This season of The Crown is utterly hilarious because every episode Charles is going on and on about how his mother should step down and just let him be king already only for him to have to wait decades to ascend to the throne
Serves him right

"We were so young" - Charles on the crown.
No Sir, she was 19 and you were 32. You said she was an attractive 16 year old in your first meeting while you were 29. How is that being "young" that's a full grown adult. She was in love and you said "whatever love means".
They're really trying to make Charles not look that bad. It's just a very difficult thing to achieve given that Charles is you know... Charles.

the royal family: give us 15mil for our boat. our sweet sweet boat. precious baby. have you seen how beautiful she is? no, she is not a luxury!! having a yacht is a necessity and it's very important to decompress on a yacht while you spend two weeks travelling somewhere. yes, it could've taken hours by plane but the vibes!! how rude of you not to say yes immediately. no, we're not gonna pay for it ourselves. who do you think we are? who cares about the financial problems, just give us the money

Lol season five of The Crown is terrible. It’s not even entertaining for a mainstream audience, it’s just so boring? It’s dull and drawn out with no consistency time-wise. The writing just isn’t good? And why did we get a whole episode on the Fayeds?

[Diana] was a complex and very nuanced human being. The thing that really strikes me so often is her incredible capacity for joy, and for living life.

Watching S5 of The Crown and I'm struck by how the S1-2 portrayal of the queen was so sympathetic, then the S3-4 version less so, and now even in Ep1 of the current season I'm having to hold myself back from using some very colorful language every time she acts like the entitled snob she is. Feels weird to dislike her so much on screen when the real woman is barely cold in her grave.
