93. Land of 1000 Dances by Wilson Pickett debuted Jul 66 and peaked at number six, scoring 816 points.
Wilson was born in Prattville, Alabama, and had 38 chart entries 1963-73. Two made the top ten.
Wilson's was the fourth of six versions of the song. Cannibal and The Headhunters' 1965 version was the only other to make the top 40, peaking at 30. Chris Kenner was the first to chart with it in 1963, and others are by Thee Midnighters, Electric Indian, and The J Geils Band in 1983.
