:
She’s shown to be rather non-confrontational in canon.
In her experience, ignoring these people often works because they’re at least more bark than bite. (Or rather, Homura has sort of thought that by clamming herself up—metaphorically speaking—things won’t affect her as badly because before things…never really changed no matter how proactive she was (I am referring to both her past as a bullied child over something she had no control over, and her long-term experience with other volatile pubescent girls)
Homura would really like to not get punched in a cafeteria.
One of them attempts to get physical with Homura, who’s darting away as fast as possible. She’s not looking for a fight and would like to not show up to her next class looking like she just got in one.
Yuu is not having it. Deuce is not having it. Grim is not having it because while Homura scares him a little (read: a lot) he’s not gonna let these guys push around his #2 Henchman (henchwoman?). Ace is seemingly vibing in the background but actually, he high-key wants to see the guys get pummeled it’s a case of fire meets fire. Like, he’s a jerk himself but these guys were also jerks (also Homura is a little bit baby to him so it’s completely justified in his honest opinion.
Yuu is putting that swim training to good use by yoinking the offender’s arms and going “DO NOT.” Grim bites one of them. I don’t think he has magic rabies. Deuce wants to clock them but doesn’t because he’s in the public eye, so he just allows Yuu to go to town on them. Ace watches on the sidelines, noting Yuu’s great attachment to the girl with the magical equivalent of an automatic gun. He also thinks it’s hilarious that the mages are being bodied by the new non-magical student—conveniently ignoring the fact that Yuu most definitely never skipped arm, leg, and the rest of his body, day.
Homura is left wondering about the feeling one gets when people are willing to stand up for you. (She’s also left wondering if highschool would ever be as ridiculous as the one she was experiencing right now) Perhaps it’s a completely out-of-place feeling to be felt when watching someone body two people for you, but human emotions are irrational. To her, it’s a warm sort of feeling, even if she thinks she could’ve just dealt with it herself.
Mostly, I think Homura needs a few scenes to be protected, rather than constantly trying to be the strong one.
The fight is resolved, and everyone’s hungry. Yuu has an allowance for food and other necessities here because Crowley would get Mcmurdered Mcssasined in his sleep if the staff knew he basically dumped off a bunch of otherworlders into a large shack and called it a day. That and I ooc-ed him a little into someone that sees these kids/Homura and goes, ok maybe they need a little something, at least.
Just enough so that there are no additional PR problems. Or so he says to himself. Oh, he boasts about it for sure, but it sounds as phoney as always.
Elaborating on this: Crowley often boasts about his kindness/generosity when he’s…definitely not being generous. So I think when he is doing something because he actually cares, then he justifies it weirdly to himself. Of course, this is simply pure imagination, and not strictly in line with his canonically displayed personality.
I call it the “Homura sympathy effect”. When you see this emo little kid you just invite yourself in as her family/friend because it’s actually kind of depressing watching Homura if you observe carefully enough.
They finally buy lunch. Homura gets a plate of omurice. Yuu says it’s because Homura is a growing child. Homura is suddenly violently reminded that, yes, she can actually grow right now.
She does her best to not choke on her food. This means she instead stares blankly at her food as if she’s been confronted with a crisis of unimaginable proportions.
Oh god, Homura thinks, Madoka doesn’t exist. Oh god, she continues to monologue in her head, I can’t access my powers anymore.
(She can’t go back if something goes irreversibly wrong, wrong, wrong—)
The omurice, to her, tastes really good. The egg is fresh and creamy; the rice combined with the demi-glace sauce and the soft vegetables should be normal on her tongue but maybe it’s been years and years, and sometimes she’d find that food tasted like nothing at all.
(Distantly, Homura thinks that Madoka will never be able to eat something like this ever again. Distantly, Homura wonders when the taste of fresh food ever become so foreign to her.)
But I suppose any kind of actually fresh food would taste good if you’ve been sustaining yourself off determination and cup noodles.
Just the bare minimum so you don’t waste magic making up for hunger.
Yuu carefully watches her eat as he does so himself. Ace and Deuce are bickering in the background and Grim is tearing into his own food with gusto. Homura mechanically eats her meal with the precision of a surgeon and the speed of a machine. He hopes that Homura liked the meal. He wonders what Homura would normally eat, all alone by herself.
Yuu gets the feeling that Homura hasn’t really been eating well for quite some time.
And then Cater shows up.
Who is this guy? Homura has zero ideas. The rest of the group has many violent ideas. Oh, they tricked Yuu (and the others) into doing his work for him. Hm. (Down goes a couple of points for Homura’s opinion of Cater. While I’d say Homura does try her best to be not as judgemental as possible because goodness knows how much she herself has received, these are people she’s bonded with on some level, so a little bias (TM) comes into play. Even if Ace can be a jerk, and Grim's basically a bratty kid)
Ever the conversationalist, Homura’s as quiet as a church mouse. But that’s fine, since Cater’s deadlift the majority of the conversation anyways.
Cater is already evaluating the new member of the group aka Homura. He remembers Riddle complaining about certain people breaking school rules during the assembly. He is kind of surprised she's still here though, since knowing the headmaster Homura should've gone home by now. So there must be something…
She’s definitely a little…quieter, and more solemn and serious than he expected a fourteen-year-old to be. Cater definitely remembers his sisters never being like Homura. But it’s probably a personality variation thing. After all, everyone’s different, and Homura's no exception to the individuality of people in general.
Yet her eyes still unsettle him, ever so slightly. He's not sure if the freshmen and the other unsorted student(?) realize it, but Homura's eyes… There’s a hardness in them, and an emptiness that lingers. (He wonders if she was ever forced to grow up too quickly, forced to understand certain hard truths of reality too quickly.)
