Transcend Game pt.2 -Kaiba’s Madness

Presenting my final animation project in college. Transcend Game pt.2  basically tells us how mad Kaiba went in order to get to his final duel with the pharaoh, and I wanted to animate that! One of my teachers upon telling her the idea, told me to emphasize his madness to the full, so..I tried.. I had to simplify everyone's designes cause I kept messing it up all the time because AAA details..and time...

TVPaint for sketch. Paint Tool Sai for linearts (tons of tons of frames to lineart AAAAAA) and colors. Premiere for composition. After Effects..well..for the effects!

Yami blinked and felt an eerie calm settle over him. Caught, at last?  He’d be dragged away in this grocery store while Isono watched. Or…he could fight back and then run. The manservant carried a gun in a shoulder holster, and Yami knew he could reach forward to grab it and turn around before the man behind him could even let out another shout.

It would all be caught on the grocery store cameras. But it was fine, since he was wearing the glasses…for now…

“Put. Your hands up, Atem,” the man behind him said shakily, staring at the mass of spiky hair in front of him, noticing the assassin was dressed down in a plan blue blazer and dark slacks. Looking like a salary man. Blending in with Japanese society, like the psychopath he was!

“Can I turn around to face you?” Yami asked mildly, wondering who this man was, and why he sounded so scared. “I am unarmed.” For now.

He raised his arms slowly and felt them ache. Gods… He’d just had a physical therapy session yesterday and the ice bath did not help. And now, this.

Turning around slowly to face his accuser, Yami stared at the man with stark white hair wearing a sharp, maroon blazer. A stranger. Who was he? If he was another hitman sent to kill, why hadn’t he fired yet? And the bullet might hit Isono behind him. . . .

Looking at what led to the Leon vs Yugi fight, a thought ran through my mind: Why didn’t Leon simply have someone open up the internal machinery of his duel disk and disconnect the battery? That would have shut down the virus being broadcasted to KaibaCorp and ended the tournament without any drama whatsoever. If Yugi needed to flex, he could goad Kaiba into an exhibition duel to appease the audience.

I think the simplest answer is the virus would of kept going as the Duel itself was the shutdown trigger, and stopping the Duel would of gotten rid of the shutdown mechanism.

And it's possible even if they halted it, it would of left the virus still damaging the systems like in SEVENS with its virus chewing apart the game's code.

And I have no self control so I posted this a couple hours early because I have an early bedtime and a hellish day at work coming up tomorrow. But why not start a teeny tiny bit early? This whole month is a celebration of our boys and their love! It’s going to be so much fun! Happy June!
