okay so basically i love pucci we have to kill him. here is a list of my thoughts in no particular order

he makes me so ill like genuinely he is one of the most well written jojo characters ever and DEFINITELY the most well written villain. like holy shit. i think a lot about how weather said the evilest of people are those who think they are good and how that relates to pucci oh my GOD it makes me sick. pucci like many villains are a "ends justify the means" kinda guy like while he was cruel at many points i truly think he was jsut like, yes this is a moment of weakness but it wont matter because im going to fix it. i think aobut how he really thought he was going to save everyone. he was going to save perla. he was going to save dio. he was going to save himself. and thinking baout things from his side, like, oh my god. dio was his only friend. we the audience know that dio groomed him (not necessarily sexually but still grooming) and even though dio did seem to grow to truly care for pucci, he didnt care enough to not use him for his plan to restart the world -- but PUCCI didnt know that. im sure he had inklings and feelings like he's not NAIVE, im sure he KNEW dio was using him at SOME point, but it wouldnt change the fact dio still eventually saw him and was his friend either way. it wouldnt change the fact that he would do this one thing for his only friend, even if his only friend BECAME his friend in the first place just to make him fulfill this task. god dio and pucci's relationship is so insane i hate hate hate that people boil it down to just shipping LIKE THERE WAS RESENTMENT THERE WAS ANGER THERE WAS SO MUCH LOVE AND HALF OF IT WAS LOVE FOR WHAT THE OTHER COULD DO FOR HIM INSTEAD OF JUST HIM HIMSELF . LIKE FUCK'S SAKE im sick of ppl putting a romantic spin on everything and YES this is half me being aromatnic but also COME ON. and that's not even getting into the fact dio and pucci's relationship is supposed to parallel jolyne and jotaro's/jolyne and jonathan's. but anyway

ok. ok. i have only seen DB/DBZ/DBS and have not reached GT yet (working on it ......) so mmy understanding of adult goten is from the perspective of somebody who has watched broly second coming on loop and replays the first episode of super like a healthy individual & has seen like 3 screencaps of gt goten. also that one goten side mission from Kakarot for the Play Station Five(5). anywayz. about the threeway you propose in your post. now assuming we live in a beautiful world where akira toriyama is introduced to the concept of polyamory and 1) thinks its banging and 2) accepts homosexuality into his heart of hearts (aka we are no longer operating by feasible canon standards) i do think it is PLAUSIBLE. ebcause. here is da thing. in PREMISE 7 you state Trunks is competition BUT (and again.......maybe GT would contradict this....all i know is my beautiful world where trunks pisses on broly) i think he only views trunks in competition for like...normie things. in Kakarot there's this exchange between the two of them, where Trunks (speaking for the both of them) says smth like, "we're not RIVALS that's LAME. We like competing but we're FRIENDS." (<- he then goes on to dunk on his father because "you're friends with goten's dad, right?? you're not RIVALS are you? that's TOTALLY uncool... you lamer.") and while i acknowledge this is New Canon (DBS-era where trunks's "13yr old on xbox live saying slurs" personality got nerfed a tiny bit) i think it says a lot about how they view competition/rivalry between them. It's like, all fun and games and a drive to be better but it's nothing they're losing sleep over unlike whatever da faq vegeta has going on with goku. this is all to say i don't think goten sees trunks as romantic competition. if anything he probably trusts trunks wouldnt like cheat on his girlfriend or whatever. now idk if goten would have hangups abt a 3-way being bizarre to him or smth but knowing how cra-zay and adventurous that little man is i assume it's something he would TRY at least, like, posing it as a joke like "haha could u imagine..." but its obvious he's like, trying to present it as a valid concept to trunks. the unspoken conclusion of "it could be kinda epic doe" is loud and clear 2 trunks. i think the better question is would palace be cool with this. would she do this. it's trunks briefs of capsule corp so like, if you were a worser person you could be like, hell yeah im fuckin that man if my bf gives me the green light i want tobe able to say that i know mr. trunks briefs biblically. but at the same time thats like, mean. i dont know much abt her but she seems like a sweet gal i think she wouldnt do something just for #bragging rights u kno....but u would know more on that methinks.

