"'think of the children' always gets support unless what you're thinking about is leaving them with a better world. Somehow, we never need to think of the children when we're talking about climate change, or preventing pandemic diseases, or anything else that costs money. But here we are." - Unbreakable by Mira Grant.

Unbreakable by Mira Grant (aka Seanan McGuire) is a book about magical protectors and cosmic horrors.
If you like the magical girl genre you will love this book.
If you liked Madoka you will love this book. But also, if you didn't, you will love this book.
If you want a more nuanced and dark take on the magical girl genre (while still keeping the sparks and rainbows) that doesn't introduce mature and gritty themes just for the sake of subverting expectations, because it was written by someone that understands how to embrace and successfully marry the magical girl genre and the cosmic horror genre, while at the same time packaging it all with a realistic portrayal of how our world would react to/deal with magical protectors, you will love this book.
And if you have already read this book please come talk to me about it.

seated to watch Unbreakable (2000) bc it was on coldcrashpictures's top 10 superhero films redux list and thought i might as well watch it (though, given my usual tolerance for spoilers, i skipped past him talking about it after he said the movie title to avoid spoilers. also this will be technically fourth Shyamalan movie i have knowingly watched besides The Sixth Sense and The ATLA movie, i have seen After Earth like. twice. last watch was in like 2016ish. but never knew he made it. also saw like bits of Split when it was airing on TV like almost a decade ago but never saw the whole thing) ANYWAY point is, i'm only 4:38 in and he's got my attention but the shot of Bruce Willis seeing her tattoo and then the camera panning down made me think it was gonna pan down to something much weirder than his wedding ring ajdhsdhshshahs

The new Ever After High' Songs are FAKE
On January 4, 2024, a new song called "Can't Get Me Down" appeared on Spotify and YouTube provided by... Ever After High?! If the song flew under my radar the first days, I saw a few posts here on Tumblr and immediately thought: "It's a fanmade, obviously!".
Then I started seeing more and more posts about this song and some people were talking about Ever After High coming back even on YouTube. You know my opinion on this subject (Spoiler: NOT A CHANCE!) so I listened the song and...
Yes, this is a nice song to listen to.
BUT
The lyrics are very generic
No mention of Ever After High or fairy tale theme word in the lyrics
The musical genre doesn't match the style of EAH soundtrack
The quality was mediocre (Feels like it was generated by an AI)
Why use a screenshot of a webisode? And no title or EAH logo?
I don't have Spotify so I understand that people might think it was an official song. It says 'Ever After High' as Artist/Producer so of course it will show up itself with the official Ever After High songs if you search for "Ever After High".
But on YouTube, you can easily find out whether a song is related to an artist or not. And the new songs are on a different YouTube channel than the official YouTube channel "Ever After High - Topic", even if it has the same name!
The REAL Ever After High - Topic YouTube channel :
The FAKE Ever After High - Topic YouTube channel :
And if you make a comparaison between an official song's (here "Power Princess Shinning So Bright") and "Can't Get Me Down"'s description, you can read that the provider isn't "Mattel - Art Music" and that the rest of the credits are different :
Just to confirm everyone's doubts, a new song was released yesterday : "Unbreakable"... and I think it's obvious that this is a prankster who is making AI-generated songs.

I was terrified
when the doctor named the disease
& told you one can manage it these days—
there are pills, there is time.
I know we are not young young,
know the body is but a shell—
shoulders throb, hips need oiling
at the hinges, hair whitens—
but isn’t it too early? & death,
whichever of us it comes for first,
will it be forgetfulness or remembrance?
Of the two of us, you’re the one who believes
more. It matters what we tell ourselves,
so we tell ourselves
We are here we are here we are here.
