How Peccantum joined the hotel! He just got yeeted into it, no prior warning! Not only is this the first time Alastor's called on him, it's the first time Peccantum's seen the Radio Demon since they made their deal. So he's understandably nervous and jumpy.

(Peccantum is technically the bellhop, but mostly he does chores and menial tasks. Sometimes he entertains as a magician but he's really just an assistant to whatever Alastor/Charlie needs.)