Trunks said that he wanted to be friendas eith Goten for FOREVER .. He didnt stop at merely commenting on the present, but he had the confidence to project his feelings into the future: He's friends with Goten, he wants to continue being friends with Goten, and he wants it to be for forever.

I mean piece and signerture done right there. Signed sealed & delivered. Closed case. I'm willing to accept this as a total refutation for Premise 7 and what i was getting at in that post in general. Trunks looks at Goten with genuine appreciation when he said that they were friends

Ohhhgm my god and this video is so adorable .. I've said this before but as much as i love madness I also LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE So Much how on dragon ball everyone is depicted as truly happy healthy open free and LOVING EACH OTHER. Trunks and Goten just wanted to spend time with their fathers whom they love so much. They both assumed that their fathers loved each other as much as goten and trunks themselves love each other. They thought that the world was just that beautiful and lively. Also Gotenks in this video is 101% perfect and he is exactly swag and epic as i hoped he would be and it's really remarkable stuff. It is true that this is, as you put it: "New Canon (DBS-era where trunks's '13yr old on xbox live saying slurs' personality got nerfed a tiny bit)." But I dont honestly trhink that that's THAT relevant becasue what we mostly saw of Goten & Trunks in DBZ was friendly fun anyway, just with a bit of teeth, and then in DBGT Trunks is totallllyyyy chilled tf OUT and we don't see any acidity from him ever I think. So the fact that he's not saying slurs in DBS is I think okay. (I am actually greatly intrigued by his personality in DBS becasue I believe that it offers a great transition into the eventual DBGT and becasue it offers A LOT of insight on his Nature and his Nurture. Now is not the time.)

OK back to the aspect of the post that is about the throuple with Palace. This here ask offers the perspective that if Trunks sort of entered the relationship, then Goten wouldn't take it as striaght up competeition, but instead it would be sort of like "Ok well you know what You're a good man. I trust you'll treat her well." And in fact perhaps Goten & Trunks AREN'T Sick to Bastard Death ofn each other by now and ARE in fcat FRIENDS FOREVER like Trunks wishes for in this Kakarot for the ps5 footage.

This ask also offers the third propositon that Goten & Trunks may consider the prospect of a threeway involving them and one nice woman to be "kinda epic." No comments on that one

Palace definitely is not a bragging-rights kind of person so her motivations would literally be becasue she loves love and she loves Goten and she loves that he has a best friend and that they love each other and maybe she thinks that trunks is cute becasue hes so polite around her. Or maybe she thinks he looks sad and she wants to do something about it. But she has also been shown to enjoy badboys against her better judgement. Just remembered that. actually we are both SO lucky because tumblr wouldnt let me send the ask initially—I had to copy an earlier version and try sending it to myself several times to figure out what the error was. so i DO have an earlier copy of the ask—it was less clean so I'll add more fun colors to make it less of a pain to read. ANYWAY, IT IS AS FOLLOWS:

"THE GEORGE EPISODE...sorry this is gonna be a long ask, I hope you don't mind! I love that ep for personal reasons that have almost nothing to do w/ the episode itself, which is, I agree, aside from the social message of "don't be a bigot" (AND TRAPPERS SINGINGGGG) kind of mid!

but. i was re-watching it recently. and the scene where George comes out and then Father Mulcahy interrupts w/ the football and Hawkeye does a really bad throw, kind of caught my attention oddly.

I know the main purpose of the interaction is to wrap up the scene nicely, give Hawkeye a way to bounce off of George asking Hawk not to tell anybody abt him being A Homosexual. but it also directly connects Hawkeyes Comedic Sports Failure to George's Homosexuality and w/ the way that lack of aptitude in sports is considered a Gay Thing especially back in the day, the little voice in my head that loves looking for meaning in stories said: "This is a purposeful connection the writers are drawing between Hawkeye and George"

and then the rest of my brain kicked up and kicked in and kicked down the door and said "take a breather, you transexual bisexual. not everything is about intentional queercoding." and i was like yeah. fine. whatever. fine. alright.

and while I do kinda believe bisexual reading of Hawkeye is inevitable to any viewer who has ever given thoughtful consideration to how one man might want to touch another man, calling it coding in this scene might be a pretty dramatic stretch. i can't argue with that. sure.

