" God-damn man child, you act like a kid even though you stand six foot two."

You stood beside Annabeth as she rattled off about the Lincoln Museum. Of course, you loved her like a sister and you loved that your cousin, Hudson, Son of Hades and Persephone, God of Dreams, was the man for her even though he would annoyingly talk on and on about ‘her bronze skin, curly golden-brown hair, and dark amber eyes’, but you couldn't stop yourself from dozing off.

“ [Name],” You tilted your head and stared into the eyes of Rachel Dare, the Oracle and the girl who’s had a crush on Percy Jackson for years. See, you used to have a huge crush on him too but when you saw Rachel close to him you became insecure and resisted the urge to be close to him.

She was popular, respected as the Oracle, and…pretty.

All you were was smart. You were only known because your best friend is Annabeth and your cousin is basically married to her, and you would refrain from calling yourself pretty. It was hard acknowledging that fact but you liked being honest unlike the people close to you.

They all said he liked you, but you were hesitant even with the signs.

“ Flower, you want to sit by the lakeside for a picnic during lunch?” Percy whispered, his blinding smile lighting your questioning gaze. You shrugged though, trying to nod because you wanted to be subtle about the care you held for him…But he wanted the love that you gave to everyone else...

“Percy called for you and Annabeth to come to his cabin…He’s been looking for you for ages.” Rachel muttered, gazing at your face uninterestedly. Annabeth nodded before offering you a hand to get up.

You were terrified, ‘Did he find out I liked him?’ Is what you wondered as you stepped toward the still, cold, marble, smelling of the sea.

“ [Name!]” His grin relaxed you as he pulled you to his side on the blue couch.

You were surrounded by so many socially powerful people. More than you will ever be.

“ You know, sometimes I’m jealous of you all…” You whispered into his chest.

“Why?”

“Everyone understands you, worships the ground you walk on…"

"I wish I could have the same…”

You and Jason have been friends for years, close enough to be called siblings.

You've jokingly called each other twins even if the other looks like their opposite in a sci-fi movie.

It was after Reyna confided in you about her obligation and puppy love in him that you sunk into the whirlpool that is Jason Grace.

It was after Piper came along when you distanced yourself from your best friend.

"Hey, [Name]! Wanna hang out with us?" Jason yelled, beckoning you over to a comfy spot crowded by Nico, Leo, Annabeth, Percy, Hazel, and Frank. Spotting Piper cuddling into Jason was what made you step back into your cabin.

" No, not really..."

"If I had only felt what it feels to be yours, i would have known what I had been living for all along."

It had been months since the last time you spent time with him when Jason cried into your shoulder because Piper broke up with him.

"I don't understand! What could I have done?"

You comforted him for hours before he told you what Piper said to him.

"What did she say, Jason?"

"That I looked at you like you were my sun..." He lifted his head from your lap to look at you through nervous eyes. "Do you...Do you think I do?"

To be honest, the only reason he had entertained Reyna's advances was because you acted like you didn't like him back and if anything, the best thing for him to do was to move on.

Jason sat back on his knees before sighing. "You can reject me, you know. It's alright."

Your eyes widened before you snaked your arms around his back. "I like you too, Jason. I would never reject you."

His sigh of relief brightened the mood as he brought you in for a light kiss.
