Abstracting all of the colonialism, and sexism, and racism, and conservative gender roles, and massive capitalist inequality, I've always been weirdly drawn to Victorian England. Upon analysis, I think that about 90% of this is because I think that steam locomotives are cool, and the other 10% is because I like Sherlock Holmes.