Although, maybe at least one of them realises it, seeing as Yuu’s practically hovering over her like an oversized mother hen. Well, it’s not really his problem to deal with anyways.
Cater laughs and smiles, acting casual and playing the perfect role of a relaxed upperclassman. He’s pretty sure it does nothing to ease their earlier grudges (which, well, fair enough—most NRC students aren’t really the forgive and forget type anyways)
And just in time for him (Cater’s one-hundred percent sure they’re all starting to get annoyed with him), Trey enters the scene, wielding his nonchalance like a well-sharpened sword. He’s polite, calm and collected—acting as a voice of reason even though he’s just slid to their table knowing full well their…colourful reputations in this school. (She had heart problems, not hearing problems)
Homura’s sorely reminded of Mami with this third-year, and his verbal slip regarding his less-than-stellar opinion of Ramshackle dorm (even if arguably justified) is one that has her also putting her opinion of him on the fence.
Cater brings up getting their numbers
The numbers are incompatible rip Cater (Homura simply didn’t bring up the fact that data roaming wouldn’t even apply in another world—he’d figure it out on his own later anyways. Or hear it from someone else. Whichever comes first.)
It’s not like isekai (aka inter-universal/inter-universal/inter-whatever) services are included in standard sims provided in Japan—no matter how prevalent the isekai genre is
But also I ask you all to imagine Cater looking at Homura’s utter desert of a contact list.
There’s like maybe three tumbleweeds and it’s:
The hospital she lived in for years on end
Her uncle(‘s secretary) — anyone who hasn’t read ANAI aka “As N Approaches Infinity” is missing out also screw Homura’s uncle in that fic he sucks
Mitakihara Middle School’s front desk
Yuu, in comparison, has like a bajillion phone numbers. All with their own little nicknames such as “Core day every day”, “Down bad for pixels”, “(Putting) The L in LGBT”, or “Mission control centre” (That actually refers to his family phone’s number)
Very awkward for Cater, and Yuu, who are either starting to get or are getting more information on how socially disconnected Homura might’ve actually been
Briefly, Cater wonders if Homura was homeschooled
Trey is having ✨flashbacks✨ to Riddle’s own upbringing and wondering if there’s any connection to the few phone numbers and an implication of a lack of friends. He puts that thought out of his mind because he’s not really in any position to pry (and we all know how well the first and last time he tried turned out)
Then Trey starts giving an intro on the dorms like a tutorial menu narrator
Of course, when the obligatory ‘Epel is as pretty as a girl” statement pops up, Ace can no longer call Grim and Deuce morons as NRC is no longer an all-boys school with the inclusion of Homura
Anyways, Lilia shows up(side down)!
Bat Gramps gives everyone a heart attack!! Homura wonders if this is how it feels to be on the other end of a time-stop
When Lilia says that Diasomnia is very hospitable and welcoming, instead of Silver and Sebek being 🗿 they are carefully inspecting (read: Silver is concerned but he looks dead serious. Sebek is less concerned and more “????they haven’t sent the tiny human back home??? Suspiscious.”)
Actually Sebek is both a little confused and a bit like “wow this new human child must be very good to still be here in a uniform”. Unfortunately for him he… looks more like he’s glaring.
Homura is 🗿 tho. She just wants to have a peaceful lunch what on earth is happening
Ofc since Homuhomu is here, canon diverts as in Lilia stays a little longer and flits around Homura like a bat from hell.
“My oh my, it’s you again. How have you been, young one?” (coming from someone who looks no older than 18)
“...I am…fine.” (be easy on her Homura’s doing her best)
Yuu just slides closer to her because who is this weirdo why is everyone in this school so weird maybe that’s what Magic highschool(™) actually does to people
To Homura, Lilia feels…odd. It’s not quite like Madoka (The Law of Cycles now), so young yet so wrapped within aeons of time; a newly born law, yet with a history beyond time. He feels more like Walpurgisnacht. There is an unspoken history behind this highschooler, and he’s just focused on her ring. Lunchtime was turning out to be terrible. Maybe it was a good thing she often skipped lunches at Mitakihara Middle School.
“Oh? Is that…?”
Homura has just given up and pretended she does not see™. If she tries to hide it she’ll draw unwanted attention. If she tries to explain she’ll give it unwanted attention and there was no guarantee her explanation would be credible enough. So she just… Did not see. If the others are interested they’ll watch anyways so it’s better to just pretend to be completely disinterested in the fact that Batman lite is staring at her literal soul—pretend it’s no biggie.
Of course, her body language has completely closed off, and now Yuu’s gently pushing away Lilia.
“Hey, maybe not so close, alright?”
“Of course, forgive me for that—and for disrupting your meal. I do hope we can converse again. ” He looks at Homura, Yuu, and Grim, before adding, “Especially the three of you.” Then he peaces out aka teleports back to his lunch
Of course, Ace still slanders Riddle at lunch like in canon. Even if Yuu frantically made abort motions. Homura just stares at the scene, already knowing how it’s probably going to pan out.
No one likes being talked about behind their back like that. She’d know a lot about how that felt like. After all, that’s what happened to her.
And wuh-oh wouldn’t you know? Riddle’s right behind Ace. Deuce puts Ace out of his misery. Yuu has his head in his hands. Homura quietly sighs and continues eating her lunch. Cater and Trey have stiffer smiles than overmixed egg-white mixtures. As Ace continues to dig his own grave—going past six feet and beyond, Homura takes the chance to observe Heartslaybul’s Housewarden.
