Boston Strangler
Boston Strangler [trailer]
A reporter becomes the first journalist to connect the Boston Strangler murders. As the mysterious killer claims more and more victims, she attempts to continue her investigation alongside a colleague, yet the duo finds themselves stymied by the rampant sexism of the era.
The movie that comes to mind is Zodiac. It's not as exhaustive as that one, but it's also about how difficult investigations can be in real life. I enjoy movies that show that.
The film adds another layer by describing how, besides trying to solve the already complicated case, the two women had to fight to be taken seriously by colleagues and institutions.
As for the case itself, while the movie seems to take some factual liberties, it's still a hard to believe story.
