Stourhead Pedestrian Entrance, Bristol High Cross & Cottages by Richard Walker
Via Flickr:
Approaching one of the two main pedestrian entrances to Stourhead Gardens in Wiltshire. This shot shows the Holiday Cottages (on the right) and the Bristol High Cross which was moved from the City Centre in 1764. The special 650th anniversary of the Bristol Cross can now be discovered by visitors who can discover the intriguing origins of the Bristol Cross, the oldest known structure in the National Trust鈥檚 care at Stourhead. The Bristol Cross stands at the entrance to the garden, one of Stourhead鈥檚 most recognisable views, but it began life in the centre of the medieval city of Bristol. New interpretation panels will show visitors how the cross, which was erected in 1373, came to live at Stourhead, and its captivating history.

St Peter's Pump, Stourhead, Wiltshire. 'PrzeoRR', October 2018
...and by Nick Perry, June 2020
This strange structure has an unusual history. The upper gothic part was built in the 15th century, in the centre of Bristol. It used to stand above an ancient well next to a medieval church.
In 1768 it was moved due to road improvements and reconstructed on top of this purpose built grotto structure in Stourhead Park. This marks a spring which is one of the sources of the River Stour.
Interestingly, during WWII, the exact former site of the pump was struck by a bomb which would have destroyed it (and did badly damage the church).