Her first impression is that: He’s…not that much taller than her at all (Riddle is 160 cm whilst Homura is about 158 cm). But he looks incredibly prim and proper—definitely the image of what someone expects of a Dorm Leader.
Her second impression is that Riddle is rather strict. And very used to having authority, if the way Cater immediately folds to his words is any indicator of that trait. Perhaps Ace wasn’t completely wrong about his dorm leader being rather unyielding, personality-wise.
However, Ace…isn’t doing himself any favours at all, so Homura also chalks it up to Ace having zero brain-to-mouth filter.
Grim identifies him as the guy who sealed his magic, and Riddle, in turn, identifies them as the students who nearly got expelled + singles out Homura like Why are you still here??? Presumably as a student too if the magestone is any indication. To him, it breaks the rules and sets a bad example.
In fact, Riddle even starts a little speech about how rulebreakers only cause chaos, and shouldn’t be, under any circumstances, tolerated.
Aaand now Riddle’s reminding Homura of Sayaka, in a bad way.
So she goes: There is nowhere for her (and Yuu by extension) to go in Twisted Wonderland. They’re not inhabitants of this world (in case he uh, forgot that like how the story seems to often do that whenever you don’t know Disney/Japanese-inspired tradition #659 like an idiot because you come from planet Earth), therefore NRC kind of does need to bend the rules for them unless they want bad PR (She’s seen enough of what her Uncle used to get up to in the hospital through magazines, social media and the television. He flung around money and time as if there was nothing else to live for but his own hedonism.)
Riddle, of course, at this stage of the story, rejects that notion because he thinks there could be other alternatives. Bro is debating with a 14 year old.
Yuu, as nice and kind as he is, also gives his two cents. As in, “I sure hope you can get Crowley to reconsider then.” He says this with a singular (1) eyebrow raised whilst wiping Homura’s mouth.
Homura is blue-screening for a hot five minutes because wow ok that was ???? Yuu asked,  “Is anyone gonna take care of this kid?” and did not wait for a single reply.
Ace tries to get his collar removed even though he shit-talked Riddle in front of his face. Ace has balls bigger than Jupiter I guess. Not that it’s helping him or anything.
Homura also bears witness to Riddle’s ability to memorise rules. Not all 810 of them but he definitely knows his rules if he’s jumping from rule 271 to rule 339. He still reminds her of Sayaka in a bad way though. All too unyielding to others.
Hopefully for him, it won’t be to the very bitter end.
Oh, and she also learns that Trey is vice-housewarden, which… She supposed there probably was an alternative reason as to why Cater and Trey approached them—seeing the way they interacted with Heartslaybul’s Housewarden.
And judging from the loud displays of dismay from surrounding Heartslaybul students, not only is Riddle a strict and unyielding dorm leader, but he also has his dorm students under an iron-clad grip.
Trey tries to do a little damage control after low-key informing everyone of Riddle’s extreme magical prowess (strong enough to become Housewarden before the end of his first week at school). He does so by attempting to soften the blow of Riddle’s actions by basically saying: he’s not a bad guy and everything he does is because he thinks it’s better for the dorm.
Which, to be honest, Homura has heard many variations of that. Hell, she’s basically done outwardly terrible actions in the name of the greater good (for her friends). (Not like it ever worked)
She can get that.
But Riddle still did mildly get on her nerves, even if Homura would never show that in a million years or resets.
Grim, thankfully, raises the question of the ethics of Riddle collaring anyone as he pleases—although it’s less that and more him airing out his own grievances with getting collared and having his magic sealed too.
Both Yuu and Homura are quick to remind Grim that it was kind of his fault for, you know, setting the hall on fire.
Diverging from canon again, this time it’s Ace and Deuce who ask about Unique Magics and thus Riddle’s particular Unique Magic. Now that they re-explain what Riddle could do with his Unique Magic… Homura is sure she’ll have to be careful around him.
She doesn’t want to know what would happen if she gets collared.
Would there be a way to learn how to prevent it from being applied to someone?
Of course, back to the story: Riddle’s loud and clear live demonstration of “Off With Your Head” does him no favours in portraying him as someone wanting the best for his students.
And as we skip past the further dialogue on Grim’s opinion of the Unique Magic’s name (i.e. completely bonkers and terrifying), Cater’s explanation of why exactly it feels so terrible to have a collar (mostly for Yuu’s benefit), and Trey attempting to downplay it by going “As long as you follow the rules, you’ll be fine. Riddle isn’t that scary.”
We stop at Ace asking if he legitimately can’t be let into the dorm if he doesn’t get a replacement tart for the one he ate.
He can’t. In addition to that, it’s also an established rule. Homura thinks that’s kind of a stupid rule. Yuu outright says that it’s kind of a weirdly harsh rule. I mean, replacing what you unfairly took is important, but taking away your room whilst you haven’t…didn’t sound like the best rule.
Ace would like to add that it is, in fact, a really harsh rule—since he’s the one getting collared and being left without a place to sleep in (something that could’ve happened if Ramshackle wasn’t inhabited by Yuu, Homura and Grim, who tidied up some part because they are on another level of homeless)
Trey and Cater… definitely realise this, but currently at this part of Heartslaybul’s book, they don’t actually have the power to tell this to Riddle and not expect to be reprimanded or worse. So they just awkwardly laugh. Cater just tries to transition to telling Ace that Riddle usually looks forward to the tarts, and they’re hand-made by Trey—Ace just needs to replace the tart he ate with another one and things will be fine after that.
Homura…isn’t sure about that, but if it’s all about following the rules then the logic seems sound? But if not then… Ah well, she’ll see what happens then and take action from there.
