Am I old enough to go on the Tom Joyner Morning Show cruise, the Fantastic Voyage?

It's expensive, like, $6 stacks last I checked,

But it's to raise money for the scholarship fund.

I wonder if Tom will be on the boat and when he gon retire from the cruises and who will take over like, will they continue?

He's 73, I can't imagine him waiting to be on a boat for too much longer, but I could be wrong.

It's 3 am and I need to sleep but can't.

My stove and oven are off and that trash is ready to go out.

My first encounter with Mr. Joyner was in high school. I called into the radio station in Chicago. This was before he became the "Fly Jock" by flying back and forth to do two radio shows in Chicago and Dallas. I asked him to call my tennis partner, Dana, and wish her a Happy Birthday. To my surprise, he did it! He didn't have to do that! Another time, he mentioned "my little character," Little Pampu, on his show! He didn't have to do that! He's been helpful in other ways and I am forever grateful! He didn't have to do any of that! Did you register to vote and voted by listening to his show? I did! I learned many Little Known Black History Facts from his show! I darn well didn't learn many of them in grammar, high school or college! Who else received a little knowledge from the show? Any important news to the African-American community, I heard first on his show. Who else listened while getting ready for school or work or at work? People that I have never heard of and eventually would support, were introduced to me on his show. How many careers did he create and revive? Do you remember the Sky Shows? His show not only made you think, laugh, but be productive in our community. His Fantastic Voyage/Party with a Purpose cruise helps many kids go to college. Matter of fact, I took the above photo on his cruise! The cruise was worth every dime! I also was a vendor at one of his Allstate Tom Joyner Family Reunion events. Just like this photo, Mr. Joyner has been a part of my life for so long that when I finally met him, I was a little star struck. Thus, the photo above being off-centered. However, I'll get another photo because Mr. Joyner is one of the most humble, helpful, kind, informative and fun-loving people out there! Thank you for everything! Happy Retirement, Mr. Joyner! It’s official! Jill Scott, Usher and Alicia Keys are headliners for The 2020 TOM JOYNER FOUNDATION FANTASTIC VOYAGE on the Carnival Magic. The cruise sets sail from Fort Lauderdale and hits an array of beautiful cities including, San Juan, PR, St. Maarten and St. Kitts.

Most important, the week-long party isn’t just a space to get things poppin’. The trip is also an annual fundraiser for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

The Countdown Begins!

In exactly 1 month I will be hitting the open oceans to impart on yet another installment of the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage.

I am forever thankful for the connections I made while working at Radio One Detroit. These connections have afforded me the opportunity to take part in the cruise for the past 8 years. I've made friends all around the country who collective come together to use their PTO for a week of fun, libations and sunrise to sunset work.
