"I want," the man said to the art robot, and then described an image in some detail. "Certainly," said the art robot. A printout came out of its chest. "Thank y- Hey! What's this?" "A list of artists who make images of the kind you describe, and who are accepting commissions."

its funny whenever i explain visual snow syndrome to people irl they always ask "so youre seeing it right now?" like yes, i said i always see it so of course im seeing it right now. they also usually ask "how do i look with it?" like how you always look to me lmao, i cant not have visual snow so i cant tell you how you look with it vs without it, i have a filter of moving specs over my vision at all times, its all i know, you dont look "weird" unless you want to clasify literally everything i see as weird.

Other people with visual snow, do you have a spot in your vision where the snow is heavier?

Finding out things you do are not normal and are, in fact, a symptom for a disorder you have is so wild. Apparently its NOT normal to have a ball of light burned into your vision for the next 10 minutes after glancing at a lamp. Who knew
Edit: AFTER IMAGES ARE NORMAL. This post is me talking about the length of time it occurs. An after image after glancing at a lamp is normal. But seeing it for 10 minutes is not.

The villagers watched a mighty paladin battle the demon under the full moon. At long last, the demon was vanquished.
"Did you see an old lady?" the villagers called. "It took her!"
The paladin looked at the moon setting, then shuddered and seemed to shrink. The armour turned to mist, the sword became a cane.
"I'm here."
"You're a… werepaladin? Is that a- How?"
"In my youth, I was bitten by a paladin." The old woman smiled fondly. "Many times."

Visual snow is a neurological disorder characterized by a continuous visual disturbance that occupies the entire visual field and is described as tiny flickering dots that resemble the noise of a detuned analogue television.
The disturbances are seen whether the person's eyes are open or closed and stay constant over time.
In severe cases visual snow can cause impaired vision and even legal blindness.
Researchers think the syndrome may be caused by an abnormality in part of the brain. In the past, people with this syndrome were often misdiagnosed with migraines or other disorders.
Visual snow, or visual static, is an uncommon neurological condition that affects around 2% of the population.
Visual snow can be made worse by environmental factors. The most common environmental factors were dim or low-light conditions, harsh artificial light, bright sunlight, and darkness.
Visual snow is a form of visual hallucination that is characterized by the perception of small, bilateral, simultaneous, diffuse, mobile, asynchronous dots usually throughout the entire visual field.
It frequently occurs in patients with concussion/mild traumatic brain injury and other brain-related abnormalities.
Pixelated vision or visual snow has also been associated with schizophrenia.
Initial functional brain imaging research suggests visual snow is a brain disorder. There is no established treatment for visual snow.

An underrated aspect of visual snow is when you stop tuning things out you get gaslight by your own brain.
"Is the static getting worse?"
"Has the ringing in my ear gotten louder?"
"Has my vision ghosting always been that bad and I just tuned it out?"
"Is my vision getting worse or am I just hyperfocusing?"
I love this condition, good shit brain 10/10 neurological system.