A little segment of Trey hand-made the tarts??? Those really good-looking really tasty-looking tarts??? (Ace’s words)
Yeah he’s from a baker's family lmao (Just for you guys who can’t read my mind: this is Cater)
“Aren’t tarts like that extremely expensive?” That is true Deuce. “Ace, why don’t you try doing it by hand? It’ll be cheaper that way, although I’m not sure about the quality,” says Yuu. Wow Yuu, lots of confidence in Ace there.
But Yuu is correct. Ace can’t bake.
Well, perhaps Trey could help? He is the vice-housewarden. And the one who baked the tarts—so he’s well acquainted with Riddle’s tastes. That’s what Homura adds to the brewing discussion.
At that moment, Kalim and Jamil FINALLY ARRIVE ON THE SCENE… While the Heartslabyul dudes start talking about making a tart from scratch.
Kalim’s like “Oh hey Homura!!! :D” He did say he’d find her and he did!!! Kalim’s so happy to spend the rest of his lunchtime with his new friend.
Jamil helped a lot. And by a lot, I meant he went through statistical analysis inside his head that culminated into nothing because Kalim rolled a nat20 on luck and perception.
Oh who are these people? Well, Homura introduces them as “My upperclassmen: Al-Asim— (Oops nearly used Last name–First name format) Kalim Al-Asim, and Jamil Viper.” With her soft, serious tone, it sounds less like she’s introducing potential new friends she made and more like management introduced new colleagues. Having around five (5), and quite possibly fewer, friends + her entire background makes this very much a work in progress.
She’s picked up on the fact that Twisted Wonderland uses the ‘First name–Last name” format instead of ‘Last name–First name’ like Japan. Although, Homura did noticeably stumble. But hey, she caught herself in time.
Yuu confidently says, with his whole chest out (figuratively), “Izumi Yuu, nice to meet you.”
I finally thought of a last name for Yuu, so he’ll be known as “Izumi Yuu/Yuu Izumi” from now on. I figured that if I’m also going to build Yuu as a character by adding information here and there about him, then he might as well get a last name.
Ace: “Wait your name was Izumi this whole time?”
Yuu: “Oh no that’s my surname. I’m Japanese.” (Which sadly explained nothing)
Ace & Co: “???”
Yuu: “Ah. Right. Forgot about that.”
Homura: “From where we came from, it was common to introduce ourselves using our last names first, instead of our first names.”
Kalim’s actually wondering what they were discussing earlier. They were discussing Trey helping Ace bake a replacement tart for the one he ate.
Trey can bake? Jamil’s also good at that!! Jamil corrects that he’s only mediocre at pastries/baked goods like the ones Trey makes (Which are more “Western” in design)
Trey would like to see how good Jamil is at baking. His glasses glint as his fingers lightly grip one of the sides again. In fact, speaking of baking, he could help Ace with the baking. But he’ll need something in return.
No one does anything for free in NRC, after all— No it’s not cash Ace.
Trey wants chestnuts. Two hundred to three hundred of them. Boiled, shelled, and pureed. Riddle wants a chestnut tart so… Kalim thinks that sounds fun! Jamil is quick to tell Kalim that, no
Kalim, you have a meeting later Kalim you can’t go.
Maybe next time Kalim
Ace, Deuce and Grim are out though no labour for them no siree
Homura calmly sips on her tea and states that Ace doesn’t have much of a choice.
You’re right, Homura, but you could’ve said that a bit nicer lmao
Now Ace has to confront his unwanted reality aka he needs to go get two to three hundred chestnuts and prepare them for baking.
And then Cater and Trey team up to make them want to bake. The killing blow is being able to eat a tart after baking them. Hook, line, and sinker; just like that, they’re in.
Yuu’s in for it—He’ll make sure Grim doesn’t act out. Also, tart.
Homura…would like to study more ways to leave Twisted Wonderland. But then Yuu looked at her like he fully wanted her to join and ok she caved.
Mostly everyone is discussing chestnuts now. Where to get them? botanical garden? Alright. And Trey’s baking skills. And tarts. Mostly tarts.
Oh and Kalim’s plans to have Homura over for a mini-party aka eat Jamil’s food. Everyone in this group right now is also very much invited because the more the merrier!!!
But why does he want to throw a mini-party for Homura? Because one she helped him and two she’s baby. He does not say this outright but he basically implies she has a kicked wet puppy aura mixed with her serious aura and that’s no good for someone who helped him out :(
It’s a mini-party because Kalim mostly just wants to get to know potential new friends this time. He can throw a spontaneous dorm-wide party next time!
Kalim decides to walk Homura to class again, because why not? She’s a new student and Kalim likes her—which means a potential new friend in his books! (And Jamil remembered her schedule + their classes aren’t too far away so Jamil’s fine with it) This time though, Yuu, Grim, and the rest of the Heartslaybul boys (minus Riddle) decide to tag along. It’s probably more entertaining than a normal day if they follow, especially for Trey and Cater.
Jamil just wants a (Twisted Wonderland) Ibuprofen.

Tell us your yandere pairings since you know at least one of mine.
Lol, you really want to know, friend? Alright. I'll tell you. I'd like to preface this with: "Any ship can be a Yandere Ship, if you just believe in it". Hahaha. Truthfully though, I have a lot of ships where I would love to see them portrayed in the Yandere light. It's such an interesting dynamic, and it really explores the darker side of love and devotion in a way that is so...thrilling. You know I love that exploration of the darker side of humans. Horror has so much of that, lol. I really enjoy looking at what could push someone to the breaking point, what could make them snap. And do they continue in the downward spiral or do they drag themselves out of it by their fingernails? Does a victim keep being a victim, or do they turn around and become what they need to in order to survive? What does that look like? There are so many different ways to survive...which one will they choose, and why???? I absolutely love that focus on the darkest parts of people and I find it fascinating.