BUT. i was working on a sewing project later and needed something light and easy to listen to, and i poked at the MASHMatters podcast and found they had an interview with one of the writers of that very episode—Gary Markowitz. [ep 71 if u want it]

AND. i have three interesting things to tell u i learned from that.

1) ORIGINALLY the ending of the episode was not going to be "Frank was hiding something embarrassing in HIS past TOO! He paid for his degree!" (Markowitz did not like this ending because he was like "are we really going to say that being gay is something in your past you Should be ashamed of?") but instead. Frank was going to get drunk and admit that there was an older family friend with a tattoo he really. really admired when he was younger. Admired the guy's muscles. Maybe. Sure, maybe he wanted to be him, but maybe...maybe he wanted...Something Else.

Obviously...I mean. I don't think I'd consider that a Diversity Win.

Honestly? In this one weird case maybe I agree with the censors that blackmailing Frank about paying for the answers to the test was kind of better. Esp with the idea that "the most homophobic people are the homosexuals themselves" being a particularly shitty trope.

and I think the explicit confirmation that Frank himself might have some homosexual tendencies might have overshadowed the single-ep-character, George, and come right around to being a "well its ok to bully the annoying homosexuals" message. which would already be a horrible message in an era where I think homosexuality itself was cause for disgust and irritation for many people. but. well. anyway.

2) MARKOWITZ MENTIONED THE RADAR AND HENRY BIT.

Markowitz said they intentionally included the monthly checkup bit to illustrate how, in a situation such as this, men are often very intimate with each other, putting themselves in vulnerable situations with other men, touching other men, already.

Like, sure the rest of the episode maybe you (a homophobic 1970s audience) are freaking out about a man wants to touch other men intimately, but you're totally okay and unbothered about this corporal getting so up in his C.O.'s business that he can see a little nativity scene in his ear?

He said they wanted to make it clear that homophobia is a silly stance to take when men are touching men for all sorts of reasons all the time in a setting like the military. Like. It is just naturally a kind of homosocial homosexual homoplatonic environment just on account of how homogenous the gender variance of any given environment is.

and I was like. whoa. hey. that's a lot more thought than I gave the writers credit for, and that's on me! I really like that scene even more now!

3) Apparently, when Markowitz and his writing partner (John W. Regier) submitted this (their first script to get accepted) idea to the usual MASH writers nobody was Thrilled about it. Like, it was Fine but they were in a friendly competition with All In The Family to tackle social issues, and so they were like "FINEEEEE i GUESSSS we'll talk about THE GAY ISSUE. since All In The Family Hasn't yet. WHATEVER."

which doesn't surprise me in the least given the show itself as well as the time it was made in, but does disappoint me a little.

ANYWAY!!!!!!!

So I took all this stuff and brought it with me when I started thinking about all the other little scenes in there—like when George pauses when Frank mentions The Pink Scourge before Frank clarifies that he means communists.

OR when Henry gets his nails done by the nurse he's sweet on—and asks with an easy familiarity for the buffing treatment. How she calls his hands beautiful, and he says he got them from his mother.

OR OR OR. the one where Hawkeye is painting that nurse's toes, and she says "wow you're really good at this" and then Radar comes over and ALSO says hawkeye is really good at painting toenails. and that scene is RIGHT before he throws the football really badly. and how THAT is followed by Mulcahy getting tackled by a bunch of other soldiers, so it's just a writhing mass of olive drab, men's bodies against men's bodies against men's bodies.

