Being The Oldest Todoroki Daughter
Tumblr media
You're Toya's Twin Sister
The two of you had always been close ever since you were younger
Both of you felt pressured to be good enough for your father, pushing yourselves beyond your limit during training
You two were each other's support
However, things only seemed to get worse
Fuyumi and Natsuo being born made you both happy and worried
Then Shoto came along and your father focused on him, calling Shoto his masterpiece
Both you and Toya felt Jealous since you wanted your father's approval
You didn't hate Shoto, but Toya held more resentment toward the youngest of you all
You tried to make him realize that it was all your father's fault, but he didn't listen
Even comfort from Natsuo didn't help you feel completely better
You, Toya, Fuyumi and Natsuo didn't see Shoto very often, since your father kept him busy with training
You barely saw your mother either
Then came the incident when Rei had enough of the way she had been treated by Endeavor
She ended up pouring boiling water on Shoto's face, which caused her to be sent to a mental hospital
Things became even more tense in your home after that
And one day, Toya died
You were heartbroken, since out of all your siblings you felt closest to him
It was at that point that you distanced yourself from your entire family, even Natsuo and Fuyumi
You hadn't been that close to Shoto, but at that point you barely even went near him
You swore to yourself that you would become a better hero than your father ever could be
Not to make him happy, but to spite him
When you grew up, you made it as a hero, moving out of the home you had grown up in for some long
Deep down, you felt bad for your sibling, but you didn't know how to form a proper relationship with them
You wouldn't even consider trying to fix things with your father
Some time later, you finally found the bravery to visit your mother
Though it was awkward at first, you did end up mending things with her a bit
It made you happy to know she didn't hate you, considering how much you look like your father
She was glad you had moved out and started your own life, and she was proud of you for being such an amazing hero
After visiting your mother, you finally gathered the courage to talk to your siblings again
Fuyumi was the most willing, having missed you since you left the home
Natsuo was a bit hesitant, but came around after a short while
The two of you bonded over the anger you felt toward your father
Shoto was a different story
At first, he didn't really want to see you
Part of him resented you for leaving, and the fact that Endeavor wasn't as tough on you as he was on him
But, after some time, the two of you slowly became close
He really started to feel close to you when you stood up to your father how he was hurting Shoto
He started admiring you after that
He even picked your agency to intern with instead of your father's, which Endeavor wasn't too happy with that
Though, neither of you cared
It felt nice to be close to your siblings after all the time that you had spent barely being around them
You watched as Shoto made his way through UA
And despite all the dangers he faced along the way, he always persevered
During one of your patrols, you met Dabi
There was something familiar about him, but you just couldn't figure it out
It bothered you for a while, until you were given the answer
During what could only be called a war, Dabi was spotted on top of the giant villain
At that moment, you got your answe
Dabi was actually Toya, your twin brother
And he followed through with his plan of exposing your father and all that he had done
You tried your best to stop him, even if he was your brother
You knew your father wouldn't be up for.the task, so you would step up
There was no more Toya, only Dabi

Todoroki: Brace yourselves. If it shows Dabi, be sure not to look directly into his eyes.
Midoriya: Because we’ll turn to stone?
Todoroki: [confused] No. because his eyes are ugly.

Todoroki dog-pile 😂🤣 I think Enji is protecting Rei, Fuyumi and Touya with his big-ass build. While Natsuo gets to finally be the big brother who protects his baby brother 🥹 covering Shouto from the falling clones! I do think Enji is covering a bit of Natsuo too! I love this, Enji and Natsuo protecting the family and like both of them are the big builds of the family(the big protecting the small)!

As a child, Shoto did not care for his birthday.
At school, the teachers and other kids would try to make him feel excited about it, but it never worked. After a few years they gave up.
At home, there were nobody to celebrate with.
His mom used to give him a piece for cake and a secret present, but she's gone now.
His father would barley acknowledge the day, and when he did, it was only to remind him that he was one year older, and was expected to perform as such.
His older siblings would always draw him a little birthday card and sign it with their names, which Shoto loved, because it helped him guess some parts about their personalities.
Fuyumi's handwriting was pretty, she held her pen lightly, and always spelt right.
Touya's name was always signed with black pen, usually looking hasty, but he did put a little flame next to his name.
Natsuo always wrote his name in crayon, and sometimes he spelled it wrong. Fuyumi would always correct it.
Then, one year they just stopped. The year after they were back again, but now they were only signed by two names.
Shoto did not like to think about that.
When he's a teenager, Shoto isn't sure how he feels about his birthday.
At school, his friends and classmates makes Bakugo make cold soba for dinner, Sato bakes him a strawberry cake, and they all give him gifts that shows him that they truly know him.
His teachers pats his head, touches his shoulder, or give rare smiles, all acknowledging the birthday in their own way.
It makes Shoto feel seen, cared for and appreciated, and he isn't sure what to do with that.
Now, he can visit his mom with both Fuyumi and Natsuo, and they all eat cake together.
His siblings get him a thoughtful, but funny gift, and a home drawn birthday card that Fuyumi signs with her pretty handwriting, and Natsuo signs with colored pens.
It makes Shoto feel a warm fuzziness inside he hasn't felt in many, many years.
When he turns 20, Shoto looks forward to his birthday.
His friends all takes time out of their busy schedules to come to visit him, even though they're all busy being heroes, nobody misses the day.
They go out for cold soba, Bakugo complains that his would be better, and Ochako suggests that Bakugo make it himself next year.
He doesn't object.
They all go back to his apartment, and even if it's a little crowded and some of them have to sit on the floor, they all enjoy eating Sato's strawberry cake and talking about their UA days.
Shoto feels warm inside.
Earlier that day, he had lunch with his family.
His entire family.
Shoto is a little nervous about it, having his parents together after the divorce, but somehow it's nicer than it ever was when they were married.
His siblings gives him a framed picture taken of them all when they visited the botanic gardens a few months ago.
They give him a home drawn birthday card. This year, there are three signatures.
Fuyumi's pretty handwriting, Natsuo's colored pens, and Touya's ink black signature with the little flame next to it.
Shoto thinks that birthdays might be worth celebrating, after all.