That being said, I'm also fine with a lot of the yandere pairings I like being portrayed in different ways.
Anyway, not to keep you waiting! Let's get into it.
Floyd Leech/Yuu(mc) from Twisted Wonderland. Let me tell you, I think Floyd would be such a fun yandere. He has the self-centered kind of attitude, and he already seems to gravitate toward his 'Shrimpy'...plus he has teeth. Sharp teeth. I like to think he would enjoy biting his "Shrimpy" and putting marks on them that scar and never disappear.
Jade Leech/Azul Ashengrotto from Twisted Wonderland. This pairing is one where I think they both are yandere for each other. I think it could be fun, seeing the ways they would try to 'outdo' each other in terms of trying to manipulate, control, and 'protect' the other. Lots of mind games in this one. Very interesting dynamic to play with.
Amaimon/Rin from Blue Exorcist. This is a ship I like experimenting with. While Bon/Rin is my favourite pairing overall (and I really love the concept of Big Brother Amaimon secretly doting on Rin), AmaiRin is so interesting. Once again, Amaimon is a self-centered demon who takes what he wants, but Rin is no pushover. I imagine a lot of what would draw Amaimon to him is Rin's determination and fight. I think Amaimon would want to see exactly how far he could push Rin before he breaks. Sadly, I do think that if Rin breaks, Amaimon is more likely to toss him aside, since he would be bored of him...but there is always that little side of me that is like "But what if...he breaks him and then he just keeps him, like some sort of treasure locked away forever?" And it makes me want to write to see what would happen to make Amaimon have that kind of change of mind.
Homura/Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica; specifically the third movie (Rebellion). Homura literally rips a piece of Madoka off to keep her with her. Like, rips off a piece of her spirit. Does it get any more yandere than that? Plus, I love the entire Madoka series, especially Homura's descent into madness.
Dabi/Shinsou from My Hero Academia. Yeah. Dabi/Shinsou rises from the depths once more. I know in my one fic I have them written more as equals, but in my heart of hearts, I am intrigued by Dabi being a yandere. I wanna know, would he internalize his father's abuse to the degree that he believes all heroes are evil? Would he consider what he's doing to Shinsou a favour, when he locks him away, and keeps him trapped? Would he be able to draw the connection between abusive 'punishments' he gives Shinsou, and the way Dabi himself has suffered? Or would he just keep falling into darkness....?
There you go, some of my favourite yandere ships! But as I said, any ship can be yandere if you believe. Yes, even the wholesome ones. Just...give them a little twist. :D

Listen, I just barely started playing Twisted-Wonderland, and holy shit am I the only one who sees the similarities with PMMM? Like, people having gems in order to use magic, and if it gets too tainted, with too much negative emotions or magic overuse, they become monsters?
The only difference is that in TW people can be turned back to normal, but witches can not.

Nagisa Rerun + Yuu
Tumblr media
Nagisa's Wish is getting a rerun, and with it we'll be getting Nagisa, Swimsuit Nagisa, and Yuu.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not sure how I feel about getting a Nagisa's Wish rerun-- does that mean we're not getting a separate / new event for Yuu's release? Also I was kind of looking forward to the promised rerun for Beachside Bonds (with Swimsuit Homura), mostly because I loved the backgrounds from it.
But ahh well. It'll be weird to see our new spiky void girl in action. I'm dying to know what's happening in her magical girl story.

Yuu & the NRC staff: Holiday edition
Fem!Yuu ahead. Tie in to Yuu & the NRC staff and Yuu & Sam
Crowley
Given that Yuu has no where to go and the winter break is coming up, Crowley has gracefully decided that his “daughter” should be able to get a feast over the holiday.
Of course he’s trying his best to find a way for Yuu to return home, the tropical wear is just because where he’s going is dreadfully hot.
When he returns, he gifts Yuu a small souvenir holiday gift.
It’s a magical book of all the scenic views in the place Crowley visited.
Yuu keeps it in the bookshelf in her room.
Crewel
At first, Crewel didn’t like the idea of Yuu being alone at NRC by herself but one depressing fact about her is that she’s used to be along and can take care of herself.
Him being a good father, He chooses for his own sanity to check in on Yuu before he also departs for the holiday break.
He wishes Yuu a “Happy Holidays” before he leaves.
Once he returns, he gifts Yuu a present.
It’s a soft and warm blue and pink pastel jacket.
Yuu wore it everyday until the weather got warmer
Vargas
A good dunckle that he is, he immediately says Yuu will be find watching the campus and for her to keep up with training.
When he returns to campus, he gives Yuu a present.
It’s a pair of her own boxing gloves and permission to use any of the boxing equipment (granted she brings someone with her incase she needs help).
Yuu often drags Jack down to help her box (and sometimes Epel joins in)
Trein
He immediately demands that someone stay with Yuu or Yuu goes with one of them so she’s not alone for the holidays
Worried Grandpa
After much convincing from Yuu that she’ll be fine, he eventually drops the subject for now.
Just like Crewel, he also wishes Yuu a “Happy Holidays” before leaving.
Upon returning, he greets Yuu and askes her how she was before handing her a gift.
It’s a book on all the known historical artifacts and history on the Great 7.
Yuu really enjoys reading it.
Sam
Sam simply pats her on the head and wishes her luck with watching over the school.
He leaves one of his shadows in the shop in case she needs anything.