Perhaps it wasn't just to wrap up the scene, but also used just very very subtly reinforce that in some ways, Hawkeye is less of the Red Blooded American Icon of Masculinity than this Gay Soldier, who is begging to be sent back to the front lines to serve his country, despite being assaulted by his own unit—and then. maybe. Maybe the American Ideal Of Masculinity, commonly tied to football, to being in the military, etc, is itself...a little...Hm. You Know. Like when Radar opens the door to the shower while Hawk + Trap are in there, and a crowd outside starts clapping. I think that transexual bisexual impulse is getting the best of me maybe. anyway.

I do think this is what is textually happening in several episodes of MASH, including in George. @marley-manson articulated it very well in a post that i am unable to locate at this time, where she stated that Hawkeye's "hmm" moments are about gender expression. moments that hold him up as something other than "Red Blooded American Icon of Masculinity."

there's lots of examples of this from early MASH but my favourite is this one from Yankee Doodle Doctor. runner up: Frank at some point @ HawkTrap "you-! you... guys!" HawkTrap: "we are notttt~"

totally valid to see that as lending itself well to a trans Hawkeye headcanon (although Trapper is the one following when they dance, not Hawkeye - and big lug that he is, Trapper also manages to subvert trad masculinity in his own masc way... ), but I really like it as is too - there's more than one way to be a man. you don't have to buy what traditional masculinity is selling you. you can be a lover, rather than a fighter.

quest was really good (albeit very extremely confusing and had some major bugs, ex: i have my melee bound to scroll up and literally could not finish the last cutscene because they made it a hold and not a spam for some reason) however i Do Wish that it was way way more obvious that albrecht and loid were a thing, whether they were actually lovers or just very interested in each other, cause i knwo damn well theres gonna be people that try to explain it away like they do with Ticker

Ive been thinkin about Herbert a lot because I like him even though hes in like 1 and 1/2 scenes in total and most of his characterization comes from my own headcanons and godddddd his dynamic with his dad is so fucking weird and Im so mad theyre just never going to elaborate on it. I mean unless they wanted to do some Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies type shit but I dont think thats happening anytime soon

And to be clear, im talking about the musical bc in the movie its just like, Herbert has his little gay moment with Alfred when he kinda corners him against the wall when they first get to the castle and then he has his big gay moment with Alfred with the flirting advice book, and then later the count is talking to Abronsius on the roof like "we'll have eternity to spend together, just like little Alfred and my son >:)" and its like, okay if things had gone according to their plan we wouldve had regular yaoi (that is to say two twinks) and old man yaoi (that is to say two old men) happening parallel to each other in this fucked up castle, and also Sarah wouldve been around and Im sure she wouldve been in a really weird position between Alfred and Count Krolock, although tbh I feel like she wouldnt have stuck around for too long if she didnt have to, like her whole thing was she wanted to be free from her shitty dad who never let her go outside I think she wouldve started traveling the world at the first opportunity but whatever

But in the musical its like, Herbert and Krolock are both clearly interested in Alfred and theyre both clearly aware of each others interest where Krolock is like "hey boy Im interested in, go be boyfriends with my son youre exactly his type" and Herbert is like "oh, father is so begeistert by you" like oh yeah? Whats he begeistert by? his submissive breedableness? And once again, Sarah is also there as part of this weird love formation, except this time its like a little more requited on all sides because Krolock is interested in both Alfred and Sarah and Sarah is interested in both Krolock and Alfred and Alfred is interested in Sarah and hes like scared of Krolock bc hes a vampire but you can easily interpret that as him being scared of his own homosexuality if you want, really Herberts the only odd one out in that dynamic by virtue of being the only non-bisexual in that castle

