#Repost @yinkanaturalista ・・・ Every month last year, I was cutting off between 1/2 of an inch to 3/4 of an inch of my hair. This was really hard for me, because I’ve always been obsessed with hanging onto my thin ends, because they made my hair feel longer. Which I guess it was, but honestly, it was just so thin looking that it wasn’t even worth it. I finally decided to make the decision to stop focusing on length and start focusing on health. I wasn’t comfortable just cutting off 8 inches all at once, so I kept my plans to myself, because I didn’t want anyone pressuring me to just do it all at once. I did what was comfortable for me, which was why I decided to gradually trim instead of doing a major cut. It’s your hair journey, always do what you’re comfortable with, never let anyone pressure you into doing something you’re not ready to do yet, because I promise that you will regret not following your heart. In 2017 I still plan on focusing on thickness and health, because honestly, when you focus on those things, the length comes along with it. I’ve learned sooooo much, and so many new techniques that have allowed my hair to thicken up. I thought I knew everything there was to know about caring for my natural hair, but I’m starting to realize that I just keep learning new things everyday. If you’ve given up hope on your natural hair journey, just stop and take the time to analyze your hair and how you’ve been caring for it.