Yuu used the Shadow to also talk to Sam when she was getting worn out of Grim’s company.
Sam gives her a gift before the break is up, gifting it to her through his Shadow.
A coupon for half off her entire purchase and a recipe book of Port Jubilee’s cuisine.
She makes some for Sam as thanks.

WAITTT I just realized that Malleus’ name for Yuu (“Child of man”) changes to their actual name as he becomes closer and more attached later on mimics how Homura doesn’t call Madoka by her first name until she’s on the brink of death

i know we have the whole time loop au/theory, but if there was a homura! yuu? like theyve been through the time loop a crap ton of times and they know every bad thing thats going to happen, and /theyre/ the ones resetting it, but everytime they reset it things gets worse and worse with each time loop, basically just like homura
Yuu allowing their impulsive/intrusive thought win for one day and then resetting the timeline
Also imagine yuu reciting azuls contract before he even pulls it out to make a deal.

[Twisted Wonderland x Puella Magi Madoka Magica] - What to do when you reload in the wrong universe? - [HEARTSLAYBUL] - PART 1
Tumblr media
Prev | Next
Note: I have a beginning and an end, and the middle is somewhat coming together. I think. Anyways, time for baby's first real day at NRC as a student! :D
-----
Homura’s dreams are, for a lack of a better word, terrible. She runs, chasing after a voice without a body, running faster and faster until she comes across the being that used to be called Kaname Madoka. (She encompasses everything and there’s no escape no escape always twisted when something consumes you)
Homura wakes up also feeling absolutely awful. And then she remembers what Ace said yesterday, and the expectant look Yuu gave her. The start of her day has gone from awful, to something she’d like to not think about.
She rushes over to the bathroom first, frantically tying Madoka’s ribbons back into her hair again. She does this a few times, tying and untying, just to get her thoughts into order. (It doesn’t look right in the mirror. The ribbons were meant to be on someone else. Someone that isn’t her.)
(She could never replicate that feeling of comfort with her own fingers)
Homura finds a spare NRC uniform to get changed into for the day. It’s a little loose for her, but it works. She’s not about to wear her Mitakihara middle school uniform again.
When she goes back into their shared bedroom, Yuu’s already gone. Must be downstairs.
Homura wonders to herself. Should she tell them? Well, she could just tell them about the magical girl part. The intricacies of what it entailed…didn’t need to explain. Besides, they had an established magic system in their world, so it was possible magical girls wouldn’t seem too outlandish to them. Probably.
The first thing she notices when she enters the lounge room is Ace kicking back on the sofa. The second thing she notices is the massive collar around his neck. The massive, highly familiar collar. Wasn’t that what stopped Grim during the…student ceremony?
If you’re wondering how Homura wasn’t awakened by the noise, I’m chalking it up to exhaustion of the mental and emotional kind.
Yuu is the first to notice her and goes over to fuss over Homura’s uniform and hair. Wouldn’t it be better to braid, or at least tie up all this long hair?
Homura says it’ll be fine for her, but Ace almost immediately chimes in about alchemy class and hazards, so Homura kind of gets nudged over into at least tying her hair up in a ponytail. She’s not too keen on braids yet.
Of course, the new elephant in the room is Ace’s giant collar. He then explains the entire incident in an aggrieved fashion, unsubtly prompting Homura to sympathize with him. Yuu chimes in that it was probably for a party since he ate it from a set of three tarts.
Homura’s opinion is that they’re kind of both in the wrong. Ace for not asking for permission to eat likely someone else’s food, and his dorm leader for the extreme punishment of locking away Ace’s magic for a tart being eaten. (She was pretty sure there were better punishments for that, like replacing the eaten tart)
Although, just because Ace is in trouble right now doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about the other elephant in the room: aka Homura’s advanced fighting abilities + the whole weapons summoning and costume change.
When they go out to the entry hall, Deuce is already there waiting for them. He and Ace exchange “light” conversation, mostly about Ace’s idiocy in eating the tart and ticking off their dorm leader. Homura watches them do so, and has serious deja vu in regards to another red and blue pair. She thinks they’ll probably become good friends, somehow. (That’s what had happened, when they were all together, when Sayaka was still not so consumed by her own destructive standards and ideals)
Something within her aches at the phantom familiarity. (They’re not them, and it wouldn’t be fair to Deuce and Ace to compare like so, either)
-----
Then as they walk to school, the real conversation starts. Of course, not without Grim taking the piss out of Ace before they launch the serious (TM) part of the morning.
How, and why, does Homura know how to fight? And where did that weapon summoning ability come from? Especially since her weapon/attack was ridiculously powerful
Homura mulls over possible answers in her head. Stopping time and running away is a temporary solution, so she might as well just give it to them. She never was particularly good with words though—having a terrible track record in persuasive language, most especially.
“Within my, our, world, I am a magical girl.”
Everyone just stops in their tracks to process this for a good few seconds.
Deuce and Ace zone in on “my world” first, and then move over to “magical girl”/
Yuu instantly fixates on the “magical girl” part.
Grim is puzzling over what “magical girl” means. If Homura is a part of a group, does that mean that whoever else was in that group would also be a super strong mage like Homura?
Deuce and Ace are now questioning whether they woke up in an anime. Another world??? Homura (and possibly, quite likely, Yuu) were otherworlders? Ma— Magical girls? What?
Ace makes it loud and clear he thinks Homura is joking. Deuce is actually kind of believing it, but he can’t reconcile Homura’s fighting prowess with the Sunday cartoons he saw as a kid with the cheesy attack names and flamboyant personalities onscreen. Hypothetically, if she were a magical girl, wouldn’t she be…happier?