Before I continue with the actual point of this post, I just wanted to say that it just occured to me that that mess is basically the only non-monogamous portrayal of vampires I can think of in fiction, which tells me that I either need to seek out better vampire media or that our society is so hetero- and amatonormative and obsessed with the idea of Only One True Love Forever to the detriment of actually telling interesting stories about immortals who would naturally have very different opinions on love, which iiiiiiiis a lil bit frustrating ngl

okay so . originally he was just a Regular Guy (in most aus). then over time in the web of the multiverse a few of the universes had gotten tangled together and timekeeper had to fix that ! exactly 222 different earl greys from different universes walked into the grandmaster hotel at the same time aaaand... all of those earl greys, all of those hotels, are mashed into one. the hotel is in another dimension now, one outside of any universe, and is practically a gateway to those 222 universes included in the incident

the hotel just looks like . Madness. hence the name hotel of madness. nothing makes sense, objects are floating in mid air, stairs are invisible and lead to nowhere, the hotel room doors are fucked up and now lead to the different universes instead of hotel rooms

and earl grey ? hes a weird mixture of all the people he used to be. his body has been warped to the point where he hardly looks the same anymore. he glitches and flickers into his other appearances but if youd like to see a comparison

hes silly and quirky now . hes got memories from two hundred different lives and hes also forgotten a lot of things/gets confused with his memories. Its funny hes so confused by his gender because he has the same thoughts and feelings from all those universes like girl he cant tell if hes homosexual or homophobic!!! he hates all pronouns but also loves using all of them but also he prefers she/her but also he uses neos and you get the point . Conflicted. he just uses he/him because he does not know what to do about it. hes not aroace but also he is yeah its basically the thing but He doesnt really do romantic relationships because theyre too confusing to him

Review: the coloring of this movie was so fucking ugly and yet so fucking good at the same time. I think you bring up a lot of valid points. I can’t really say what my account would be like if I was straight. I’m guessing yeah, I’d probably be posting lots of photos of straight couples. I know I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with being in love and being in a relationship, and for me at least I guess that’s ultimately what I see my sexuality as. Line that leads me to connect with people and form future relationships. So since I’m a lesbian I have that fixation on other women. If I was straight I guess I would feel the same way about men. I don’t know though because I’ve never been in that situation.

And I’m genuinely sorry if what I said has made people believe I think homosexuality is icky or the worst thing to happen to a person. That’s fully not my intent and I’m sorry my words sound that way.

I feel bad I don’t really know what else to say other then I’m sorry, but I feel like that might sound a bit cheap or insincere. But I am sorry. Genuinely. I definitely feel for you. Like... I do think there's a point in that "kissing isn't a pre-req for dating." You don't have to be kissing all the time or think about it right away to be attracted to someone and date them.

But there's also something to be said about how heteronormativity can affect gay men just as much as lesbians. Its not hard to convince yourself you like someone when you don't. And it's not hard to think you like doing something when you don't. Especially when the feeling is more "neutral" then actual dislike.

I used to think maybe I liked guys cuz they weren't repulsive or anything. But I think of dating women and it's a VERY different reaction and desire. And while it's normal for bisexuals to have preferences sometimes between genders, that drastic of a difference could very well mean something else.

Anyone can a date a girl. Many closet LGBT folks have and still do end up in relationships with people they aren't actually attracted to. And they can still live ok lives because 1. The alternative for them is worse, and 2. Relationships don't determine happiness. But imagine how much happier they'd be in a relationship with someone they actually like. It makes a HUGE difference.

Especially if he can't just call himself bisexual and has to use the split attraction model. It really does just point to internalized homophobia, biphobia, and heteronormativity.

Unfortunately, there isn't much in advice I am give you. Those kinda situations are just... Draining. You can't do much if he won't listen. And changing someone's mind can take YEARS. It's probably best if for right now, you just don't talk about it with him. Hopefully he'll realize shit in his own time. But you can't force it. If you want you can talk about different things that hurt your feelings. (Ex: my sister showing genuine hurt when she was told she just cares about dicks not personality in regards to pansexuality. Or my not yet gf showing anger at biphobic comments made by an ex pansexual friend). Those kinda things can help get them to start thinking of things, especially when you don't directly insult them. But don't treat it like your job or mission. It's definitely something that comes last to anything else. Focus on actually being happy and enjoying your friendships. Understanding and realizations will come naturally from that.

Either way tho, I've met people exactly like that. And it's definitely beyond annoying. And it's basically impossible to walk away without feeling a significant amount of anger.
