Hello! I was out hiking yesterday and I found some wolf’s milk that had beads of clear liquid on it, and it hadn’t rained in several days, so it HAD to have come from within the slime molds. I wondered if it must be guttation, which is mainly seen in fungi and plants, but I couldn’t find ANY information or photos of this species guttating! Do you got any clue if I might be right?
yes thats absolutely correct !!! slime molds do produce guttation as a way to remove excess moisture just as fungi do, often while the spores are maturing. a lovely lovely find and photograph, thank you for sharing !! 💗 fun fact - the guttation of F. septica is red, which can result in fun things like these frog prints:
“Frog footprints on a pale, immature Fuligo septica. F. septica will sometimes ooze red guttation droplets when it's holding too much moisture, so maybe the weight of the little critter caused excess liquid to pool in its footprints. It's been very wet and humid around here in Ontario for the past few days.” - via Jan Thornhill

ugh gonna have to start a new sourdough starter; this one has a bit of mold in the sides of the jar (not on the starter itself) and ik some ppl on the internet say u could just take some of it out to a new jar and keep going, I think the safest bet is to just start over. It's only a month old, and better to go back a month than to always wonder if I'm lowkey poisoning myself every time I make bread (and wouldn't feel comfortable abt sharing that bread/starter with other ppl bc one thing to poison urself, but others?? that's a big no).

Well, not even antidepressants can help me from being on the verge of tears from hearing an older coworker you actually really like and respect absolutely going to town while blasting you and how much you fucked up to another coworker.
I will never do anything for this lab again.

first real assignment is sixteen 10-20 minute videos on how to use excel with specific instructions within on what the assignment entails meaning I have to actually watch them all even though I know how to use excel. cool.

My Mondays and Wednesdays fucking suck this spring semester cuz I have back to back classes from 11 am to 7 pm, with 10 minute gap in between. Thank god my classes are in two buildings that are right next to each other but FUCK MAN. Even on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have back to back classes from 8 am to like 12:30 pm. I’m so tired and my eye is twitching again from not sleeping well and not being able to fall asleep at a decent time… 🙃