Homura is deadly serious and states that she’s not joking. Ace is a little taken aback by that seriousness.
Yuu is finding this surprisingly easy to accept. (This is less because such a fact is easy to accept and probably more because of his own personality. After all in canon, he takes to being summoned/kidnapped to another world in a surprisingly calm manner.) But since last night, he’s been going through some older memories. Memories about the occasional strange, miraculous events and things that happen in the world and even within his own day-to-day life.
“Say that, if magical girls really exist…then… There was this time in Kazamino where I felt I was…pulled away—of some sorts—from an edge. Or, well, I’m not explaining this very well. But it felt like something had been given back to me. But the only thing I remembered about that time was this strangely dressed redhead. Well, and the apple next to me.”
Yeah it’s Kyoko. In a universe with witches, Yuu would’ve been a witch kiss victim had there not been Kyoko to bail him out. Personally, I think a lot of what Kyoko says about the whole food chain system is pretty much just words. She’s very outwardly cynical, but she does seem to try her best to not put people at risk: e.g. the chains blocking Madoka from her fight with Sayaka, and a lot of her interactions with Sayaka in the anime. (Haven’t read A Different Story yet but I’ve been told it’s quite good)
Yuu shares a memory, and Homura is 99% sure that was Kyoko.
Ace is starting to think Homura isn’t joking. If Yuu’s collaborating, then there’s probably a grain of truth in that. Although, both Deuce and Ace are starting to think there’s a discrepancy between their definition of a magical girl and Homura’s definition. Wouldn’t a magical girl be more…whimsical? Happier?
Homura decides to go on ahead and give them a quick td;lr of what entails a magical girl.
Her magic uses her soul gem (Ace thinks it’s a really odd and specific name for what’s basically a heavily decorated magestone) as a conductor. The soul gem is what allows a magical girl to use magic. A soul gem is created from a wish and the contract they create with a creature called an incubator, which calls itself Kyubey. Most magical girls contract around her age, or younger—basically usually around when puberty starts for girls. Both her costume and weapon(s) are a byproduct of the contract and thus her magic. So in exchange for any miracle, they fight creatures known as witches. Although, Homura cryptically remarks that she’s sure magical girls don’t fight witches anymore. Something else has likely replaced it.
All in all, it’s a “fair” contract. Homura remarks this in a very bitter tone.
Honestly, it’s led to more questions than answers for the rest of the group. It feels like there’s a lot that went unsaid, especially since Homura doesn’t look like she even enjoys being a magical girl. Things don’t add up: her behavior back then was more that of a hardened soldier in an action movie than a magical girl fighting against the forces of evil.
Yuu starts thinking about the mysterious deaths he’s heard occasionally on the local news. And, ruminating upon them… They were all girls. Most of which were around Homura’s age. (I mean, even without the witch thing, Madoka’s law of cycles still leaves bodies behind, which would be effectively dead without the soul gem.)
He thinks he’s getting a clearer picture of this magical girl business. But it’s not shaping out to be a pretty picture.
They walk in silence, til they nearly reach school. Grim, in an attempt to break the extremely awkward silence that he can no longer stand, starts ribbing Ace about his collar again. Deuce is internally, very glad about this, and so the canon convo about Ace requiring magic for a large number of their classes start and eventually goes towards Ace apologizing to their dorm leader so Ace can actually participate in class.
Homura decides to not go with the group to find Ace’s dorm leader to apologize and hopefully remove his collar. She needs to familiarise herself with the campus, and figure out which class she’s in. Low-key she doesn’t want to part away from them, especially Yuu since he’s a reminder of her previous universe (which she still wants to go back to because she hasn’t moved on from Madoka yet. So Homura’s been berating herself for being unable to do what she considers her duty—fighting whatever’s replaced witches—now that Madoka is a goddess). But better to know the layout of the campus now rather than later. Especially since she didn’t do it earlier the day before.
So they split ways.
-----
Homura immediately gets to work, and pretty much powerwalks her way to Crowley’s office first. She does her best to fade into the background, which is hard, since Homura has a large presence + girl in an all-boys school. So she pretty much deigns to ignore them. She grabs any required information, and also tries to see if she can get a map of the school, because it’s absolutely gigantic. She gets a map. And a whole bunch of other required school stuff because the rest of the faculty finally caught wind of the whole 14 year old in a high school who’s living in ramshackle dorm. And yeah Crowley needed to explain the whole mess about the otherworlder stuff. Crewel and Trein were side-eyeing the man with extreme judgment, because what on earth was he thinking of when he plonked them in ramshackle and called it a day. Do they even know anything about Twisted Wonderland?
Due to this when Homura, Yuu, and Grim come back to Ramshackle they find out Crowley fixed up parts of the dorm. It’s still as awful looking as ever but at least they have hot water now. And it’s a lot more livable than a “virtual death trap”.
Anyways guess which class I put her in
Yeah it’s still with the one braincell trio + Yuu. I’m not that mean. Homura can socialize and get her found family/new friends at her own pace.
So when she goes out, due to the power of plot and authorial control, she runs into Kalim again.
He’s all smiles and gladly introduces her to Jamil, who’s evaluating her since Kalim did talk about Homura saving his butt from fire (literally). Oh, Homura’s a student now? Wow that’s great! Both Kalim and Jamil are inwardly wondering if NRC suddenly became co-ed, but while Kalim waves it off, Jamil is overthinking about it. He’s not sure why they’d accept her though, no matter how many ideas he comes up with.