I’m going to say this, but there are many factors to why Enji was never going to train Fuyumi as a hero, but it’s NOT because he’s a “Misogynist”!
I wish I took screenshots now, but there are people who are bent on the he’s a misogynist man and they use the fact he wouldn’t train Fuyumi as one of the proofs! However, I repeat there are many factors to why he wouldn’t train her, and it’s not because of misogyny!
Factor 1: Fuyumi was born in a time period where not only was the family ok, Enji was “happy” with his two children despite the lack of his desired quirk. Enji then went on to start training Touya, who had a fire quirk.
Factor 2: Fuyumi was never a runner up to be trained, unlike her brother who all three were runners up for training. Touya the first born and the first child trained, Natsuo whom was a runner up but didn’t achieve the spot and finally Shouto whom became the one chosen to be trained. Fuyumi was never a runner, she was born as I stated above during a time period when times were ok, and she was born to support Touya to be a sibling.
Factor 3: This ties in with the top two, but basically she was also not born with the desired quirk. Neither was Touya, but he at least had a fire quirk Fuyumi did not and so she wouldn’t of been trained. Fuyumi was never a runner up due to her time period of birth, and due to her lack of desired quirk.
These are the main factors to why Enji Todoroki never trained Fuyumi, it has nothing to do him being a misogynist or a man with old traditional thoughts. It was all about the desired quirk, and obviously this is a “what if” type of scenario but if Fuyumi had a fire quirk. Enji may have very well decided to train her next, and I don’t think the gender of any of his children would have changed the outcome! Shouto very well could have been a girl, Enji would have still trained her!

“Enji’s way of showing affection was training” “they’re only form of affection was training, and when you take that away(Enji had to because it was harming him) it left them with nothing”
It’s almost like THAT’s one of the major things that was wrong with his behaviour(his conditional love), THAT’s exactly why he was wrong, conditioning his affection(if you can say beating/training your 5yr old(Shouto) to exhaustion & vomiting as affection 😂 doubt Shouto saw that as affection) to training, and not as a father finding other ways to engage with his child! He stopped the training which is 100% a good thing, it would have been cruel if he had continued on despite the burns it was causing Touya.
However, he cold turkey’d his son by emotionally neglecting him, and distancing himself from Touya! With the exception of telling him to “stop” and to go play with his siblings/make friends. When a child, especially a child that is pining for you to look at them and practically self-harming to get it, needs more than a few words because as I think Shouto said words mean nothing without action or was it actions speak louder than words. Enji cared for Touya he did, and he stopped the training because he didn’t want his son to burn(pretty ironic 😂), but he failed to show Touya he cares by going all the wrong ways about it - pushing for more kids(Natsuo, Shouto), distancing himself from Touya, not finding another outlet for them to bond over & not going to Sekoto peak! It’s a parents job to help their child grow, to deal with letdowns and if they bond over something with their child and can no longer do so because of circumstances. They should find another outlet, instead of just cutting that outlet off and distancing themselves!

it’s not even about touya (I mean it is because everything is about touya because he is everything always but aNYWAY)
I don’t know how anyone could look at any of the todoroki siblings + rei and not be like “yeah, you can have a little unhinged murder. that’s fair.”

Fuyumi: Why do you delete so many tweets?
Todoroki: Sometimes you don’t know somethings really stupid until you send it out into the world.
Endeavor: [stares at Dabi just a beat too long]

Fuyumi thanking Izuku for being Shouto’s friends, Natsuo trying to put up with his father for Fuyumi & Shouto’s sake and Rei being happy to trade letters with Shouto & calling him “the family hero” all speaks of a level of care for Shouto! The fact that the span of them finally cooling Touya down, and the panel of them all laid out this chapter happened in the span of probably seconds if minutes isn’t a detriment for whether they care or not! Either way, the family does care about Shouto!