Kalim wants to be a good upperclassman to Homura, so he asks about her classes and so Homura shows him her schedule
Kalim can now lead her there! He does his best to make conversation with her in his own very friendly manner. Homura is actually a bit flustered (which is very well hidden behind a very good poker face), since she hasn’t been hit with such sudden and loud openness towards her in a very long time. It almost reminds her of—
Right, let’s not think about that again.
Kalim chatters about the school, getting Jamil to correct him from time to time. He also rattles on about Jamil and his reliability. Upon focusing on her ponytail, Kalim also talks about Jamil and his braids. Since they both have long hair, Jamil could probably teach her ways to make sure it’s not in the way.
It feels like a one-sided conversation, but Kalim doesn’t mind. Homura is still engaging by attentively listening anyways, so he’s not too bothered by it.
They reach Homura’s classroom!
Homura goes into the classroom, and is suddenly bowled over by a strong feeling of homesickness (Even if there really wasn’t much she looked forward to in that world). She came in, subconsciously still expecting to see the glass walls of Mitakihara Middle, with its minimalist designs. And now she sees the vastly different designs of NRC. It looks more like a stereotypical, olden-style lecture room.
Kalim & Jamil part ways with Homura. Kalim is especially eager to see her again, and promises to try and find her during lunchtime. Homura says nothing but nods in acknowledgment.
Kalim’s overt friendliness is disarming all on its own. And Homura doesn’t know how to feel, with acceptance coming in so easily.
Crewel has not arrived yet. Most students other than a scant few aren’t there yet either. Homura takes a seat and starts to look through the required texts for her classes. She has no desire to be like the her from before—ignorant and completely unequipped to deal with any sort of challenges.
-----
When Crewel arrives, he casts a glance to see one of his otherworlder students. He’s struck by how young Homura does look, and is. He makes a note to talk to both otherworlders after class since it’s possible that both of them had wildly different kinds of education in terms of content compared to Twisted Wonderland. To assume would be the height of stupidity. After all, if he wanted all of his puppies (students) to pass, Crewel needed to put the work in as well. Pups are raised with guidance, not just left to their own.
When the one braincell trio + Yuu come rushing into class, Homura notes that Ace still has his collar. And that they all smelt of paint. Discreetly checking their clothing, Homura notes there are small splashes of red of Ace and Yuu in particular. Were they all dragging into a punishment for Ace that required red paint?
So yeah after that class Crewel makes sure to talk to them and let them know they can come to him for help due to their unique circumstances.
Homura thinks he’s perfectly fine, but his mannerisms are odd. In that constantly referring to students are puppies, using a whip in class, and the constant dog training esque remarks if they either did well or poorly. Also judging from his clothing and his overall appearance though, he really liked taking care of his appearance. And red, black, and white, apparently.
Trein does not do an after-class talk, but he does recommend certain books or pages of their textbooks to study specifically to the otherworlder duo. He’s old and NRC’s students make him want to take a long nap with Lucian along with this latest incident, but he also can’t fault literal children who didn’t ask to be whisked away to an entirely new world.
Mozus Trein’s in-class narration is high-key extremely dry, but if Homura could sit through endless repeats of her class and learn how to construct a wide manner of homemade weapons, then she could sit through a dry history lecture. She does wish Professor Trein would actually add some variation to his tone though. However, Homura probably doesn’t mind not getting to hear a long rant about eggs and romantic partners this time.
PE. Coach Vargas. Homura has zero idea of what to make of that guy. Is there anything going on in his head? Was this guy the actual reigning champion of selective hearing? Thank god for magically enhanced stamina and strength, so she can keep up with Deuce. Ace is a basketballer, but wow do his arms hate him. Then again, one hundred push-ups after twenty laps around a humongous field are usually enough to make any normal person collapse. Grim and Yuu are dying, please send help. Yuu only took swimming club as an after-school activity, running and push-ups are not the same as swimming endless laps. Grim, is well, Grim. He’s basically a baby monster, he’s definitely whinging and whining about it.
Classes are simultaneously new yet old for Homura. It’s similar to Mitakihara, yet still very vastly different from it. It’s still quite interesting though, learning about new things. Sometimes the subjects coincided and meshed mostly rather well with what she already learned herself. Mostly maths, and biology. Secretly, she quite enjoys the challenge of learning something new.
Nobody comments on Homura being there. For peace of mind, everyone simply does not acknowledge that she’s a girl. NRC students may do stupid things and are somehow weirdly easy to aggravate but they also like the path of least resistance most of the time. Tbh Homura hasn’t really gone through the entirety of puberty yet so she can maybe pass off as a very feminine-looking guy.
Grim cuts class. And before Deuce and Ace can even try and extort Yuu for food via favor (catching Grim), Homura is already out and running. She’s not dealing with this, and Yuu doesn’t need to deal with this. Grim gets hauled back to Yuu.
Ace can only make a quip about the fact that, while Yuu is currently the worst dorm prefect, at least he has the world’s most efficient vice-prefect. Since Ace has pretty much said insensitive things from time to time from when they first met, Homura scathingly reminds Ace of incidents that he had caused and ended up dragging Yuu into. Deuce is very pointedly looking away when she brings up the chandelier incident. His ears are red. RIP Deuce and Ace (And also Grim, because Homura gives him a stern talking to)
Deuce inwardly wonders how he’s ever going to be an honors student if he’s already being inadvertently dressed down by a middle-schooler. Yuu is a little touched he has Homura pretty much standing up for him. He offers to buy her something for lunch later.
It’s lunchtime anyways, so they head over to the cafeteria. And that’s where we end today’s bullet point chapter, because I need to figure out if I should put Riddle in mortal danger. I hope there are not too many typos here.