Pro Hero Touya AU ~
note: this is an old au, I'm just re-writing it into a drabble in stead of the list format!
pt 1, The UA Years
I imagine things were pretty similar to canon up until around Shouto's birth, around then Endeavor has a big work accident that makes it so he can't be a pro in the same capacity anymore.
It forces him into therapy, and the family as a whole actually works on stuff and slowly starts to heal.
But even after all that, Touya still keeps gets injured from his quirk, but he manages to hide it pretty well from his parents and siblings, because he still wants to go to UA and be a pro so badly.
When he does get in, he loves it so much, it's everything he dreamed it would be, he's making some friends, and his parents and siblings are so proud of him!
But then the first sports festival rolls around, and it awakens that old feeling of needing to prove himself as worthy of everything he has, and it starts to eat at him in that old, familiar way.
He gets to the semi finals when he ends up pushing himself too far and he ends up getting really, really hurt.
This naturally leads to his family and teachers realizing how much pain he's been hiding for so long, and they all try their very best to get trough to him.
But in the end, it takes tiny Shouto, only seven years old, clutching Touya's hand while Touya is still half asleep due to the drugs and injury, telling his big brother how much he loves him, and that he please has to stop hurting himself because they need to keep watching cartoons together, and someone has to tell Shouto stories before he goes to bed, and quite frankly that needs to be Touya because nobody does the voices as good as him, and nobody else in their house makes the cereal as good as him, and Shouto hasn't told anyone this, but he thinks math is hard, and he needs Touya to help him so that he too can get into UA and they can be heroes together.
When Touya starts healing properly, he gets sent to Power Loader to get some special support items to help him out, as gets assigned a mandatory meeting with Recovery Girl every week so she can make sure he's staying healthy and doesn't hurt himself again.
It takes a lot of him to go, but every time he feels the idea of skipping the meeting start to form, he hears Shouto's little voice in his head, and he always, without a fail, attends the meetings.
pt 2, The Early Pro Years
Touya debutes right out of UA, and during his first year as a Pro, he already breaks top 20, which is pretty damn rare. Not unlike his father, much of his success is due to his outstanding numbers, but unlike his father, he is also quite popular with the public. It's definitely in a "he's a little bit of a shit, but in a fun and likable way" - way. However, he's always very nice to civilians and fans etc. Buuuut he loves to fuck around and find out, lol He is the paparazzis biggest nightmare, always doing the most to confuse them. Kids absolutely love him, partly because he's genuinely good with them, and partly because he is a fun and dynamic and looks really cool while fighting. He uses special boots and gloves that helps him control the fire from his body without hurting him to fly around, like rocket shoes and little hand jetpacks lol. When Touya has been around the Pro scene for about a year, this new guy shows up out of nowhere, and it turns Touya's work on its head a little bit. His hero name is Hawks, and nobody seems to know where he came from or who he really is, and Touya is intrigued right away, especially when the guy skyrockets up the charts like nothing he's ever seen before. Touya himself didn't really care about the hero ranks or popularity polls, he just wanted to be a good hero, and he feels plenty appreciated by the public as it is, but it does intrigue him to see someone come out of nowhere and take off like that. He decides to try to get to know the guy a little, as they seem to have a similar personalities. Touya is very surprised however, when he runs into the winged man at a hero gala and realizes he's actually quite awkward and shy, proving that he's not as trained in personal relationships as he is in public relations. While Touya started out hanging around the other young hero out of curiosity, he quickly finds himself more interested in Keigo, the person, than Hawks the hero. The way he can go from confidently saving hundreds of civilians with a charming smile and give interviews to the whole country like it's nothing, to turn into an awkwardly funny, blushing mess of a 19 year old guy in a matter of minutes truly makes Touya's heart turn into mush.

i spoke no words, no sound he made
Summary: Guilt. That's what she feels. Father never hits her. Father doesn't train her. Sure he loves them, but she never has to incur his wrath. So, she feels guilty for her twin brother who does.
Warnings: Child abuse and neglect.
Rating: T
Fuyumi stares at Touya. His red hair is almost completely gone, looking more similar to hers than it ever should’ve. He looks back at her, mouth in a grimace. He’s gotten in another fight with father, she has to bandage him up again.
Well, she could always leave Natsuo to fix Touya up. He wants to be a doctor after all. She doesn’t have to get involved. She could leave her brother out to dry.
Though, in the pits of her stomach, guilt settles in. It sinks and sinks and sinks inside her, swallowing everything whole. It’s gut wrenching and consumes her entire being. It takes and it takes and it takes, leaving her sick to her stomach.
Obviously, not literally. Fuyumi is fine. She’s safe, she’s healthy. It’s Touya who’s in trouble. It’s always him that’s in trouble. She’s never targeted. She’s never even glanced at. He has part of the fire quirk father values so much. She has the ice quirk that father only sees worth in when it’s paired with his own. She isn’t worth it. She’s never worth it.
She wraps up and just sits with Touya. She’s breaking tons of his rules now, but that doesn’t matter. He’d never punish her anyways. And her twin needs her again. She’ll always be for him, even if it endangers her in the process. Because she feels guilty. Because she feels love. Because she feels hope.
And silently, she holds onto those feelings.
